We came here for a pick me up before going to Castleton Mall. It is easy to find, located in a strip that has a parking lot in front. Walking in, I noticed the ambiance and seating. I love the plants! I liked that they had different kinds of seating options. Looks like a nice place to come for a study or gather with friends. I noticed in the middle table kids were playing a game of cards, so it is kid friendly. It wasn't busy when we came in, so we were greeted and attended to quickly. I only saw a small menu on the side wall of the order counter and seasonal drinks written on a chalkboard sign on the order counter. I told the worker that it was our first time here and if she had any suggestions, but she didn't offer any. I was trying to look up drinks on Yelp, but a line started to form behind me so I just ordered a Cortado (expresso and steamed milk --I got oat--) and my hubby got a iced Cuban. It came out to less than 10$ which is less than Starbucks. Nothing too special about the Cortado, but the Cuban was pretty tasty. Not sure if they just have a basic menu with seasonal options or what...I think my experience would have been better if I was informed about that. Tried Ascend Coffee for the first time this morning. The coffee shop is in a shopping center so there was a lot of parking available. The shop itself was pretty spacious with lots of seating. When I arrived there was a line with only one person working. Another person did show up while I was in line to help out which did speed things up. They were working really hard taking orders and making the coffee. I got a Brown Sugar iced chai with a shot of espresso and a savory scone. They are always so kind and inviting. Their homemade syrups and pastries are unmatched by anything else I've tried at other coffee shops in the city so far. I cannot go there without getting a savory scone. It is way too good to pass up. This is a great place if you need a space to work, collaborate, or just hang out with friends. I've been in a ton of times since they opened and the staff is always so warm and welcoming. The specialty drinks are good, and I love that they offer standard pastries AND a gluten free/dairy free option. (My little dairy free heart is always happy to see that.) I ordered the honey cardamom latte, and I was pleasantly surprised with the mixture of flavors as well as the sweetness level. Most lattes with honey that I've had have been pretty sweet, and I enjoy a less sweet latte. This latte was perfectly balanced; I don't know how they got the honey flavor without a large amount of sweetness, but they did. I also enjoyed the prominence of the cardamom flavor. Our Indy Coffee club had an event at Ascend Coffee and it was a great time. The ambiance was very nice and unique. The booths were very comfortable and stylish. I went to the counter and ordered a Peach Tea. The staff were very friendly and professional. I did notice they had an Orange Vanilla latte and a Mint Lavender latte, which sounded very interesting and delicious. They also sold a variety of baked goods and pastries. I did get a breakfast bar that they sold, and it was wonderful! I noticed the staff did not call out the order when it was ready, and I had to go up to the counter to confirm the Peach Tea. They might want to consider taking people's names with their order and writing it on the cup like other coffee places do, so they can keep track of the order and call out people's names when the order is ready. Someone could have walked off with my Peach Tea and I would have never known it. Other than that, my peach tea was wonderful and tasted fantastic!! Everyone else was very happy with their coffee as well. The Mint Lavender latte did get rave reviews. Ascend Coffee offers complimentary water as well to its patrons, which is a very nice touch. This is a great place to hangout and unwind with friends over coffee. You can also work here and get some work done with their complimentary Wi-Fi as well. This cute coffee shop is a hidden gem! The service was very friendly and a staff member was making scones from scratch in the open kitchen area which was fun to encounter. Coffee was straightforward which I appreciate and cold beverages were served in mason jars which is cute! My sister found this coffee shop while looking for one to go today. I think it's relatively new since I don't recall there being a coffee shop near Castleton mall. I had the Lavendar Oatmilk Latte and it was good - not too sweet and I liked how strong the taste of the espresso was. The decor is cute and everything is very clean. They don't have a lot on the menu, but they do have seasonal drinks. There are some pastries and I had the Orange Glazed Scone and they have 50% Yesterday's Pastries. The plants on the wall are real and there are several seating areas. For non-dairy milk, they only have almond and oatmilk, and among the syrups, they did not have caramel (which is what my sister usually gets). Overall, I'd be back if I'm in the area. read more

I've been here 3 times for work and coffee with friends. The coffee and pastries are great. The staff is kind and positive. The cozy ambiance offers lots of different seating options - couches, big tables, standard tables. No matter what you're coming in for, there is a seating option for you. I stumbled upon Ascend while in a neighborhood I don't frequent. They are tucked away in a strip mall in the Castleton area. The inside is decorated simply with lots of seating- tables, high tops, benches, and a few couches. There is greenery everywhere, which made my heart happy. The menu is pretty standard for a coffee shop, but they offer seasonal drinks and pastries. It was a cold fall day, so I did what any millennial would do in the beginning of October. I ordered a pumpkin muffin and a vanilla maple latte. Both were perfect for the weather. The vanilla maple latte was flavorful and not too sweet and the pumpkin muffin was super moist . They had every type of milk you could possibly want which is important to those of us with a lactose intolerance. The staff was super helpful and very welcoming. One thing to add they share a parking lot with a pretty big church. I went on a Sunday morning and parking was almost impossible but I don't see this being an issue other than Sunday mornings. read more

Amazing! Warm and summer glow up atmosphere that's too easy to drop down for hours, accommodating seating and both solo and group tables, this is a well thought out cherry bean, yes coffee is a fruit, roasted house! I only tried a seasonal mint lavender latte with almond milk but immediately started talking myself into coming back for the others. It is a friendly environment where over half the staff seemed to know everyone coming in. I was thankful to find this super easy location offering plenty of parking. Good rewards program too, tap to pay, and the pastries and small treats looked perfect to pair with a drink. There are few spots in the whole Indy area like this, free of the typical smug espresso class, and rewarding the time spent with a superb soundtrack. I wish I'd gotten my baristas name, he was great! I'm not any sort of java judge or even aspiring coffee connoisseur but I've sampled plenty between Ohio to California to compare. The product and service were both fantastic! Our barista, Caleb, was great at helping us pick drinks we would enjoy. Their house made syrups were great, far more flavorful than "sugary." The honey cardamom syrup was incredible. Their pre-sweetened matcha wasn't too sweet either.
