I initially went to her to get back to my natural hair color, and she matched it perfectly; now I'm working with her on adding natural-looking light brown highlights and I've been really happy with the results. She listens to what I want, while balancing that with what she thinks would look best. I have been lucky enough to have Alia do my hair at Artist and Muse for the past year-ish. Alia is officially my forever stylist as she consistently provides the most flattering cut and color to keep my fake blonde hair looking fresh. She's the only person I've ever trusted so much to do my hair as her recommendations are always perfect. A few months ago, Alia even did my color for my wedding. I can't recommend Alia's work highly enough. She's also the sweetest person ever and makes each service fly by with her easy conversation. The studio itself is very nice. There's tons of free street parking. The studio has great natural light and is a nice open space. I like the Kevin Murphy products used here and even some of the additional non hair products they sell, like salt and stone lip balm. I love Tawni at Artist and Muse! Not only does she have a great eye but she really listens to what you want and works with you. I trust her so much and she really cares about the people she works with. It was so refreshing and lovely. I have thick black hair and I had dreams of going blonde. This was the third salon I tried and I was on the verge of giving up. I went into see Tawni for a consultation because not only is my hair dark and thick but it had gone through rounds of bleach and ..interesting dye jobs. Tawni was up front and so understanding about my worries and texted me about expectations and where we could get to. She took a sample of my hair and showed me what we could achieve. Because she was so so kind and understanding, I trusted her and made the appointment. Two appointments, some snacks from Tawni, and six hours later I got to a beautiful golden blonde!! What a time to open a salon. JK! Despite slating to open right before a pandemic, they have finally opened their doors to clients. The location (across the street from McDonald's in California) is very close to my house which I love. I followed my stylist, Alexa, here and went in for a much needed hair cut (I also threw in a color because why not?!). The space is bright, airy and modern l'y decorated with all the stations pretty much matching. The am isn't music was pleasant and not too loud. They have a small sitting area in front but right now clients are meeting their stylists upon arrival. I booked my most recent appointment directly with my stylist, but I believe they also use the Vagaro App, which I also like because I'm a weirdo that doesn't like to schedule things via a real human. Currently, they are practicing social distancing for appointments and cleaners are very spread out. There was only one other person in the salon at the same time as me. I don't think they are doing blowouts unless you get a cut or color and everybody is masked up. I had to sign a liability waiver prior to my appointment. I felt comfortable during the whole appointment. read more

Hello everyone! The place was very nice and welcoming! I used to drive to downtown to get my haircut before but this year i had found the Artist and Muse Salon in my neighborhood, in West Seattle. I had my haircut done the first day and honestly I wasn't quite satisfied with it; possibly, I didn't make myself clear of what I wanted and I am also quite a picky person. My hair stylist said I can come back next day and he would fix it the way I wanted so I did. Overall, I was happy in the end! 'Artist and Muse' which started welcoming clients a couple of weeks ago is a beautiful, light filled space with a warm & welcoming vibe. The stylists share a collectively high pedigree having worked in salons such as Paule Attar and Obidiah (on the Eastside) and Ola and Pure Hair in West Seattle. Keri herself is not only a talented stylist but also a great listener and communicator. I'm so excited for this space to finally be open! It is central to West Seattle and easy to find parking. I have been getting my hair done by Keri for years. She really understands the complexity of my hair. It is fine but there is a lot of it so past hair dressers have underestimated the color and cut process. Keri is also the best of both worlds! Understands color but also gives a great cut. In my experience it's rare to find both in one hair dresser. The products used also seem extraordinary since my hair does not dry out through the bleaching and/or coloring process. I hope you check her out! Alexa is such an incredible stylist. She always takes time to understand and listen to what I am wanting and trying to create with my hair. She is professional, but never stuffy. I genuinely look forward to each appointment I have with her and always leave so happy with my long locks! The new space is so well designed. A retro mid century kind of feel with a lot of beautiful natural light coming in. One thing I really really appreciate about this space is their shampoo bowls! I know it might sound silly, but I have a LOT of hair that is super heavy when wet. Their shampoo bowls have neck support and don't sink down your neck throughout the shampoo / condition process.
