We had a little bit of a hard time finding this place but it literally was in the corner and after a downpour and extremely wet shoes, sitting down and enjoying this meal was absolutely perfect. The chicken is juicy and so flavorful. It came with a stack of tortillas, some red rice, tomato puree, and pickled purple onions. It really was worth the search and soggy socks. It is also so incredibly reasonably priced, this is a most try in Playa!

Hands down the best pollo paradise in my pollo conquest. You will end up washing your entire face (and hands) at the hand wash station. Quick service. Very affordable. This place is crack

If you are craving some delicious moist juicy chicken before you go on that excursion. This place got you covered. Right across the main collectivo stand (bus stand) is this excellent spot where you could grab a quick meal. The best part is that it's very inexpensive and the quality is excellent. You could have a 1/2 chicken for $3.50 US (70 pesos). The meat is very tender, juicy, infused with spices and cooked to perfection over charcoal. Ours came out perfect without any special requests, but you have the option to inform the waiter on how long you want your chicken cooked if you want it well done if you have a preference. The cost of the meal included sides which was a great deal! It includes rice, salsa, pickled onions and tortillas. They also give you a salsa on the table but we didn't touch it. There are plenty of tables and the staffs are friendly and polite. They didn't have much/any decor which is fine because we didn't come for that - strictly for the chicken. The majority of patrons were locals which is always a good sign. There is an open sink area to wash your hands before or after your meal. There is a tip jar in the front where you pay so don't forget to tip your server. Note: They don't serve any beer or alcoholic beverages, so if that's what you're wanting best to order the chicken to go as their selections are limited to coke products. Temperature checks and hand sanitizer at the door. The chicken was flavorful. I feel like it maybe was cooked just a little too long. But overall for the price it was good. The table hot sauce was so hot at one point I bit a habanero and saw the devil beside me. It's that hot. Be careful.

Walked 10km to get there. Worth every step. Best chicken you'll ever eat. At least one sauce you've never tasted before.

Amazing find for cheap eats and delicious chicken. Just a short walk away from the main tourist area on 5th in Playa del Carmen, Asadero el Pollo is a must-see attraction. From the outside it may not look like much, but don't judge a book by its cover. The chicken is wonderfully moist with a great crust of bbq-y goodness on the outside. You can order more chicken and rice than the average person can handle for less that $5 USD and be out in half an hour. One thing to keep in mind is that they don't have air conditioning. The fans they have dotted around help to keep things circulating, but on hot days it can get pretty stuffy inside. They also take to-go orders at the front if you want to eat elsewhere, and the beach is only a short walk away. I will definitely be coming back if I return to Playa del Carmen.

Best thing I had when I traveled around tulum, playa Del Carmen, and Cancun. Great value and tasty chicken. Went there twice in two days because it was delicious and fresh. After you order you get your food within minutes. The staff are nice. And I like how there was a hand washing station provided.

We ate here twice because it was so good. Fresh chickens grilling as we are eating with the locals and watching people constantly stopping in for their orders to go. Everything about this place was great. Absolutely no frills but a large grill some tables. We ordered a whole chIcken that came with tortillas, lightly marinated onions, rice and salsa. We also hadThai non alcoholic drinks and the price came to be less than $9 (USD). Not only that but the experience of eating with the locals and livi g the food is an everlasting travel memory.

The service is quick, the prices are incredibly reasonable, and the food is consistently delicious. Before your meal even arrives, you're served a plate of fresh radishes, cucumber, and lime wedges, plus a selection of toppings including tomatoes, onions, and both a green and red salsa. Unfortunately this location didn't give us the cactus like the other locations did. The red salsa was my favourite, it paired perfectly with the tacos and had just the right amount of heat and flavour. The standout for me was the al pastor taco. The meat was incredibly flavourful with crispy edges, a smoky char, and the perfect balance of savoury spice and sweet pineapple. It was easily one of the best al pastor tacos I had in Playa del Carmen. I also tried the sirloin taco and the chicken breast plate, both of which were excellent. The portions were generous, everything tasted fresh, and the quality was impressive, especially for the price. El Fogón absolutely lived up to the hype. If you're looking for authentic, delicious tacos and grilled meats that won't break the bank, this is a must visit. The meat on this burger was overseasoned and had the dense and springy crumb that I've chided in previous reviews. The bread was decent, but nothing special. The jalapeno poppers were the highlight of the meal. They were large, well cooked, and a nice balance of fried breading, pepper, and cream cheese.

It is in an accessible location across from Walmart, close to the central plaza, which made for an easy find. On a hot, Saturday afternoon after biking around a bit, a fat burger and fries sounded positively delightful! So what did we think of this spot? Let's get straight to the point... Atmosphere - 3XL offers casual indoor dining, similar to any fast food burger joint. Tables were spaced out and social distancing with enhanced cleaning was in place. Rating 4/5 Service - Although it feels like a fast food joint, you are still "waited" upon. Menus are digital and not very clear in regards to what toppings are included with burgers. Our server was not extremely helpful in explaining their "XL" concepts to us and never checked on us after we ordered. Rating 3/5 Food - 3XL apparently charges extra for all toppings outside of the usual lettuce, tomato and onion. Totally disappointing as the burgers you see on their menu are misleading since everything on the burger is actually an extra charge. At $5-$10 a pop, these burgers by themselves are not cheap! 3XL states that burgers are made fresh and they even make their own bread in house. In all honesty, we can't really say we tasted this difference in regards to the bread or meat. We tried the XL "Pio-Pio" and the 2XL "Muuu" with corn, fries and posteles as sides. Our horchata was also slightly watered down. Everything was good, albeit not amazing and for the price you pay here, you expect amazing. Rating 3/5 Overall, the experience we were hoping for with 3XL was a tad disappointing. We found it to be pricey for average quality. If you're into one-time "I went there" splurges, then you'll enjoy what 3XL has to offer, however, if you're craving a juicy burger on a budget, this place may not be what you're looking for.
