After 1 hair wash a week after the perm, the curls pretty much went away. Alan was kind to perm my hair again, but after the first hair wash the curls were gone again. It just left me with slightly wavy hair with several parts almost straight in the back even though he put the curlers up to my scalp the second time. Disappointed that it did not last at all, but giving some stars since he was very nice and haircut was fine. At least my hair was not damaged after second perm a week after the first one. This review is regarding service that I had with Tammie. I had a color & cut service done here and unfortunately the result did not match what I requested. The front sections were over-processed, much lighter and warmer than discussed, and the hair felt significantly compromised afterward. I gave it time, but the tone and condition did not improve. I ultimately had to go to another licensed professional to correct the color and restore the condition of my hair, which required additional expense and time missing work. I reached out to the stylist directly to resolve the issue by requesting a refund and was immediately told no. In the end I've paid over $500 for something that should have been around $300 plus wasted a day and had to miss work to have someone else correct the damage. I was not shopping for a hair colorist. I had my hair done 2 years ago and did not want to spend the money on it because maintaining it is expensive. I was at my lash appt 3 weeks ago and got to talking about hair. How the majority of them go to this salon because it's affordable and the artist is amazingly good. I was curious, so I messaged her and checked out some of the social media posts. Btw, the salon is located next to BiBi Bakery and Cafe, in the plaza where Lion Supermarket is. Appointments can be done via text or by their Square app. They accept Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, cash, and credit cards, but do confirm if your services can be accepted via credit card first. Complimentary water was offered, at least to me. Tammie was so sweet, she offered to get me lunch if I was hungry. That is because she did warn me that the appointment for color correction and stuff would take 8-10hrs. I was seated right when I got in and the rest was about me painfully sitting there while she does her magic. She wanted to confirm the color I want and suggested I get the treatment due to some damage from me not really taking care of my hair. I started asking about hair extensions because I saw her work on one of my closest friends and I was told the weave-in method would not work for my lifestyle. I appreciated the honesty. She then explained that I can get clip-ons because it is easy to put on and take off, that it would be more fitting to my everyday life. I work 12-15hr days, am a single parent, am a student, a volunteer w/ the Bill Wilson Center, and a parent to 4 cats, so as you can see my day is tied up from A-Z. I am tired and sleepy all the time and have no time to do anything to my face or to my hair - hence the lash extensions, eyeliner tattoo, and micro-blading. The thing that was missing was the hair. Being a woman is expensive and time consuming. Tammie worked on my hair from 9AM-5:30ish. It was meticulous work, she remained focused and detailed-oriented until the end. I decided to get the clip-on hair extensions because I am getting older, so my hair is thinning. And I already have thin hair. It was expensive, but I perceived it as an investment towards myself. The way I look depicts the way I feel. I am doing all of this for myself, not for anybody else. The body positivity, the positive affirmations, the gym routine, and soon to be diet will hopefully get me back to the way I was. How I used to feel about myself. I do not think of myself highly at the moment, but w/ these tweaks and upgrades I am doing to elevate my appearance will aid me into having compassion for myself. Anyway. I noticed the other hair artists were working non-stop. The salon was busy, I did not see anyone taking a solid break. They all work incredibly hard, but not rushing to provide the best work possible. I noticed one appt. ran late, but the gentleman did not rush his current client.
