5 stars isn't enough to describe my experience with Ashley Wells. She has been doing my hair for about 5 years. She recently made a move to this beautiful salon and I had to follow her there. Even if that means a drive in rush hour from Tacoma. Ashlyn Jamyson is a beautiful salon. I was greeted with smiling faces and a glass of wine! Woohoo! It's a very comfortable yet upscale feel. All of the girls are so kind and seem to love what they do. Ashley knows her color and cuts, and keeps my blonde locks looking and feeling beautiful. I originally came to her many years ago with over processed and dead hair. She has worked with me to bring it back to life and keep it there. I walk away feeling 10 times more amazing and beautiful than I could ever expect. This talented woman is not only great at hair, but so easy to talk to, and makes time fly while I'm sitting in the chair for 2+ hours. Ashley's work speaks for itself, and I could not recommend her more. read more

If you care anything about how you look, I would steer clear of this salon. I never write reviews, but this haircut warrants it. I went to Ashley Jamyson Salon on 7/12/26. I made the appointment and was told the cut and toner would be $80 (45+35). The photos I am attaching show me as I arrived at the salon (long hair, long bangs). The second photo is what I showed the stylist I wanted. I realize AI photos are not a depiction of your actual hair, but I wanted her to use it as a guide for what I wanted- no length off the bangs which were growing out, just blended as to be unnoticeable. We discussed that I liked volume, nothing slick to my head. I asked for internal layers, that would facilitate the hair turning under. All totally do-able. I first asked for more of an A-line lob, which the stylist said was beyond her capabilities. I should have heeded that red flag, but said it was ok to just do one length. Disaster ensued. The third photo is how I was allowed to leave the salon after my bill was $118, not $80. The lighting isn't great in the salon, and although I knew the ends were the total opposite of what I asked for, I assumed I could play with it at home and get it more to my liking. I walked in to my house and my daughters gasped and said "what happened?!?". I soon discovered not only was my length too short and blunt (no internal layers at all), but my bangs were bluntly chopped off and were the opposite of blended. I immediately got back into my car and drove back to the salon. The stylist did say that she could do some adjusting in an hour. So I went back home and came back to the salon. The stylist did try to adjust my bangs by trying to angle them, which made them even shorter and at that point they're really was nothing more than her skill level could do. The entire next day was spent trying to style it. I gave up and sent the salon manager an email detailing my experience along with pictures. She said the cut was perfectly acceptable, and the stylist had "followed the line of my existing cut", which was obviously not true. She said she did find a $10 overcharge for the haircut and then I was charged a $20 fee for a custom mix of the toner, which I did not ask for (also stay away from the EQ toner- you can see from the photos it did absolutely nothing to my hair). All she offered was to refund the $10, which she did. So, the salon obviously thinks this is a perfectly acceptable haircut. I am 55 years old, and this is one of the worst hair debacles I have ever had. The fact that the salon manager didn't have me immediately come back in to try to correct the obvious butchering with a more experienced stylist was shocking. I ended up paying another $100 to Kristian at Robert Allen Salon, who worked a miracle so I could at least be seen in public. I think the photos speak for themselves. I will let you be the judge and make your own decisions on whether or not you want to make an appointment here, but don't say I didn't warn you. Horrible technique and even worse customer service. read more

Very disappointed in the outcome. With the amount I paid and with what I received, the amount is not justified. After going on yelp, I seen many great reviews for the salon so I decided to give it a shot. I did confirm at the beginning of the appointment that the stylist was comfortable with this coloring style. Towards the middle of the bleaching ,I did question why we were not using foils, considering the appointment booking was for a full foil, she bleached the hair and put it to develop in one bundle.. When it came to the black on top, she stated she was using a 10 minute Express color. After coloring and processing, we went to the sink and proceeded to wash the color out. I understand that it is best to use cold water to prevent bleeding. I did not have a problem with that, but the continued use of freezing cold water to where we had to stop and take breaks because of the migraine the water was causing was extreme. She proceeded to wash the color, bleach and toners out. We washed with shampoo once and conditioner once. Normally, I have multiple passes of the shampoo and conditioner to ensure everything is washed out efficiently. One of my favorite parts of going to a salon and getting my hair done is the relaxing scalp massage. At which I did not receive. I could have overlooked the pain from the extreme cold water if I would've received any sort of relaxing hair washing, scalp massage. Doing my hair has always taken quite a long time so at this point, I was tired and ready to leave. After blow drying, and straightening there were also issues with the Wi-Fi so it took quite a while for me to pay. I was exhausted and ready to go so I did not put too much thought into the pricing of the appointment.. after a week had passed, and after two hair washing, I discovered the black has completely faded back to the original color. I walked into the salon with which is a dark auburn . Additionally, with the roots not being touched in the fading of the black hair, I contacted the salon . After two tries, I was finally told to call back on Monday to speak with the manager. We spoke and she stated she needs to speak with her stylist and she will get back to me. . It took a week for her to contact me back and leave a message stating the pricing is accurate that they should have charge me more for a color correction instead of a foil and color touchup. Also, she added since there has been so much time that had passed. There's nothing they could do about it.. I was not offered to come in and fix the color by a different stylist that was not offered a partial return. This is very disappointing. This is the most I've paid for my hair in over five years and I expected the price to match the service which it did not. The pictures you see are one. The next day you could see the roots were not touched with color. The other picture is one week after the appointment after two Hair washes the color has already faded to a lighter, dark auburn.. read more

Aleyna had been cutting my hair for over a year until my last appointment with her. She cut the sides of my hair with clippers without asking, which leave a very different result than when cutting with scissors. The grow out process has been horrific and after six weeks it still is. I have found a new stylist, and she concurs the hair cut was not a good one. I responded to Aleyna's automated email asking how my appointment had been - she didn't have the courtesy to respond but went ahead and canceled my next appointment. I later spoke with Lisa who basically let me know she really didn't care. read more

Today is July 8, 2025...I had an appointment scheduled at 11:00. I called at 10:18 AM to verify the time as I had it written down as 12Noon. I did not receive a call back until half past 11 whereby I was told my appointment was at eleven. I asked if I could come in later to no avail...the receptionist tried to I am enraged to be accused to have cancelled my appointment when in fact I called and left a message this morning for someone to call me back. I am told I was sent text messages...these I have not received on my phone, but they do show up on my phone app in my car...this is how I know they wanted to charge me half for the missed appointment and the second message I got from the car phone app chastise me for being abusive. No, I am enraged. I checked again my phone and google messages, and I do not see the text messages allegedly sent on July 6th to remind me of the appointment. 1. I am outraged to be accused of cancelling an appointment I was desperate to keep...I have short hair, and it grows out fast, I had planned to keep rescheduling every four weeks instead of eight. 2. I would not say don't go to this establishment based on the misunderstanding but be aware that their text messages may not always make it to your phone. I plan to check with my carrier as to why I am having this issue. 3. I did receive a confirmation from another salon establishment this afternoon on my text messages on my phone and google messages, for an appointment on Thursday. read more

I had an amazing experience in Brielle's chair today. I scheduled a haircut and style as I was just not loving my hair. Brielle took the time to listen to my concerns about my hair, talk out the vision, and she asked a lot of clarifying questions so we were on the same page. Brielle really helped me feel heard--and the results of my cut show! She nailed the vision, even without example photos, and I looooove my new style! I'm scheduling color with her next. I requested grey blending and to fix color of my hair.. it took 6 hours and my hair looked worse than when they started... I will never use the Ashlyn Jamyson Salon and Spa again. I contacted the manager and she basically told me I could pay to fix their mistake. read more

Yelena is a miracle worker! I went to this salon because my previous salon, while inexpensive, couldn't seem to figure out what to do about my frizzy, frizzy hair. It clung to itself like Velcro, was easily tangled, and one part seemed damaged. NOTHING I did worked, and I was frustrated and depressed. I read good reviews about this salon and decided to try it. Yelena correctly diagnosed the problem and, over a period of about three months, got my hair looking and feeling soft, frizz-free, and smooth. Best of all, the cut, style, and treatments she used revealed my natural curls and gave me wash-and-go hair, my lifelong dream! For the first time in my life, I've had compliments on my hair. Furthermore, Yelena is a kind, good-natured person I actually enjoy visiting with. You can trust her with your hair, I promise. I keep telling her she should sign my hair with highlighter like an artist signs a painting. I didn't have to wait long for an appointment, either. The salon is quite a bit pricier than my old cut-rate salon, but it's definitely worth it, even for those of us who have to pinch pennies. Highly recommend! read more

I've been getting color and cuts for 5 years from Allison. Her style is impeccable and she has a great eye for what's flattering with your bone structure and style. She is the only stylist I trust around here with color since my hair has always taken color poorly and tends to turn brassy unless it's done right. She has never rushed me through an appointment and I've always left feeling like she really listened to what I wanted and not just her idea of what I wanted. Highly recommend. read more

Don't get me wrong there are a lot of great stylists at this salon but unfortunately I got Grace who was new. I just moved and my hair was long and balayaged by my previous stylist. I went in to fix my roots and add a few lighter ends. I left with my hair almost entirely bleached and patchy. It was also so damaged after. The salon offered me $50 back because my hair was "extremely damaged before" and the fact that I didnt want them to fix it. I spent $200 for something I didnt ask for. I ended up going to the Dollhouse to get it fixed and my new stylist said it was one of the worst professional jobs she has seen and the bleach job damaged my long hair. I was more upset with how rude the owner was when I tried to get my money back.. read more

Like everyone else frantic to get a haircut and color now that we are into Phase 2 of reopening in Thurston County, I started calling hair salons to schedule an appointment. I'd been super curious about Ashlyn Jamyson Salon from the great reviews the salon had received. I went to their website and saw that I could make an appointment online. I received a confirmation for an appointment with Amber Lemmon after rearranging my work schedule and was super excited and looking forward to finally getting my hair taken care of by a professional. Unfortunately, not only was my appointment cancelled but no one from the salon, including Amber, bothered to call me to reschedule or return my text or phone call asking for assistance. Twenty minutes into my appointment, my stylist (Renee) told me her mask wasn't real. It had holes/mesh so she "could breath" and she said the owner knew about it and was ok with it. I expressed how upset I was and asked if she was vaccinated. "No. Are you?" I said yes and she said that's ok then. That is not ok with me. A fake mask is a violation of the state mandate and a lie. I walked out. If you care about COVID precautions, please ask hard questions at this salon or go elsewhere. read more

Grace was amazing! Definitely my favorite haircut I've gotten in a long time! I came in a little unsure of what I wanted to do, but she made some great suggestions that incorporated all of my own preferences and I walked out feeling like I looked awesome :) It's easy for me to get kind of nervous cutting my hair since I'm still new to having it short, but Grace was so assured & experienced I was relaxed the whole time. The atmosphere of the salon is lovely, very classy + professional but also laid-back enough that you don't feel self-conscious. I also appreciated how quick their response time was for scheduling an appointment. This is the first time I've scheduled my next appointment in advance before leaving, but I felt that sure that I want to keep coming back to Ashlyn Jamyson and I'll be recommending it (especially Grace!) to my friends too. read more

After many years and lots of heartache trying to find the right stylist/colorist for my very picky hair, I'm so happy I found Allison. She's not only professional and excellent at her craft, she's also really sweet, and I always look forward to our appointments. The last time I went in, she did a Balayage on my hair, and cut in some layers, and I get compliments everywhere I go. The color is beyond gorgeous, truly the best I've ever had (and I've been coloring my hair for a looooong time). I live about 1.5 hours from the salon, but I'll keep coming back, that's how good Allison is. read more

I have been to this Salon and had Bailey and she is absolutely fabulous but it's difficult to get in with her because she is so busy and works three days a week., so I scheduled with Erin for a 4:30 appointment, leaving work early rushing to get there on time which I did. I was greeted by the receptionist and she said that Erin was running a little late, no biggie I understand. At 5:00 all the stylist had left including the receptionist again no big deal but Erin still had not approached me ( I was the only one waiting in the reception area) and she was the only stylist left working with a client. At 5:10 I was going to approach her and say " how much longer' but I didn't want her customer to feel awkward so I sat there. So at 5:15 I left, I figured 45 minutes was long enough to sit and wait and not even " hey I am sorry I am running late, do you want to reschedule or I will be with you in 5 minutes" nothing. Then I though oh she will call and apologize but nope not even that, they have my number as I got plenty of texts to remind me of my appointment time. read more

So I have heard before that women pay more for haircuts because it takes longer but when I get a haircut started after the man sitting next to me and finish before him (and yes I have really long hair) it really sucks that I am still paying more here based on the fact that I have a vagina. Are there any salons that charge equally? I am so tired of this garbage and would expect more from a woman-run salon. It was bad enough that the woman turned the front of my hair grey after adding a toner that I did not ask for on freshly colored hair which is now breaking off because of it. read more
