I approved bloodwork to look for metabolic causes of the seizure. The bloodwork was useful and ultimately showed no obvious peripheral cause. What I found frustrating was discovering that an IV catheter had also been placed at a charge of $120. I do not recall consenting to catheter placement; I recall specifically consenting to the bloodwork. No fluids or medications were administered through the catheter during his visit. The medical record states that catheter placement was approved, which does not match my recollection of the conversation. After several hours, the treatment provided consisted of examination/observation, bloodwork and placement of the unused catheter. Hospitalization for continued neurologic observation was recommended, which I declined in favor of taking him home and following up with his regular veterinarian, who knows his neurologic history and current medications. I understand why an emergency clinic might want IV access available in case another seizure occurs. My concern is not that the clinicians considered it medically reasonable; my concern is that a $120 procedure was performed that I do not believe I authorized, and I did not understand until later that the catheter had not been used to administer any treatment. In an emergency, owners are frightened and making decisions quickly. Clear communication about what is being proposed, what it costs, whether it is diagnostic, therapeutic or precautionary, and obtaining explicit consent before proceeding are extremely important. My primary concern is the IV catheter and the lack of consent. The catheter had already been placed before the veterinarian came to speak with me. I was never asked whether I authorized placement of an IV catheter, and I was never told that it would cost $120. What I was specifically asked to authorize was the emergency/triage evaluation and the bloodwork, which I approved. The medical record subsequently states "IVC placement approved." That is not an accurate account of what occurred. I did not approve catheter placement. By the time the veterinarian discussed the diagnostic plan with me, the catheter was already in my dog. It was never used to administer medication or IV fluids. When I decided to take him home, I also had to specifically request that it be removed. Ultimately, I paid $610 and left without any treatment having been administered to my Pomeranian for the seizure--no seizure medication, no fluids, and no other therapeutic intervention. I understand that examination, bloodwork and observation have value, but for our particular situation this emergency visit was not worth the cost or the additional stress to my dog and me. In the future, I will make a seizure-management plan with his regular veterinarian so I know exactly when emergency care is warranted. His regular veterinary clinic opened approximately 40 minutes after I arrived here; in retrospect, I wish I had kept him safely confined and comfortable and waited for his own veterinarian. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this clinic.

We were greeted immediately by name & seen right away by a Tech to assess our dog's situation.The Tech was friendly & sweet, she met Jazzy on the floor to evaluate & brought over a bed for her to lay in. We had a little bit of a wait until the Vet came over. The Vet was very knowledgeable & kind - she spent a lot of time examining Jazzy, explaining recommended procedures & pricing. She worked within our budget & applied a common sense approach to what services should be done. Everyone we met at VEG was awesome. They really cared about our dog & were eager to help, they were thoughtful & skilled as well. Jazzy ended up just fine & we're happy to have found such a great emergency vet group.

The vet and techs gave her an injection to suppress vomiting as well as a medication to coat her stomach. She's also quite a picky eater so the team there gave us a few cans of plain food. It's been a few days now and she is back to 100%, normal poops and appetite. No throw ups. I'm so grateful for their guidance and availability. One star sounds harsh I know, but this is my honest assessment. I brought my 18 month old cat there…read moreat the recommendation of Left Hand Animal Hospital in Niwot. My cat was distressed after we brought a new kitten into the home (the kitten has been re-homed) She stopped eating, pottied on our bedroom pillows and was throwing up.Left Hand started her on IV fluids, found a sore on her tongue and then did blood work, no issues there. We went to Veg and they monitored her all night. They gave her meds for her barely existent fever (even they noted this in her notes). I believe they gave her an appetite stimulant as well. Next day she had an ultrasound showing nothing we didn't know about already know about, or that would have caused these issues. They treated her tongue and sent her home the next day. She didn't really improve a lot. They sent her home with some mouth wash for her tongue ulcer with instructions. The vile was empty when I went to give her her first treatment, and they are in Boulder while I am in Lyons so I couldn't pop over and get more, besides they told me if she was eating she didn't need it. She had eaten so I didn't worry. The next day she was vomiting again, acting strange and hiding. When I called about this they wanted me to bring her back. I asked about the meds they gave her and they said to keep giving them to her. Well, the med they prescribed for appetite, capromorelin, side effects are, ironically, vomiting and excessive salivation are the mose most commonly reported adverse effects in cats, and the FDA also lists decreased appetite, lethargy, and post-marketing reports of hiding. These were all the symptoms I was describing to the vet that answered the phone. They should know the side effects of the meds they prescibe. $3000.00 later I have a cat that could have healed better at home. The stress of the hospitalization at Veg contributed to two miserable days during and after my cat's visit there. I wouldn't recommend this Group to anyone. I will stand by that. I wish I could get my money back. They saw me coming.

Extremely Disappointing Experience…read more We arrived at VEG with our dog after he was bitten by another dog and had a significant wound on his leg. We stood at the entrance ringing the bell for five minutes before anyone even let us inside. Once inside, we waited approximately 40 minutes, watching other patients being attended to while no one checked on our dog. Eventually, someone examined him and then simply texted us an estimate for approximately $2,300. No one came over to explain the charges or discuss the recommended treatment with us. When I reviewed the estimate, I saw $400 listed as miscellaneous charges and another $350 for stitches--even though we were subsequently told that our dog didn't actually need stitches. At that point, we decided to leave. We immediately drove to VRCC Medical Hospital, where the difference was remarkable. They took care of our dog immediately. The doctor personally came out, examined the wound, and reached a very different conclusion from the medical technician at VEG regarding the treatment he needed. And here's the real kicker: even with stitches and all of the treatment our dog actually received, our bill at VRCC was roughly one-third of VEG's $2,300 estimate. Based on our experience, VEG gave us the impression that the focus was more on generating revenue than providing compassionate, appropriate care for our pet. Do yourself and your pet a favor: skip VEG and drive down the road to a real veterinary hospital. You'll likely get better care, a doctor's evaluation, and save yourself a considerable amount of money.

She graduated some PT training with them, gave me much anxiety when her legs would hurt her, and they were always the very best at sending her home with me happy and healthy. Sadly, the last time I brought her here, it was too late to save her. Nessie was a Bernese Mountain Dog and she had hemangiosarcoma which was undiagnosed. Her symptoms the morning of her passing was primarliy lethargy, not wanting food, and pale gums. Within moments of me realizing she wasn't doing well, I got her into the car and sped to the hospital. As we were driving her symptoms got worse and I called ahead to ask for immediate help. The team was out front when we arrived and we got her onto a gurnee. I wiped out one of her eye boogers and told her I'd be right there to take care of her. Nessie sadly didn't make it to surgery. Her heart gave out before we could help her. But I know she got the best way to leave this earth as she was barely in pain and she wouldn't have liked the cancer treatment we were planning for her. The team did a really good job helping me through the hardest thing I've ever been through. My one regret is I wish I had woken earlier that day and tried to get her help faster. But sometimes things don't go the way we want. I hope if you're in need of urgent care, you can get your pup here swiftly and allow the team to do their very best. It's a hard job these Vets and the team have, taking care of our sweet angels. I've put off on writing this review as even though it's been three months, still feels very fresh to not have my sweetheart by my side. Thank you team for all your help. She was the very best girl.

Based on her bloodwork, her liver enzymes were heavily elevated. We had her there for about 2 days then got her because we were waiting on lab results and we knew we wanted her at home after a few days. Although it was a pricey visit. She was well taken care of. We still don't know why she didn't want to eat or anything not by the fault of the hospital or anything. Our dog is just a mystery. We had a follow up and liver enzymes had decreased which was a good sign. Our dog is still with us but not sure for how much longer since she is a senior dog who still refuses to eat her kidney food. But we are doing what we can but we are happy with the way our dog was treated here. Everyone was very nice and attentive and answered all of our questions.

If your pet needs an operation, you can observe that from a window if you want. If you need a private room, there are several. Apart from the deep knowledge and passion these vets clearly have, they treated our dog like a member of their own family and he clearly fell in love with them. He's already getting back to his ornery self each day, and we are so grateful!

So glad to know that this place is here in case we ever need emergency vet services again!

Veterinary care is expensive, and I fully expect to pay for quality medicine. What I do not expect…read moreis to spend thousands of dollars while the underlying issue goes unidentified. I hope our experience encourages other pet owners to seek care elsewhere, ask questions, seek second opinions, and make sure previous imaging is carefully reviewed before agreeing to extensive treatment. In 2024, our dog developed aspiration pneumonia when she was just one year old. She recovered and went on to live a normal, healthy life for nearly two years. In February 2026, she developed the exact same symptoms. We brought her to Animal Urgent Care Northeast and specifically asked the doctors to obtain and compare her previous medical records because we believed this was the same issue she had experienced before. We were told the records had been reviewed. Over the course of her care at AUC North East, she underwent multiple diagnostic tests, received IV fluids, oxygen therapy, medications, and treatments. Yet, they never identified the foreign body. Despite more than $6,000 in charges, we were repeatedly told they could not determine why she was not responding to treatment. Afterward, we paid another veterinarian to independently review the medical records. Within that review, they identified a foreign body that had been visible on every image since 2024, which means that the foreign body had remained present on every set of radiographs taken since then. Image included in review, foreign body by curser. When I contacted Animal Urgent Care Northeast to discuss these findings, I was told that treating pneumonia was appropriate and that they could not prove the foreign body was responsible for her failure to improve. That is true--they cannot definitively prove that connection without removing the foreign body. What is also true is that we had already spent so much on hospitalization and treatment that never identified the underlying issue, we could no longer afford the procedure that may have given her a chance. The clinic ultimately refunded less than 10% of our bill. Tragically, that refund will be used to euthanize our three-year-old dog because surgery was no longer financially possible. I understand that veterinary medicine is complex and that no doctor has every answer. My disappointment is not that they couldn't guarantee a diagnosis. It is that despite our repeated concerns, our dog's previous history, and thousands of dollars in diagnostics and treatment, the underlying issue was never identified when it was clearly on the x-ray and explained all her symptoms. When another veterinarian found it by reviewing her records, there was very little accountability. I cannot recommend this clinic. If your pet has a complicated or recurring medical condition, I strongly encourage you to seek a different provider.

My 6 year old dog had just been brutally attacked by another dog ( a dog locked its jaws on my dogs neck) less than an hour after arriving at the facility Saturday 5/30. The assistant manager (who didn't assist us)asked me the same intake questions twice, the same questions I had answered at the desk and online. She was more concerned with asking me the intake questions than to bother knowing why we needed urgent care. When I asked why she was asking me the questions twice, she proceeded to tell me that I was being recorded ( as if to try to intimidate me). During her inquisition, the assistant manager began petting my dogs wound, prior to knowing why we were seeking urgent care for my dog. I told her to stop petting my dogs wound Because she had just been attacked by another dog. The assistant manager didn't seem to care why my dog needed help, she cared more about her feelings ( both my dog and I were traumatized after the attack) than my dogs severe and serious injuries. I am disgusted with the unprofessionalism and lack of sensitivity and empathy for our medical needs. I was made to drive my dog 45 minutes out of my way to the next urgent care in Thornton because she refused us service and kicked us out of the facility.

Our nurse was Courtney and she was AMAZING!! Tynkerbell licked her and let her pet her, which she never does. Courtney also explained the whole process to me; she understood our situation and took the time and patience with Tynkerbell that she needs. Her friendliness and calmness made me feel assured that my dog was in great hands under their care- which is not something I feel often!! We were treated by Dr. Brandon Reynolds who was also very friendly and informative! He explained everything in great detail, and I felt confident that he would be able to find the right course of treatment for Tynkerbell. I would highly recommend him. Overall, I would recommend this clinic to anybody looking for quality emergency care. The staff was beyond helpful, caring and just wonderful. The clinic was very clean and tidy.
