I had the unfortunate experience of visiting Exotica Skin Care, and I must say, it was mostly due to the owner Kris. She was incredibly pushy when it comes to selling their products after services. It's like they care more about making a sale than actually providing a relaxing experience for their customers. Not to mention the relentless pressure to upgrade your facial treatment. No matter what you initially came in for, they'll try to convince you that you need something more expensive. It's a blatant attempt to squeeze every last penny out of unsuspecting customers. And let's talk about the prices. I've never walked out of Exotica Skin Care without spending less than $150 for a facial. That's an exorbitant amount of money for a service that should be about self-care and relaxation, not breaking the bank. But the worst part? The last service I received was an absolute disaster. Not only was it subpar, but it actually left my skin burned and ripped off. It was painful and incredibly distressing. When I approached Kris about a refund, she was anything but accommodating. Instead of taking responsibility for the damage done, she only offered a partial refund, as if that could compensate for the pain and inconvenience I endured. Her lack of empathy and unwillingness to make things right speak volumes about the kind of establishment Exotica Skin Care is. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place at all costs. I found this place through Groupon for a Brazilian wax. The facility is clean and service is friendly. I came in and immediately was greeted with a warm smile and asked to wait for my esthetician. Timea walked out and asked me follow her to a private area where I was told clear instructions prior to my service. The area was clean, and had enough space for me to feel comfortable. During the service, she was communicative about what she was doing, and what to do. In addition, she was friendly by also getting to know me since I am new to area (and part time living here). I need to warn customers about chemical peels. I had told Timea I wanted to lighten up some of my dark age spots on my face, she recommended a chemical peel. What a nightmare! Around day 3, my skin turned red, itchy, spots had started to develop liquid inside. Not to mention my skin was also peeling, this part is normal after a chemical peel though. I ended up in urgent care and they gave me antibiotics and prednisone. Timea was very patient and did try to accommodate my needs. However, the owner was not very responsive in providing any compensation whatsoever for this incident. I guess because I signed my skin away before we started the process! Perhaps a discount for future services would be thoughtful but this did not happen. If you have sensitive skin you probably want to stay clear from chemical peels from them! read more

This studio is in a convenient location in Henderson and I purchased my first facial through Groupon. Galina did such a lovely job I purchased a 4 facial package. I had my second facial with Galina today and it was even more wonderful! She's very professional, knowledgeable and gentle. After chatting about my "mature" skin concerns she recommended the coolest treatment that's like an instant facelift. I can't really describe it except to say that after microdermabrasion she applied a gel and used a sort of electrical micro-current that tones your facial muscles. After that, a mask and LED red light. My skin is glowing and feels amazing. Galina also provides a mask for home, in between visits. They have a complimentary coffee bar and a variety of skincare products available for purchase, I picked up a serum and under eye cream she recommended. My husband and I got facials today at Exotica and we can not express enough how amazing our experiences were!!! I had Galina, and she was AMAZING!! We talked beforehand about my problem areas and left it up to her for deciding which treatment should be done - she recommended micro needling - which I've never done before - but I am sure glad I did! I was worried about pain tolerance and redness but the whole process went smoothly. My skin looked glowy and the treatment only left me with mild sunburn effects that went away within a couple hours. She massaged my neck and arms which was incredibly relaxing and much needed! My husband had Taylor for his first facial ever. He went in skeptical about the benefits/discomfort about getting a treatment done, and left a believer in taking proper care of your skin - even booking another treatment in a month from now. Came for a Brazilian wax. first time here with Galina. I didn't see multiple sticks or a separate cup used. I should of ran when she was ready to do the other side and redipped same stick into the pot. She also started blowing on the wax when I told her it was too hot. I felt uncomfortable when I saw all of that but figured I was overthinking. I checked with my friend cause she gets waxed often, said NO they double dipped. (To kill pathogens it has to be 212 degrees which would cause burns) Its unsanitary esp for bikini waxes and there supposed to use a separate cup or different sticks each time if they reinsert it into the metal pot. Pray no infection - Skin was hived up when I looked down right after and some pinpoint bleeding. read more

I got a facial here a while back and is all I can say is I won't be back because of the owner. From the very beginning when I first walked in she touched my face right away (without gloves) and said "the damage is bad". I have acne and was hoping to just get some extractions done that day but she sat me down first to try and tell me that I needed multiple treatments that would cost several hundred dollars. She said that "before I even take your money I need to tell you that the dermatologist won't help you". After that conversation we agreed that I only wanted Oxygen Facial for that day and so we began extractions. She was very rough and did a lot of extractions. After excruciating pain I saw Galina to finish the rest of the facial and she was really kind and helpful. They work fast and efficiently, but they take care of you without compromising quality. I believe I have gotten waxed by everyone (Kris, Galina, Timea, Taylor) at some point, and they are all excellent at what they do.
