I bought a new electronic recliner for my wife in September 2021, just before she had a full knee replacement. The salesmen added the 5-year protection program to the bill for $149.00. My bad as I should have seen and questioned it when I got my receipt, but I did not.... The reclined motor failed on January 2, 2022. I called customer service. It took 2 weeks to get the replacement part, so I had to buy a replacement chair for my wife. The tech came out and replace the motor in the seat, but then told me the wiring was defective and the button panel that controls the motor was also defective. He told me he would order more parts and follow up with me. Four days later, i had not heard from anyone so I called customer service again. This time I waited on hold for 2 1/2 hours. Customer service told me the order for replacement parts had been placed but that the parts would not be available to ship until sometime in February!!! I asked them to replace the recliner, but they said that request would probably be denied! Customer service was terrible. The store does not back up their product warranties and the 5-year protection program they add to every bill is not even affiliated with Ashley and is worthless. Judging by other reviews, I think I got (kind of) lucky in my experience here. Partially because of what I bought - a dresser and a unique bookcase. This store wasn't my first choice - had visited a few places looking for these specific items, and it was either out of my price range, or something I didn't like as much. So this was like the last chance on my furniture shopping day and wasn't expecting to find anything here. First off, I do not like when salesmen follow you around asking so many questions. I get they are trying to sell / be a "designer"... but AS a designer AND someone who's worked retail at a furniture for almost 4 years, this is a big deterrent. It's bothersome and puts unnecessary pressure on the customer, as well as doesn't let me look at stuff I didn't come in for but might buy (one of the main rules of retail). Example: salesman kept following me around asking what color dresser I was looking for. I said "probably black" (but knowing it's one of those, "I'll know when I see it" type of situations), but checked and measured all of them myself after he pointed them out. But, I found one I liked a lot better than wasn't black at all. Aside from this, getting followed and badgered with questions didn't make me that comfortable browsing other items not on my immediate needs list. Onto the financials. Since I had just moved I had received a 20% off coupon in the mail, but didn't bring it (since I didn't know we were stopping by here), but thankfully the salesman gave me 40% off the dresser, and my bookcase was already 50% off. They charge an extra $90 for delivery and assembly, which honestly is super worth it. But also, you don't really have a choice. Despite this, I still got a good deal. An hour+ after I left the store, they called me to tell me they double charged me. Okay... so... just refund the card. No. Can we do it over the phone?? No... okay??? Again, as someone who worked retail, this is kind of unheard of. Why are you making the customer DRIVE BACK to the store, and then not offer compensation when it was the salesman's fault they double charged me??? I was pretty disappointed with this. My pieces got delivered intact and quickly on a Sunday afternoon during the correct time slot we confirmed via text the day before, so that went by pretty smoothly. In conclusion, mixed experience (and will be cautious if I return) but I am happy with my new pieces. read more

They could of just given me the chair on the sales floor, but they made me wait an hour and a half to repair an unrepairable chair. It's unfortunate I have to leave this bad review since we literally furnished our entire house with Ashley originally 8 years ago. So when we needed a new couch that was more comfortable for me after having two back surgeries, we naturally went to Ashley. Huge regret!!! They are very nice when they want your business (as others have noted) but once the order is in and paid for, good luck! We received email and text notification of a confirmed delivery date and had our previous couch removed from our home. Come to find out, this was a "false" confirmation. Customer service apologized and said it's a system error and those emails and texts are inaccurate. Um, so I'm supposed to know to not trust communication from you?!? It's been over 2 weeks and I still don't have a new couch. Another customer service rep called and gave a new delivery date right as I received a text of a completely different date. She then suggested I call the store and have them reimburse the delivery fee for the inconvenience. The store experience is by far the worst! A very very rude lady (Miriam) answered the phone and after being placed on hold numerous times due to her incompetence and alleged system problems, she became overtly rude! I had to keep re explaining the reason for my phone call. She then insisted they don't waive delivery unless they make an error. I literally had to spell it out for this idiot employee. I also told her 3 customer service reps suggested I do call the store since they were the only ones authorized to waive the fee. I asked to speak to the manager "Medi" and of course they were conveniently "unavailable." I knew from her rude attitude this manager was either never going to get my information or he/she encouraged this substandard customer service. (I'm a manager myself and I'd fire this employee for numerous reasons!) It's been a week and (shocking) no phone call from the manager or anyone from the store. Run away from this place! We purchased a sofa sleeper back on January 30, 2021 with a premium delivery date of 2/20/21. We are STILL waiting for our furniture. I've reached out to Ashley Furniture soo many times since then and they still just say the item is not in stock. The estimated delivery date just keeps getting pushed back then I finally got an estimated delivery of April 25. So I called Ashley the next day to request a replacement and was told that their team would be in touch via email, but they were not and after nearly three weeks, I contacted them again and after being hold for a long while, she said that she'd have to put in a new request and assured me that their team would be in touch in 2-5 business days and they finally were, but not to pick it up but with a return address and that I would be responsible for all shipping costs even though it is an unusable chair. I agreed nonetheless, just to get rid of it, only to learn that they meant I would have to arrange and pay for it directly. I submitted requests for calculations with FedEx and UPS, both were over $500, the chair cost $300, so I contacted Ashley again to ask that they arrange shipping that would surely be less than what I would be charged as an individual, that as a company, they would have resources that I don't, I was even willing to pay up to $300 just to get this out of here, even though defective, but they replied that they weren't a shipping company. So how do you pick up defective items? No reply to my several emails. A whole month with this giant box in my living room, checking my email and spam daily, my poor Autistic son asking daily if they would pick-it up today, I said maybe tomorrow, but that never happened. I considered donating it to charity, but wouldn't wish this rock that thay call a chair on anyone, my next call was the Dept. of Sanitation to pick-it up as trash because that's what it is. Well, I wish I look at yelp before making the mistake of buying at Ashley. I made the leap, went to the store and paid for a couch with the expectation of delivery in 4-8 weeks. I was given 2 different delivery dates, as the chaise was available at a different time as the couch. I got a good deal on the couch (so I thought), and paid $1000 below ticket price. 4-8 weeks came and went, and still no couch. Months passed by, 5 canceled and rescheduled delivery dates later and still no couch. After taking multiple days off of work so I could be here for delivery, after talking constantly with the Ashley customer service, and 4 months later, I reached out to the Better Business Bureau to open up a claim about my couch that hasn't arrived. It wasn't until I did that, where my next delivery date, actually happened. The only problem this time was I received half a couch. When I asked the delivery guys where the rest was, they were unsure. When I called Ashley to ask where the rest of my couch was, they had no answers or information or future delivery dates. They just said "oh you didn't get it?" And that was that. 5 months in and finally, I received my couch, my whole couch. Look, I understand that due to COVID, a lot of factors are contributing in furniture orders taking a while. However, there is no excuse for lying to customers, knowing whole heartedly that 4-8 weeks is unrealistic. I wouldn't have been upset if I was told my couch would take 5 months. Because of Ashley's lies, I had to cancel Thanksgiving, Christmas, and I lost 3 days of work that I had taken off to be here for deliveries that were scheduled, confirmed the day before and then never showed up the day of. The customer service is not awesome. I feel bad for them because I know its not their fault but what an aweful way to do business. I won't ever buy from Ashley again and I will tell everyone I know and continue to meet about what happened. If you look on the Ashley Facebook and Instagram, you will see thousands of customers experiencing exactly what happened to me. I can't see how Ashley will come out of this successful. Terrible quality furniture for exorbitant prices. I purchased a fabric sofa set complete with ottomans and not even 3 months after use the fabric started to pill. I am not excessively using the sofa and both my husband and I are not heavy individuals - I weight 98 pounds and he's 145! Might I also add that neither of us are couch potatoes and just from the light use of the couch it has started to pill and become misshapen. I also take very good care of any item I own. I paid close to $3k for "on sale" furniture that I would have at least hoped would last a few years. I also got suckered into the furniture protection plan, which doesn't cover fabric pilling. I would basically need to "accidentally take a knife to the entire sofa for the fabric to be repaired under this protection plan - so ridiculous. My fault for buying from Ashley Furniture. Found a couch online that I liked and it appeared at two stores, one at a store in New York that ships for free, price was 1100$. Ashley had the same couch for 1700$. I called and asked if they had the couch in stock and they said yes. I asked if they price matched and they said yes. So my wife and I went to test out the couch and decided we wanted to buy it. When the saleswoman brought the paperwork out, I showed her the printout I had brought for the price match. Her smile disappeared. She went into immediate defense mode. After a bit of back and forth, she said she had to ask her manager. When she came back she said they could not price match because they "only price match other Ashley stores". Ok. That makes no sense and if it's true just shows you the operation they are running as far as markup. I told the salesperson that we would just order online and said goodbye. She went back to the manager. When she came back she warned is that the website we were looking at only did curbside delivery, so we would have to carry it up ourselves. She said for 1400$, they could deliver and assemble. I didn't buy this. I said, nah, for 1100$ we can have someone else assemble. Back to manager. She comes back to us and says that the only way they can do 1100$ is if I buy the extended warranty (we all know this is how the money is made). Warranty was about 250$ I believe, been a long time. I ask her what it covers, she said any and everything. Rips, tears, stains, fading, breaks in the frame, etc. So I caved thinking that we were buying was a high quality piece of leather furniture that would only get better with age. What I really bought was an 1100$ piece of crap. In less than a year, the stitching started to rip away. No hard use, no kids, no wear and tear. Nothing. I call up to claim my warranty. That is where my one star begins. Claiming any warranty from the company that they conveniently outsource, is the worst experience you can imagine. The whole process involves picture taking, emails, follow ups, more calls, more emails, more follow ups. It took over a month for someone to come out and fix the couch. When the guy got here and took apart the couch, I got to see what a piece of crap this actually was. 2x4s, plywood, staples. He stapled new leather on and was on his way. It ripped after 30 days. We didn't want to go through that process again so just lived with it. Then the frame broke from literally having a seat on it. Called back. When I reported it the customer service rep said she would have to look into my coverage because "jeez, we paid so much for that first repair". It's been over a month and a half and 5 follow up calls and emails, and nothing. Never get the warranty from this place. BBB gbsent.com and see for yourself. The couches here look great and feel great for the time that you are in store. They are crap. But mostly, the warranty they sell you on is essentially worthless. Our old living room set was beloved...but had given us all it had. It was time to move on and I got an idea from Pinterest and proceeded to find the sofa I envisioned. We saw it online but when I read the Yelp reviews, I opted not to try Ashley. As is usual in these cases, I didn't find anything that worked as well as I believed the Ashley set would so we finally went in. Went I around 4 on a Sunday. Had no hassle shopping-our salesman introduced himself and directed us to the sofa we came to see but let us be as we looked around. Once we decided, he gave us a great deal...but wait there is more. Somehow a mattress came up and he gave us a really good deal. Our furniture arrived today (15 minutes early)! The elevator. was too short so the guys walked it up three flights. After having a very bad experience at the Downtown location, we called the Burbank location and asked if they can help us since the Downtown location did not want to help us at all. The manager quickly told us to come to their location and he will take care of us. And OMG he is a man of his word. We were treated so much better. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE NO DOUBT! The salesperson was very attentive and listened to our concerns. The manager was accommodating and we showed him the advertised sofa we want that was on sale. He said that they were sold out but he showed us a similar sofa and he stated he will honor the sale price for this sofa and we were amazed. The sofa was just what I was looking for. SCORE!!! Since we were here at this location and loving the hospitality. We were also in the market for a new dining table. So the salesperson showed us a few dining tables. We told him exactly what we wanted. We wanted a round table that can fit at least 6 chairs. He showed us one and I fell in love with that table. It was just what I was looking for. The manager again was very accommodating and really took care of us. He even threw in 4 sets of plates for free. Now here came the tricky part, we wanted the dining set and sofa arrived by a certain day. They delivered our items on time with no problems at all. I am very disappointed in the service that I received at Ashley Furniture in Burbank. In my experience, they were only interested in making a sale and were entirely unconcerned with customer service or even in delivering a complete product. I spent almost $10,000 on a Tempur-Pedic mattress, a leather sofa, and a leather armchair. I didn't notice any issues when the delivery came because I was in the process of moving. Shortly thereafter (less than 3 days) I realized that they had not delivered the pillows belonging to the armchair and that the bed was too small. I called corporate right away and they told me that they could replace the mattress because I had called within three days. However, when followed up I was told to call the Burbank branch directly. I then reached a store manager named Freddy who turned out to be very rude and entirely unhelpful. First, he told me that there was nothing he could do because I should have called back within three days. He didn't believe me when I told him that I had called corporate within that timeframe and said that he would need to see a screenshot of the email as proof. When I sent him screenshots, he proceeded to say that there was still nothing he could do and that he "should not have bothered asking for proof because it changes nothing." He then sarcastically offered to send me a copy of the return policy that I had signed "in case I couldn't remember." The best they could do was offer me a gift card to make up for the fact that I am missing part of my expensive armchair and can't fit on my own bed. I went to Ashley because their furniture looks nice and seemed to be a good deal, but what a mistake that was. I wound up wasting 10k on furniture that either doesn't fit or was incomplete. When I walked in Mirta helped me answer every single question I had not only about the product that she was helping me find but about why I may be experiencing pain with my current mattress. The Oxnard store was great at selling us the furniture! When our living room table was delivered it looked good. Until we centered it with the couches and realized the manufacture didn't center the top of the table with the legs! Ran out and the drivers were gone! Had there technician come out and he said he couldn't fix it. I received a message yesterday that they wouldn't replace the table. No call back number and only the first name of the person calling. I spent 3 hours on the phone. Finally got through to get the same answer! They gave me a $50.00 gift card to write a good review about them! That didn't happen!! DO NOT BUY FROM ASHELYS!!!!!!!!! I wish I had read all the terrible reviews before making my purchase at Ashley's. I have no idea where to start from since not a single thing went smooth with my purchase and till today I am still fighting with Ashley's. I ordered couches in August and Ashley's told me I should be getting everything in October. Guess what! I am not getting everything in until January 2021! Lets not forget how disrespectful and unprofessional the general manager Medi was. I can not believe the way Medi handled my situation. I spent so much time going back and forth with Ashley customer service because Medi kept ignoring my phone calls and kept hanging up on me. Even the customer service department reached out to him so he returns my calls. I finally had to take time off work to drive down to the store. This company will do anything to sell you furniture. TRUST ME DON'T DO IT! You are better off paying extra and not going through the stress. You are going to deal with delays, damaged furniture and the worst customer service. You will literally be talking to a brick wall and no one is going to care to help you. They will just send you a b.s. $100 gift card which won't solve your problem. read more

I purchased about $15k in furniture a while back. I furnished a two bedroom townhome. Most of the furniture had damage that they used a sharpie type of marker to cover up all the knicks and scratches. The beds all had to be retrofitted as their design of these thin particle board rails to hold the bed are a joke. Anyone who would think these bed frames can old a bed and two people are idiots. Overall the quality of the furniture is on par with ikea but you pay 4 times as much for it. Honestly do not buy a bed frame from them as they are designed like complete shit. I bought 3 sleigh beds. They lasted two weeks before they liquid nails and cheap screws broke off on all 3 of them. I notified them of the crap they sell. Then I get the standard BS run around. We have to send someone to look a them. They need to make their suggestions on how we should fix the issue. Then management will determine what action they'll take. Then we'll send someone out. Then we'll cross our fingers that we didn't skimp to much on fixing our shitty beds and hope they hold up. Look straight up. Everything I bought was scratched, dinged, looked like a floor sample or just broke within a few weeks of getting it. Even the lamps had poor quality patch jobs on them. I am not sure how this place is still in business as the quality sucks. I mean it's like buying a Chevy. You know it's going to break down on you. You just don't know when. Two stars because are sales associate was very nice. But don't buy the furniture. It's just cheap particle board crap behind the scratches and dinged up finishes. Sorry I should've wrote this review years ago. The reason I am just righting it now is because I had a put all this crap furniture in storage hoping one day I'd be able to use it. I threw it all away today and realized how I was analy raped without lube paying so much for glorified ikea furniture. Can't believe this place is still in business. The quality is horrid. Got a bed frame delivered today. Multiple cracks, headboard feels used. Because we got a threshold delivery, we are supposed to take it ourselves to their Warehouse in Colton, 2h in traffic one way. So we paid $800 for "here is the bed, if you have issues, you figure it out". They dont know the hours and they dont know the exact logistics of how this exchange is going to look like. They give you corporate numbers to call, but their corporate numbers tell you that is not their standard procedure of handling the exchange. Quality is worse than what we had before, which was a $200 bed from Amazon. Awful. Stay away. read more

I would pay money to have this place shut down. They blame other departments for shortcomings and never resolve any issues. The delivery person lied about coming and claimed that I denied the service. It is taking me 2 freaking months to get storage unit. 2 months.When i asked for it the next day they tell me 2 more weeks because it is coming from overseas. I asked them what does that have to do with anything. You claim to have tried to deliver it a few days prior. Nothing. Speaking to a wall is better than anyone in this company.
