It was dropped off at 7:30am and was pleasantly surprised by a 11:30 pick-up call. Bill's quote for a starter RR was about $450, being a very good price as it would have been several hundred dollars more from a RV center and would be several weeks before they could get to it. The kicker being that it didn't need a starter after all, it was just a wire from starter to relay that need to be replaced, saving me hundreds of dollars more. I never ever walk away feeling like I've been in any way bamboozled, quoted for services I didn't need, or anything close to that. The other great thing is that since my car is a Hyundai hybrid (and one of my kids has an old old BMW) if there are things that 4th Street knows are specific to our makes and models that is not their area of expertise, they'll tell me that as well so I can take the cars to the dealership or BMW-specific repair places. This has only happened a couple of times but I definitely have appreciated that guidance from Bill and staff. A million thanks to Bill and 4th Street Auto in Royal Oak for keeping my car safe and on the road and explaining everything I need to know before any work is done. When I arrived at 9, my car was immediately looked brought in to be looked at. I was taken out to see what the problem was and while I was waiting another customer was also shown what was wrong with her car. Other places I have had to ask to do that since I worry that some might try to take advantage of a person with boobs and long hair. I am usually the worst nightmare for those places since I am a woman who knows how to work on cars. Helped change 4 engines by age 18 and can fix my own brakes. But always enjoy letting someone else to do that since back and knees are well over 50. They were able to get the parts and repair the car for less than the price of the parts on the GM parts website. The waiting room has comfortable padded chairs, coffee, cold water, and even some rolls. Since the parts had to be delivered, I had a couple hours wait. Being widowed with my best friends working on Saturday, I just walked to neighborhood stores and a place to eat. My car waited on the lift instead of being taken to the lot to wait. It was fixed quickly once the parts came. I was able to see the old parts and the new parts on my car. Could have even taken the parts home if wanted ( maybe to make steampunk garden art if I still had a house). Wasn't pushed to buy anything else. It is great to find an honest shop with fair prices. Throw in good service, it might get my business instead of the dealer. My car is 18 years old and I have had it 15 years. Good service will allow cars to last that long. Will be back if I need to have my car fixed.

Can you bring it in Thursday at 8:00am. Of course and I can wait for it. They told me a hour for the job. But turned out it was 32 minutes. So I came back and saw my new friends Jacob, Chad and Dean and they took really good care of me. They were so nice, professional, sincere, and caring about my situation. This establishment is unethical and Roger fixing air conditioning on cars is illegal since he is not qualified to do so. My Mercedes had an ongoing problem of eating Drive Belts. I spent a lot of money replacing it twice…read moreby two different repair shops, along with idler pulleys and a power steering pump. When the belt started squeaking again, I was told I needed to replace the alternator. I was lucky enough walk into South Street Auto Repair. They diagnosed an oil leak was causing the squeak (not the alternator LOL). Drake stayed in touch with me daily, as they walked me through different diagnostics, repairs and costs. They fixed my squeaky belt, oil leaks, manifold leak and failed ignition coil. Brian my mechanic was very cleanly working on my car and paid attention to every detail. Finally, my exhaust is quiet, my belt is not squeaking and a slight engine hesitation that has been on going is resolved. I can't say enough good about this repair facility. I would have saved a lot of time and money if they were the first shop I would have been my first repair shop!!!
