After dropping off Chase at UNIVERSAL PET HOSPITAL for his leg surgery the morning of Sunday, March 22, 2026, we decided to go out for breakfast or brunch. Mom recommended RH, THE ROOFTOP RESTAURANT at RH PALO ALTO. She called the restaurant and was able to book a 10 AM reservation for three. Located at the Stanford Shopping Center, we were able to easily and quickly find parking in the spacious lot. We arrived a little early, so walked around the Restoration Hardware showroom for a bit before walking up the stairs to the upscale restaurant perched on the third floor. The mansard space, with its floor to ceiling glass walls and roof, emulates a giant dazzling sunroom with trees growing out of the floor and elegant glass chandeliers hanging above nearly every table. The modern fountain and airy ambiance provide a relaxing setting for a nice meal while soaking in the glam surroundings and sunshine or admiring the beautiful sunsets. Outdoor seating is also available in their wraparound patio with comfy couches. RH PALO ALTO offers elevated American eats, plus beer, wine, and cocktails. The menu leans into opulent, fancified takes on classics, serving decadent dishes like CAVIAR CARPACCIOS (ranging from $18 to $28) and other CAVIAR SPECIALTIES such as GRILLED AVOCADO WITH CAVIAR ($38) and IMPOSSIBLY THIN HOUSEMADE CHIPS & DIP (15g $55, 30g $95). Below are what we ordered: LOBSTER ROLL ($36) - Z found this to be very good, I thought it was meh. The lobster could have used a bigger Dash of Mayo. On the small side. SWEDISH PANCAKES ($18) with fresh strawberries (for an extra charge) - I was disappointed that these pancakes were not served with the traditional lingonberry butter. These were not even warm enough to melt the slices of butter that topped them. KING CRAB ROLL ($58) - Also a petite serving, but this sandwich was tastier than the lobster version. Z said that it was very good, just like the lobster. HERITAGE PORK SAUSAGE ($12) - Flavourful; however, served cold. TRUFFLE FRIES ($20) - Fried to a perfectly golden crisp. RH BELLINI ($18) - Kudos to RH for serving an authentic bellini with genuine peach purée. This cocktail was yummy. Supposedly the BELGIAN WAFFLE was so remarkable to draw Mom back multiple times. Unfortunately, we were told that that they were no longer serving waffles. Mom was very disappointed by this. To boot, service was nothing to rave about. It seemed to be a bit challenging to catch the attention of our waitress to inform her that all of our dishes were served cold. When we finally got the chance to tell her, she didn't say much and appeared to leave us hanging. Later, the manager on duty came to speak with us, replaced most of the cold dishes, and comped an item. Still, this did not remedy Mom's dismay. She said that she will not return. read more

I am a fan of RH Rooftop Restaurants, and the Palo Alto's location wasn't an exception! The ambiance can't be beat, and their menu offerings is pretty tasty. I ordered my favorite, the Mini Lobster Rolls (topped with Petrossian Imperial Kaluga Caviar and creme fraiche, all nestled in a super buttery brioche roll that had a nice crisp exterior to it; the lobster was fresh and yummy) and the Grilled Shrimp (dressed in lemon, butter, garlic, and Calabrian chilis; comes with 6 large pieces). I also had the Chinese Chicken Salad, which came with napa cabbage, carrots, and fried wontons, dressed in a sesame soy vinaigrette; this usually comes with cilantro, but opted out. Such a beautifully bougie spot! It's the perfect destination for a lunch date or a girls get together. It's located on the top floor with a luxury hotel feel, and with the patio doors open, the space was wonderfully bright and airy. The interior is sophisticated, and the service is detail oriented and welcoming. We ordered the RH burger, lobster roll, fries, butterscotch brulee, and a cappuccino. The lobster roll was a bit small for the price, and while the burger was tasty, it was a little salty for my taste. We were in the area and wanted to get breakfast. We were close so decided to come here. We came in as a walk in. The place is absolutely gorgeous. We sat at a booth. There's indoor and outdoor seating. The place is very bright and airy. The service here flows smoothly. I ordered a chicken sandwich and we also ordered pancakes, bacon, and sausage. My son absolutely loved the food and it's hard for a 7 year old to eat everything. My children sandwich was delicious it was rotisserie check but very moist. I can see why RH Rooftop Restaurant has such mixed reviews but after finally visiting for lunch, I'm really glad we gave it a chance. I had been hesitant to come because of what I had read, but one of my girlfriends suggested we make a reservation and try it for ourselves. Even with reservations there was still a bit of a wait to be seated, but honestly we didn't mind at all. Walking through the space and browsing the beautiful furniture displays made the time pass quickly and added to the overall experience. Where things slowed down a bit was with the service. From placing our order to receiving the food, everything took longer than expected. It wasn't terrible, but it's definitely something to keep in mind if you're on a tight schedule. That said, the food absolutely delivered. We started with the caviar and potato chips, which felt indulgent and fun to share. For lunch we both ordered the lobster roll, and it was spectacular fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. I ordered the blackberry mocktail while my friend had the spritz, and both drinks were refreshing and paired nicely with the meal. The real standout, though, was dessert. We ordered the banana split-style brûlée dessert (I wish I remembered the exact name), and it was easily one of the best desserts I've had in a long time. I went to RH Rooftop after seeing so many videos about how great it was online, and while I do have to say the restaurant was quite pretty and our server was so sweet, nothing really stood out to me otherwise. I didn't love the starters, which were the prosciutto board and the caviar blinis. I found the meat and cheese board to be pretty lackluster and would definitely recommend people to just skip if they're contemplating it. The caviar blinis were very light but truly didn't stand out to me either. However, my boyfriend loved them so maybe try if you're into a light, airy starter. I did enjoy the branzino because of the nice lemon flavor, but I do think it could have used more lemon and a tiny bit of salt. The salad was tasty, and if you lots of onions in your salad then I would recommend. Steak and fries were fine as well. Overall, the food was decent but nothing really stood out to me, and for the price, I've definitely had better. Probably wouldn't go again but I did want to give a special shoutout to our server (can't remember her name). She was the sweetest and really accommodating. We went there on a Monday late afternoon lunch. We had reservation but on a Monday, the restaurant was pretty empty unlike on a weekend. Their food options are almost all at $$ price. But they do have some good food options. Their chicken dishes are my favorite. There is unfortunately less options for Vegans. Their beer is very good. So is most of their wines. This restaurant is more of a date-night kind of place and not so much of a family friendly place, especially with young kids. The staff is friendly and the ambience is top class. This RH Rooftop Restaurant has become one of our favorite places to go for brunch in the Bay Area. It's located on the outskirts of the Stanford Shopping Center. There are free parkings everywhere. Highly recommend you go early and make reservations in advance. The restaurant as well as the shopping center tend to fill up really fast, especially in the weekends. Do not be surprised if you walk in a furniture store. Simply take the elevator to the 3rd floor and you'll reach the rooftop restaurant. The cute glass ceiling and indoor greenery bring the outside in and you'll feel a sense of openness and freedom. The ambience was a win already for us. We were quickly checked in and led to our table. The staff who would be taking our order was busy chatting up the next table. When he got to us, he showed a different attitude. Instead of chatty chitty and chirpy attitude, he was matter-of-fact-ly despite us smiling at him. The staff who brought us food were considerate though. However, the staff who took our order returned at the end to take our plates away. He startled my sister a bit by not asking and just took her plate away. Other than this tiny uneasy experience, our food and drinks were great. We both order Italian Benedict's and believe it was the best item on the menu. It was made to perfection and the portion was so perfect. Otherwise, we totally enjoyed the ambience and the food, minus a tiny interesting experience. We ended leaving a big tip though. RH Rooftop Restaurant boasts a beautiful view of Stanford Shopping Center. Upon entering, you will find on the first and second floors an upscale furniture store. Under the third floor, you will find the rooftop restaurant with glass ceilings, illuminating natural sunlight. We ordered artichoke chips and truffle fries, which are a must, signature burger which was nothing life-changing unfortunately, and salmon dish, which tasted so fresh. We came to RH Rooftop Palo Alto to celebrate my birthday, and while most of the evening was wonderful, the experience unfortunately ended on a sour note. This was our first time here, and the ambiance was the main reason we chose this spot--and it absolutely delivered. The space is stunning, with beautiful decor, and we arrived just in time to watch the sunset through the glass, which made the celebration feel really special. The food overall was very good. We ordered the rosé spritz, cappelletti spritz, classic Caesar salad, mini lobster rolls, truffle fries, petit filet mignon, and branzino. The Caesar salad was amazing and honestly renewed my love for this salad--so fresh, crisp, and perfectly balanced. The truffle fries were a standout and easily the best truffle fries I've had (and I try them everywhere). The truffle flavor really came through, and the dip was incredible--we just wished there was more of it. The petit filet mignon with béarnaise was a showstopper: perfectly cooked medium rare, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and my boyfriend said it easily beat some actual steakhouses. The branzino was good but not particularly memorable; we've had better elsewhere, and there were a few bones we had to be careful of. Service was excellent throughout most of the evening. Our server and host were gracious and professional, plates were cleared promptly, drinks were refilled, and overall the staff was attentive and efficient. However, the end of the night left a sour note. As we were walking down the stairs to leave, a woman was walking up to the third floor with a drink in her hand. As she spotted us, she made a comment along the lines of "keep going downstairs" to us. It felt unnecessary and rude, especially since we were already leaving and not planning to browse furniture. If she was enforcing policy, the comment itself--and having a drink in hand while seemingly on the clock--came off as unprofessional and left a bad taste after an otherwise lovely experience. Still not sure who she was or her role there, but if she does indeed work there-- please work on your customer service skills! The setting and ambiance are fantastic especially on a nice sunny clear skies day like today. I have been to the RH Restaurant in the North Bay before and they have a similar setting. It looks like they have expanded their lunch menu now because it used to be sandwiches, rolls and salads but now they more starters and true entree options. The prices are on the higher side but you get rewarded with good food, great atmosphere and excellent service! A shout out to our wonderful server Raquel who was absolutely fantastic! So friendly, nice and informative! We got the following for lunch: Avocado carpaccio (10/10) - such a flavorful, unique but yet simple dish Prosciutto deluxe board (10/10) - the bread was warm, the cheese was soft and I could not stop eating it all Seabass (9/10) - big chunk of meaty and tasty fish flavored to perfection Grilled whole branzino (9/10) - grilled nicely and simple but delicious. RH is a fun elegant date spot for special people in your life. The 270 degree view of Marin, the mountains and Oakland from the top of the building are excellent. Today we had grilled avocado with caviar, prosciutto and Delice board. We first had the grilled avocado and caviar at the San Francisco location. Today we sat near the water fountain in the middle of the restaurant giving us some excellent views. Tables are adorned with white linens and the service is always friendly and attentive. My friend and I went to get brunch at RH Rooftop. It has a really nice atmosphere, and the mountain views are a definite plus. Relaxing on the patio after eating is a great way to end the meal. Some relatives came into town and wanted to try this restaurant as they saw it on social media. The ambiance and aesthetics of this restaurant are amazing, but the food and service could use improvement. The menu was limited - I was under the assumption this was a "standard" restaurant, but seemed to be more of a cafe. The menu consisted of salads, sandwiches, burgers, and a couple of choice entrees, and at a Palo Alto premium price - nothing really to write home about. While the overall staff was polite, our wait staff kept serving our food and drinks from behind the booth we were sitting at vs. at the "front" of the table. Here is what we had AUSSIE STEAK & EGGS: Prime Ribeye, Sunny Side Up Eggs, Sourdough toast...this was exceptional. The steak melted in my mouth and super flavorful. It was a good amount of food also, enough to get me full after eating half ITALIAN BENEDICT: San Daniele Prosciutto, Parmesan Hollandaise Sauce, Charred Ciabatta - this was delish...the Parmesan hollandaise was a good touch in lieu of the typical hollandaise used in other Benedicts I have tried RH SCRAMBLE: Farm Eggs, Crème Fraîc - per my bestie this was actually pretty good. It looked like Mac and cheese but tasted yum Housemade chips and caviar and dip - I would say out of all the food we had, this was the not the bestespecially for the price. CRISPY ARTICHOKES: Potatoes, Rosemary, Lemon Aioli - this was soooo good. I love artichokes and this was just perfect. The aioli added that extra touch to complete the flavors. We had a 7p reservation and were starving haha. We ordered everything to share between 5 girls. Appetizers- the prosciutto board and gem salad. Solid and tasty. Made me realize I haven't had a cheese and wine night at home in awhile. Mains - branzino that was filleted and flaky soft and charred skin. Ribeye was nicely cooked and well seasoned. Shrimp very basic but still tasty. Our pregnant friend had the fried chicken sandwich and enjoyed it. We also got the truffle fries which always hit the spot. We were celebrating birthdays and just meeting up again. The server was so nice to offer dessert on the house and they were the perfect sweet treat to end the night. You come here for the vibes and aesthetics. It's beautiful and upscale. Great for Instagram. The food was all solid. Was it amazing or special? No but everything was cooked well. For food we ordered the prosciutto charcuterie board and individually I ordered a salmon. Charcuterie board was fine--wish they provided more prosciutto. The board was mostly grapes and bread tbh. As for the salmon, it was cooked PERFECTLY. It was cooked just well enough that it melts in your mouth. Only downside is I do find that the price was a bit pricey considering it doesn't even come with any sides besides a small mix of arugula. You'd have to order the sides separately. As for drinks we opted to bring our own wine bottle and the corkage fee is $25 for anyone curious! Overall pleasant experience. The food was 10 out of 10. The salad is one of the best salads I've had in a while. The dressing was delicious with high-quality olive oil. Salmon was incredible and so is the caviar potato. This is one of most beautiful restaurant that I have ever been to in California and I do love the concept of RH Gallery at other floors where you can enjoy beautiful home furniture pieces. The service and staff were alright during my visit, nothing exceptional about it. But the ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful, interior design were on point with skylit garden theme, it also have panoramic views but tbh there is nothing to see outside lol. For the food I can tell they use very fresh ingredients for their dishes, seasoning were balance, but I guess I was expecting something a little bit more wow to my taste. I came here for lunch yesterday with my coworker and we had such an amazing time. First off the place looks exactly like the set up in Marin. They have a rooftop overlooking the Stanford mall which is pleasant. We came at opening which was at 11:30 AM and then it already started to get packed up so please arrive early otherwise you may need a reservation. My friend and I ordered the RH burger, which was cheesy and the meat was so tender. Our french fries were also delicious. I wasn't a big fan of their herby ranch dressing so if you order their sweet potato fries, just stick with their butter herb dipping sauce. Went here for a work lunch and the ambiance was so beautiful. We started with burrata and crispy artichokes for the appetizer. Both were so delicious. I ordered the Caesar salad, mini lobster rolls and grilled shrimp appetizer portion as my main and everything was really good. The dressing on the arugula that came with the shrimp dish was really salty. For the most part prices were fair except the price for a plain Caesar salad was high for what it is. The menu for lunch vs dinner is pretty much the same. Lunch offers some brunch items which is the only difference. I wish they had more options entree options for the dinner menu so I'm not sure if I'd come back for dinner. I might just stick to lunch. Those mini lobster rolls with caviar is a must!! We kept trying to reserve a table for my sibling's birthday, but they magically kept losing our reservations or missing our emails. Could it be because we had 3 toddlers? Look, I know it doesn't sound great, but if you don't want kids at your establishment then just say so, don't give us the runaround. Well we went there during our alleged reservation that they lost, but luckily they sat us. Unluckily they put us in very tight quarters. For the amount of food we ordered, the table was way too small. In our defense, one kid only broke one glass throughout the entire brunch. That's gotta be a record. Our bill was nearly $800. We went all out and got the chips with caviar bellinis, and pretty much the entire brunch menu. All were OK. Nothing stood out as phenomenal. Ambiance is still nice, but that's what you're paying $18 tiny bellinis for. Good for one visit but there are plenty of other restos in the bay area to explore once you're done with this one. read more

i've been wanting to try this place for a while since i kept seeing it on social media and omg...the ambience is actually sooo pretty. like genuinely stunning. the indoor/outdoor vibe is everything. i'd def come back in the summer just for that. but the food was kinda mid we got the prosciutto board and it was lowkey disappointing...literally just a few slices of prosciutto, some cheese, and grapes. the plating wasn't cute at all either. the lobster roll had shell pieces in it which threw me off...and the crème brûlée was sooo burnt it didn't taste good anymore. the beef carpaccio had no flavor to it. they just slapped on some caviar and called it a day lol overall, vibes = 10/10, food = ehh. i'd come back for the aesthetic but not for the food tbh. read more

Went for a birthday dinner. The food is incredibly solid and the atmosphere is great even on a weeknight in Palo Alto! Reservations recommended and there's usually plenty of parking near here / this part of the Stanford shopping center. The burrata was a great appetizer and the tomatoes had perfect flavor to balance the cheese. The salad was great tasting but was quite a lot of toppings rather than lettuce / greens (something to keep in mind if you're looking for a slightly healthier option). read more

Made a reservation in advance and was really looking forward to dinner with my girlfriends. When arrived, we were offered to seat at a standard table in the middle of a busy area. I asked the host if we could switch to a round table, but unfortunately, the request was declined :( Despite that, we had a great time. Honestly, next time I might just walk in and take the next available table, making a reservation didn't seem to make much of a difference in seating preference. As for the food and drinks: the cocktails were excellent, especially the Bellini and wine. The salads were fresh and flavorful and the lobster roll with caviar was delicious. We skipped dessert, but the cappuccino was a nice way to end the meal. read more
