However, we always find a quality Noble fir if even we have to hunt a bit. This year was REALLY unusual. The Monday after T Day we went with the idea we'd have to spend time searching. The most helpful young man pointed us to a new field of Nobles. And there, no more than 10 feet in from the path was IT (visions of Clark Griswold!). There were countless more even after that Turkey Day rush. The same man came by in his tractor and asked if he could cut it down for us. He had a chain saw. I had a hand saw. No brainer!! The service and selection are first class. Topping this off is the gift shop, where you pay, has all sorts of Christmas related things, including fresh wreaths (which we bought)

When we first started going, the Patch was very simple ... they had a large pumpkin patch and little stand with other smaller pumpkins, gourds, straw bales, corn stalks, and the like. They also had fun wooden cutouts of famous kid movie characters to stick your head through and get pictures, along with a number of old-timey tractors for the kids to climb up onto. Each year they have added more, and this year it was full of kid-friendly activities. There is a small little playground with a slide and see-saw, a large tractor pulled hay rack ride, a faster four-wheeler pulled ride where you can sit in barrels like a train, a small corn maze, a straw pit for the kids to jump into, and a pumpkin cannon (the littles might need headphones for the loud boom). They have also added a little cafe stand with beverages and treats. Dollar for dollar, this is a great value for your money. Let's face it, everything is getting expensive nowadays, but your money is gonna go much farther here at Goodrich Rd. Pumpkin Patch than at other places. Plus, it's not overwhelmingly crowded and crazy-filled with near amusement park type attractions like some other more expensive patches. The owners and staff that work there are extremely friendly and 100% family-friendly. They know folks come here for fun and to be out with the family - they treat everyone like that and are helpful, kind, and caring. The field was small and the strawberries were on the smaller side, but that was expected and similar to other farms we've visited before. The reason I'm writing this review is because of an uncomfortable checkout experience. While we were waiting in line to weigh our strawberries, we noticed the staff member at the scale zeroing out the container for the customers ahead of us so they wouldn't be charged for the basket/box itself. She even explained it out loud, which we thought was considerate. However, when it was our turn, she did not zero out the scale. We didn't say anything at the time and assumed maybe it was an honest mistake. What felt disheartening was that immediately after we paid and stepped aside, she zeroed out the scale again for the customer right behind us. My friends, who are of Hispanic ancestry, felt very uncomfortable and singled out by the interaction. I don't want to accuse anyone of racism or say this was intentional, because I don't know that. But I do think it's worth sharing because these kinds of small differences in treatment can really affect how people feel in a space. Our overall experience was okay, but that checkout interaction left a bad impression.

Last weekend in June to experience U-Pick Strawberries at most farms in the PNW. Picha Farms is…read moreabout 15 minutes away from us, so we headed out early Sunday morning to pick some strawberries. It was a bit confusing determining where we needed to go. We used Google Maps and it defaulted us to what appeared to be the prepicked strawberries and berries concession. I had to look back on the Instagram page to figure out where the actual plot of land was designated the U-Pick for the day. That was a bit frustrating because it was a video of a screenshot of where to go. No actual address to plug into the map, not even coordinates. The strawberries are $4.15/lb, which is fairly priced. The strawberries that we were picking in our designated row were very small; some were over ripped as well. We didn't stay too long, maybe 30 minutes or so. Our total was $9.50, so a little over two pounds.

They create space between groups so you get your own surprises. If you like haunted venues, this was fun. Probably best for kids over 9-10 although younger kids were there. You can go through during the day when it is only props and no actors. Definitely worth the trip.

I come out here every year! We loved cutting sunflowers, and each picked out a pumpkin or three. Our rule is you have to be able to carry it to the scale/car yourself... LOL! I also bought some decorative mini pumpkins I painted in a style like Kusama Yayoi and surprisingly it took the pumpkins about 8 months before they rotted so I had an awesome little decoration for a long time! Fast Forward a year later, we had a surprise arrival and brought her to the pumpkin patch when she was about 7 weeks old. We didn't get any pumpkins this time around but still enjoyed some fresh air and taking a few photos and grabbing some fresh produce. The patch is only about 15 minutes from our home so we will likely be doing every year!

During our visit, there was a few fresh produce products available for purchase such as nectarines, peaches, plums, zucchini, watermelon and corn. Packaged items such as honey and chips were also available. The Hot Sauce Festival was the main attraction of the day so there was a food truck on-site as well. Blistering hot pepper starts of several different varieties could also be purchased for those with green thumbs. Unfortunately, that isn't me. After sampling several fiery hot sauces and marinades it was refreshing to be able to order and consume an ice-cold craft beer from McMillin Farms brewery on-site. Red and white wine is available for those who do not care for beer. Beers were pricey at $8.75 each; however, keep in mind that you are supporting a small and local business. I look forward to attending future events at McMillin Farms.

As a community volunteer, I volunteered at a recently held a car show at McMillin Farm Brewhouse in…read morePuyallup as a fundraiser benefiting our local area veterans. While we appreciated being allowed to use the event space at no charge, unfortunately, the experience had several significant issues that affected both our organizers and their participants/volunteers. The event check-in began at 8:00 AM (with check in at 7 am) and the show ran until 2:00 PM. Despite this, the main entry gates were not opened until 10:00 AM, even at the organizers request to please open it by 7 am. The response was an adamant "NO" . This created a major problem because the directions provided through MapQuest directed attendees to that entrance. Participants arriving for an 8:00 AM event were therefore unable to access the property as expected. While there was a back entrance to said location, there was no signage directing attendees or participants to that particular entry. The organizers were also told that they could not have a food truck providing a free breakfast for their participants because it would compete with the venue's food service. The problem was that there was no breakfast service available to our attendees during the time they were arriving and participating in the event. For a fundraiser supporting our veterans, having the opportunity to provide a complimentary breakfast would have been a meaningful benefit to the participants. Communication was another major concern. There was little to no signage directing attendees, no apparent advertising or promotion of the event by the venue, and very limited communication with the organizers before or during the event. When you're hosting a public event, particularly a charitable fundraiser, clear communication and coordination are extremely important. I understand that the event space itself was provided at no cost, and I'm sure the organizers are grateful for that. However, "free" does not eliminate the need for reasonable communication, accessibility, and coordination--especially when an event is being held for a charitable cause. The event location must realize their name is also tied to this event and after what I and several others witnessed, I would never support anything at this location again. My hope in sharing this review is that future event organizers will ask very specific questions about gate access, signage, food options, event promotion, and venue responsibilities before booking an event here. I'm sure the organizers wanted this to be a positive experience for their participants, volunteers, attendees, and, most importantly, to raise funds for our veterans. Unfortunately, the lack of communication and coordination made that considerably more difficult than it needed to be. In fact, given last year's event welcomed well over 100 cars, this year it attracted only 22. The organizers were lucky to have broken even. But the biggest loss was to those whose time, and energy, committed to participating and volunteering, for an event that had such a low turnout, was wasted.

On the last day of our trip on our way to the airport we just so happened to be in the same area the smoked salmon company was in so we decided to make a stop so we can purchase more to bring home. The staff was so nice. The lady at the front desk went above and beyond. She helped us with our purchase and even exchanged a product we hadn't refrigerated properly. She packaged our tasty treats in ice perfect for our short flight home. Delicious products and excellent service!
