My mother bought a dining set here 3 years ago with a warranty. The table was wood and the table had welted in the middle. She was told over the phone that it was covered and gave her a ticket voucher with refund money. They are very unclear on what is included in the voucher so we had to repeatedly come back to straighten things out. With all this, the General Manager, Mac Mclean, was extremely unprofessional having a very condescending attitude with my mother. We got into it. He should definitely not be a general manager because he has horrible customer service. The sales reps were excellent and respectful though. Mac if u ever read this, I recommend that you take classes in customer service. Someone above him needs to fire him. read more

Ok, so we went looking for family room furniture. We left the store and came back this past weekend 02/09/2019. We selected our furniture, and we asked specific questions. Our sales person out right lied. He told us a price for protection of our furniture, but as soon as we get to the service desk, it was almost double. I was like, that not what you just said, he was like umm yeah its not $200 it was like $400. Now why didn't you just tell us that initially. He wasn't the friendliest and the whole attitude of the place was nonchalant. Asked questions about cancellation, got the information, I called back today, because I found something better that I liked table wise. I called and she states you have to come in, I was why when I asked about cancellation, the person at your desk, checking us out said we could call as long as its within the 72hr frame without getting a restock charge. So she puts me on hold to get a supervisor, to tell me the same thing. I didn't want to come here in the first place. He was very professional and knowledgeable concerning the mattresses that I posied questions about. He helped me make a buying decision that I am quite confident about. Horrible service!!! My fiancé ordered a dining room table when the table was delivered it was incomplete and could not be assembled we sent it back and they refused to refund our money without charging us a restocking fee. Yes a restocking fee for a product they could not provide. So we gave them a second chance and in two weeks the delivery guys showed again with the same damn table missing the parts it needs to be assembled. At this point I was livid I travel for work and I felt as though because my fiancé was going there alone they were trying to take advantage of her. I called several times and was never allowed to speak a manager then she goes back to the store and speaks to "Skip" the store manager he apologized and assured us we would get a full refund in 72 hours. well after 96 hours no refund we called back and they said they can't refund our money until the item is returned the item that we never accepted the item that went back with the same delivery people that they sent to deliver it and put it together the item that I no longer want and they can shove up their a$$. We informed them this is not our problem we just want our money back to which they gave us all kinds of excuses from the "the invoice is locked" to "it's still listed as out for delivery" none of these issues concern me we were assured a refund and we deserve one regardless of how incompetent their personnel are. NO ONE should do business with this Ashley HomeStore or maybe any others...they are not concerned with customer service or customer satisfaction once they get your money. My mother and I came to the store wanting to look at a sectional sofa after seeing a sale online. The sales associate we worked with, Richard Holmes, greeted us with a warm welcome as soon we walked in. He showed us the particular couch we wanted to see, as well as other sectionals that were similar but offered variety (I.e. Different colors, sizes, etc). We ended up choosing the original sectional we came for and Richard made sure we got the best deal possible. He even beat the online sale price with added benefits! Not only did he ensure we got the best price possible, but he was genuinely interested in making our experience a pleasant one - he was very personable and sweet. He gave us his personal cell phone number in case we had any questions or concerns. THAT is customer service! As for the financing aspect, the customer service rep, Renee Dawkins, made this as seamless as possible. She was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed before we left. While the Waldorf, MD store is nice, the customer service and service department is lacking in "cust service". I am a strong believer in word of mouth advertising and referrals which I have done for this place until this recent purchase. I will contemplate ever buying from this or any other store associated with this franchise based on the outcome of trying to get the couch purchased serviced. We purchased the "GBS Protection Plan" and are getting a run around with them standing behind their "service plan" after barely a month of our purchase and a defect in the couch. After various attempts and still working with the local store to get this resolved, we are still trying to get the service dept to do their part. The customer service and professionalism here is unbelievable. The staff is too relaxed and when asked to solve an issue no one has a response. My husband and I bought a dining room set was told it was ready for pick up and when we arrived was told that a 188.00 check we wrote was not cleared in their system. I proceed to show the lady it was cleared by my bank days ago and was told oh well by the manager it's not in the system. They then told me I needed to call corporate and also let me know if I cancelled the order I would only get a store credit. I've never bought from a store like this I just happened to see a dining room set that I liked and of quality. The customer service reminded me why I shy away from places like this. Went in for the Veteran's Day sale for living room furniture. The advertised sale was spectacular. Sales Associate DeMorris Young was great; greeted us immediately, was helpful but not too helpful. Steered us in the right direction and let us know where he would be if we had questions. So we decided on a full set of furniture to include lamps, end tables and coffee table. DeMorris gave us a very fair price which we agreed on for the 0% promotion plan. So we were set and went ahead and applied for the store card. When we get up to the sales manager, Rod Boyd, he gives us our monthly payment which was approximately $40 more a month then we had figured which added almost another grand to the price that DeMorris quoted us. So we tell him that is not the price we were expecting. He goes on a mini rant that DeMorris should not have quoted such a low price that included the 0% plan and delivery, and I mean he went on and on. Rod was not pleasant, and he was unprofessional! I did not need to witness him dressing DeMorris down (who ended up just walking away) and then be sassy with me. Luckily, the store manager walked in at that moment, and Rod asked him if he would approve the deal which he did! So we got the deal that we were quoted. If Rod did not like the quote, he should not have addressed it with us, the customer! He should have just honored the quote and talked to DeMorris after we left. Rod showed no customer service and I did not appreciate the condescending way he was talking to me. Anyway, overall I am extremely happy with the deal, DeMorris was great as was Renee, the customer service representative who did our paperwork, but Rod needs some schooling on how to be professional with the customers. read more

This is the third time I've visited the store. The first time, just window shopping, the second time we made a purchase and the third visit we made another purchase. Every single time the manager has always been very flexible and helpful and also our Sales Rep Ed Wycoff has been amazing!!! We are ballers on a budget and they've been amazing with every visit and every purchase. The first purchase was delivered on-time, the second purchase we're excited for delivery this week. Going to be reporting them to the MD attorney generals office for fraud. I got a flyer announcing a 60% off sale. I looked online and found a table I liked that was $599. When I got to the store, the table had no price on it. The sales person checked and told me the regular price was $800 but with the 60% off, it would be 3 something. So I asked him about another table and while he was checking the price, I looked it up on their website -- Reg $3 something, sale priced $184. sales dude comes back and tells me this is also an $800 table but with the 60% off it would be $3 something. So at this point I busted him. He tried to tell me internet prices are lower because you have to pay shipping. So I pointed out to him where it said shipping was free. I told him you all are jacking up the prices and then making people think they are getting a good deal by getting 60% off. I asked to see the manager. Sales dude went over and talked to the manager and told us he was too busy to talk to us. So hopefully he will have time to talk to MD consumer protection, and/or the attorney general's office. I have documentation to prove what I am saying. It is not right to do this and unless the customer checks the internet price they probably have no idea how ripped off they are getting. read more

The store is a great store, but there is one person in particular that I would like to give a great appreciation to which is Jazzmin. Jazzmin customer service is superb, I love that she she has knowledge about the furniture & was able to answer all of questions. She was very helpful and very engaging. Her professionalism is at a 10, from her demeanor to her appearance. At first I was skeptical about buying the item, but she made me love it even more especially when she explained the warranty and complimented me on my executive taste. If I could give this store less than 1 star I would! First, I was asked which day I wanted the furniture delivered and then I was told I could choose the window. The window was not chosen it was given. Then I asked if I could change the date, they said I need to pay a new shipping charge and a new delivery fee and if I chose to pick it up, I could not be refunded for my delivery. I am having a problem with a recliner purchased less than a year ago. So it still is under warranty which the store is not honoring. The frame or seat cushion had collapsed by 3 inches on one side of the chair. The store wants to charge me 125.oo for a repairman to come look at it. I refused cause I had purchased the extended warranty for 100.00 for an additional 5 years. The company GBS Enterprises will not honor that warranty either. Ordered a kitchen set and a living room set. The table was a counter height kitchen table. The associate ordered the wrong sized chairs for the table. Additionally, one of the end tables was damaged. I have waited for over 2 months for my furniture and spent over $4k there. I called every week to find out where my furniture was and they kept telling me that it would be in that week. Finally today they call me to set up delivery but they have nothing for several weeks out. I will never use this company again. I spent way too much money there to be sitting at a kitchen table with no chairs, or not sitting. I should have looked here before going to their store and I probably would not have went. I went to the store near closing time. The people were friendly and didn't rush me and showed me around the whole store as I was looking for a small love seat. I found one that was very comfortable and the price was reasonable too. I didn't buy it because I was only looking around to compare love seats with other stores. I hadn't made a decision yet. It's not to say they didn't have quite expensive items as well. There was some real nice furniture. Our shopping experience at Ashley furniture was a pleasant one. Our sales person, Claudine, was excellent! She spent time with us and was able to answer all our questions. I would recommend her to anyone. Unfortunately, when our furniture was delivered today, it arrived damaged. It's frustrating to take a day off work only to receive damaged furniture you've been waiting for and then have to refuse it, wait again and then have to take off again when they are able to reschedule another delivery date. Hopefully, it won't take as long this time around as they are only in our area a couple days a week. Great customer service at the story, sale person Yusuf Mustafa was very helpful and professional. The manager was helpful and was willing to step in to help close the sale. Mrs. Tamika Parker was very helpful with the contract and pointing out the details that had to be covered. I ordered on 2/16/18 and got the first delivery on 3/24/18. One of my items was cut so that item had to be reordered and I just got the final piece today 4/19/18. The whole process was completed about two months after I paid for furniture. I would shop here again but would probably pick the furniture up next time. The delivery service was okay but not as professional and willing to work with the customer as was Ashley Furniture company staff. read more

My experience has been awful. I ordered furniture from them a month ago. Since that time, I am the one who has had to call on a weekly basis to see what is going on with my furniture. First I was told March 19th. Then it became March 28th. Now they say mid April but that's probably another lie. One lady couldn't find the table I ordered on my invoice. Each time I call it's another issue. I have asked for a manager to call me and that hasn't happened either. The customer service at this store is the absolute worst I've ever experienced. Don't buy furniture from here. You will regret it. read more

Buyer beware when purchasing any items from this store and especially the so called warranty coverage. I purchased a couch set from Ashley in Waldorf, MD a little over a year ago and recently discovered that something in the frame was protruding causing cuts to children's hands and feet, my pillow was also ripped. I found the protruding piece while looking for my remote and injured my own hand. Needless to say, I reported the loss and was just informed by their warranty company that frame damage or defects along with an extensive list of other items are not covered. Of course, this isn't the same as the pitch they sell you when you purchase this useless warranty. Please check the quality of what you're buying and forgo the useless warranty. I have been an Ashley customer for over 15 years. I won't be coming back to the Ashley in Waldorf or any of the other stores the owner of this Ashley has acquired (Regency, Marlow and Rally's) in this area. Sent me broken furniture and told me to use wd40 if the squeak gets really bad. After arguing and hours of going back and forth because the manager was at lunch, they said they will send me a new one (6-8 weeks). I called their bank (synchrony) regarding payment and wanting to know if they will hold off until I received a new piece and they were awesome. Synchrony said that shouldn't be a problem just call ashley furniture and have the manager let them know. Of coarse when I called Ashley's back, the manager is at lunch and will call me back today/tomorrow. Their customer service is just flat out unacceptable and rude. I wish I would have spent my money at Bobs discount down the road. Ashley furniture is so fast to take your money, but slow when it comes to anything else... I just moved to Maryland and I was in a hurry to get my bedroom set. I already had in mind what I wanted because I went to another Ashley in another state. So when I came here I went to this Ashley big mistake ever. The first thing was that they had double the price of every furniture and they were saying that everything was 50% but sadly for them I had the pics of the same bedroom set with the real prices. So I told that to the sales representative, I told him that price was not right. So he started working out with me and he gave me a reasonable price for the furniture. I waited 2 weeks to receive everything, they only delivery a certain time around where I live ok good. I wasn't able to be home at that time cuz of work, so I asked a family member to receive it for me, then when the bed arrived I am informed by my family member that the delivery guy told her that they have the wrong legs for the bed so they can't put it together. I'm stuck at work and I can't do anything. When I get home and start checking the dresser it's all messed up, there's paint all over the mirrors at the bottom like a baby paint the dresser. I called the store and I said I don't want that bedroom set anymore because it's too much.. so what's the answer? O ma'am you can't return it, it's already to late because they delivery it.. so the bed it's not even together mattress is on the floor and you telling me I can't return it. I asked to speak with the manager, they came with the bullshit that he was busy with a customer like I haven't work in stores I know that's a big fat lie. So they tell me that the manager it's going to call me back, 3 days has passed and nothing. I keep calling the store everyday and every single day they give me a different story. They schedule a service to fix the damages on a dresser that I got damage instead of giving me a new one. But the legs they keep giving me different versions the last one was that they were going to deliver the legs to my house and then after I receive it I have to call the store AGAIN so they can come and put the bed together INCREDIBLE. I don't know much the area and I came here thinking that I was going to get good service.. no now I'm still sleeping on an air bed because I literally have nothing!! PLEASE AVOID THIS STORE DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID.. I was planing on getting more stuff for my house but no man screw them.. Ashley Furniture in Waldorf, MD is horrible!! Do not waste your hard earned money there. They sale you a price, but what comes to your house is not what you ordered. The furniture comes either used or torn. Have to send in orders to replace the items. On top of all of this, you get accused of damaging the furniture so they won't have to replace it! I have never been so drained from trying to work with such a company. Buying furniture is suppose to be a happy thing to do. All the stress they put upon me is ridiculous. After making a purchase yesterday, I get home and research what I had just purchased to find that the exact same Ashley furniture could be had from an online retailer with free "white glove delivery", an extremely discounted 5 year warranty, and for roughly 40% less than I paid in store. After returning today to cancel my order, the manager on duty that had to authorize the return had an awful attitude. "Good luck online" as he stormed away from the front desk. I can't imagine that this guy is having a bad day already, the store had only been open for 7 minutes at this point. Returns and cancellations are the nature of the retail sales world, there's no need to catch an attitude with your customers. Went to this location to purchase a new bedroom set. My current set was brought at an Ashley store in Texas and was still in good shape after many moves but I wanted something new. There was a great sale and Dylan was so very helpful answering questions and making suggestions. I had my bedroom measurements and layout and he even helped me measure the pieces to ensure they would fit. Ashley who completed my transaction was great and personable also. I'm glad with my decision to purchase from Ashley again and very impressed by the friendly staff. I'm definitely going back for a new dinette next and asking for Dylan! read more

This has got to be the worse store that I have EVER shopped in. If I had known how bad this service was going to be I would have shopped in a thrift store first! When I made my purchase I didn't have a definite delivery date because I was in the process of moving. The sales associate said it wasn't an issue and I could always call back to schedule a date. They harassed me for the next 2 weeks about my delivery because they didn't have enough storage space. When I scheduled my delivery date they didn't call or show up! I called back to reschedule the date and they made no effort to accommodate a date and time that worked for me. When I finally received my furniture it was scratched up. I purchased floor models but would have never bought something that was visibly damaged. I have no idea what happened to it from the time I paid for it (in FULL by the way) to the time it was delivered to my house. I have called corporate and the customer service there was just as bad as dealing with the store. They got me this time BUT NEVER AGAIN! I would take a wood shop class and build my own furniture before I shop there again. I'll stick to Value City where I NEVER have issues! read more

Went there today to look at a loveseat. The wife and I had been to Bob's Furniture and value city furniture earlier in the day. We were looking for a reclining loveseat. After going to Bob's and Value City Furniture, we were in total sticker shock when we walked into Ashley Furniture. Their prices are ridiculously high. Bobs Furniture and Value City furniture had what we were looking for in the $500 range. Ashley furniture wanted $2000+ for the same material quality love seat with the same features. The very pushy sales lady told us not to worry about the price though, because they were having a 50% off sale... which wouldn't matter anyways because it would still be 2 to 3 times as much as Bob's and value city furniture even at 50% off...She wasn't too happy when I told her this LOL. This is one of those places that makes their normal prices absurdly high, then does a 50% off sell to make it look like a good price. But that technique doesn't work after 3 to 4 times more expensive still even after sales prices. The sales lady said she wasn't sure she can get us free shipping, despite the fact there's were signs all around the store advertising free shipping on everything. Due to the fact that they're 4 to 5 times more expensive than their competitors, I highly doubt that I will buy anything from them. Add to that the fact they had the worst customer service out of the other places that we went to that day too. Will definitely buy somewhere else. read more
