This review is for Olivia~ the Queen of haircuts! I absolutely love my new haircut! This is the best I've ever had and I'm slightly upset it took me this long to find Olivia! It was thick, coarse, dull and full of split ends. I came across great Yelp reviews and thought I would make an appointment to try out a new place. Surely, i was not disappointed! Olivia began thoroughly washing my hair, with a nice scalp massage too. Got over charged Booked through their on line appointment for a men's senior hair cut for senior discount $ 15.00. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Get there on time and only wait for 10 mins before hairstylist Olivia lead to back room and she starts to wash my hair[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], [[HIGHLIGHT]]I ask her if they needed to verify the age and the reply is no.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The whole process takes about 15 mins but I was surprisingly to see the bill for $ 36 and I was told that she didn't realize I have booked as a senior cut. ** in which I have had mentioned to her earlier ** she also said there's no wash for senior s cut. After all the total bill comes to 43.05 with a 20% gratuity. Well Well as of a fixed income retired person spending $ 30 more than what I was intended. I decided to check this place out because of the yelp reviews, and I have a feeling the folks that had an experience similar to mine is just staying silent. I have long hair, so my cut was 59 bucks so still cheaper than other salons but for me, I'll be paying this plus a more typical rate (120+ probably) to fix the "cut" I got. I didn't realize English wasn't an option - which is fine for me but may not be for others.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I asked the stylist for a trim, and to add some layers but keep my hair long, she didn't know what I was talking about and argued that my long hair was too straight and why I'd want to keep it long.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The other stylist, maybe the one everyone seems to like - had to explain layers are good for long/heavy hair (LOL). [[HIGHLIGHT]]Even with my canto, she didn't understand what I was asking. I did show her a pic (but the least layers of my other pics because at this point, I was worried what I was getting myself into).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This was the older stylist, so maybe that's an issue. She kind of cut my hair for about 15 minutes, and honestly, at that point, I just wanted to bail. The shampoo was nice, and my hour long appointment took just under 25 minutes (10 minutes to shampoo, 15 minutes for her attempt at a trim/layer/style). It just so happen that my go-to stylist decided to focus on her family and quit her job. My old place also raised the price hecka and now charges additional money to blow dry your hair. Meanwhile I'm looking at this place--The price is reasonable. The place looks clean. I decided to make an appointment few days later and gave it a try. I'm definitely going to come back for more haircuts. The stylist understood my needs and gave me visual aids to help me understand what she wanted to do. I love when a stylist can understand AND build upon my asks based on their experience. There wasn't any annoying up-sells, draining small talks--I was so relaxed that I almost fell asleep. A few hiccups during my appointment: - the person who took my call booked me for the wrong date. A week too early to be exact. They still took me in on my original date with no issues. - the basin started to leak all over the floor while I was getting my hair washed. They made sure the floor was dried before moving me to a different bed. They also carefully wrapped my hair so that the water wasn't dripping down my neck. But WHO did their water/pipes work??? When I visited, they were only opened for maybe a month. Not a good time to have water problems already. I would not trust whoever did their basins lol. Go support this new business :) read more

I was excited to find this place seeing all the incredible reviews, I expected someone with a deep understanding of hair who's very open to instruction. The lady who cut my hair (Olivia) was very nice. I showed her a reference pic of a stellar haircut I had in the past and she missed the mark. She repeated a mistake I've seen other hairdressers make when layering the back of the head: too much hair is taken from the bottom, thus the ends aren't heavy enough and end up curling inwards towards my skull.
