I've been getting my bread for years from Terranova the bread is outstanding. My favorite of all is the prosciutto bread.

I got this delicious fresh bag of bread 4.34 cents on the too good to go app I love this app the service is amazing and quick. The ambiance is welcoming and the store smells like fresh baked bread. I will definitely be going back. Especially since I have a lot of allergies even to bread. This bread did not affect me or give me any allergies. This might be my new store. Terranova is definitely a spot that makes Arthur Ave special. Despite stiff competition from other bakeries and restaurants in the area, Terranova holds its own by delivering simple, honest baked goods that are always fresh and taste great. I'm torn between Terranova and the nearby Madonia Brothers Bakery as to which one is my favorite on Arthur Ave to get bread. I've definitely had more offerings from the latter but Terranova can't be beat when it comes to their pizza bread. I got myself a fresh loaf this morning; nice and crusty on the outside and soft on the inside - mmmmm. It also stays fresh for days and takes on a different taste/consistency over time after you buy it. If you're in the area it's definitely worth stopping in for some carbs - I want to return myself and explore more of what Terranova has to offer. Terranova Bakery is an impressive operation. It's a tiny storefront but the back is quite large. The machinery they use to mix the dough is ancient and the coal oven takes up an entire wall and has been there forever. Who doesn't love bread? This bread I could eat any day of the week. We sampled an egg bread and the pork bread. What's better than bread and pork together? Nothing! I left with the large round loaf that has a hole in the middle. So fresh and delicious! read more

I was there yesterday and from the window filled with delicious looking bread I had to go in. I ordered 6 Prosciutto breads .They had just come out of the oven and smelled delicious. Unfortunely when we got home they were just full of grease and not an ounce of Prosciutto in them. What a BIG disappointment . read more

This is the true coal fired bread that has made this part of the Bronx so famous. All the bread that comes out of this bakery is delicious even down to the bread sticks. They make a walnut raisin with cranberries that is fabulous toasted and either buttered or with cream cheese your morning is set. They have expanded to pasta's and cookies that are equally delicious. My review is for Terranova's pizza dough. If you make pizza at home as I frequently do, finding a quality dough (unless you make your own) can be difficult. I found the dough at Whole Foods. It is well priced at $2.99. My pizza was amazing, owing to the fantastic crust (to say nothing of the toppings). This might very well be the best dough I've used. No surprise coming from the Bronx's Little Italy. read more

If you're looking for bread in the NYC area, look no further. I'm Italian and enjoy my fair share of bread and this just might be the best I've ever had. I highly recommend anything they have, but especially the black pepper and prosciutto bread. It's salty and spicy all in one. I have zero complaints about anything I've had there. The pepper friselle remind me of my uncle Sub. When I was a kid I lived with him and my grandmother. I remember him dunking them in his morning coffee. But this review is not about the products because I hope you all know that it's GREAT! Now my two stars go to their CUSTOMER SERVICE... I'm not sure why but this girls are ALWAYS in so type of rude/don't care mood, like seriously everytime I come it's like they don't even want me here..anyways the big downfall was this past thanksgiving day, not sure if they were mad that they were working on that day, or that I came in when they were eating breakfast...but I went in with high spirits and said Hi, they got up from the corner they were eating and I said happy thanksgiving, they just gave me this look and NO hi, or anything, okay so now I asked one of the girls if they have baguettes she told me only this... whatever, I said okay so can I please get 2 of those, and i asked her PLEASE if she could cut the bread for me, which she wasn't too happy about it, she gives me this look, take the bread and go slice it, there she goes NO COURTESY, no smile, no okay or of course at all, but then I see a door opens and some Italian man comes out which I believe was the owner or person in charge because this girls did a 180° change of actitud, as long the man was there, this girl was with a different face, asked me if I need anything else, and with a more pleasant face and gave me my change and said thank you to me, I could tell her changed to a nice behavior was because her boss were there! I'm such a straightforward person I manage an office in a venue with 4 floors day and night answer phones and with more than 150 staff, I know what customer service is! I kinda wanted to approach the man and ask him if he was the owner and so on, but since it was thanksgiving I just took my bread said thank you and left. Ok. We were looking for homemade ravioli and had to find a 2nd choice because our first choice happened to be closed for renovations the day we needed them for a big gathering. Well, sometimes second choices turn out best. When you walk in, the first thing you notice is the pleasant aroma of fresh baked bread that immediately make you hungry, and all the second thing you notice is a place packed full of all Italian delights. We bought 4 dozen each of the homemade mini cheese and meat ravioli and they were the hit of our luncheon.
