We bought a couch and ottoman from here back in March. The reason they are even getting 2 stars is because the service we were provided that evening while buying our furniture was good. It's the aftEr math that regulates in this review. Our ottoman is literally DEFORMED and it's happening to our couch now too. The ottoman CAME LIKE THIS and they told me it was because it was wrapped and would eventually form back. Not even a year with the furniture and this happens? That isn't even the most frustrating part. We've been calling for the past two weeks almost 3 now and NO ONE is getting back to us. We are getting the run around saying someone will come and look at the furniture and fix this. Yet here we are. We spent a good amount of money and basically feel like we have AWFUL furniture. Do not buy furniture from Ashley furniture. We have had so many issues with the furniture we bought. We didn't even have our couch for more than 2 weeks before the our back couch cushion started tearing at the seams. The bottom cushions zipper fell off and that seam also ripped a short time later. Our bedroom set already has a few chips in it. This furniture is cheaply made. Ashely pushed us to purchase the warranty on these items which we ended up doing because we were told they'd cover rips, tears, stains, etc. but what they don't tell you is that there is another company you have to file the claim through and apparently they don't cover rips, tears, stains, etc. Ashelys sales team straight up lied to us. Now we're stuck with having to pay extra to repair the damage ourselves. We paid a lot of money for this furniture and are just so disappointed. Spend your money elsewhere! UPDATE: the store manager responded to my review and gave me the email address of someone to contact-her name is Brittany and she emailed me telling me someone would be in touch with me. They did call but ohhh my goodness-the person I spoke with couldn't be any less helpful. She accused me of not filing my claim when it happened (although I did) and then stated they had no record of my calls (again, untrue). This alone infuriated me because I did call, multiple times, and at the time of when the damage occurred. This just tells me that they not only do not keep accurate records but could clearly care less about their customers and their satisfaction. She also tried to blame me for my claim stating that they don't cover claims for wear-we had the furniture for TWO weeks when this happened. We hardly sat on the side where the rips happened! We are now heading into the middle of August and we still have no couch in our new home. I have contacted customer service 7 times over the last 10 weeks and each time I'm given a date of when it will be arriving. Then I hear nothing and must call back. They must train their staff to bullshit customers with made up dates. We went to the Room Place in Bloomingdale for a couch in another room and had it delivered the following week. Worst purchase ever made. Bought the whole Zardoni set worth of 1900$ Sofa, chaise, side tables and center table. The fabric for the sofa and chaise sheds, piles and the material is scratchy and uncomfortable. There is a tear in the chaise. Very poor quality. We are household of two. No kids and pets. As suggested by the sales representative during the purchase took the five year coverage premium protection plan from protect all company. Once I found the perfect item and was ready to ring up the purchase, the salesperson told me: "There are none in stock and all our stores share the same warehouse" "It will be a month (but likely longer) to have the order processed and the items delivered." I spent over $2000 for a couch at Ashley last year. When the morons assembled it they didn't put all the screws in the legs, so a year later the legs ripped out from the plywood they use in their furniture. I called them three times and waited on hold for over an hour every time. I finally made an appointment to go in and they told me that due to Covid they can't resolve my issue. They can sell furniture, however, they can't honor their warranty's after their furniture breaks because of Covid??? My wife and I finally insisted on talking to a manager who asked us to send him some pictures, we subsequently followed up with him with no response. Recently the current delivery date after numerous changes of dates, was at 21 weeks. On Wednesday December 23rd got 2 phone calls and an email from Ashley stating delivery on Saturday December 26th between 12:30 & 3:30. On Friday December 25 got email with 5 steps before delivery which included removal of old furniture and button to confirm which I did. On Saturday December 26th at 12:03 got call that our items were delayed until March 2nd. Where told to contact store. They didn't answer phone, so went to store. No manager available until Monday. I purchased a couch and love seat from this store 1/13/2019. What a mistake that was. With in a month of delivery they had to come out and replace the cushions and fix the arm on the love seat. Furniture is completely garbage. Now on 2/8/20. The back frame is starting to warp. I called in because I also purchased the 5 yrs protection plan and to find out the frame isn't covered by the plan. Even though the sales rep lead us to believe it would be. After hours on the phone getting the run aroun, and being bounced from the warranty provider and Ashley customer service, they stated it was up to the store. This company is awful. If there was a word worse than that I could use. I bought a reclining loveseat that has NEVER WORKED CORRECTLY. I have attempted now 6 times to get it fixed. I think the big problem is they don't send the same repairman out when they order a part. They come in move the chair hear the grinding and say the need a part or they need more time than they have so they will have to come back. Few weeks later someone else comes out with no background on the problem so we go around and around. Still not fixed. I was not allowed to return it even though this noise was from day 2. At this point, I'd leave negative stars if possible. Sales person was friendly enough when making the sale. But we were told our furniture set would be available for delivery in up to 4 months, possibly sooner. Every time that window arrives, it gets bumped back 2 months. Here we are nearly 10 months after ordering, and I finally received a call to schedule delivery, only to be told no...half the order might be available in another month (no promises), and the most important piece (our bed) won't be ready until January...more than a year after ordering. But the joy in that experience was a mix-up they had that resulted in me receiving auto calls to schedule delivery twice a day for a period of many weeks (with a glitchy and impenetrable auto phone system)...but every time I got lucky and made it through was told it wasn't ready. Finally had to call and get angry at some poor soul in India just doing their thankless job...and forced them to remove my number for that order. I ordered furniture last week that was delivered last night. My delivery window was 3:15-6:15. At 8:18pm I received a text that they'd be arriving in 10 minutes. Luckily, shortly before the end of the delivery window I checked and was able to track where the furniture was. I did not receive any communication at all that my furniture delivery was going to be delayed by two hours. A simple text or a phone call earlier in the evening would've been appreciated and let me know that my furniture delivery was going to be delayed by hours. Then I wouldn't have to cancel plans because of it. It is really disappointing that there is an a better system in place to ensure the delivery isn't delayed by many hours. The men that delivered my furniture were amazing. They were very polite, handled everything with care, and assembled my furniture perfectly. I know it is not their fault that they were potentially overbooked for the day, but for my furniture to be delivered two hours late and to be told they still had three deliveries after me (it was 9:30pm) is very disappointing. I highly recommend improving communication or process around delayed deliveries, especially when it's later in the evening. read more

TLDR; Willy is awesome and he made my whole buying experience easy and stress free. A couple of months ago, my boyfriend and I were moving into a bigger place and I finally convinced him that we needed a bigger sectional. I really hate going to stores with aggressive salesmen, so I looked online first to figure out exactly which couch I wanted before trying it out in person. When I went to the Ashley store that was closer to my apartment in the city, they didn't have the exact couch I wanted on the floor. After doing a quick look around, I decided that I'd risk it and still buy the one I saw online. The people who helped me were nice and straightforward, but I did think the manager was a bit pushy about the protection plan. The next day when I was at work, I called the Ashley in Schaumburg to see if they had the couch I had ordered on display at their store. Since they did, my coworkers and I went during lunch to go check it out. Immediately upon entry to the store, we were greeted by an enthusiastic employee named Willy. I explained to him that I had already purchased a couch from another location and I just wanted to feel it out in person. He joked with us as he led us to the couch and then told us to let him know if we had any questions or needed anything. When I realized that the chaise was too short, I went and asked Willy if he could recommend something similar in the store. He was extremely informative and patient as we sat and laid on each couch, and he let me figure out which one felt best for me. I finally decided on a couch but had forgotten my wallet, so I had to return after work. As someone who is extremely indecisive, I began to worry that the width of the new couch wouldn't be long enough to fit the ottoman I wanted. When I returned to the store after work, I voiced this to Willy, who stayed late just to wait for me, and he helped me compare measurements between the 3 and 4-piece sectionals. I finally decided to go with the larger one, without any pressure or comments from Willy to do so, and he helped me switch the order while keeping the same delivery date. Of course I then began to worry if the 4-piece was going to be too big for my new place, but Willy assured me that if I changed my mind I could always return the one piece. This made me feel better about the purchase because I wouldn't be stuck with the extra piece if the couch was too big. I really appreciated his patience with me and my indecisiveness, and he made the buying experience so much easier for me. I hope he's doing well in these hard times because he truly was a really nice guy who was really good at his job. I have been planning on buying a sofa. My daughter and i walked in the store. not one salesperson asked us if they could help us within the first 45 minutes we were there and even then, we received minimal help. The men sat there and talked about the sofa that I am purchasing without much regard for me. Hey guys look I earned the money speak to me about my big purchase. When I went with my daughter, they were not busy at all. A matter a fact we walked past who I assume was the manager (because he was wearing a suit) and a male employee just chatting away ignoring us. At one point they were just standing there doing absolutely nothing. Also, there was a stain on the sofa on display. They covered it with pillows, but I saw it from my first visit. They say that the sofa cover can be washed easily and there is a solution to take stains out. I asked them to show me with the purple stain that was on the display sofa. The salesperson ignored me. When I looked to see who ran the company, I saw a picture of a bunch of middle-aged white men and a token young lady. Show some respect for women Ashley Furniture. We bought a great-quality couch here that we love, but after an infuriating "customer service" experience we had, we will never shop at Ashley again. It started when our dog chewed up a piece of our couch. I called the store to see if they had any re-upholster services we could pay for--nobody answered the phone over the course of three days. I even left a voicemail that no one returned. I then called the corporate line who told me they could not help, not even provide information about this, and that I'd have to work with the store directly. I told them the store doesn't answer their phone. They didn't seem to care about this and told me to go into the store physically. So I went into the store, where a sales rep told me I could call the corporate number (the number I had already called) and they would send me fabric for free, at which point I could work with an external upholsterer, which I was happy to do. I followed those instructions, but when I called the corporate line this time, they said they would not only send me the fabric for free, but they would come out and fix it for free. I was confused since this was conflicting information, but accepted it because they confirmed it was what should happen. They sent me the fabric pretty quickly, but when a technician reached out to me to schedule the appointment, they asked to see a picture, which I provided, and they said I needed to pay them for the service since this was clearly pet damage. I told them what the corporate customer service rep had told me, and they basically said there was a miscommunication and I needed to pay them. I accepted that, asking who and how I pay, but this person would not give me a clear answer. They just kept saying to pay "the store" which could mean a number of things with all the misinformation I had gotten up to this point. I asked for them to have a manager call me, which never happened. I called the customer service number again, multiple times over the next couple of weeks--one person literally told me they didn't have access to update accounts and that they couldn't even transfer me to someone who could; two other people cut my call off. Finally, I got someone who said I needed to physically go into the store to pay for the service. So I went into the store and spoke with Johanna, who did make efforts to help, but made multiple comments along the way implying she didn't know how to fix/access these things. Finally, she got my service order straightened out and I paid for it. She said she didn't know how I would be contacted or when (re: setting the appointment, and that I could text her (she specified text, not calling) if any issues came up. I asked if there were any other managers I could call if she's not available, and she said no. Days went by and no one contacted me. I texted her a few times to follow up, and she gave me pretty short and difficult-to-read answers. After a whole business week passed and I followed up again, she finally told me I had to call the corporate customer service number to schedule the appointment. Of course, when I called them, they cut my call off again. I followed up with Johanna telling her this and requesting to please get this taken care of or I'd be pursuing a refund. She called me hours later, saying that my service order had been closed, which no one had told me about. She finally opened a new order for me and promised someone would be in touch in the next 48 hours, which did happen and we finally got someone out here to fix the couch. But the aggravation it came with was enough to make us never give Ashley Furniture our business again. The cherry on top was the fact that in all my many conversations back and forth with Johanna, she never once apologized for the experience (which again, in summary, was me having to chase down multiple people at Ashley for almost a month who either cut off my calls, said they couldn't help me, or gave me contradicting information, just to pay them to fix my couch). Ashley HomeStore located at the outer skirts of Woodfield mall is a pretty big home furniture store. They have furniture mostly for bedrooms, dining, and kitchen. If you like old wood style furniture then this is the place for you. We decided to go here to look for some kitchen stools. We were greeted by one of their sales rep Vinny. We asking about the sale price and the guy was very rude. He had some bad attitude and he kept pushing to make the sale. We asked about delivery and he gave a random number of 4 weeks without even looking it up. It got to a point where he really made us feel unwanted and cheap. We got to the point that we decided to just walk away from the store as he had the worst customer service ever. On our way out we saw another sales rep, Mary, who was helping other customers. We decided to talk to her about our experience with Vinny and our interest to buy the stools. Mary was extremely understanding and helpful. She looked up the stool details and provided us the actual delivery time. She even looked up the best price possible for the stools. She was so helpful that at the end she gave her number to make sure if we had any problems then to reach out to her. We were seconds away from leaving the store and never returning, to ending up buying something from the store. Mary truly displayed what is good customer service while Vinny was a classic example of someone who should not be talking to customers. read more

They just want your money and they move onto the next customer. I asked for everything to be returned but they said they can't after a sale is finalized. I went there yesterday with my daughter who was looking for a coffee table. It was the third place we went to ranging from IKEA, to Tom's Price Outlet, to Carson's furniture. The furniture here is reasonably priced for the middle range offerings. It is not Walter E Smyth quality but they had a wide variety of styles and price points. They also have many decorative accessories, candles, and lamps for sale as well. The piece we choose hasn't been delivered but I'll update my review if there are problems, since I'll be waiting for it. Seems that a lot of the complaints are around customer service. We were there about 4 in the afternoon on a weekday and there was plenty of staff available, and theyd did not pester us as we went though the showroom. Had a terrible experience with Ashley. I ordered online and received a delivery date several weeks in the future. When the date came, my items did not arrive. I tried the provided website but the link I was given for the delivery did not work. I tried calling, but no one answered. I called two more times in the following days, but no one ever answered and I had to leave a message. I tried email customer support, but never received a response. After about a week I received a call saying my items had a new delivery date and that I would be given a 10% discount. When the new date came, my items did not arrive once again. I tried calling but no one answered. I opened a claim with the payment service to get my money back. After about 4 weeks my items finally arrived with no explanation. I am still waiting for my 10% discount, and I would also like the delivery service waived, as I paid for the premium delivery. I can understand things taking longer than usual with COVID, but I do not understand repeating missing dates and being unresponsive. read more

Worst customer service experience. We came in the store in June when they first opened back, which is on the 1st week of June. We found a sectional that we liked and placed an order. They told us that it would be delivered in 2 weeks. When we got home we realized that the sectional would be too big and needed to change a piece out, we called and they did the adjustments, great. The next day I got another call and now they said that it's backordered and can't make the delivery till Aug 5. I have received 3 text notification for an August 5 delivery. Fast forward to July 24, they sent me a text notification that delivery will now be in September. That would be 3 months. I have tried calling customer service and the store, no answer...it just keeps ringing or it puts you on hold and then it just cuts off. They keep using COVID as an excuse, I understand that there are delays, but to wait for 3 months for a sectional is not acceptable and to be able to talk or reach somebody is inexcusable. We are trying to cancel our order, if we ever get through to customer service. And would never make another mistake of purchasing here. read more

This store has the worst customer service. Once you purchase a product and you are trying to resolve an issue afterwards, there is a nightmare. I purchased a wall art from the store. Once I got home I realized that the store online price is half from what I purchased in the store. I contacted the sales agent for a price match. After several promises that the price will be adjusted, walking to the store and talking to the manager, no one wants to do anything about it. They ignored me, my messages, etc. I will never walk in that store again. The sales agents even talk bad about their own managers. It's a nightmare read more
