The food was so flavorful & plentiful. Very affordable. Nice outdoor seating. Tables could've been spaced apart a bit more. Service & food was timely. The food was delicious, filling, & and fresh. It was also prepared & plated nicely. Absolutely no complaints. I would eat here again & again.

I I really want to like the food because I love seafood. However, the oysters are plain, and the sauce on the tuna sashimi taco is overpowering. My friend ordered the seafood pot, and while the soup is tasty, the crab in it is mushy.

This place had amazing seafood for a great price. After paying so much for small ceviches at other restaurants, we were shocked by the size of the ceviche served here! Their coconut shrimp had us coming back because they were plump, delicious, and perfectly crunchy. Their tacos are also delicious and come in many different styles. The cocktails were mouthwateringly delicious. The tamarind mezcal margarita was my favorite!

Absolutely disgusting! The service was absolutely horrible the waiter came up and said "what do you want " he wrote it down and snached the menus out if our hands. Didnt see him until food came out. The asshole waiter yelled at the girl that brought the chips and salsas out because she wasnt go in order, absolutely horrible i felt bad for the girl. The waiter just stood by the bar chatting while other were working. Then he disappeared for 20 min until he brought the food. The food was flavorless the fish filet was hard and rubber like it was old or extremely overcooked. The rice tasted like nothing! The prices of this place are not bad but the food at McDonald's is freaking better! Thats saying alot!

Well while in Cozumel here we go. As we took a ferry to Playa del Carmen. The best way to find the best spots is to follow and ask the locals. The locals are the ones who know the ins and outs of what foods are available at the time. Wow, we weren't disappointed at all. The cocktail that I got was good, of course very up to par when it comes to cocktails. A little on the ketchup eeee side, but I took it like a champ as it was delicious. The fact that locals highly praised this spot, was worth the 7 block trek I took to get here. I am seriously happy that we did choose to come here, although the heat was giving me the flux. For starts, we order drinks and again, they were seriously good but too (shall I say it) liquored up. I mean seriously, just one got me buzzed out! But does it really sound like I am complaining? The second one threw me over the top though, I was too drunk! The caldo de mariscos is definitely fresh, you could swear that the ocean is in front, that's how fresh it tasted. And the fish tacos were way up to par. They seemed seriously fresh and had the perfect bite when it came to the condiments. Fresh isn't even a word when it comes to these tacos. And let me just say that I am a snob when it comes to fish tacos, I very rarely order them but when I do they better be fresh. I want to also speak of the service. Very professional and helpful when it comes to choosing a dish you normally don't order. Always ask what they would choose and usually their favorite will quickly become your favorite as well. Our waiter was so attentive but not overbearing when it came to service. He knew when we needed a refill or if we just needed to ask for dessert. That is the kind of waiter I appreciate. To round it off, yes, this place is definitely a must try if you are in the area. I was so happy we came here for sure.

El servicio muy Antenor y rápido. No hacen reservas así que a lo mejor ir pronto es una opción. La comida depende lo que pidas está muy bueno y otras cosas más normales. Mi primera vez que probé el taco de marlin. El precio está por la media.

Different flavor in every bite!! The salmón tostada was delicious with the perfectly sautéed onions and grilled pineapple!

Could actually be Michelin Star!! Very cool restaurant set up with a pool in the middle if you feel like you need to cool off after accidentally using the ungodly spicy sauce that accompanies the chips (I'm not joking, please ask to have the sauces explained first)!! You could probably order anything on the menu and enjoy all of it!!

Me and my boyfriend ended up at this restaurant because the other restaurant that had grilled octopus was closed, but this place did not disappoint!! We ordered the grilled octopus and the legendary tacos. Even if you don't like octopus, you HAVE to get it here. The meat is so tender and although we don't enjoy octopus much, we enjoyed the dish so much. The octopus is sooo big that even two people can't finish it! It literally melts in your mouth. Our server was also extremely kind and good at English, which made our experience here even better. I deem this place to have been the best restaurant I've been to during my trip to playa.

This is without a doubt the best meal I have eaten my entire trip. If your considering coming, stop and GO. Thank me later. Eat the Noraqua!!! WoW. Legendary for a reason!!!

Wonderful service and fresh delicious seafood. Our server Fernando was very attentive and helpful with menu suggestion. Will definitely come back every time I visit Playa del Carmen.

Shrimp in garlic sauce. Muy Bueno!

Located about 3 blocks from the infamous 5th avenue, this is a rather small, unassuming open air but covered casual place. There were many locals eating here and that's always a good sign. They serve chips and several different sauces to go with. From muy spicy habenero to mild garlic ranch, all were quite good. The shrimp in garlic sauce I ordered were very lightly breaded and some of the best tasting shrimp I've ever had. Tried my hubs guac and wished I had more. Our server wasn't well versed in English so he brought over another who spoke and understood perfectly. Very reasonable prices for food and beer. Not quite sure why there is a pool in the middle. Does anybody take a quick dip while waiting for their food? Not in this rainy day.

The service is quick, the prices are incredibly reasonable, and the food is consistently delicious. Before your meal even arrives, you're served a plate of fresh radishes, cucumber, and lime wedges, plus a selection of toppings including tomatoes, onions, and both a green and red salsa. Unfortunately this location didn't give us the cactus like the other locations did. The red salsa was my favourite, it paired perfectly with the tacos and had just the right amount of heat and flavour. The standout for me was the al pastor taco. The meat was incredibly flavourful with crispy edges, a smoky char, and the perfect balance of savoury spice and sweet pineapple. It was easily one of the best al pastor tacos I had in Playa del Carmen. I also tried the sirloin taco and the chicken breast plate, both of which were excellent. The portions were generous, everything tasted fresh, and the quality was impressive, especially for the price. El Fogón absolutely lived up to the hype. If you're looking for authentic, delicious tacos and grilled meats that won't break the bank, this is a must visit. I loved it so much that I ended up eating at all three locations and every visit was just as good as the last.

I guess they weren't prepared for it to be this busy on a Wednesday night. The food was all really good, except for the fish. It was grilled well but tasted a bit dry. Only the top of the fish that was covered in sauce had flavor but it didn't seep through to the bottom of the fish. I recommend getting the Seafood Ceviche because they make it with coconut milk, which was different from all the other ceviches we had on our trip. Location 5/5, Service 5/5, Food 4/5, Drinks 5/5, Clientele…read more2/5 *more on that below* This spot has one of the best beachside settings in Playa del Carmen. The entire restaurant, including the bar, is literally set in the sand, with tables right on the water just a few feet from the ocean. It's barefoot, toes in the sand dining done right, and the atmosphere alone makes it worth the visit. We did have one hiccup in the evening due to a rowdy group from a drone company that was extremely intoxicated and invasive of our space. Their belongings kept ending up on our table, and there were drunk men taking their shirts off and doing shots just a few feet away. Not sure if they didn't have enough tables or what, but we had made a reservation to celebrate a special event months in advanced, so it was a bit irritating. The servers eventually handled it and intervened multiple times, but at no point were they asked to move or relocate. Once that group settled down, the night became a much more enjoyable experience. We were a party of 12, and every single person raved about both their food and drinks. For drinks we had: Prickly Pear: Made with Orange Blossom Condesa Gin, St Germain, fresh lemon juice, rosemary syrup, mint, and strawberry. Bright and refreshing, though it came with more foam on top than expected. Coco Loco: A fresh whole coconut with Patrón Silver tequila, vodka, rum, gin, pineapple juice, and coconut cream. A true showstopper. Don't be intimidated by the mix of liquor, it is smooth, refreshing, and dangerously easy to drink. No hangovers were had. Espresso Martini: Simple and clean with a light foam. Well executed, but not a signature cocktail compared to the others. For food we had: We were surprised with an amuse bouche of huitlacoche, often called Mexican truffle. It's a corn fungus with a rich, earthy flavor and this small bite was outstanding and set the tone for the meal. Queso Fundido: Oaxaca cheese with chorizo and flour tortillas. Great flavor, but very thick, making it a bit messy and difficult to serve. Guacamole: Prepared with tomato, onion, cilantro, and cotija cheese. Perfectly seasoned, fresh, and especially enjoyable paired with the queso fundido. Brisket: Served in chileatole sauce with huitlacoche truffle, carrots, and cotija cheese. Comforting, rich, and deeply flavorful. Robalo Guayaba: Guava sea bass served in guava sauce with chiltepín chili. Beautifully cooked with just a little too much sweetness and citrus. It would have benefited from a little bit of heat, or a vegetable or side to pair it with, as it is not served with anything other than a cooked slices of lemon. Creme Brulee Mexicano: A rice pudding infused crème brûlée with caramel and vanilla ice cream. A thoughtful twist on the classic, with the rice pudding adding depth and warmth to the dessert. Knocked down to 4 stars due to the rowdiness of some surrounding guests. We were seated on the sand and needed to walk through the entirety of the restaurant, but people without tables or reservations were standing in the middle of walkways and sitting on the steps down to the beach, many too intoxicated to stand up. I'm hopeful this is not the usual clientele, and I would return for the quality of the food, drinks, and the gorgeous setting.
