Unfortunately my mom passed away in February 2019, but this company and team helped her pass away with dignity, comfort, and peace. And really, with a lot of love since she was at home surrounded by her loved ones. The A Plus Home Health Care team responded to my family's urgent and ASAP needs on the drop of a dime and when my mom passed, they even attended her funeral services. I don't know if there's even enough words to thank this team and company, but know that you and your family are in the best hands. Thank goodness for the people at A Plus Home Health Care . Right from the start I had a very good interaction with Delma who if I had to guess runs day to day in the office. She got the ball rolling right there on the spot and had a list of people from P. T. and nurses I would be seeing for the next few weeks. I couldn't think of any other people I'd rather have taking care of me after surgery then the people at A Plus Home Health Care . There's Amareet, ( I don't know if I've spelled any of their names correctly ), nurse Cathy, Delma, Robert and Kathleen from P.T. Each one of these people were caring and skilled at their job. Kathleen was just the best. From my well-thought-out exercise regimen to answering all my questions which people tend to have a lot of after having surgery. She called Robert in to have a look at my hip for the amount of swelling I was having. It was great having someone to talk to that who was able to put you at ease and let you know that what you were experiencing was normal . I can't say enough about all of these people and the wonderful company that they work for. I honestly don't know what I would've done if if I hadn't had the help these people provided. When you're scared, unsure and overwhelmed with information, it's nice to have people that take the time to listen to you and provide the care that you actually need. Thank You.

Our families experience with Bristol Hospice was very disappointing…read more The team promised comfort and consistent care for my mom including music therapy and relaxation aids but those services never happened. Different nurses arrived and despite repeated requests there is still no schedule after 3 weeks. A hygiene aide came but left my mom in her same clothes with no pants and just a diaper. Her anxiety medication ran out and while we were told a refill would be coming no could say when. We also asked for a meeting to address our concerns but it was rescheduled several times and no one ever followed up. At a time when reliability and compassion were most needed we felt unsupported and overlooked.

This was admittedly a weird situation. My mom was signed up to receive hospice care. We decided…read moreto remove her from hospice care for several reasons. After doing the paperwork to remove her from hospice, I discovered that a med change had been made which I (as POA) was not told about. I was left in the position of a med prescribed by the hospice provider that couldn't be renewed because she was off hospice. All fine and good-except they had changed the dose. Her primary doctor wouldn't authorize the change so I couldn't refill it. Bristol refused to discontinue the med change because they were no longer providing services. I was left in that position. AND if that wasn't enough, my mom is in a memory care facility so if they did not give the dosage that Bristol ordered (without telling me) they would be out of compliance with the state and could be fined if licensing reviewed med records. I argued my way up the ladder so to speak and got them to change what they did. I would NEVER use this agency again. One star is only because no stars is not an option.

Carmen and her staff are kind, caring, and very attentive. My mother has been bedridden the entire time, and she has never had a bed sore or any other serious issues. The house is spotless, the meals are made in the premises, and the staff show genuine interest and concern for the clients. I am extremely fortunate to have found such a great place for my mother.

Outside is a pleasant, large deck surrounded by trees, shrubs and flowers where we often like to visit my mother. But aside from how nice the home is itself, the care here is what is ultimately important. The caregivers really treat my mother well, just like a loved family member. She is 95 and wheel chair bound, but she is always treated with respect, included in conversations, and encouraged to share her wit and sense of humor. We know that she is comfortable, she eats very well, and she likes the owner and staff here. And they like her!

It quickly became obvious that I was going to need full-time in-home care for her during my absence. That evening, I made a phone call to Visiting Angels of Livermore. They offered to provide a full no-commitment assessment, and I accepted. The next day, Mr. Keith Beck, Executive Director, came to my home and evaluated Mom's situation and needs. Mr. Beck was on-time, professional, organized and efficient. Following the assessment, we were introduced to a recommended caregiver who, assuming my approval, would be responsible for Mom. She was professional, very conversational with Mom and an experienced caregiver. By the end of the appointments, I was confident that Mom would have good, comforting care while I was gone. I was extremely impressed that Visiting Angels responded so quickly, and was also able to provide and dedicate quality staff in a timely manner. I continued the caregiving services on a part-time basis after I returned home as Mom was still not quite stable. Another caregiver was introduced and assigned. After a couple of weeks of continued part-time care, Mom became much better and I was comfortable with stopping the services. I highly recommend Visiting Angels of Livermore. All of my experiences (and my Mom's) were positive. It is a very well managed business with a reliable, kind, and supportive team: owner, office staff, and caregivers. Thanks to Visiting Angels I was able to enjoy my vacation. I will definitely use them again when and if the need arises. The items are in great to excellent shape. My first experience with them as far as donations was when I needed a couch to be picked up. I heard they would pick up items. When I called they gave me the third degree and acted like it had to be brand new for them to pick it up. My couch was perfectly fine to donate and the family who received it was more than happy. Because in the end, I told Hope Chest to just forget it! They obviously didn't want my donation. Well, today I called ahead of time and the person I talked to said, "Make sure you don't have a truck load of donations right before closing!" She didn't say anything about them not accepting toys of any kind. I would not have wasted a trip. I also agree with some of the other posts, their prices are pretty high for a thrift store. Yes, sometimes the manager will work with you. But I don't like to haggle. I would rather just see a good/fair price, pick it up and take it home. I also wish they would have student/teacher discount day like some of the other thrift stores have. It would be nice. :)

As a family, we were scared, overwhelmed, and navigating something none of us were ready for. The hospice team became a source of strength and comfort. They answered our questions with patience, guided us through every step, and provided reassurance when we needed it most. Their compassion extended beyond my mom and embraced our entire family. A couple in particular felt like family. The love, dedication, and tenderness they showed my mom will stay with us forever. They celebrated the good moments with us, sat with us during the hard ones, and helped ensure that my mom's final days were filled with comfort, peace, and dignity. Losing my mom has been heartbreaking, but I find comfort in knowing she was cared for by such extraordinary people.
