Love this place. Great prices for such tasty food!! Very tiny and quaint inside very unsuspecting. Great for quick bites. The service was excellent! I'd definitely recommend.

Went here for the first time today and loved it. While it's no-frills, it's actually so pleasant and cozy inside - I wish I would have stayed and eaten there instead of taking my order to go. The matcha latte was one of the best I've had and the food was fresh, filling, and delicious. I only had to wait a few minutes for my order, and it was all in all a pleasant experience. I'll definitely be back!

I am obsessed with this place!! The iced matcha with oat milk is one of my favorites in the city and I have been to so so many cafes and tried so many different matchas. The onigiri and the seaweed wrap are also quite yummy, made with gluten free rice! The last thing I got was a side of the tofu salad which also was so delicious. The menu rotates out and is run by one woman who is so sweet! It's far from me but I will definitely be back for more matcha and to try the breakfast options.

The pickled daikon wrap. So freaking good.

Cute spot in Greenpoint with incredibly sweet and kind service. Not to mention delicious!

Was early for a meeting nearby when this cute cafe caught my eye with its cheery yellow exterior. You have to be patient to order because only one customer is allowed inside at a time. The owner is very sweet and friendly ; she is the only one taking orders and packing up your order. Credit card are accept with $10 minimum. I tried the Spicy Tuna Poke - which was featured on the menu written out on post its. It's healthy comfort food - spicy tuna poke, avocado chunks, arugula over a bed of rice seasoned with fresh ginger and pickled daikon - but simple and delicious. It reminded me of the snack / light lunch that I used to have in Hawaii. I really appreciated how thoughtfully composed the rice was for taste and textures and was not just a plain blob of filler rice. What a find! And a pleasant surprise to find a little bit of Hawaii here in Greenpoint.

This is a very authentic Japanese cafe and I'm all about it. Happened upon a recommendation to follow their Instagram for daily specials! I walk by this place every day on my dog walk and so glad I finally tried it. First thought... The prices are very reasonable. Paid $6.75 for the poke bowl, $4.00 for for rice ball and $5.00 for the avocado bowl. We were worried the portions were going to be small, but everything was very filling! The rice is super yummy and has beans/different grain types. I will definitely mix things up a bit next time and try a salad or soup, because everything we got was pretty rice heavy. Overall, definitely loved it and will continue to try things on the menu!

Adorable little Japanese cafe with comfort food and excellent prices! Aptly named for its location between ash and box street. It's currently delivery only which wasn't an issue as we took our lunch to the park nearby. Excellent quality food and quite filling! I got the salmon avocado bowl with a tofu mushroom salad on the side.

Delicious, vegan friendly restaurant with Asian inspired fare. The woman who runs it is an amazing cook who also works as a personal chef for the uber-rich. There are no keto options on the menu, but they were very accommodating and adapted their turkey egg brunch item to not include any fruit or rice so it was keto friendly. They have a large assortment of teas, including matcha, as well as a fridge full of fruit and vegetable juices for the health conscious, which seems to be the target market here, everything is very healthy.

Most Asian…read morerestaurants in this neighborhood are fancy sit-downs, so it was exciting to see a quick, casual stop for Asian "finger food" (for a lack of better word) within my vicinity. Joju specializes in modern Vietnamese cuisine, serving meals like bahn mi, loaded fries, and rice meals. The menu recently added soy garlic wings, and since I am a fiend for Asian-style fried chicken, I of course had to have it. While all of the beverages looked tempting, especially their non-alcoholic soju refreshers, I needed caffeine to offset the afternoon slump that was about to follow, so I ordered a Vietnamese coffee. The wings were huge! It was notably crunchy, saucy, and juicy. There was a decent skin to meat ratio, (I so hate biting into a mouthful of breading), and the meal came out piping hot. It was clear the chicken had been fried per order. Those who know me know that I can't live without rice and would eat it with almost any meal, including fried chicken, so I did request it on the side, although the wings don't come with it. The man who took my order did me a solid and served it with mine, anyway. Good lad! I've been wanting to try Vietnamese coffee for a while now, and it was everything I imagined it would be. Sweet with a bitter backend - but not too bitter! I'm still new to coffee, and I pucker up at anything too intense. This was just right. My meal at Joju satisfied me, mind, body, and soul. I hope it is here to stay, and I hope that a shop like this is a catalyst for other quick Asian food stops to follow. Korean and Filipino restaurants - I'll be waiting!

There was a line, of course, there always is, and the wait was longer than what we were willing to endure for fare as simple and as common as a sandwich. It was worth the 20-minute wait. We ordered the Milano special, packed with cold meats, tomatoes, pickled peppers, cheese, and lettuce between two soft sesame rolls. It looked magnificent. It tasted magnificent. It was a sandwich to rule all sandwiches. I'd brave the line for that any day.

Proscuitto burtata (amore) - fresh fresh fresh and quality ingredients. The proscuitto was perfect along with the burrata, arugula and balsamic glaze on ciabatta which was sweet mix. We were deciding on this one and the proscuitto tomato but we are glad we got this one! 2. Chicken caesar salad wrap- I think I could easily say this is the best caesar salad wrap i've had. The dressing was light and not overpowering with the mix of the chicken, croutons and outside wrap was a truly stellar combination. Very fresh and wasnt soggy one bit. the cookies: small black n white cookie, rainbow cookie and chocolate sprinkle and all were hits! my favorite was the black n white because the icing melts right off the soft cookie texture and tastes more like a cake than a cookie. There are a few locations, but I decided to visit this one because it was the most convenient for getting to and from home. I got there around 7:00 PM, which felt a little close to closing time since Google said they close at 9:00 PM, but it wasn't busy at all. In fact, I was only the third customer to place an order. I ordered the La Summer sandwich and added pesto. After sitting down and taking my first bite, I immediately understood the hype. Without a doubt, this is one of the best sandwiches I've had in a very long time. I'm not even a huge sandwich person when it comes to subs and deli meats, but everything tasted incredibly fresh. The ingredients paired together perfectly, and you could still taste each one individually. The only thing I'd change next time is the meat. I had no idea prosciutto was a type of ham, but honestly, it didn't even taste like ham to me. It was sliced paper-thin, slightly salty, and worked surprisingly well with everything else. Next time, though, I'll probably add salami just to see how it compares. Overall, this sandwich was a solid 10/10, and I will absolutely be back--whether it's to try a different sandwich or, if we're being honest, order the exact same one again with salami added. I will say it's on the expensive side, but that's New York City for you. Apparently, all of the ingredients are flown in from Italy. After tax and tip, I paid a whopping $28 for a single sandwich. That said, it was incredibly filling and definitely kept me satisfied. The workers were also really nice and accommodating, and the indoor seating was beautiful. The atmosphere felt like a fancy Italian café, complete with couches and artwork throughout the space. I wish I had taken pictures, but honestly, I was too busy enjoying what might be the best sandwich I've had in years.
