Hello fellow yelpers. Bought a sectional couch, and couple of other items from here on 8/22 (paid in full including delivery/setup fee) They said it would be delivered in 2 weeks. Week after they called and said it has been back-ordered and won't be available until 10/4.. We really liked the couch and weren't in a rush, so whatevs. On 10/1, We get a text confirming the delivery date and time. (Screenshot attached) On 10/4, Date of the scheduled delivery, I drive to delivery location in Big Bear, CA which is a 3 hours drive. No one shows up. We call customer Service ourselves, and they said it's backordered and won't be delivered that day. At this point I no longer trust that we're ever gonna see the couch so we asked for a refund. The customer service lady was nice, professional and apologetic. She got our info and said to go to the Store so they can refund it back to our card. On 10/5 - I go to the Store and talk with a sales manager, Antonio "Tony" Cruz. He looks up the info and says "what if I told you, you could have this by end of this month", I asked to give me a discount and put it in writing that it will be delivered this time. He makes me wait while he "checks the system". It was taking too long and told him I have to leave. He said, "the system is rebooting"; Now, I am not accusing anyone of lying, but I will say that I could see the monitor reflection and the screen was up and running fine, you guys make your own judgement. I certainly gave him the benefit of the doubt and told myself the software is probably rebooting in the background or something. He gave me his card and said, he'll work out the numbers and will call me in an hour or 2 and if I didn't like the price he could refund over the phone so I wouldn't have to go back in the store... I was cool with that, I said thanks and left. Can u guys guess who never called in an hour or 2? Yep, Antonio Cruz never called back in an hour or 2. About 4 hours pass and I call the store, put on a never-ending hold. I decided to give them until the end of the day before taking any further actions. That brings us to today (10/6). At this point in the story, speaking with Ashley Furniture would result in a non-pleasant and most likely a non-constructive encounter, so I didn't call them and instead called my credit card company, and reported them. They put the credit back on on my account and they will deal with Ashley Furniture. (side note: Amex Platinum.. just amazing totally worth the $550 annual fee for stuff like this) Reading other people's reviews on here, it is sad and clear that I am not the only one. This business is run by juveniles. At some point I will report them to BBB and Federal Trade Commission, because it's not cool to treat people this way. I just wanted to throw a yelp review and share my experience as hopefully it can help others. There are definitely other stores out there who would be grateful for getting business from their customer and will treat them with a bit more respect. read more

But they do not have exactly what I was searching for. The sale lady was rather upset with me when I left and took her clip board and banged it against a table in the store. I'm giving 1 star just because the customer service in store was great, but I believe they were great Sales people. Related to product delivery after almost a month I have not received the rest of my TV stand which was promised before Thanksgiving. i've ordered on 11/16 they delivered parts of the stand on the 21st and just told me on that day that the order was not complete and could not be assembled, so I have my Thanksgiving room with pieces of furniture not assembled; they promised the rest of "backorder" to be delivered on 11/30, changed to 12/4 which they sent me the text to advise day and time, I've confirmed, they confirmed back the day before the delivery hour window, I took the time off from work to wait for them and I received a call on the delivery date that my order was still on backorder and it would be delivered only on Dec 18th! This is unacceptable and now I understand why they assure you don't leave the store before you give the review on Google. I gave 5 stars on Google just because of the Sales but now I will remove it as it is unacceptable this kind of service. LUCKILY we bought the warranty for them to come fix whatever breaks, which doesn't help right now because of Covid-19. First we bought a two set reclining leather sofa......one side the motor stopped working and the other side the arm rest is loose. And now the fabric is tearing off! You'd think we'd learn our lesson but we gave them another try so we bought a $1,000 dining set (table and chairs). We went to this store twice. Had two totally different experience. First time was a great experience! Yvonne was so helpful and pleasant. She didn't force anything on us and had our best interest at heart! I will give her ten stars if Its just her. We looked a dinning set we liked but had to go back and do some measurement at our new place. One week later. Tuesday July 22nd 7pm. we came back to actually order the dinning set, but mannnnn our experience was not good at all! No one greet us, every one seems to be on their phone or tablet. We went to the customer service desk and asked for Yvonne, she wasn't there. One guys said he would help us and will be right back. We told him we will be at the dinning set area. We waited like good 10 mins. He didn't come. There was a girl in the customer service desk by the dinning table. She saw us waiting, did nothing and was on her phone too. My boyfriend went up to her said can somebody plz help us, she called someone on her pager and did nothing.. nothing like "is there anything I can do" So we waited another 2-3 mins no one came. I was taking my mom around shopping. She went into this store and liked a lamp. She asked me to come in to show it to me. Immediately at the door, a man named Ken rushed up and approached us. What happened to 6 foot distancing? Lol. He asked my mom if she is a returning customer. She said no, I just want to look around. He said ok let me show you around. She said no I'm ok. He still said let me show you. I turned to the man and said, "she was literally just here. She asked me to come in so I could she could show me a lamp." Another worker gave Ken a strange look. Ken repeatedly kept following us around. It even got to the point where he was walking in between my mom and I. I really didn't want to say anything because my mom was so excited to be out and about after being stuck at home for so long due to the pandemic. I realized this guy may not even be vaccinated and he's literally constantly within a foot of my mom. Everything my mom pointed out to me or asked me about, Ken made sure to interrupt with his answer. Finally I got so fed up that I told my mom, "I've had enough mom. Seriously. Let's go." She said ok and we left. Talk about annoying! LOL. Corporate if you're listening, with "customer service" like that, might as well just make Ashley an online store so that you can shop in peace. I needed a bed. I saw online they had one for $150.00. So I went to the store and unfortunately that bed was at a store about an hour away. I wasn't going to drive that far. The sales woman, Meribel (? I think that was her name) was super helpful and went to see what she could do. She found a very affordable option. I picked up the bed myself w some help from a few friends and a truck. One of the sales women, Melissa, offered to bring the bed out front so we could load it. She even helped. Staff is super pressuring, which I really do not appreciate. They act like they help you out or hook you up but that is very much not the case. I went to over 10 stores multiple times and decided on a dining table I really liked from Ashley. They happened to have a promotion the weekend I decided to make the purchase. About to finally buy and calculating everything, I was walking away with no deal basically and couldn't use a $50 gift card i had bc it's "double dipping," says the manager. Double dipping, my ass. They suck. I really didn't enjoy any of the times we came here. To me, it's not only about not honoring the promotion, it's the sketchiness of the staff including the manager. We bought a sectional sofa from the store, which was delivered on two different dates. Neither of the pieces matched up. The hardware didn't match up. We've been in dispute with American Express and Ashley Furniture for three or four months now. This is the worst shopping experience I've ever had, the interactions and the customer service are dreadful. This place sells you defective furniture and it's impossible to get someone to reach out to you to fix the issue. I purchase a living room set and the coffee table was delivered broken. When calling I'm on hold for a VERY long time it's absolutely ridiculous. They then send someone out to try and fix it but he couldn't. I was told this item needs to be replaced and someone would reach out. I never heard from anyone and when I called I was told they are waiting on parts. I argued saying this is a BRAND NEW purchase and I paid for NEW FURNITURE not DEFECTIVE furniture and it need to be replaced with a NEW one ASAP. I was told someone from corporate would reach out. Still nothing. Of course the sales person ANGELICA doesn't bother to fix the issue or care once the sale was made. Not to mention all the issues with delivery! They didn't deliver the tables with the rest of the furniture and gave us the run around. Weeks later we finally got the rest of the items but they were defective. This is a VERY unethical company that sells poor quality defective furniture. I also just reported them to BBB. Came here looking for a new couch. We visited the store about 3 times and almost bought a couch from here, but ended up loving another one from Living Spaces. Anyways, our first visit was annoying because right away a sales associate greeted us then followed us the entire time and wouldn't leave us alone. After multiple furniture stores and days of couch shopping, we learned this is the case everywhere. These people won't let you breathe and it's because they was their commission. Anyways, they have really good products but just decent prices. They always have a "sale" going on but the sale is always fake. The rack up the original price to make it look like its on sale when its not. Our last visit we met Rick, Rick Bragg. Boy was he the best. He was extremely helpful and personable. I really wish we could've bought a couch from him and we almost did just because we felt bad not buying one from him. He is so nice!! Parking is easy because theres a huge, free lot. Poor service, false expectations. I wish I had read the reviews before wasting my time. Myself and my husband went in on May 15th to order a bed and dressers. Yvonne was our sales person. She told us once we confirmed the size of our bed to call in and let her know what it was so she could modify the order. She said if we wanted to add to the order we would have to come in the store. When we called to confirm the size of the bed she told us we had to come in to do that (first lie) We later decided we wanted to add to the order so we went in to do it all at once. We even added a couch at this time. After going in to change the order we were called on June 23 and told our order which Yvonne told us would be delivered on June 26th was now going to be delivered on July 14th. And the couch would be delivered on August 17th. We were told that the size of the bed was never modified and she blamed it on a staff member named Stephanie (who was no longer with the company). She told us she would have the manager Camy follow up with us who never did. When my fiancé and I had time off to go in it was a mess. Yvonne held no accountability and again threw out unrealistic dates for furniture we had already been waiting 6 + weeks for. We spoke with Camy who have us $300 off of our order for the inconvenience and apologized on behalf of Yvonne. She told us more realistic dates a few minutes after Yvonne lied again. The manager said she's the only one with realistic dates (which seems crazy, all associates should have access to this info) She said the couch would be coming July 14th but the bed wouldn't be coming until September 17th. She then said that she honestly doesn't know when any of the furniture is coming because it's not on them. It's now July 5th and no furniture. I chatted with an online rep and was able to find out the couch would come this Wednesday (hopefully) but there wasn't even a date showing shipment for the bed and dressers any more. And of course no one called to update us that the bed and dressers were coming on September 17th anymore. We canceled the order for the bed and dresser cause who knows when it would come & if I hadn't gone online to chat with a rep I wouldn't have even known that there was no date listed. They reel you in with the sales 45%, holiday sales etc but they don't tell you that you'll get your furniture months later or that they have no idea when you'll ever get jt. They'll give you a date and that date will continue to get pushed back and then they'll tell you they never said it was coming on that date. AVOID THIS PLACE especially this location! go to living spaces or wayfair or somewhere else. Gina at bobs discount furniture in the same parking lot is really nice. She was able to tell us what was in stock that we could get soon and what wasn't. I can't believe Ashley's furniture/home store is still sending emails out about their sales. Said it would be delivered July 7 I threw out my old sofa and called to get information on when new sofa was to be delivered the day of delivery to find out no sectional was coming. I have requested to speak with a manager and a no answer here it is July 27 and I still have no sofa or any communication . I would never shop here again and I plan on asking for a refund. If I could I would give zero. Today July 28 I reached out to Ashley's regarding my sofa and was told there is no guaranteed delivery date at this point as it is back ordered again. Terrible customer service . They sold us a bed and didn't tell us it doesn't come with a foundation . The delivery guys rushed in and out and when I asked them said you need a box spring . I ask what think ness and says - your preference . But there's a 5 in wide slot on the sides - so I call their number - get out on hold for 25 mins and then the lone drops . I again call - again 30 minute hold - no answer - then I try contacting them through their messaging app - no one answers my question . And to add insult to injury I get asked if all my questions were answered . The call center woman i finally got hold off has no clue and can't connect t me to the home store . I am superbly happy with my purchase, delivery and experience with the Torrance location. However, I must share how the experience began and how it was turned around. I had my eyes on a particular sofa and oversized chair for about a year (doing my research, watching the prices - which do fluctuate) from Ashley's and finally went to this location in July 2020. As I walked in there were 2 reps (a woman & young man) speaking near the entrance (about 4 feet away) close enough to acknowledge me and yes they saw me. Initially I wasn't greeted, therefore I said "Well hello!". Immediately I was acknowledged and the woman assigned the young man to help me. However, this person was young, therefore, not a lot of experience & had only been with the store a few months I found out. He was also not aware of the chair I was looking for and even told me it was most likely discontinued...smh. At that time, I asked for another rep passing nearby, who I found had been with the company longer who mentioned she'd never seen the chair on display and wasn't sure if it was discontinued - but since she was helping someone already I didn't feel like waiting and decided to go to another Ashley location where I saw the chair on display. On my way out, the same lady who hadn't greeted me asked if I found what I was looking for, in which I informed her I hadn't and that the young man she assigned to help said that the oversized chair was discontinued. She asked which one, looked it up and apologized that I was given misinformation. I learned she was the manager and she (Cammy) turned my whole experience around and gave me a great deal! June 16 came and the couch never got delivered, so we had to go to the store to see what had happen. They told us it wouldn't be until another month for the couch to get delivered! When we asked why should we believe them this time, the person said that he actually couldn't give us a date because they did not know when the furniture will get delivered! One of the best Ashley Furniture Sales associate's, Lou Outland was "simply amazing", she assist me the whole entire time with my furniture purchase. Shopping for furniture most of the time, can be a bit overwhelming because there's so much to chose from and these days everything is so expensive. But Lou was very knowledgeable and explained all the details and craftsmanship of different sofa /sectional sets. I liked the Taupe color, Ricmen Reclining Set that was on sale. When I asked her questions she was on it. The one I chose just happened to be one of her favorite furniture sets in the store. If you are looking to purchase new furniture come ask for Lou. She did not hover and was very personable. I asked if she knew any delivery companies and she even help me with finding someone to deliver my furniture the same day. BTW The guy she recommended name (Vicente was very professional & handled my furniture with care) I'm very happy with my purchase. Spent nearly 2 hours there purchasing a sofa. Was very upfront needed by Easter . When the purchase was complete we were given a delivery date of 3/17 . Great we were happy.
