I own a delivery company that subcontracts drivers and some of them drive my Vans. One of these Vans broke down at 6 am Friday Morning, March 15th 2019. By the time one of those highway tow trucks stopped and helped my driver to a safe location off the freeway it was 7 am. Since these tow trucks are part of a program supervised by the highway patrol I could not hire him to take it further. I instructed my driver to leave the keys in the vehicle with the doors unlocked and I proceeded to look for another tow company. After calling a few I called ASAP TOWING at 7: 23 am. He had the most reasonable price to take it from Hayward to San Leandro, about 8 miles,$145.00. I agreed and sent him the information. At 9:44 am he texts me saying there is no vehicle here. He went to the drop off location first instead of the pick up location, despite a very detailed text message which I have attached for your viewing pleasure. He said, "People usually send the pick up location first and then the drop off location." Then proceeded to say, "that's my fault, I will go back to Hayward." I appreciated him taking responsibility for his mistake. He gets to the vehicle and the vehicle is locked! He wants to charge me $65.00 to open it. I, then, called MY driver who assured me it was open. I can only assume the other tow truck driver locked it. Anyway, by the time he got it opened I was able to talk to my mechanic so I changed the drop off location to Concord. He charged $285 and we negotiated $300.00 for him to open it and take it. More to come.....I need to go to sleep. I have been up since 6 am Friday morning and it's Saturday 2 in the morning. I'm exhausted. Alright, 9:56 am Saturday morning, now, and continuing.... He arrives in Concord (at my mechanics home) at 11:39 am and calls me to get further details about the drop off location and asks how I would be paying him. I said debit card and he ups the charge another $10.00 because of merchant fees. Fine, I agreed and he gives me instructions to send him a picture of the card and zip code and tells me he'll send me a text with the charge. I'm waiting for that text before I send him the information and he calls me back at 11:44 am to tell me the mechanic is going to go to the bank to pay him cash. I didn't understand because why would my mechanic pay him? He tells me that the mechanic is talking to my husband and I said, ok, that's fine and I call my husband directly to find out what was going on. It's now 11:58 PM and he calls saying to give him the card information. I go on to say that he must have misunderstood. Anyway, I'm already late for a 12 PM appointment and I'm about to arrive so I take advantage of the stop light, take a picture of my card, and I send him that along with the zip code by text. I run into my appointment relieved and I have no more access to my phone. It's now 1:00 PM, I get out of the appointment, gather my things walk out the door and check my phone. . 15 missed calls, 8 text messages, 9 voicemails from this guy. I didn't check any of it and just called him right back at 1:02. He is screaming at me that he's still there and now it's 380.00 for standby. He starts threatening me and my mechanic that it'll be $600.00 because now he's going to take it back to Hayward unless he gets paid $380.00. He screams for me to check my messages and the times, he won't let me talk and hangs up. My mechanic stepped in to help and he made my mechanic go the bank and get $380.00 cash. We go back and forth by text because he won't answer me. Apparently he also needed the CVV code on the back of the card but he never asked me for that. Not once. Last I looked on my phone was 12:02 running into my appointment. He texted me a minute later but that was a minute too late. That's on you. You to me picture of card and zip code. That's it. I sent that to you. Done. I don't know what happened at the drop off location but this guy has been dealing with me all day, back and forth, aggravating me, treating me like crap and I put up with all of it, agreed to every charge, followed all of his instructions, sent him everything he asked for and I pay the price? Not ok. The world does not revolve around you, guy, I have a business to take care of and a night job as well which I was an hour late to thanks to you. I didn't get home till midnight so don't tell me about work and "what about you?" WHAT ABOUT YOU? DO YOUR JOB, DO IT RIGHT, AND PAY ATTENTION. I just called this guy up who kept interrupting me as I'm trying to explain to him my situation. He asked me if I was this person on certain street with a certain car and I try to explain to him no. He wouldn't let up so finally I said stop and listen to me and I'll tell you when I'm done. So then I explain myself and told him he got confused and thought I was somebody else. What you need, when you need it. Progressive had me sitting in a parking lot past midnight for 2+ hrs when I needed a tow and my insurance company sent some one in a SEBRING!?!?!! And told me it would be another hour before they could get us. ASAP quoted me over the phone and was at my location within 20 mins! (Granted I was in Hayward, pretty close) but still! Wally was great, he helped us figure out what the issues was with our car and even helped with some electrical tape to fix our issue for the night. Didn't even use this guys service. Just called now and the guy was so rude. At first i thought it was a cultural language barrier (Im asian I get it) but as the conversation progress he continues to get very aggressive. Towards the end of the call I said "Im sorry I cant hear you very well" and he has the audacity to start his next choice of words with "Listen LADY". The conversation was literally 2 mins and 5 secs. Wow! This was such a great experience! The price was completely reasonable, even though it was at night on a weekend. I had a situation where I quickly needed a tow since my cars transmission blew out in Oakland, I knew it would go to the tow yard if I didn't move it soon, because of where it was parked. I started calling towing services on Craigslist, I called close to 10 different services but wali was the only one that answered and said where are you? Where do you want to go? What kind of car? WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Do yourself a favor and call a different towing company in the same area. The driver does not care about his customers at all. I gave them a call, told them where my car is located and where I needed it to be taken to, and the guy said it was $85. 20 minutes had passed so I gave him a call because he told me he was only 2 miles away. I asked him where he was and he said "well I'm driving right now" and just hung up. Like, what?! When he got there, he told us it was $90 instead. The money wasn't the issue, it was how he portrayed it. He said "it's $90, not $85. Want it towed or not?" Then when I asked him, who was it who told me it was $85 on the phone? All he said was "I did but it's $90 now, want it towed or not?!" He just kept asking that and backing his tow truck up at the same time. When we refused his rude service, he drove off.
