The steaks were perfectly done! The sides were had cesar salad, the twice baked baked potato, the mixed vegetables were all excellent! Food in this place is delicious. We ordered lots of things and it was all tasty. Unfortunately our 90 minutes drive was for the tomahawk, even though they have tomahawk but they can't cook it as a whole, they can cook it cut in pieces. I understand people may be ok with that, but not for me. They said they can cook it but will be 35 to 40 minutes and we said that is perfectly fine and understood. But 20 minutes in, the Chef came in gracefully to share that he can't cook it, and he will bring it now, and if we slice it and don't like it, he can then cook the slices. Me and my son thought that we should be able to eat it, even if it was a bit on the rare side, and we did. It wasn't the perfect situation for us, which is the 3 stars, but it wasn't bad. Moral of the story, if you like your tomahawk cooked in one piece, this is not the place for you. Lovely local steakhouse that took my reservations on the same day! I read the reviews and I was very excited to experience the spin on their menu. As we walked in the door, the host and several others greeted us kindly. I was with one colleague and waiting for my clients to arrive. They seated us anyway which I really appreciated! It was served with saffron rice, which was good. It was also served with a piece of tahdig, which was almost too crunchy, hard to bite -- not like I've had before. For the rice, I expected better. I'll tell you what it lacked -- a richness and depth of beef flavor that I want in any beef dish. No, I'm not Persian but I've had ghormeh sabzi elsewhere and I've made it myself. This place is a "Persian steakhouse." So maybe if I'd ordered a steak I would have been more impressed. Great service and experience for my friends birthday! We tried the cowboy ribeye, the New York steak and the filet mignon. I liked the mashed potatoes as a side since it appeared really well with the steaks. I also enjoyed some of their mock tails, we tried a passionfruit and berry flavored mocktail which wasn't too sweet. The only reason why I'm giving them a 4/5 stars was because we all agreed that the fillet mignon was not soft/juicy or tender which was unfortunate since it was a pretty large cut. New York steak and cowboy ribeye on the other hand were great, and I wish I ordered another of of those instead of the fillet mignon. It was so hard and dry that I had to wash it down with water every two bites. No, I don't ask for it well done. Not only that, it had no flavor. On top of that, it tasted somewhat sourish. Koobideh should be juicy and full of flavor, not sour at all. I was NOT expecting that from an establishment like this. Especially not with the prices they offer. As an Iranian, I'm probably overly critical and protective of our cuisine, so I tend to approach Persian restaurants with cautious expectations. But Aria Steakhouse exceeded every one of them. In fact, I would go as far as saying it's the closest restaurant meal I've had to homemade Persian food. At times, it genuinely felt like I was sitting in my grandmother's house. We ordered four different kebabs--chicken, koobideh, barg, and chenjeh--and every single one was outstanding. Each bite was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and deeply satisfying. Nothing felt overlooked or lacking. The rice dishes were equally impressive. We ordered both the zereshk polo and the traditional Persian rice. The zereshk polo was especially memorable. Many Persian restaurants are far too conservative with the zereshk, but not here. It was generous, vibrant, and bursting with flavor. Combined with the exceptionally flavorful chicken, it created that perfect sweet-and-tart balance that makes the dish so special. Even the appetizers were excellent. The mast-o-musir and kashk e bademjoon were beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and showcased Persian cuisine at its best. Everything felt authentic while still presenting itself as refined Persian fine dining. The drinks deserve their own mention. They were a fever dream in the best possible way. Many of the Persian-inspired flavor combinations were reminiscent of drinks we've tried recreating at home over the years, but Aria has truly perfected them. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth every penny? Absolutely. Aria is a fantastic representation of Persian cuisine and hospitality. It deserves all the praise and success it receives. I'll definitely be back. Arya officially becomes my favorite steak place in Palo Alto. The service was amazing and foods were top notch. I even enjoyed the appetizers more than the steak. We ordered prawn, lamb chops, meatballs, tomato salad to share. Everything was perfect I had dry aged ribeye with scallops for entree and it was delicious. The scallops were my favorite. Good wine selection and cocktails were good as well. Plus points, the reservation process was so easy even for the big group of 10 like mine. To me it's a plus since I have hard time finding reservations for big group last minute. Give it a try! I'm sure you will love the experience at Arya. read more
