We needed seating for our small apartment that could comfortably fit two people and a dog while also being practical and cozy. As a book girlie, I wanted something perfect for lounging with a good read, and that's when I came across the Ashley Stupendous Oversized Chaise--love at first sight! But the price on the manufacturer's site? Nearly $1,200 (not including delivery) and a 4-6 week wait. Determined to find a better deal, I scoured the internet. Facebook Marketplace? Shady sellers, sketchy vibes. Other discount sites? Either seemed fake, didn't ship to my location, or had questionable addresses (seriously, Google Maps had me side-eyeing some of them). Just as I was about to give up and pay full price, I decided to narrow my search to local stores--and that's when I found Z & R Furniture. At first, I thought it was another "too good to be true" site, but since I grew up in Woodbridge, I recognized the shopping plaza and knew it was legit. Could I have driven over to check in person? Sure. But let's be real--I had books to read. So, after running it by my boyfriend, we decided to go for it. Best decision ever. Our chaise arrived in just 2-3 weeks--way faster than the manufacturer's estimate--and the total price with delivery was under $1,000! The delivery process was seamless. They called my boyfriend 30 minutes out, then called me again when they were closer to confirm details. Once they arrived, they carefully unloaded the chaise and brought it straight into our living room without a hitch. Since we're right by the elevator, no stairs were involved, but the whole process was still super professional and efficient. I highly recommend checking out Z & R Furniture for your next big furniture purchase. Not only do you get great deals, but you're also supporting a local business--a total win-win!

I have had extremely bad experiences twice - once in 2016 and now in December 2025. In 2016, I was given a delivery window and they did not show. I allowed a two hour grace period because I lived in Fredericksburg and IYKYK. But at hour four, I started looking for ways to contact the vendor. Back then, you could call customer service and get them to call the vendor and have them call you. The vendor called and said delivery was attempted but they could not locate the residence and I did not answer when they called. Not true. If you ever have waited for something like a scheduled delivery or service call, YOU SIT BY YOUR PHONE, RIGHT??? No missed calls. I asked to speak to the driver who then said they would have left it out front, but it did not look like a good area. In front of what? If the could not find it, how would they know what the area looked like. I sent photos of my street to show the management my side of the argument- they should have been able to locate it. Especially since I described the location in detail in delivery instructions along with my phone number if they had questions. My delivery fee was not returned and I declined redelivery. I went to IKEA in three trips and 50 year old, 5ft , girly me with no coordination and even less upper body strength dragged in two dressers, a cabinet, two bookcases, and a desk. Fast forward (or not) to today. My delivery window was 8-12. At 1:30 I tracked the delivery through the app, but all it gave me was the time window. It did give me the option to text the driver. I chose the custom text option (you can choose to have the driver call you or send them a custom text) and texted them to please let me know when they'd be arriving. At 1:45, chose the call me option. At 2:00, I texted, "CONTACT ME BY 2:15 TO TELL ME WHEN YOU WILL BE HERE OR THE TIP THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN CUT IN HALF WILL BE ZERO!" At 2:30, I get a text saying, "Sorry for the delay. On my way." I asked "When?" Thirty minutes later he texts back between 4-5 - when I can't be home. So he will have to leave it outside the garage and I'll get to drag it in then unbox and move pieces in bit by bit. I understand that things run behind (thus the two hour buffer). But if you can't deliver until 4 or 5pm (It's the DC Metro area...Vaya con Dios) then DON'T SAY BETWEEN 8am-12pm. If you can, order online and go pick it up at the order pick up queue. Much less of a headache.

I was told the items I purchased would be available & ready for delivery on April 18th. I purchased them on March 23rd. I setup a delivery date for May 1 & was contacted on April 11th & told items (except for ottoman) couldn't be delivered until May 7th. Spoke w/a manager & told the ottoman would take approx. 6-8 more weeks before it could be delivered. Received a call on April 24th & told all items including the ottoman was available & scheduled for delivery on May 7th. I called to confirm on May 1. Received a text confirming delivery for all pieces the morning of May 2, then a couple of hours received another text saying the middle piece of the sectional wouldn't be available for delivery until May 28th. This is just ridiculous & I'm beyond frustrated. Just bad business period. I actually bought a couch for my nephew from another furniture store a couple of weeks ago & it was delivered w/in the same week. Needless to say I will never be purchasing from Bob's again. No way should I have to wait months for a couch to be delivered!!! And, the fact I keep getting told different information is highly unacceptable!

    I love my mattress and was given a pretty good deal on it..... but getting it and the box springs…read morewithout incident is a whole episode like in a soap opera. First off my first of (4) yes I said (4) deliveries went like this. Oct 4th, 2021 the delivery team came to take away my old mattress and box springs. Mind you the first red flag was they did not wear masks or boot coverings which I thought was the norm now. Unless the owner (me) tells them it's ok. But I let that slide because I was just happy to finally be getting a new mattress after having my old one for longer than I should. (I want give the years...lol but it's been a long time coming). So they take the old one out and bring the next box springs up first. That's when I seen the first of the issues which was some torn areas (pics included) on the box springs. So I ask that needs to be replaced so I called the store back. I got a female sales associate who said that I had to first refuse them and they would have to bring back up my old box springs. Now I live in a 3-story townhome so that's about 50-plus stairs and the delivery guys was already looking worn out. Then one of them was saying that I can keep those torn ones and they will still be replaced. I had the mattress firm associates on speaker and she was saying no they being lazy and that I would have to pay a $99 restocking fee if I didn't send the torn "new" box springs back. So there was a lot of back and forth between them which I thought was unprofessional AF. So I got off the phone with her and I was assured by the delivery guy after they called their warehouse manager that I would get a call in the next few days to set up the exchange. So I was like ok I'm believing you over the sales associate. As you guess that call never came. So I called mattress firm about a week or so later and explained about the box springs he quickly set up a delivery date for them to bring me some new ones. So a few days later the (2nd) delivery team came out and when they flipped the mattress over to get the box sprigs that's when we seen the extra big whole in the box of the mattress now!! (Pics included). I was like you have got to be kidding me! So for a 3rd time I had to call mattress firm and send pictures of the damaged mattress. The sales associate got me another delivery date (delivery #3). Delivery #3 comes around where I basically waited up all day after working the entire night shift before they came in flipped the mattress over and was looking confused. They called their manager and was told they couldn't take the mattress because of the damage they could be charged for it. I'm confused because that's the reason why you are here is to make a replacement. So AGAIN I had to call mattress firm for hell I don't lost count...3/4th time and tell them what happened. They going to tell me someone didn't put what the delivery was about in the paperwork so the warehouse workers would know there was a defect in the mattress. Really!?! This is getting entirely ridiculous!! So finally delivery #4 Nov 8th over a month since the first delivery guys came out came and went without a hitch. I say all this and gave them a 2-star because this is just unacceptable! Fussing in front of customers, no communication between the store and the warehouse on what to tell customers when there is an issue with a product, and just the numerous times you had to come out wasting my time. I would not recommend them to anyone. Mattress is good FINALLY but never again will they get my service unless they given out really good discount ls!
