I'm not sure why this place has such bad reviews. I purchased my first home last year and I've bought most of my furniture here ( bedroom set, living room set and most recently - dining set). All those times I came here, I received great customer service. They were patient with me and I didnt feel pressured at all to buy. They were also knowledgeable of their products. I love their deals here. You can find furniture sets for as low as $1000 bucks. If you don't like certain items that are included in the set, you can pick anything you want from the store in place of these items (as long as they are around the same price). They're delivery was also great. They came on time and set up everything so fast! So far, everything I bought from here are still in excellent condition. It's only been a year, so I will try and give you an update in a few more years! I also don't have kids so maybe that's a factor to consider. This store has served me well each time, so I thought I'd do it some justice by writing about how much I love it! read more

I purchased a brand new couch which I discovered within 3 days of delivery had a defective arm. I contacted the store and scheduled service. The tech came out and had to stuff the sofa and use glue and other products to "fix" the arm. I contacted the store and spoke with a manager who offered a store gift card in lieu of replacement. I accepted. Two weeks later I have not received the gift card which I was told would be mailed out the "next day". I have since called the store twice. Both times I was immediately told that the manager is "with a customer" and would return my call. No return phone calls. No gift card received. The service in store is very aggressive and the service post sale is rude and unacceptable. I would suggest that folks looking for quality furniture AND service consider Living Spaces. My issue remains unresolved and I write this while currently on hold while the manager is "with a customer". read more

Update on this ridiculous store. Went on Tuesday because my wife called to speak to the manager. Front desk/ receptionist lady told her the manager is with a customer on the floor and it's is top priority for him to assist them than a customer on the phone. My wife hung up and we came into this circus store looking to speak to a manager. We waited almost 30 mins for the "manager" to come out of his office and speak to us. Finally he promised us that we would have the remaining of our sectional delivered today or tomorrow. Worst Customer Service I've Ever Experienced, Anywhere. We went to this location only because Ashley customer service informed us that we could not place an order for replacement cushions (for our 7 year-old sectional, which we love) without physically going to an Ashley store. That's ridiculous to start with, but onward. The staff at this location acted as if they had never experienced such a request, and this after a previous phone call to the manager, who told us that such requests had to go through Ashely customer service, who then sent us to the store to inform the gentleman otherwise. Obviously he had never done this before, or didn't want to be bothered unless we were buying a living room set. This had already been too much work for a simple purchase. After successfully identifying and paying for the cushions, the staff couldn't even give us a printout of our order confirmation - we were given a number scrawled on on post-it note and told the order would ship in 7-10 business days. Last week we called for the status of our order after waiting 3 weeks, and it took several calls to confirm that it had never shipped. Payment, of course, was processed immediately before we left the store. We were promised a $100 gift card for our trouble, which has not materialized, either. If it's in the box with our cushions, I doubt we'll ever see it. It's now over 30 days since we first visited the store, a dozen or more phone calls to both the store and to Ashley, wherever in Middle America they may be, and as of today we've been told that the parts department is closed and that we can't get confirmation of anything until Monday. At this point, if we don't get a tracking number on Monday we're disputing the charge with our bank for a refund and buying a new couch from ANYBODY but Ashley. read more

We bought a dining room set from Ashley furniture and paid extra for their protection plan for the fabric on the chairs and damage to the wood on top of the table because I have 6 kids and they spill. My kids did spill on the chairs (like I knew they would) and there was some gouges on the top of the table and I called Ashley furniture to come and fix it. They said we "waited too long to call" for the chairs and refused to clean or replace them ( mind you I called within a week of the kids staining them) and for the gouges in the wood the guy used a marker to color it in ( the marker didn't even match the color of the wood). It was a complete rip-off and I would never ever do business with them again, nor would I recommend doing business with them. read more

Love my furniture but I have a couple of concerns. When the delivery guys took the media center off the truck, they dropped 2 shelves witnessed by my neighbor and my husband which damaged the corners. They said they would "take care of them". They didn't do any follow up. Sad that people are working and getting away with that. I've made 2 phone calls and now 5 months later, I still don't have this resolved. Also be careful purchasing the furniture protection plan. I wish I had reviewed furniture protection plan on YELP prior to agreeing. My couches I purchased 4 years ago are still on under warranty but the $419.99 warranty is useless. read more

I don't often feel compelled to leave comments on Yelp, but in this instance I feel strongly enough to do it. My wife and I went to this store prior to looking it up on Yelp and had a good experience with one of the sales people there. We didn't buy anything, but found something we were very interested in. I then went home and did some research on Yelp, and the bad reviews gave me serious concern. We really liked the furniture we had seen, and the price they were offering it for, so I decided we would through caution to the wind and go back to Ashley. On our second visit we were greeted by the Store Manager upon entering, who remembered us from the week before even though he hadn't worked with us. He was extremely courteous and patient with us as worked through several different options we were interested in, and ultimately came up with a package we liked at a price that matched our budget. After working with the Store Manager that day, all my prior concerns had been put to rest. I have no doubts that if you run into any problems at this store, and ask to speak with the Store Manager, that he will take care of you. Our furniture was delivered today, on time (early, actually!), in perfect condition, and we could not be happier with our purchase. The sales guy was extremely pushy to get us to purchase with him and not his coworker. Telling us he wasn't there but then he didn't know how to work the computer. I kept reiterating the delivery date. It was wrong on my forms and had to have it changed. I get an email saying the table is on backorder however when I go online I can have it delivered soon. So I've been calling for a week to figure out when I'm getting my table. The 1800 number is always busy and nobody answers the phone at this location. I'm still trying to get in contact with someone. I shampoo them once a month since I have a cat, and a couple days a week I'll occasionally sleep on the couch instead of the bed. They've been through a lot of kid and animal abuse and they still look nice. The spring are sagging a little, but it's not noticeable. I intend to get new couch in two more years anyways. I've found that local furniture shops also carry certain Ashley furniture items for the same if not lower prices. One store is Big Lots! Occasionally I tighten the table pieces because they get wobbly if I move them around a lot, but no big deal. HERE US AN UPDATE!!! ASHLEY SUCKS! The sectional couch we purchase a month arrived at our home crooked and a wrong size pillow. My husband noticed just after the delivery truck left. We called the Hawthorne store and they advised they would send out an inspector to look at the piece to determine if it was repairable or needed to be replaced. Approx 3 days later the inspector came and confirmed it was defective and a replacement was needed. They attempted to deliver the replacement piece FIVE times which was damaged the same way each time!!!! After the fith attempted we told them to come get the product and return our money! RUN, RUN, RUN, AS FAR AWAY POSSIBLE FROM ASHLEY FURNITURE! Came in on June 27th around 1PM, was greeted by sales associate Joanna. She was very helpful and kind at first. I was indecisive to purchase the coach set, therefore gave me her business card with her contact information. She went back and forth with her manager giving me a "deal". She told me if I purchase the couches which I paid $1,700 for both, her manager approved a $200 gift card for the store when my couches were delivered. I never asked her to write it down or for her manager to put it on paper because I TRUSTED HER & HER MANAGER. When the couches were delivered, I asked the driver where is the gift card and he said I would have to contact the sales woman in regards to the gift card. I tried getting a hold of the manager from this location, no luck. I called Joanna and she finally answered and told me it was a promotion of $100 for shopping during this weekend and she's on stress leave. I was tossed like a used mop back and forth between these people. This was my first and last time I sill ever shop with Ashley Furniture. My wife and I were super excited after returning from our honeymoon to invest in a new sofa and mattress. We heard about Ashley furniture through a friend who got a special financing term so we decided to pay them a visit. When you walk in you are greeted immediately by a salesman. Our salesman Vin was nice and worked to help us get the deal we wanted. He gave us our space to make a decision but the "closing " of the sale was very hard. Understandable as it was a large sale. Overall the selection of furniture is good. He mattress selection was disappointing as they only carry Serta , temperpedic and there own brand. Overall the shopping experience was good. They get 3 stars. After the sale, we were told a delivery date. I rearranged my schedule to be home for delivery which by the way was 2 weeks from purchase date. I even called to verify a couple of times. The morning of delivery at 8 am I get a phone call that our sofa is on back order and we should have been told by our store. They said it would be another 2 weeks to get it to us. They had 2 weeks to tell us this and never once let us know. We lost all confidence in this company as they are very unorganized and fail to keep customers informed. We canceled. We have plenty of places to purchase from so if they do not feel we are important enough to keep informed we will take our business elsewhere. 1 star for company organization. We felt bad for the poor salesman who loses his commission due to the companies inability to follow through. He was a good guy. If I could leave zero stars I would. I ordered an expensive piece of furniture two weeks ago as a birthday gift, with a week of extra time between the delivery date and birthday if there were issues. The day of, I received a UPS notification that I apparently rejected the shipment when I wasn't even home. Come to find out, it was too damaged to be delivered. Fine, it happens. I called and asked for an expedited replacement since it was time sensitive, and was told there would be a 3 day process time for the request. Waited three days and called back several times (often, after 30 minutes on hold, it disconnects). When I got ahold of someone, I was told a replacement could be sent once they received the original within one to two weeks. I replied that was too long, and if they could just cancel the order completely, I would start a new order since shipping would be faster, figuring the odds were low BOTH shipments would be damaged. I made that request yesterday. Then I ordered the item again, this time using their promo code for 10% off. I never got a confirmation email so I logged on to view my orders and make sure it went through. It says my first order is still open and complete (not canceled and processing a refund), and that the second order was "open" , with no promo code and it actually came out to MORE than the first order. I called them again (they are no longer accepting emails, and the bot agent on the website doesn't work) and asked what was up. She said on her end, it showed the first order was still there, no cancellation, and that my SECOND order that I placed less than 24 hours ago was canceled. I never canceled it, and it was guaranteed to be delivered today. I have a picture of the confirmation page stating the price and delivery day. I am now sitting with two charges and zero items in my possession. I am supposed to wait three days to get a call about a resolution but by then the birthday will be passed. Where do I start. Two weeks before Thanksgiving I went into this Ashley store to buy a sleeper sofa. I had called about an hour before going in to make sure they had some to look at, I spoke to someone on the phone and he said to come down as he was available to help me. I told him I'd be there in 20 min. I walked in shortly after that, he was with a customer and said to wait on one of the sofas and he'd be with me in a few minutes as he was wrapping up. I said ok, I understand people walk in all the time and they probably came in right after I called. So I sat down - mind you I was on crutches at the time dealing with a leg injury. 6 sales people passed me, not one asked if I needed help or if I had been taken care of. Not a single sales person even acknowledged my presence! After about 30 minutes of waiting I started crutching around the store looking for myself as I had better things to do than to wait for a sales person to ignore me. Again, sales people walked by, no one asked if I needed help, it was the most bizarre experience, I got asked if I needed help at CVS, but not a decent furniture store? wow. Bad customer service noted. The sales person finds me and finally starts helping, we find a couch and he makes a decent deal for me. I explained the reason I needed it was for my mom who was coming to visit for the holiday in two weeks and she had just undergone hip replacement surgery and I can't have her sleeping on an air mattress she wouldn't be able to get up, I was very clear that I needed a guarantee it'll be delivered on time. He said no problem we had plenty of time. I believed him. He said dispatch would call me for a delivery window in the next day to schedule and I'd have it by the following week, well before my mom arrived. He made the sale, and I left. Dispatch called the next day as promised, scheduled it for 5 days later, great. The day before delivery dispatch called again and said they don't know why the delivery had been scheduled for that day, the sofa had been on back order and would not be available til the following week. I almost had a coronary. The dispatch woman was really nice and said she could have it set as priority and scheduled for the day my mom arrived, I said that's fine. We scheduled it. The sofa arrives and the delivery guys unpack it - it's shredded. The sofa had been damaged somewhere along the way and no one caught it. They asked if I wanted to keep the ottoman, I said no I wanted it as a set so take everything so it comes altogether. The next week they bring the sofa and no ottoman. By this point I'm over the entire thing, the sofa, the ottoman, and Ashley furniture. It was a huge ordeal for a stupid sofa that should have been really simple if the sales person had told me it was on back order instead of lying and saying it was available for delivery right now. I called for a refund on the ottoman because I kept the sofa, they told me I had to walk into the store for a refund!!! I explained I was on crutches and it was a huge ordeal getting down there I can't walk. They wouldn't make any exception. So weeks later I had to hobble down there to get a refund that had been sitting there waiting for me. They didn't even swipe my card or ask for a signature, they processed it and I left. It could have been done over the phone. I won't shop here again, it was just too annoying. read more

I went into this store a few minutes ago. Worst customer service ever. First of all they have signs up that they check temperatures. There was nobody up front upon entry into the store. Second a gentleman walked passed me with acknowledging me. I stood looking at dining room sets for about ten minutes and I was never asked did I need help. I then walked up to the gentleman who passed me earlier and asked could he help me. He just stood there and never asked how he could help me, yet he was answering questions for other customers. I hate to feel as if it was racial but he seemed offended that I asked him a question, but he freely answered the Spanish customers. I am a military spouse and I've lived in many diverse communities and you know when someone doesn't want to wait on you. Every customer should be treated with dignity and respect. He's patient with me considering the fact that I'm super picky and always undecided on pieces. Purchased a recliner, with electric motor, for about $500. Turns out the price is quite high compared to others, but I did not notice at the time. They should have enough margin to be able to afford customer service. First they delivered the wrong chair and gave me a hassle about fixing the error. I had to jump through hoops to talk to management and prove it was their error. Then after a few months the fake leather started to flake off of the chair. We purchased a warranty for a significant extra cost, but turns out it was cleverly worded not to include the fake leather falling apart. So we have a chair that is constantly shedding and looks like hell and they are of no help. They get your money and then drop you. read more

This man asked me repeatedly if I wanted to look while I waited. No, I was waiting for someone. So I already felt like he wasn't listening. Then every question came with a long answer that wasn't needed. Had to repeat questions to get the answer. I heard we don't sell mattresses we sell sleep so many times. I was annoyed with the whole experience. So Before I even started looking I knew I wouldn't buy from here. I did find a bed and a lovely sales person at a different store. She answered all my questions and even had great feed back. read more
