Gorgeous local blooms & excellent service! A few weeks ago we decided to have our wedding on our original date despite the global pandemic. Joanna and team were able to quickly respond to our change in plans and make us bridal bouquet, boutonnières and beautiful Mother's Day bouquets. The blooms were gorgeous and brightened our intimate wedding. I loved that our flowers were grown only a few miles from where we live in Oakland. Joanna and team are responsive and we're grateful to be able to support a local business. We can't wait to work with Joanna and her team in the future! We've also enjoyed getting flowers delivered to our door as well during these unsettling times.

Where do I start?? Owned by women and growing flowers!! This farm is awesome and I had a chance to volunteer for a day. It's no secret, my passion for beautiful blooms but to actually experience the process from beginning to end is phenomenal! I planted what is referred to as plugs for the day. Basically it's the beginning of the seed that needs to be transferred to a larger container. The plant has about one or two leaves and appears fragile. I learned how to use one hand to make the hole and the other to insert the plug. Which isn't easy people! I also learned how to not have air pockets which will prevent the plug from growing properly. Last but not least... I learned that you should expect at minimum a 30% loss from seed not producing into a plant. Whew..was that an education! Talk about relaxing your mind and being at one with the earth. This is the place to be! I throughly enjoyed myself and had a sense of accomplishment when I left! They shared their lunch with me, which was the best egg salad I ever had! By the way...I don't even like egg salad but this was excellent. They each take turns bringing healthy treats which is a standard practice in the farming community. Joanna, the owner let me pick my own boutique before I left! That made my day! If you have a chance to volunteer on a Tuesday or Thursday, send them an email! You will throughly enjoy your experience and flower 101 education! My last two cents...CARHARTT clothing should be sponsoring the all women team!

We just went to a wedding where Bluma did the flowers and were they ever so beautiful and creative. Bluma flowers have a magic to them. The San Fransciso chronicle was even there for a story on Bluma Flowers! I felt like I was in a field of wild flower. You can feel the heart and quirky spirit of Bluma's owner, Joana Letz. Her flowers bright a sense of joy and fun to any event.

Bluma made a gorgeous bouquet, boutonniere, and centerpieces for my wedding ceremony last month. We had a Covid-friendly outdoor zoom wedding, so the ambience and accents became an even more important aspect of the ceremony than normal, and the flowers were a huge hit. My sis in law worked directly with Joanna, looping me in as needed, and communication and follow-up was easy and smooth. She delivered the flowers right to our door the day before the ceremony, plus a few squash blossoms from the farm :) Everything is organic, fresh, local, sustainable, and the colors and flowers she chose were spot-on with what we talked about. I can't recommend Bluma enough!

These women made a gorgeous arrangement for my daughter's birthday. B/c of covid I couldn't be there to celebrate with her but their TLC did help to make it special! Thank you Bluma Flowers! Fran P

Joanna created the most beautiful, creative floral bouquet for my wedding. Everyone commented on how unique and artistic it was. It made me so happy to hold it and show it off! I would hire her again for any floral needs I have. Her choice of flowers, colors and arrangements are truly original.

Joanna and Bluma Farm made all of our wedding dreams come true. Upon asking for a whimsical look for our summer wedding in July, my husband and I were truly blown away! She was able to provide just that. Looking at the website for the availability of seasonal flowers was so easy. She was available and promptly responded to every concern. As wedding planning can be insane, having the right kind of people in your corner is so crucial... I made some decision errors during this time. But hiring Bluma Farm was NOT one of them. Thank you so much Joanna for providing a local product... not to mention woman owned small business!

Bluma Farm provided mixed buckets of flowers for my wedding on 9/23/17. Joanna Letz, the owner, was easy to work with, and took the information I gave her about my palette and delivered incredible flowers & greenery for our event. It went above & beyond what I'd hoped for. Thank you, Joanna! I will definitely be using you again for all my floral needs, and recommending you to friends...

Just got my first bouquet and it looks amazing. Definitely a unique arrangement that stands out from your typical dozen roses or 6 tulips.

Ask the Community - Bluma Flower Farm

I would love fresh flowers delivered............ I would even drive to the farm if it was worth the time, but the website does not provide ANY information on delivery, bouquet sizes, costs, delivery area, etc. Where can I find that information?

My bf gently touched one of the plants he wanted to purchase to fully inspect it before purchasing, but then the owner started berating us profusely. He went 0-100 & it was scary how deranged/out of control his anger quickly rose to. We genuinely apologized to him for touching the plant and for not having seen the very much faded and small sign that was hidden behind all the other plants. But alas, the owner kept going, escalating his anger, and began hurling insults at us calling us stupid even as we were on our way out. Seems like he's capable of being a decent human being to the others who have left good reviews. Based on this selective decency/kindness, I wouldn't recommend anyone to even take that gamble.

This is a double win for me, because it means that I get to be friends with someone awesome who also happens to know a whole lot about flowers! Which is exactly what I needed when planning the flowers for my wedding because anyone who knows me knows that I don't know much about flowers other than they look pretty and smell nice. Jess and the folks at Emilia's took my unclear ideas - a jumble of adjectives and a wrinkled photo from SF Bride and turned them into a work of art. I have never been too good at the small details and probably wasn't that helpful when I said things like "Oh, you know whichever flowers you think are best" or "I don't know, I kind of like the roundy, pointy, purpley yellow ones." However, the ideas some how got communicated because the flowers at the wedding represented everything I had dreamed they would be. Unique, jauntily vibrant and locally inspired. Whether it's for an everyday pick me up, a lovely hostess gift or a wedding, you can count on the florists at Emilia's to help you make a beautiful statement in a poem of flowers. I completely recommend them for lovers of floral niceties of all kinds!

The selection of flowers wasn't great, including not having baby's breath available. The bouquet was wrapped hastily and poorly in brown paper with gaps in between, it wasn't cut evenly or neatly, and was crinkled at the bottom. The bouquet ended up being quite small for the price as it only had a few roses in terms of the most expensive flowers. I could have easily arranged it better by buying flowers at Trader Joe's and wrapping them myself. With the poor service and lack of attention to detail, you'd be better off going elsewhere.

The leaves were light green and very healthy. Most orchids here are 45 dollars. There were many orchids but most were just nicer versions of what you can find at cheaper places like Whole Foods. There were some exotic ones that looked like giant three feet tall yellow orchid trees with sprays of tiny yellow orchids. Since the moth orchid is easy to care for, I opted for the moth. Note that the orchids priced at 45 dollars don't come with pots. The orchid is displayed in a pretty pot but the plant doesn't come with it so be prepared to dish out more cash if you want a pot too. Since I have many pots at home, we just purchased the orchid. The purchase came with a tip option which is strange since it's not a service or restaurant. The florist did tuck it nicely into a box and some tissue paper. He gave us plenty of good instructions like make sure the orchid is bone dry before watering again (every 2-3 weeks). He advised a small amount of fertilizer with each watering and no fertilizer during the winter months. After a five dollar tip for his orchid tips and taxes, my unpotted orchid in a thin plastic container came to 55 dollars. I would say that this is a great place to get orchids for a seasoned orchid lover but you can definitely buy very nice ones for about one third of the price at the local supermarkets like TJ's or Whole Foods. They also carry really exotic ones you can't find at supermarkets though I don't know how hard it would be to keep them healthy. In any case, I'm already thinking about going back to check out the tree like orchid and to talk to the florist about how hard it would be to own one. Cute place for lovely orchids but a bit pricey.
