We purchased $2600.00 of furniture. Office and home furnishings from Ashley. The first problem was after paying by check we were told we could not schedule delivery until the check cleared which is understandable. The check cleared my bank 2 days later and when we called to schedule delivery we were told we had to wait 14 days to schedule because we paid with check. This even though my bank had already paid the check to Ashley. When I challenged this I was just told sorry but that is policy. So reluctantly we waited the 14 days to schedule delivery. Then we scheduled delivery for Friday January 13th. We decided to check on it since no one had contacted us regarding delivery. Then we were told the delivery was scheduled for Friday January 20th and not the 13th. Which means we now have to wait another week for delivery. When I told the customer service representative this was unacceptable she said sorry and that was it. No possibility to find a solution to deliver our furniture sooner even though they made the mistake. So our bottom line is that as far as we are concerned we are done with Ashley furniture. Their customer service is absolutely abysmal. The company is new to our area and I predict will not last long with losey service like we experienced. We will go back VCF where we always had positive experience. We definitely regrea not purchasing from them this time. By the time we get our furniture it will have been one month from the date that our check cleared and was paid to Ashley. Unaccepatable period! We give them zero stars!!!!! read more

Terrible experience. I was told I would get my couch in 8-12 weeks and it took double that. When I would call to check on it all they would tell me is they can't see anything in their system. Total liars. I would have taken my business elsewhere if I'd known how bad this store was. Make sure you look up the prices of the furniture on their website before shopping. The sales staff directed us to a sofa and love seat that they thought would fit our needs. My wife liked the sofa so we decided we would get it. The salesman told us he would work up a price and see if it was within our budget. While he was away I looked up these specific couches on their website to get an idea of the cost. When he returns he gives me a quote for the couches and with all the special discounts the total comes to about $600 more than the combined price online. I showed him the price online for the exact couches and he offered them to us for that price. I understand that these guys work on commission but please do yourself a favor and research before you go to the store to buy. Store was clean and staff was friendly. read more

From the moment my husband, and I walked in the store we were impressed. The quality of the furniture is excellent. The sales associate that was helping us was unprofessional. The bedroom set that I wanted to purchase was discontinued per the sales associate Cherelle. I asked could they sale the one on the floor for a discount. She told me she had to ask the manager. We waited what seemed like forever. She never came back over to us so my husband said forget it let's just go. What pissed me off is when I went to tell her we were leaving she was sitting on her butt and didn't have the nerve to get up and say sorry for the wait. She just looked at me like I was crazy or something. She didn't seem to know much about anything. I guess when I cool off I will go back. The only reason I am giving one star is because it is as low as I can go. My husband and I ordered a sectional on Feb 19 with a 4-6 week delivery estimate. Today is May 8 and guess what is still not in; yep, you guessed it; our sectional. Our delivery estimate has been changed 17 (not exaggerating) times. Apparently we chose the most popular sectional on the face of the earth. My husband and I are sitting in our fold up softball chairs in our brand new home because this store cannot get their act together. The ONLY bright spot at this store is Jasmine. Jasmine has been helpful, courteous, and unbelievably apologetic every time I call. if I could cancel this order I would but even after being nearly a month late Ashley wants to charge me a 30% re-stocking fee to cancel. RE-STOCK WHAT?? It is still IN your stock, it sure as hell isn't in mine. As seI contacted Ashley Furniture to report my dining room table splitting and having it fixed. I was contacted by the Claims Department on November 23 that my claim was denied for two reasons. The first reason was because we decided to have pickup instead of delivery and second reason was it appears we hit the table and caused the damaged. To be accused of causing the damage and having a claim denied has saved me from ever doing business with this company again. No one caused damage, instead the wood split. The fact I was called on Black Friday was a sign not to purchase my living room set I was seeking. I have spent thousands with this company and can't have the table repaired, not replaced simply repaired, is mind blowing to me. Nonetheless it was an expensive lesson learned for myself. I'll be sure to inform friends, family and colleagues of the issue I have had to make sure they don't fall victim to this type of treatment. We had a pretty good sales experience both times we purchased, but we're highly annoyed that the back of our chest of drawers was damaged being delivered and no one is returning our calls to get it fixed and we've been calling for 2 months. When we went in the second time to buy our sectional (a Friday), we raised the issue of the chest of drawers and Derek, the manager, assured us he'd call us himself by Monday with a resolution. Have we heard from him? No and it's been a month (and we keep calling). I guess we'll just have to keep on going in person and pester them that way, if calling us is too hard. Extremely nice staff!!! Dylan Hickson was our salesman. I initially called and talked with him on the phone and made arrangements to see him on Sat. 9/9/2017. We entered the store around 11am. We asked for Dylan and he not only remembered talking with me, he remembered what I was looking for. No sales pressure. He directed us on where to look for the chair and a half we were interested in. We found the one we wanted, he gave us a great price and reasonable delivery charges! He did offer extra services for the furniture, however, we declined. Tamika Parker was our customer service rep. and was very nice and helpful walking us through the purchase procedure. Many of the staff said hello to us and the store was is superb condition. Customer service is TERRIBLE at Ashley Furniture in Waldorf. It's one thing to say one thing and deliver 8 weeks later but at least provide someone to call. Don't try that number on their website because it is disconnected. On second thought, go ahead and try it - see for yourself. Too many choices for your furniture needs to deal with these crooks. This has been the worst buying experience ever! Is it possible to give negative stars! I purchased bar stools from this store upon delivery they were ok. After about two weeks they started to unravel, I immediately contacted the store. Being dissatisfied that I am experiencing this within just a few weeks of purchase I felt that I would rather have a different type of bar stool. Therefore went I spoke with the repair shop I expressed this concern. After about a week and half after the initial conversation with Yancy, I called back because I had no heard from the store. At this time I was told "oh my manager has been out and will returning on Monday", wait....you mean to tell me that only your manager can make this decision and in his absence no one else has the capacity to make this decision, mind you he's been unavailable for two weeks! 2.) After the managers return it still takes about three weeks to get an answer of "no you can't exchange we can only replace the piece that is messed up"....wait again I had to wait one month to hear this dumb mess. 3.) Now, at 8 am on Tuesday morning there is a supervisor, not the manager (that was not available during the extended leave of the manager, what good are you, ma'am) onsite when they tell me I can't exchange. This crazy lady tells me that she is corporate; corporate is right here in the Waldorf location.....bye Felicia! You are independently owned and operated but you are NOT ASHLEY FURNITURE CORPORATE OFFICE/HQ. 4.) What ever happened to customer service, why would I not write this review, what would make me want to purchase again from Ashley, what gives you the right to compare yourself to Ethan Allen or Bassett, you not even on Big Lots level at this point! I'm not asking for my money back, I'm just asking for a different set of bar stools, ones I would have more confidence in, hell would knows I may have spent more money on them. I wish i could give negative stars! Do not shop at Waldorf, MD location. They consistently "accidentally tag the wrong prices" management is horrible. Very bad customer service. Purchased a table, chairs, and sectional couch from Ashley. Also, purchased the so-called "warranty." After a few months, the table began to be discolored on the top. I contacted GBS enterprises (the warranty company) to file a claim. It literally took over a month for them to get a company to come look at the table. Some companies cancelled, some wouldn't answer phone, etc. Finally, we get US Quality to look at the table. This was on a Thursday. The technician said the table is defective and would be filing a report and send it to GBS. He told me to give GBS 24-48 hours for a resolution. Called GBS well over 72 hours later. AND THEY HAD NO RECORD of a tech coming out and that they never received a report from US Quality. Called US Quality back and they said they sent the report and even provided report number. Called GBS back, they said give them until Friday until they figure it out. If I don't hear from them by then, call them back. Are they serious? I purchased thousands of dollars of furniture from Ashley in the past, along with the warranty, this will he last time. The warranty is a complete mess! I just want an answer to my claim. It shouldn't be this big of a pain to file a claim. Completely disorganized and disrespectful to customers. read more

We searched for a long time for a couch we liked and finally found one at Ashley. The sales associate, Sascha, worked to get us a great deal on the price and made the whole process easy. We were told 2-6 weeks for delivery, and it was here in about two and a half. Rescheduled once for a snow storm but delivery on the new date was prompt, delivery guys were incredibly fast and efficient, and the sectional is awesome and in perfect condition. Only complaints are with the customer service over the phone when I called to check on the order; first they said nope, not in yet. Then the guy was like let me see something. I'll call you back. Then a rude woman called right back (I wonder how long it would have been for them to call if I hadn't called one week in ) saying our order was in and seemed very confused about what days were actually available for delivery. I was very nervous considering all the reviews on here (which of course I read after we purchased), but overall ended up going off without a hitch. So happy to have our new couch! read more

I am very disappointed with Ashley Furniture. I purchased my furniture on March 11 and I called to check the status 2 weeks later I was told the ETA to the warehouse was April 4 I called yesterday to do another stays check and I was told April 15 now. I have gotten rid of my old furniture because I was told April 4. If I would have read these reviews I would have never shopped at Ashley. I was also told to cancel I would have to pay a 30% fee. I was told a manager was going to call me back and still haven't gotten a call as of yet! DON'T PURCHASE ANY FUENITURE FROM THEM THEY ARE RIDICULOUS!!!! I wish there was an option for ZERO stars! They do not deserve any! I made a large furniture purchase at Ashley Home Store 5 weeks ago. They told us that delivery of our furniture would be between 2 to 6 weeks. They told us this numerous times and it is written on our contract. I have called every week to check status. The expected delivery to the warehouse date got pushed literally every week with all items being in the warehouse other than 2 specific pieces. Well here we are and they have less than 1 week to get the delivery to me within the contracted time period. I was told that they now will have all pieces in the next day, but now a piece that originally was supposed to already be in with my order will not be in for THREE more weeks. They couldn't schedule my delivery until the other items come in and then would schedule another delivery for that last piece that they already were supposed to have. They won't schedule delivery for the other items until they come in...and they likely won't have a delivery date until next week (outside of the 6 weeks). I asked to speak to a manager. I was on hold for a while before being told he would call me back when he got done with a customer. After an hour I called back and finally spoke with him. He essentially blames me! He says that there is fine print that says it is really 2 to 8 weeks. He admitted that they never mention that in store and that they do quote us at 2 to 6 weeks, but '75% of customers don't care when we have a slight delay because they know these things take time'. When I asked why the piece was missing that was supposed to be already with my order he says 'sometimes they will take things from one order to fill someone elses!!' When I said that was ridiculous...how will anyone ever get their orders filled on time, he told me 'you may be an organized person, but you are living in a disorganized society and cannot expect society to live up to your standards' are you freaking kidding me?!?!?! He will not help me at all to at least get delivery scheduled. He says I have to wait until tomorrow when the other piece comes in. He says I should be happy that they are offering to deliver that last piece as a separate delivery for free when it gets in because 'most people would be ok with that and happy to get free delivery'. He also told me that most people don't try to get free things out of them. I told him I didn't want anything but what I PAID FOR!!! He says I will get a $50 gift card...I don't want a gift card. I will never purchase from them again. I just wanted the furniture I paid for. Yesterday, I called back to see if the piece they were waiting on was in. It was. Rather than schedule delivery which would put us out past the 6 week window I was given, I told them my husband would just come pick up the furniture. They told me that wasn't possible as the charge was over $2,000! Uh...yea but it is mine since I paid for it. I asked to speak to the manager and he wouldn't speak with me. I said that I would instead like a refund since they refused to accomodate me at all. They told me we would have to drive the hour to the store just to get the refund, but I cannot drive there to get my furniture. I was told I had to call corporate. I call corporate and explain what happened. The lady tells me that, while the managers 'delivery of the message' was wrong, what he was telling me was not wrong. so...basically, Ashley furniture is disorganized and customers should just be ok with that. She says I cannot just pick up my furniture. She also says that I will be charged a 30% restocking fee if I cancel!! At this point I asked her what corporate's responsibility was? Are they supposed to help the customers when the stores are treating them poorly? I asked if customers were supposed to just accept when the store doesn't hold up their end of the deal? I then told her that I would be reaching out to the Sheriff's department and asking them to escort me to the warehouse where I would pick up the furniture that belongs to me as I have a receipt showing I paid for it. Ashley Furniture is holding it hostage. At this point she put me on hold. She came back to say that her manager told her that I was right. That, because I paid for the furniture in full, I was allowed to pick up my furniture. I do finally have the furniture minus the one piece that is still not in yet. Nothing has really been done at all to try to rectify the situation. The store and corporate do not care at all about how horrible they have made the situation. I was the person who had to try to come up with some sort of resolution and they even tried to prevent me from doing that. I also had to pay extra to pick up the furniture as the weather was bad so my husband rented a u-haul for the day to get it. The saving grace of my entire experience with Ashley Furniture was the customer service representative at the store named AUDREY. I was frustrated to the point of tears during my phone calls with Ashley Furniture over the past 24 hours and as soon as I spoke to Audrey, I knew I had finally found an employee who was competent and more importantly, who actually cared. From her calming voice to her speediness on correcting the problem, I wanted to reach through the phone and hug her. Ashley Furniture - don't let this one go, and on top of that, she deserves a raise because she is the only reason I would consider a future purchase at this store. My issues were: - A 7 week delivery, which I was prepared for, however my delivery was only scheduled because I finally called and asked what the hold up was. Had I not called, I would still be waiting. (And I didn't catch the name of the person who tracked down the piece for me and scheduled my delivery but THANK YOU to you) - A piece I had delivered was broken and it was the wedge piece that joined the entire couch together. (The delivery staff was VERY apologetic and kind during this frustrating experience) - Thanksgiving is upon us, I am hosting an event, and I could not schedule the re-delivery until the broken wedge was returned to the store. Ridiculous delay. - The sofa was too large (my bad for not measuring properly) so I needed to exchange for the loveseat. However, I couldn't tell it was too large until after the deliverymen left as the broken wedge was missing and was deceptive regarding size. I am outlining these things because as a business (and if someone who can actually effect change is reading this) I would imagine you'd care about these experiences. You have a wonderful showroom, great products, and valuable employees like Audrey: you can do better and I hope you do, because I'd REALLY like to spend more money here in the future. The Customer Service is AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!! I went in the end of Aug to purchase furniture (love the brand) and applied for a card to purchase my furniture. I was approved and told my limit was $2200 because they gave me an increase. Now the Synchrony bank is saying that I am over limit because they ONLY approved me for $2000 and the increase had nothing to do with them and it should have been explained by Ashley. I did a conference call with the bank and Ashley and the young lady didn't want to speak up and state they were wrong.I will NEVER purchase another item from Ashley because they do whatever to get you to buy furniture without being upfront and honest and them do not have your back on how they do business. Horrible customer service in terms of shipping. Told 2-6 weeks for delivery originally. I'm now in week 7 told half of my items are in the wearhouse. I can have some delivered and pick up the rest in 2 weeks on my own, or pay a 2nd delivery fee when it gets here on week 9. Everything is already late as it is, told they have an additional 2 week cushion and it's going to go beyond that. Yet the only solution I've been given is that I can pay for a 2nd delivery charge to still get the item 9 weeks after originally purchased. read more

Let me first say that every other experience I have had at this store for the past 4 years has been amazing! Today my husband and I were shopping for bedroom furniture and other pieces. We took our time looking and discussing what would work best for us. When we got to the register our sales girl Alexis(who was great) told us the total which was out of what we wanted to spend at this time. She said she would speak to the manager Mack. Mack then begins to ask us where we think he can take money off and stated if we remove this and you get a cheaper mattress then you can save money. He also then stated "you have been in the store over an hour, you should know what you want". He also began to give Alexis a difficult time. He made us very uncomfortable and frankly ticked me off. Hi Jessica, My name is Artavia and I visited the Waldorf Ashley Furniture store on 8/11. I have a few positive comments and also want to point out some negative experience as well. I will begin with the positive. I find it quite odd that I was sent an invitation to review the store today. Then when clicking on the yelp link; I immediately noticed there was a reviewer the same day I visited the store with the same sales rep giving positive feedback about the concern I had when I was inside of the store. It seems ironic - almost as if someone from your store had a feeling I would leave the store and comment on my experience, so before I could do so - they went in to try to leave a positive experience. Nonetheless, I want to share with you my experience (from a real customer) and not a store rep or manager posing to be an actual customer. First - I'm going to give positive feedback to two deserving employees: Herbie - Initially before visiting the store - I spoke with Herbie over the phone. Herbie and I set up a time for me to visit the store since I was coming from Washington, DC. He was so helpful and courteous over the phone, that I drove all the way from DC to Waldorf instead of visiting my local store. He was able to find what I needed, so I told him I would be there to test the furniture and purchase it when I got off work. Upon visiting the store and meeting Herbie, he was very resourceful and helpful. An overall great person to have on your team. Danny - also very helpful!!! I could tell he loves selling furniture. He's very enthusiast and loves his job. I think he should also be recognized for assisting Herbie the day I came in. (Thanks to Danny stepping in, your store almost had a $2250 sale!) Keyword is "almost" - which brings me to my final point. Upon entry into Ashley Furniture I was greeted by a sales person - but informed them that I was here to see Herbie because as I mentioned before, an appointment with Herbie was arranged prior to me coming to the store. On 8/11 I had planned to purchase the 3-piece saloone sectional and Alexee dining table with different tufted chairs. Danny was extremely excited about this because he helped me find chairs that were accommodating to my needs, since one of the tables I originally liked - Lavidor dining table and chairs had been discontinued. So he lifted up chairs and brought them over to the opposite side of the showroom just so I could visualize the set up. At that point, Herbie, Danny and I started wrapping up my sale and we walked toward the front end of the store so that I could be processed and set-up for furniture delivery. During that time, another manager stepped in to assist Herbie with the sale. He was the approver I assume on negotiating final sale prices for me. I felt very uncomfortable because the store was pretty much empty and I stood over a desk of about five people where I had to give me home address and personal financial information. This was very unprofessional being that there were two desk set-up nearby where Herbie and the manager could have sat me down to discuss my options. The manager informed two front desk employees that I was approved through financing and asked them a couple questions. The two woman in the front both looked like they didn't want to be at work and had "debby downer" demeanors. Now - if you are the front office/first face to represent an organization - you should always at least acknowledge a customer and speak or smile. I felt intimidated and also very uncomfortable. The manager asked one of the front desk reps to look up my information. And the lady just sat there while I stood on the opposite end of the counter. I then took Herbie to the side, and explained that I was uncomfortable and would reach back out the next day. After rethinking the experience, I decided not to return back to this location because your front desk ladies were very depressed looking and didn't appear to want to assist me. Until I decided to leave the store, that's when one of them said - "ma'am let me just check your financing". That should've been said when I first approached the desk, not upon me leaving. I apologize for this post being so long - but as black woman we need to get it together. We are always stereotyped about our attitudes and demeanors. So for the pleasant sisters who work multiple jobs and are able to keep a smile on their face and serve as they signed up for - I have total respect for. Others who lack the simple ability to speak and greet a customer inside of not acknowledging someone is a disservice to Ashley Furniture and your entire organization. There are so many people out there who need jobs and who wouldn't mind being friendly and want to actually help people. So you should really seek out those individuals. I hope you give Herbie and Danny my regards. And I hope they are recognized for the great service they provide. read more

By far the worst place to buy furniture at... still have never received all my items from August 2018. The manager mack is a liar! Promise to make my order right after my sales person ordered the wrong items told me to wrap up the chairs and he would have them replaced with the correct ones but then changed his mind... a lot of items were delivered damage and have been trying for months to get stuff repaired with no luck. Almost everything we bought has already broke or fell a part and we are still missing one night stand that they kept my money on and refuse to deliver. Not to mention it will take almost 2 months from the time you order to get your stuff. Very poor customer service I have emailed and called over and over and apparently the stores are individually owned and corporate can't do anything. read more

I went into the store on 3/16/18 to purchase a bedroom set, that I really liked online. Once I arrived to the store, the set was not one sale, but the sales associate stated they would match the online price. (This was Ashley's online price) After he entered all the information into the computer, we arrive to the desk to pay. A gentalman who stated he was the store manager reviewed the prices. His response was this is a 71% saving, I can't do this deal. Go order it online. read more

So we read the reviews online and on yelp, and I can say that we decided to see for ourself. The salesperson that helped us out (Tavon) was outstanding. He was not pushy and gave us our space while we looked throughout the store. When we finally decided on the living room furniture we wanted Tavon expeditiously helped us finalize and answered all the questions that we had. I did not feel rushed or feel like we were being fed BS at anytime. Overall there is a great selection and the price was unbeatable. read more

This has been the absolutely worst buying experience I have ever encountered. First of all, be diligent in checking online pricing from the corporate Ashley HomeStore website as this store will markup 2- 3 times the online price in the store. They WILL match online pricing but they wont even give you a hint that this option is available and that the price difference is so significant. Second don't expect much from delivery. Thier system is archaic and dysfunctional, you will be lucky to get your stuff delivered by the 2-6 week timeframe they swear to. I completely regret buying anything from this store and will spread the word around to stay far away from them and shop elsewhere. read more

First of all, when I entered the store on Black Friday the salesperson that sold me my merchandise was very helpful and friendly. The entire transaction from selection to purchase took all of a good 30-45 minutes, so this process was a breeze. But here comes the bad part...I was told that the furniture would arrive at the store the following Tuesday, Nov. 29th and I could pick-up both the rug and sofa. I called the store on that day and was advised that the rug and sofa had to be ordered from the warehouse and to expect it on that Thursday, Dec. 1st...okay I'm gonna be patient but this is not what I was told when you took my money. On Dec. 1st, I called the store and was then told, "No, the furniture is not going to be here until Monday, Dec. 5th." What the heck...I have been told multiple conflicting dates of delivery; plus, the rug that I ordered there is no definitive date as to when that would arrive at the store. So in now, its Dec. 9th and I get a call to come and pick-up my sofa; but there is no idea when I can get the rug that I should be able to pick-up with the sofa. I asked if I continue to get the run-around about the rug can I cancel my order; I was advised that if I cancel my order I would be subjected to a cancellation fee. Really....you had no problem taking my money, and then you are telling me I'm gonna pay a cancellation fee. All I can say is do not shop at Ashley Furniture....PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The inconsistency is unbelievable and the staff who you contact really don't care about the customer at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are other furniture stores in the Waldorf area that I have patronized before and have never had this type of foolery; but when I attempt to give this store a try this is what I get. Now I know that I will never buy from them again or will I refer them any business. I am so upset, that I am planning on calling the credit card company to file a compliant plus file with the Better Business Bureau. No paying consumer should be subjected to such poor service; especially after you have paid them for "your" merchandise. Stay away...go to Bob's Furniture, Value City, Regency, Marlo's and maybe you will get better service and merchandise. read more
