There was constant turnover -- the hygienist seemed different at nearly every cleaning, and my dentist changed multiple times. With each visit, the overall bedside manner felt less personal and more rushed. There seemed to be little concern about explaining treatment plans or helping elevate concerns I had. What ultimately concerned me most was the treatment planning. After seeking several second opinions, I was told by other dentists that some of the recommended treatment recommendations, including crowns, were aggressive and unnecessary. That raised serious red flags for me. I also began to feel uncomfortable with the front office staff. There was noticeable pressure to agree to additional services, and when I asked questions or declined treatment, the response sometimes felt dismissive. Because of these experiences, I decided it was best to switch providers. I hope they can refocus on consistency, patient communication, and more conservative treatment recommendations in the future.

I recently went in for a routine cleaning. During the procedure, I was told I had to wear the black plastic protective glasses, or I wasn't welcome there and should leave. When I explained to Dr. Timothy Luong that I'm severely claustrophobic and have a history of panic attacks from previous life-threatening surgeries, he showed zero empathy. He didn't listen to my concerns at all--he simply insisted on the glasses and, when I couldn't comply due to my medical condition, asked me to leave immediately. This complete lack of compassion and accommodation for a legitimate health issue was shocking and unacceptable. No effort was made to discuss alternatives or understand my situation. I felt dismissed and disrespected as a patient. I will never step foot in Ascend Dental again and strongly advise others to think twice before choosing this practice. I admit, I'm a little obsessive about white teeth. I regularly bleach mine at home so they were…read morepretty white when I came here. I was hoping to walk out with teeth so bright, you'd need shades to look at me. Well, that didn't exactly happen, but I did whiten my teeth 3 shades in 60 minutes, not too bad. The darker your teeth are the better your results.You begin with a plastic shade guide that you hold next to your teeth to determine your starting tooth color. The higher the number the darker your teeth - it goes to something like 20. I was between a 1 and 2 when I arrived. They have you fill out a form with your info, then sit back in a massage chair (nice touch although it's a pretty cheapy one). They put a bib around your neck, a plastic thing in your mouth that holds back your lips from your teeth. They put some vitamin A on your lips and gums, then apply the whitening gel to your teeth. They give you some styling red protective goggles (I should have got a pic, I was dang sexy!), then put a bright light up next to your teeth and tell you to relax for 20 mins. At the end of 20 mins (which feels like forever when all you're doing is sitting still in a massage chair), you rinse your mouth with water and check the shade of your teeth again. Mine had lightened to a 1 to -1, woo hoo! Then you repeat the whole process. After each session (there were 3, 20 minutes each) my teeth had whitened 1 shade. I ended up at a shade of -2, the whitest on their chart is is -3. I walked out feeling great and happy to be done sitting in a chair staring at the ceiling. When I got home, the bf said, "I don't see a difference." That was a bit of a let down, but I figure it was only because my teeth were so white to begin with. You can't eat anything for 2 hours afterwards, and have to avoid dark food and drink for 24 hrs. so no coffee, wine, etc. My teeth were super sensative a few hours later and it lasted until the following day. But that generally happens with teeth whitening, so it's expected. The best part about this product is that it's 100% natural, it's plant based so it's good for your teeth. There's no bleach in their product so it's safe even for children. The whole process is $149, it's a brand spanking new business so it's not super classy or upscale but it's a good deal none the less.

I did a search on the internet and found many different businesses in Las Vegas that offer whitening. I chose Organic Tans and Teeth Whitening after speaking with the owner over the phone. Annette explained the process to me and worked to schedule and appointment that would fit with my busy workdays. The teeth whitening consisted of two twenty minute sessions with quick breaks in between to rinse and reapply the whitening gel. The procedure was painless and I remained relatively comfortable despite the intrusive tools involved. Afterwards Annette explained that my teeth were very porous and went over a list of food I should avoid for the next forty-eight hours. The results were immediate and very noticeable. I will make another appointment in six months to maintain my pearly whites.
