Buyer Beware! There is a "Sales Manager" named "Q" who will say and promise anything to get your sale. Then, when it comes time to actually get your order, he will ghost you and claim he never made any promises. Very unscrupulous person. Our Salesperson, Jeremiah "J", was very helpful and searched for all the items we wanted and asked Q to help with delivery. That's when everything went South. We did not get our delivery on the date promised and when asked, Q denied the agreed delivery date. Further, he denied any help whatsoever saying that Ashley does not deliver Sun or Mon ‍ I cancelled the order and got everything I wanted, less expensive, and delivered THE NEXT DAY from Living Spaces (just a few blocks down Hawthorne Bl). Boys and girls, today's lesson is "How to Destroy a Business" Stopped in at the Lawndale, CA store across from Home Depot just now during my neighborhood walk. I wanted to see if they had a swivel reading chair listed on their website. Maybe six cars in the parking lot; which might explain why there was only one "customer assistance" guy available. He was just going to walk past me, so I asked if there was anyone else there. He stopped, and sighed like I was asking him for a loan. He was carrying some papers that I assumed were for a waiting customer. I asked if he was busy. "Yes, but how can I help you?" I mentioned the chair, he walked me to a large computer screen where we found it pretty quickly--so far so good, yes? He says it's not in the store, and that he's never seen one sold in his ten years working there. OK, so I have bad taste, I guess? Who the hell cares? All the furniture comes from San Bernardino (he says this like it's Outer Mongolia), and this chair is not on the floor, so you can buy it online--I've never seen that chair on the floor in ten years! Or, he suggests, you can call our other stores (and here I thought maybe AI or something could be used to see if they have it). Ah, I say, so I need to do the legwork on this. He took offense. Well, no, he says, I'm telling you where you can call. Right, I say, exactly right--I'll do the legwork. What if they don't have it? Then I buy it online, sight unseen? What if I don't like it? I pay for shipping? He has nothing. Well, says me, it's $500--I would like to try it out first. I spent $800 here recently on a couch; I'm a neighbor. Can't you have it sent on the next truck from San Bernardino? Oh no. Never. Not in my ten years have I seen that done. You can go and pick it up in San Bernardino, he suggests, clearly finished with this conversation. Hmm...says me, walking out: I'll look elsewhere. At least for ten years. read more

This place is ok. The sales staff are a bit aggressive. I get it. They work on commission, but have the same person approach you in 5-10 minute intervals after you've said you're just looking and are pretty adamant about it, it can be a bit annoying. The store is clean. They do greet you when you come in. They don't necessarily have all the items you see online on display. read more

Make sure you are 100% SATISFIED with your furniture before you sign because once you do there is no returning of any kind and IF your furniture is defective they will give you the run around over and over again until they tire you or you wear them out... unfortunately they do not tell you clearly the return policy at the store ( read the back of the receipt hint hint) so make sure to ask concise questions, I'm stuck with expensive furniture I'm not happy with but if I can save someone from making the same mistake, I will. OMG people. Do not deal with this store. I cannot explain how unsatisfied we are with this place and it's people. My in laws bought us a new set of couches and it's been downhill since. From the delivery, customer service and the couch itself. They never called us to confirm a delivery time, said I did not answer when I was later told, they don't have my number. Wtf? The delivery people did not ring the doorbell like we instructed them to because we keep our doors closed. They knocked 3xs all on camera and they left right away. We had a specific time to be delieverd so we would know! Next , we rescheduled.... they never came on the day as scheduled. We called and said it would take another week. Literally run around! So they missed the 2nd schedule day. Our couch began to sink on one side. We're not obesed people so there's no way telling how that happened only to find out they give out never used but old furniture so expect things like that to happen. Smh. Someone came in to look, said he's going to put it an order to replace it, mentioned it was gonna come in the following week and nothing. My FIL called again asking wtf is going on? Was told that they told ME that nothing was wrong with the mattress so that's why it was never ordered. What The Fck???? Customer service was great at Ashley's. William did great at explaining everything to us. He went above and beyond as far as providing a pillow for more comfort as we tested different beds..and yes we ended up taking the pillow it was like laying your head on a cloud. The pillow sold itself, we also ended up buying a carpet and a two piece sofa as well. Melissa the manager was also amazing with the entire process! I actually enjoy the hustle and negotiating, but this time I certainly wasn't impressed. You basically have to negotiate to get the price down. I bet their business model is to assume you will try to negotiate and then you end up at market value. The sales associate we had seemed new too. We visited on memorial day weekend. It was crowded and they seemed to have hired seasonal staff. It showed, because I was not impressed with her knowledge or her ability to recommend what we wanted. Went to living spaces instead. I am very upset with the customer service I was provided. We picked Olga because we thought she was going to be able to help us. We picked the couches that we like took over three hours to make purchase. I liked two corner tables for the couches we picked with two lamps, and I was promised that I could pick them up the next day, went to the store after I got off work luckily she was still there or else nobody would've known what was going on then I was told I could not take them with me because they were on clearance. I was starting to get upset because the lamps or the tables I picked Were not available as I was promised! As we are waiting, Olga approaches me and says why don't I pick out tables that are not on clearance and I told her you don't have them displayed with a clearance tag if you are the employee and I'm the customer how am I supposed to know and I quote? As we were looking for a new TV stand for our living room we decided to go with this black tv stand from Ashley's Furniture store. The service was very good as the delivery came within 5 business days and very easy to assemble. The only thing we didn't like was that 2 of the wood planks were damaged but with wood putty we were able to fix those spots. We feel like the value of the tv stand was well worth it as we got a great discount from Black Friday sales. We will definitely be back for furniture in the future. read more

I purchased a Desk, Bookcase, and Chair at this Ashley furniture store (about $3000 total) and was delivered 2 days ago. The lady who sold me the set of furniture was extremely nice and also assured me that if I don't like any of the pieces I can always bring it back within 72 hours. This was my first time shopping at Ashley furniture so this gave me a good piece of mind. After the furniture was delivered I brought the chair back to the store today because it was so uncomfortable. The chair was the cheapest piece of the 3 at only $150. This store manager helped me as the other sales lady was not there. He started to inform me that on the back of my receipt it says there are no refunds at this store and Ashley furniture only accepts returns if there's a defect on the item. I was surprised to hear this because the sales lady who sold everything to me had assured me I can bring it back anytime within 3 days if I didn't like any item. The manager was extremely rude and unhelpful, telling me to call the customer service number. As I was calling customer service on speakerphone in front of the manager, I noticed the computer and wire that was on the table which my wife tripped on the last time I was at the store. I pointed out to the manager that this was a hazard, and should be cleaned up. I asked him to relocate this stuff and he refused. I started to take pictures of the belongings and the manager started yelling at me saying "this is personal property! You cannot take pictures!" I said yes I can buddy. And I'll take a picture of you too. He kicks me out of the store very aggressively following me out, I felt threatened and even turned around to see if he was going to get physical. It turns out that he was so angry because all that stuff was his personal belongings. The guy thinks this place is literally his living room. Take a look at the pictures. His labtop stays on this desk in the middle of the showroom with the charging cable running across the floor, along with his Coat, Trader Joe's bag with his personal groceries, carry on bag, and a huge jug of water. Absolute eyesore and Hazard. When I was leaving the Manager of store was still using his computer in the spot where my wife tripped on his computer charging cable. This would be 5 stars if it wasn't for a particular salesman Jackie. I do recommend Ali, the Store Manager. He's a nice gentleman by the way, very helpful and professional. His photos are all over these reviews. If you want good service, go to to this man. Ali sped up a refund/ cancellation process that was never executed by salesman Jackie. We visited Ali at the store after we cancelled an $1800 couch two weeks previous. He used his contacts at their corporate office to satisfy us as customers, didn't care about a sale, and only looked out for us, upholding Ashley's name. Plus he gave us his phone number; showing trust. Again, go straight to Ali for quality help & furniture ! Long story short we returned this couch well within the return & delivery deadline respecting their policy. We tried to do it over the phone with Jackie but he hung up on us at first; forcing us to drive 15 miles back to the store. He and his customer service rep (a young nice african american woman did the " so called " refund together. While asking for our money back, Jackie still tried to sell us more furniture. Very inappropriate and a bit harassing. He stated the refund will take 5-10 business days. On the 10th business day, we didn't receive anything and our bank had nothing pending. Nowadays & in a bad economy everyone needs their money & 5-10 business days means " 5-10 business days. " They tried to blame our bank but it was simply no execution. Two people could not do a simple refund. In spite of them covering excuses, we learned the refund was never processed by Jackie and his customer service that day. And it took the Manager to put out a fire caused by his salesman; who simply lost a sale. Buyer beware of this salesman who is smooth at first but sloppy after. Ashley Furniture scams their customers. I purchased a console table and it came damaged and also with a manufacturer defect. We had them deliver a replacement but the replacement was also damaged. We did that a third time as well, but the same thing happened. I finally asked for a refund, but they said "no returns". They would only offer an exchange. They refuse to acknowledge that if they can't deliver me what I originally purchased, that they owe me a refund. They somehow think I'm bound to their "no return" policy even though I never received a non-defective version of what I purchased. It's like talking to a brick wall. I spoke to 3 different representatives, 1 being a manager. So I was patiently waiting until today when I checked and did not recieve any confirmation or any form of return on my account. I called Ashleys and was told my order was on hold not cancelled. What a nightmare. Week 8 and I have nothing from them. So now I need to go in person to get a refund. Honestly, save your money and especially your TIME. I went to Ikea that same Tuesday bought what I needed and saved more than half. Here's the deal. Once we finally got the reclining chair we ordered , after a month of challenges, the recliner was great. Was it worth all the problems????? We ordered it and the motor died the 2nd day. Then it took 3-1/2 weeks of phone calls and a technician coming out to get a replacement. We did get some compensation to be fair. Then, two months later a huge motor arrives at our home ( which we cancelled!) and we had to go to the store, again, and return it ; and wait again. Big sigh. If we were to have been paid for our time and frustration........... On the flip side , the guy who handled the situation was great. Unfortunately this all should never had happened. I purchased 2 bed frames online, not realizing their return policy is only 72 hours. The customer service manager was rude and condescending. You can get good stuff here, but be patient. Come back 3,4,5 times if you have to. The sales team is very high pressure. Always check prices in-store against Ashley's online prices. Also when checking out and signing the sales order carefully review the SKU/item #s to what you and the sales person verbally agree on. I even went as far as taking my receipt/order to another Ashley store and re checked the item numbers. TL;DR: double, triple, quadruple check everything you sign and that it aligns to what you and the salesperson agreed on. Don't fall for high pressure sales. Check online prices. read more

I purchased a mattress from ashley furniture in Torrance California. The mattress on display on the was fully expanded. The one that was delivered to my home was not expanded after a week. I called my sales person and it was advised to buy another one and return the bad one. Being that I just moved in to my apartment and had no bed this was the best solution. The other option was to wait to have someone come and confirm that it did not expand and it could be at least a week to get someone out. We'll as it turns out they do not do returns on mattress and I am stuck with an extra mattress. They did send someone out to look at the mattress and he said that he could see it didn't expand but reported there was no issue. The corners of the mattress are indented on the one I have now and in the store they are not. I have pictures that clearly show the mattress is defective. I am told nothing will be done. If you get a mattress remember no returns or refunds will be available if you are not happy with it. read more

I was a little hesitant to shop here based upon some of the other reviews, but I am glad that I did. First, this is a furniture showroom with commissioned sales people. You should expect attention while you browse. This is not like shopping at Ikea or Target. The staff is going to engage with you. If you don't like that, then this may not be the place for you. I visited the store twice. The first time I was just browsing. I was considering buying a new reclining sofa. I was assisted by Yvonne. I explained to Yvonne that I wasn't sure that a new sofa was in my budget because I was having other work performed on my home. She understood and still assisted me in a pleasant manner. A week later after I figured out my budget, I returned and purchased a Backtrack reclining sofa. Yvonne assisted me this time as well - because I asked for her by name. I bought furniture for my whole 4 bedroom house from this store. Every single item has issues. Quality control is terrible. I purchased insurance but it is useless. Last, they gave me the run around to fix a wobbly dinning table that makes the dinning experience not pleasant. At the end they said that's a normal wobble. I guess who designed this table wanted to create a dancing table not a sturdy one. Customer service care less. Alondra from the store at first said that it was approved for replacement and after two months she said they won't do it anymore. It was an expensive lesson to learn. My shopping experience there yesterday was good. Alnoor was very helpful and we found the chairs we were looking for plus a new sofa. I did negotiate the price down from $2,860 to $2,600 dealing with Q, the store manager. I feel that we got a good deal at that price. My concern now after reading some of the reviews is what happens next. Our delivery date is March 31, four weeks away. I was promised full delivery and set up of each piece of furniture. TL;DR: believe the bad reviews about delivery and customer service. Their pricing is really shady. Check online first--don't get scammed. Actually, just save your time and go to Living spaces. I learned that Ashely's home furniture prices "regionally". Meaning if you go to this particular location, you will pay more for your furniture than online. I found my "$1000" couch that they said they were doing me a favor by discounting was being sold online for $550. Their corporate said it should only vary by $200. So needless to say I feel very cheated and I feel like they were very shady. This wasn't my original couch selection; my original one never came when it was scheduled to deliver -- I got no notice that it wasn't coming. They refused to refund my delivery because I was getting a "way more expensive couch" when I chose a new one. Turns out it was actually way less expensive and just a waste of my time. read more
