Our hygienist Tiffany was very sweet, took time to build rapport, education on dental care, AND she even gave me advice to rid my baby of her pacifier. This is the stuff I LOVE, the extra mile is so important, and even more so with kids. This is the only cleaning my son didn't cry...this is HUGE for me. It typically is a fight to get a kid to be still during a cleaning. Dr. Sheridan Bunch...she lives up to her name. She gave a bunch of her time. Did fluoride treatments, gave more invaluable dental advice and she even referred us to a good adult dentist, Dr. Bill Robbins. Looking forward to seeing him in the future. :D I felt so special when we walked out and there was a welcome sign for August and Esmé. After some research and getting feedback from a friend that is a pediatric dentist in Houston, she highly recommended Alamo Heights Pediatric. After calling, I was able to make an appointment for the next day and the staff I spoke to over the phone was so nice and kind. I am not exaggerating when I say they were SUPER nice. Anyhow, when we got there they had our room ready and they got a polaroid photo for us to keep and remember his first visit to the dentist. We got assigned to Dr. Mikulec and she was amazing. The checkup only took a couple minutes, but I appreciate her taking extra time to make us feel comfortable and answer all of our questions. At the end of the appointment they had a little welcome gift waiting for us, which was a really nice touch.

They said he had 3 cavities. I trusted them. They informed us how much the bill would be with everything. We paid and thought everything was settled. Then we were given a surprise bill. When I looked back at his records I honestly believe they lied. That he only had one cavity. I asked to have his records sent to me. I noticed the dentist filled out his chart based on time stamp right before they sent it to me. I work in the medical field and am well aware of how medical charts work. They are a money hungry business. Make sure you are not over charged if you choose to go here and get a second opinion. Also look at their previous 1 star review.

They even took him on a quick tour of the office. The whole office is clearly designed to make kids comfortable with fun decor and tons of toys. Our dental hygienist was fantastic, she showed me a safe way to hold him to brush his teeth and did a great job cheering him up once he did get upset about the teeth cleaning. She caught on right away that he loves opening doors and looking at lights and was able to keep him distracted and happy any second that they weren't actually working on his mouth. Check-in was smooth and they accepted Delta Dental insurance. Everyone was very welcoming from the receptionist, to the dental assistant (Lovely), to the dentists (Dr. Esther and Dr. John), and to the hygienist (Tabitha) who cleaned my teeth. I felt very at home and loved that played Christian music and even had on Christian tv shows on in the rooms. They have very up to date equipment and technology, including mobile x-rays of your teeth that they can do on you in your room instead of having to go to the x-ray room (however they did both for me this visit). Dr. Esther addressed all issues I had with my teeth and reassured me of everything. This was overall a great experience and I look forward to being a long-term patient!
