Love this place they are so friendly and knowledgeable. We had to put our beloved dog down and they could not have been more compassionate.

I had brought my sweet girl Nessie here for many years when she had joint issues or if ever there…read morewas a problem and I couldn't get her to her regular vet. She graduated some PT training with them, gave me much anxiety when her legs would hurt her, and they were always the very best at sending her home with me happy and healthy. Sadly, the last time I brought her here, it was too late to save her. Nessie was a Bernese Mountain Dog and she had hemangiosarcoma which was undiagnosed. Her symptoms the morning of her passing was primarliy lethargy, not wanting food, and pale gums. Within moments of me realizing she wasn't doing well, I got her into the car and sped to the hospital. As we were driving her symptoms got worse and I called ahead to ask for immediate help. The team was out front when we arrived and we got her onto a gurnee. I wiped out one of her eye boogers and told her I'd be right there to take care of her. Nessie sadly didn't make it to surgery. Her heart gave out before we could help her. But I know she got the best way to leave this earth as she was barely in pain and she wouldn't have liked the cancer treatment we were planning for her. The team did a really good job helping me through the hardest thing I've ever been through. My one regret is I wish I had woken earlier that day and tried to get her help faster. But sometimes things don't go the way we want. I hope if you're in need of urgent care, you can get your pup here swiftly and allow the team to do their very best. It's a hard job these Vets and the team have, taking care of our sweet angels. I've put off on writing this review as even though it's been three months, still feels very fresh to not have my sweetheart by my side. Thank you team for all your help. She was the very best girl.

We came to Wheat Ridge ER when our dog hadn't eaten for 3-4 days. We didn't know what was wrong…read more They ended up keeping her overnight so they can do an ultrasound. Based on her bloodwork, her liver enzymes were heavily elevated. We had her there for about 2 days then got her because we were waiting on lab results and we knew we wanted her at home after a few days. Although it was a pricey visit. She was well taken care of. We still don't know why she didn't want to eat or anything not by the fault of the hospital or anything. Our dog is just a mystery. We had a follow up and liver enzymes had decreased which was a good sign. Our dog is still with us but not sure for how much longer since she is a senior dog who still refuses to eat her kidney food. But we are doing what we can but we are happy with the way our dog was treated here. Everyone was very nice and attentive and answered all of our questions.

I am absolutely stunned by the level of unprofessionalism and lack of compassion shown by West…read moreDenver Vet. My fiancé had a disagreement with the clinic after being told one thing by a previous vet and then being told it would no longer be honored. He was understandably frustrated -- especially when we were suddenly told our dog needed $500 in bloodwork every six months, despite showing zero adverse effects from her current heart medication. I called immediately afterward to calm the situation, apologize, and ensure the clinic could communicate directly with me moving forward. Between our five animals, we have spent over $20k at this clinic in the last couple of years. One of those pets is an 11-year-old dog on palliative care who depends on timely pain and comfort medications -- a completely different animal from the one with heart issues. This morning, Amanda called this morning to inform me that the clinic would no longer provide care for ANY of our five animals, including refusing to refill active, essential prescriptions for a dog currently battling cancer. When I tried to discuss this decision, Amanda yelled at me on the phone, leaving me no choice but to end the call. I have never encountered such unprofessional behavior from a veterinary clinic. To deny care -- including life-sustaining medication -- to an elderly, terminally ill dog because of an altercation that did not involve me is inhumane, unethical, and indefensible. There was zero compassion, no attempt to problem-solve, and no awareness of the responsibility they carry as medical professionals entrusted with the wellbeing of animals. We are grateful to be moving on to a new veterinary clinic, but it is heartbreaking that it came to this. Our animals deserved far better treatment than what we received at West Denver Vet.
