    1st Quote from Dickerson's Continued

January 13, 2024, we saw a 2012 Honda Odyssey EX-L on Asay Auto's website, advertised as $10,995 at 140,000+ miles. Worked with Ty, a salesman. Red Flag #1: Wanted to pay cash, said they'd give me a discount if I financed. All dealers get a flat from the institution that finances (around $500 +) the loan, that's why they encourage this. When asking, Chris, the finance manager, he said it was them 'honoring the online price'. Red Flag #2: We inquired about inspecting the vehicle, they said "yes, we encourage that." In order for us to do that, they said we would have to put down a $1,500 deposit, that is non-refundable, told to us by Ty. We then asked if an inspection was done and if anything was wrong, they said no and the inspection passed. We took their word for it. After we purchased the vehicle, Chris confirmed this by saying: "Let's say you have the vehicle in the shop, getting an inspection done, and we have another customer wanting to look at that same vehicle. We're out of a potential sale because they can't look at the vehicle anymore because it's being inspected. They could have bought it as is, without an inspection, so they're out of money because of that. Then, if the inspection comes back with things wrong, we've lost a sale with you because you won't want to buy the vehicle anymore. So that $1,500 is to cover any lost sale costs." Really!?!?! Red Flag #3: Ty kept mentioning that they've received a lot of calls regarding this vehicle. Sure....you've had it since Nov 2023. Red Flag #4: They provided a worksheet that didn't add up. When involved Chris, he explained that the $1355 discrepancy was just part of the package, a GPS and a covid cleaning. This was not discussed with us as optional, even though it says on the paper that you don't need to buy it as part of the vehicle. They kept saying it was part of the vehicle package. Even after all this, we decided to take their word for it, and purchase the vehicle as is, no warranties. Nine days after the purchase of the vehicle, our check engine light came on and noticed a puddle of oil in our garage. We took the vehicle to a mechanic the next day (January 23) and upon inspection, they found several things wrong with the vehicle; which included: Catalytic Converter, Leaking Front Spool Valve, right valve cover Gasket and Rear Shocks. This quote came in the following day (January 24) at $4,000. We showed Brock, a salesman, the quote. He asked if we purchased an extended warranty. I told him no, and he said that because we bought the vehicle as is, there was nothing he could do at that moment, but requested a copy of the quote so he could give it to the owner, Richie, and he would have him contact us. We got a second opinion and that came in around $2800, finding the same problems. 3 additional visits with Asay Auto physically has gotten us nowhere. They never follow up. The owner, Richie, finally responded after a 4th physical visit and said, "That's not what my guy told me. That's not how they are trained". We demanded a refund on the covid cleaning and GPS, but the best they could offer me was $500 and for us to sign a good will form, whatever that means. He said he would send that form to us but never did. Asay Auto knowingly sold us a car to our family that knew wouldn't last long without repairs. In talking with our mechanics, they said there is no way Asay Auto didn't know, because it wouldn't have passed inspections or emissions because of the catalytic converter. We ended up paying $2,800 to get it in working condition. And a new battery. Asay Auto doesn't care about you, especially after the sale. Be very careful about purchasing from them. I get the risk of purchasing a used vehicle, but if a business is selling you a vehicle, you shouldn't have these problems 8 days after you purchase it. DO NOT GIVE THEM BUSINESS AND DO NOT BUY THEIR VEHICLES. They will never follow up with you until you just give up, because that's exactly what they want you to do. 0 stars if I could. Attached are quotes and addons you don't need.

Scam Alert. They list their cars super cheap online but add on a bunch of hidden fees.

Avoid these people. Tried to buy a car for over a week and kept getting the run around. Don't care about your business nor seem to want it.

Ok, so I just got a slamming deal on a Land Rover from Planet Auto. I wasn't looking for anything…read moreexpensive, and frankly I needed to buy something with cash, so this car seemed perfect. Phillip helped me out, and he's a stand up guy. Really enjoyed the conversation, and especially the candor. I'll be frank -- I have worked for the slimiest, most depraved auto dealer in Utah, so I know my way around gimmicks, double speak, and bull crap. The guys were 100% honest with me, and when they realized I knew the industry, they backed up their honesty with information proving their good faith in the deal. These guys don't buy wrecked cars (FYI - auto history reports are a joke - most the used cars you've bought have been wrecked), they price more accurately to the market, and their family is the good sort (look at my last name -- I could be going to my family's dealerships). Anyway, stand up operation. Much applause. On a personal note -- thank you...life has been tough lately, and you guys were very respectful of that.

Dishonest and not-transparent. Left feeling like I had been ripped off, which is exactly the fear…read moreeveryone rightfully has when going to a used car dealer. I absolutely regret trusting Plate Auto Sales. Here's what happened to me: 1. After negotiating and agreeing on a price for the purchase, I shook hands with the sales rep who sent me back to the finance office to complete the transaction. At that point they charged me upwards of $1,000 of 'hidden fees' that they did not disclose during the entire sale process. They said the fee was to cover "overhead." In every other business, the cost of overhead is built into the price of the product. It's dishonest and sleazy to just throw it in at the end as a hidden fee. An honest person just tells you what the actual cost of their product is and lets you decide. 2. Immediately after getting the car home and washing it, I discovered that the layer of dirt that was covering the car when I purchased it was hiding the fact that the entire car was hail damaged. The damage is extensive enough to total the car. And there was absolutely no mention of that damage during the sale. It was evening time, the sun had set, and the dirt covered it so neither I, nor the mechanic I took it to, caught the hail damage. Another blatant case of dishonest from a company that claims to "carefully inspect" each of the vehicles they sell.

Kellen showed us the two cars we were interested in and gave great advice on which would be better for our needs and the price, which was exactly what we thought also. He showed us car fax and comps for similar vehicles within 300 miles and their prices are a bit below average. He stayed late, answered all our questions, wasn't pushy and gave us time to discuss what we wanted and the opportunity to think it over that night. We hadn't planned on buying right away but when we found what we wanted, we couldn't pass up such a good deal. He followed up the next day and was really helpful in getting things set up to purchase. Probably one of the best car buying experiences I've had. Highly recommend Kellen at Shamrock Auto.

Hear me…read moreout: We were in an incredible bind as a family - needing to take our 3 month old daughter to some specialty treatment for her seizures across the country. We weren't sure what to do - because we had more to take then our van could fit. Brady and Kellen heard about our story and reached out to us to see what they could do. To make a long story short, they found a way for us to use one of their vans for a cross country trip - just so we could get our daughter the medical care she needed in New Orleans. This really isn't the thing you do if money is your main aspiration and pursuit. Their kindness and trust made a HUGE difference for us as a family - not only in being able to make the trip comfortably, but learning some things to help our daughter Olivia, who has a serious seizure disorder. It's hard enough to know who to trust these days, but maybe especially when you're looking for a car. From experience, I can tell you that you can trust Brady and Kellen. I know they care about people - and will treat you fairly. This is the kind of business we should support, celebrate and invest in for our communities.
