    Had a move scheduled with Fernando and Marco into a shipping container. Early, quick, efficient, and most importantly everything was packed and moved with care and expertise. These guys packed and move my stuff better and faster than I could've ever done with 10 times the amount of time spent. Finally, the rate was super fair. Would definitely use these guys if I was in the area again!!

    We're not sure about Samarkand in particular but have performed thousands of moves in many different location types, including many retirement communities like it. We should be able to handle a move into Samarkand without any issues!

I reached out to them back in June to schedule their services for our upcoming move August 1st. Sam went over pricing, return customer discounts etc and we emailed back and forth several times. He collected the move details (even had me select a time window for the move etc) and I asked over and over to let me know what else is needed to confirm our move and he sent me a question form asking additional details which I sent back to him and that was that. Flash forward to yesterday, I had reached out to confirm our move after looking back in my emails from the last time we used them and seeing they had sent me an official confirm and confirm number (none of which Sam sent me) to make sure I was good to go. Of course, as I feared they did not have my reservation even though I emailed Sam multiple times asking if anything else was needed to confirm our reservation. I was told by the gentlemen on the phone that Sam would be contacting me to sort this out and that because I didn't pay a deposit (a deposit I was never asked for by the way, how am I supposed to know as the customer that a deposit is what he needed to put me on their calendar if he didn't freaking tell me that) that they were all booked up and would most likely not be able to move us. I called them and emailed them all day (I was told managers, owners etc would be calling me to figure out options and help and not one person ever called me back) I had to call them every time and was ping ponged around and given "call back in an hour" over and over. So I called end of day at 5 (they close at 7) and their phones were shut off... and have been off still up until this point and not a single response to any of my emails. Btw we booked movers because I am recovering from breaking 5 bones in my foot and would not be able to move our stuff safely with a half broken foot. So now here we are 4 days from our move with zero help or resolution or options from this company, never heard from a single manager or the owner like I was told I would, and had to scramble to book a moving truck ourselves and will have to move my house with a broken foot because of their lack of follow up and scheduling error. We reached out to other movers in the area all of which, of course , are booked since this is so last minute which is really upsetting. Also, I noticed after calling them all day yesterday and today, they managed to change their address on yelp and their website to reflect Glendale CA when it said Pleasant hill CA (and are a Bay Area company) between the Time we booked in June and yesterday while I was playing phone tag with their employees. Not sure what that's all about. I understand times are hard right now but I received ZERO customer service, answers to my questions, or a resolution or options to make this right as I have an email thread with Sam confirming my reservation and the error of not having it on calendar or a deposit collected was their fault not mine. Their quality of service has gone downhill and seriously declined from the first time we used them to today. Horrible way to treat someone who was calm and nice considering the situation and just asking for their help figuring out a way to make things work. Unreal.

They followed all of my instructions carefully and made sure my belongings--especially fragile and breakable items--were packed securely and with great care. What stood out most was how thoughtful they were throughout the process. With kids in the home, they made sure everything stayed safe and organized while they worked, which gave me so much peace of mind. They arrived right on time, worked quickly, and even finished earlier than expected. I scheduled them for three hours, and they got everything done in just two. Tyson was especially helpful--he went above and beyond by offering useful moving advice and pointing out a few things I should consider packing separately or taking care of before the actual move. That kind of insight was incredibly helpful during what can be a stressful process. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the service and would absolutely recommend them to anyone needing packing assistance. They made this part of the moving process so much easier, and I'll definitely be using them again for the move itself.

In the meantime, I needed movers to extract a few items for my temporary housing set-up. Not knowing anyone out here, I asked Broad St Storage (who I also highly recommend) and they put me in contact with The Moving Experience. The 2 gentlemen assigned to my job were friendly, courteous, and had the utmost respect for my property. It wasn't easy getting the items I needed out, but they managed to do it with precision and care. While the move here was stressful, I'm so glad to say my dealings with The Moving Experience were anything but.

    I rarely write online reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience to protect others from…read moregiving this company money for their move. This was by far the most unprofessional and abusive moving company I have ever dealt with, and I implore you AVOID this company at all costs. If you want your items and furniture to be taken care of and arrive UNDAMAGED or ARRIVE AT ALL (as they did not for me), HIRE ANY OTHER MOVING COMPANY!! They do not care about you or your belongings. Here's a snapshot of my experience: I hired them to move my belongings from San Luis Obispo to San Francisco. From the very beginning in San Luis Obispo, the movers did not use blankets, padding, or any materials to meaningfully protect my items. I watched them place my dresser, nightstand, bed frame, and other wood furniture DIRECTLY onto the concrete sidewalk, then stack everything in the truck bare. By the time my items were delivered in San Francisco, nearly every major piece of furniture was damaged. My dresser and nightstand had multiple chips and scratches, my bed frame and headboard were gouged, my refrigerator had a large dent, and my picture frames were scuffed and chipped, and ripped, some of them irreplaceable. In addition to the damage, some of my belongings never arrived. My rug and lampshade are still missing to this day. During delivery, the movers also brought out items that did not belong to me, including a mattress and multiple framed pictures. I informed them immediately that the mattress was not mine and it was removed, but I was left with another customer's picture frame. This raises serious concerns for me about how customers' property was being handled. The most egregious part of this move occurred during delivery in San Francisco. After the movers arrived, saw the apartment, and began unloading, they did not raise any issue or mention any additional charges. However, halfway through unloading, they demanded an additional $412 via a Change Order and refused to continue carrying my belongings upstairs unless I signed and paid immediately. I was told my items would be left in the lobby if I did not agree. This happened in the middle of the move, after a significant portion of my belongings had already been brought into the apartment. I felt I had no practical choice but to sign in order to complete delivery, and I believe the way this fee was imposed mid-move was misleading, coercive, and improper. When I politely pointed out some of the damage, one of the movers, became hostile. He shouted at me, saying "F*** you man, I'm done," before storming out of my apartment. He left my mattress lying on the floor and the headboard loose and improperly installed. The other mover offered minimal help before also leaving, but the job was incomplete and I was left to deal with the situation on my own. After the move, I tried multiple times to reach the company's manager, Kevin, who was my main point of contact. I left several voicemails explaining that I wanted to discuss the serious issues I had faced. He never called me back--and has yet to do so. Adding insult to injury, before all of this, when I asked to reschedule my delivery from Sunday to Monday, which happened to be Labor Day, the company agreed no problem but sent me a text saying, "Yes, we can do that, no problem, but please tip our guys well as they'll be giving up their Labor Day." Asking for a tip in advance of service is highly unprofessional. I would happily tip for a job well done, but this could not have been more of a disastrous move. In the end, my total charges increased from the original $2,100 "Not to Exceed" estimate to $2,500 after the mid-move Change Order. My belongings were damaged and some items were missing, one of the movers verbally berated me and left the job incomplete, and I was required to sign and pay an additional fee in the middle of unloading in order to complete delivery. The company has since failed to meaningfully communicate directly with me. I have filed formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the California Bureau of Household Goods and Services. This company's conduct during my move was reckless and abusive, and in my experience highly misleading. If you value your belongings, your money, or your peace of mind, I strongly recommend choosing another company. I have attached photos showing the lack of protection and the resulting damage so others can make an informed decision.
