The address and hours here on Yelp are out of date. We stumbled upon Ferron's while walking towards a different restaurant, and went here instead. Excellent choice. We got there after 7pm and there was no sign of closing. The waiter said they moved here two years ago. (Call or check Google Maps) Now then. The food and drink were great. Got the Jerk Chicken dinner for two - which comes with two sides. We chose rice/beans and fried plantains. The chicken had a tasty slightly salty flavor and was thankfully, very moist. Yay! Also ordered the Rib Dinner for one, which was delicious, fall off the bone. A bit fatty, but you don't want it super lean of course. The dipping sauce had a good kick and was welcome zing. The tortillas that accompany are more like fresh, doughy dinner rolls. The plantains were fantastic - and the white sauce for them is like a yogurt. Great combo. I enjoyed the 'Miami Vice' drink -- sort of like a Pina colada meets a daiquiri. They have an extensive bar list, including wine and of course several local favorites like mezcal and tequila. So many tacos last few days. Wanted to try something new.. Read good reviews about this place so gave it a try. I was happy to see that this place had nice indoor sitting with AC . Ordered some jerked chicken, fried chicken, ribs, with side of mash potatoes and corn. Wish they had a combo pack so i didnt have to make 3 different orders.. . Well jerked chicken was pretty dang good. So full of flavor and moist chicken. It said spicy but it was not spicy at all. Fried chicken was also pretty dang good. Nice crispy outside skin and juicy and moist chicken inside.. The ribs were also pretty darn tasty. Almost fall of the bone and tender. Not too dry and seasoned lightly. It came with some dipping sauce I couldn't figure out the seasoning.. It was on the little sweet side but tasted good. Mashed potato was nice and creamy. This review is based off ordering to go. We enjoyed a sampling of a few items off the menu. It did take a while for the order to be ready but we did not order ahead and it was a Sunday evening, nevertheless the food came out hot. The jerk chicken was juicy and delicious. The jerk sauce had a little kick to it but I love spicy so it didn't bother me. The ribs were tasty but they didn't exactly fall off the bone. I don't care for them to fall off bone but if that's what you are looking for then take that into consideration. The meats did come with an additional sauce of some sort which I did like. I wasn't a fan of the bread that also came with the order. Not worth the calories at all. I will revisit again and hopefully dine in and try some of the sides. They have a large indoor seating area and a great location to people watch. The hours are the site weren't correct as we did go initially in the afternoon at 12 but were told they wouldn't be opening until 1 and closing alot later than what was on the site. Let me tell you, this was hands down some of the best food I've tasted and that's saying a lot because not only have a tasted a wide variety of food from different places but I also cook myself. Everything was delicious. We had the jerk chicken, ribs, and pasta at our table. The presentation of the food was pretty, the restaurant was clean, and our server and the other staff members were extremely friendly and welcoming. I would absolutely recommend them! So on Sunday, we hopped over to the little hole-in-the-wall restaurant and were blown away! I would say that Ferron's is some of the best jerk chicken I've ever tried. :) Small and nondescript, the restaurant doesn't really look like much on the outside. But what they put on your table - man, it's definitely work the visit! I shared the following with two other friends: -Whole Jerk Chicken - YUM. Right off the grill, the chicken was flavorful, tender and all-around amazing. The full order comes with a side of bread and hot sauce. Just FYI, be prepared to wait a little because they cook it fresh! -Side of Taquitos - These were some of the tastiest taquitos ever! Light, crunchy and crispy, each order comes with four taquitos. -Side of Corn - The grilled corn just falls right off the cob... :Q We got all of this for about 160 pesos! Talk about good food at a good price. :) The people working at the restaurant were super friendly as well - they pulled together extra tables and chairs for our large group, even with limited seating. One of our favorite restaurants in Playa Del Carmen! We usually order the food over the phone, as they have a delivery service. The jerk chicken is melt in your mouth delish, as is the ribs. If you don't like it too spicy, you can ask them to put the sauce on the side. Also, the grilled corn is some of the best I've ever had.
