There are a few perks: free cookies, a coffee station all day, breakfast in the morning, but what really sets this place a part is the staff. We recently stayed here while planning a celebration of life nearby and had to sort through items that had recently been damaged by a fire. We tried to keep to ourselves or keep the mess to an absolute minimum, but we did sort through some old family albums and a suitcase full of heirlooms and jewelry, taking up some space in the dining areas and lobby for a place to sort and clean. I was fearful that the staff would be annoyed with us or ask us to leave, but they were so gracious, and helpful at every turn. Whenever we needed something, a trash bag, or a helping hand to the dumpster, they were quick to assist or tell us they would handle it so we could keep going. When you're planning a service of some kind after a tragedy, it's very easy to feel lost, but the staff at this Hampton Inn were some of the kindest people we'd ever met. Even some of the guests got involved offering to watch our belongings if we needed a bathroom break, or to find scissors or print something. I can't say a huge enough thank you to all the staff who helped us through all of the chaos and made us feel at home when we were grieving. Everything was clean and tidy even on a busy weekend and the free breakfast was yummy. They even had some cleaner options. Chairs are not easy to find so be prepared to wait on a busy weekend. One elevator went down and they had it working by the next day. Great! Oh and Ana at the front desk was also very kind and helpful! Feedback: the waffle station boasts high fructose corn syrup free (which is so cool) but then the spray for the waffle maker has poly 80 in it which is horrible. Id love to see something cleaner. There is a wet bar in the room but it doesn't come with plates or silverware. For the size room we had and with a family I thought this stuff would be there. When I called to have some delivered they told me to come to the front desk to pickup. Not a huge deal but a little annoying. Bar and restaurant prices are super expensive. Service was great though! I went back at 4:30, the same young dark haired gentleman was on the phone, he was trying to get in contact with a housekeeping supervisor because someone had been trying to get in touch with them for three weeks, the gentleman got really mad at housekeeping and said "fuck you" and hung up on her, all this was going on while I wasn't acknowledged. I was shocked! After he finally was done with his little temper tantrum he didn't say I'm sorry about that or anything like that, he said can I help you? So I said who I was he gave me my room keys, there was no explanation about anything regarding parking, pool, beach etc. just here are your two bottles of water and you'll get two a day (never happened) his behavior was gross if I'm being honest. Now I'd like to mention a few things about my room, I stayed in room 602, the shower has black mold in it, and there is a constant sound of what sounds like an electric drill being used in the ceiling in the bedroom, to say this was an underwhelming experience is being kind. I won't be back, I'm a woman on disability and it takes me awhile to save for vacations, I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Fort Myers and there were no issues. I didn't even bother with breakfast this morning because yesterday, the waffle batter ran out as did the orange juice. As a person who used to be in management I wouldn't even know where to start with your establishment, I can tell you I cannot wait to sleep as the banging of the "drill" noise was awful! I'm also going to add, that when I was there a few years ago there were always issues with the elevators, that is still the same! I had opened the slider when I got there and a maintenance guy came because I thought the cord was missing from the phone (but they are now cordless) and the guy literally started yelling at me because the ac was on and the slider was open at the same time and it could cause a flood in the first bathroom. The only saving grace to your hotel is the beach because the pool had young guys playing beer ping, little kids running around and babies screaming, it would be great to have an adult pool and a family pool, and if your out in the pool area beware of the crows! But back to the beach, it's clean, relaxing and it was nice that the guy who takes care of the chairs and umbrellas explained that there isn't food and drink service to the beach, that's very misleading in the signage! I booked using our group link, but when I updated my guest count from 2 to 3, the system changed my reservation and removed my special rate, which included discounted parking and a $24 daily breakfast coupon. The front desk employee at check-in was polite, gave us water and cookies, and noted the issue, but he couldn't restore the coupon since the block was handled by another department. Management never followed up. The property itself is outdated and shows heavy wear. My room had a musty odor, stained carpet, a peeling chair, and two large ants that I had to kill. The bed was comfortable and the fridge worked well, but the shower tub wouldn't drain, leaving standing water on my feet. Staff offered to move us, but I declined since it was only 2 nights. Housekeeping was a strange experience. We didn't need full cleaning, just fresh trash bags to empty our own trash. The housekeeper was friendly, but said she didn't have any trash bags because our room wasn't on the cleaning list. I've never been to a hotel where housekeeping couldn't provide a trash bag. Getting a 1pm late check-out as a rewards member was also a runaround. I was repeatedly told to check back on the morning of departure. When I messaged at 9:30am on check-out day, I was denied again until I voiced my frustration over the entire stay, at which point the agent finally accommodated the 1pm request. Despite the procedural headaches, every employee was professional and respectful. Joe, the bartender, was fantastic and very helpful with wine selections. Additionally, after leaving for the airport, I realized I'd left my purse in the room. I called the hotel, and the front desk agent answered immediately, located it right away, and had it waiting safely for me. The employees did their best, but the owners needs to refresh the property, and management needs to give the staff better authority to resolve basic guest issues. This hotel would not be my first choice if I were back in the area.

The labels for hot and cold water on the shower knob are faded. We took cold showers. The staff never showed up to fix it as i predicted. The owner has the nerve to charge $15 for parking on top of all of this. There were lamp shades outside our door. The whole experience made me feel I was taken advantage. i met another guest who was as skeeved/disgusted out as i was. I am certain this hotel is also being used as a shelter for those in need or do not have a home. I have nothing against those in need but that means quests who are on vacation are sharing the building whose lives are unstable. The owner, Whitman Organization, is obviously trying to bleed this business for everything it can get out of it. Its called put in the least to get out the most money.
