I had some food comps from my Boyd account and took my boyfriend here for dinner this evening. It was fairly slow so we were seated immediately. This is a casual restaurant with mostly very solid food, and our server was very try attentive. We started off with the Szechuan wontons and potstickers (both fried). The wontons were my favorite of the two, highly recommend! We then split both the general tsos chicken and the pad Thai. The chicken was phenomenal, just sweet and tangy enough sauce, perfectly breaded, and the veggies were fresh with just the right amount of crunch. The pad Thai I will likely skip in the future--this is one of my go-tos when I get Thai food, but there was something a little "off" with the smell and taste of this. I would have asked for a refund for it if I hadn't already been using meal comps. read more

Updating my review, my first experience was good but ordering these last few times my experience has been lackluster. I'm not sure if it's a new cook or food is just not up to par anymore. I've ordered shrimp lo mein which has been dry and clammy, and Asia deluxe has all the ingredients but the rice has been half cooked. We celebrated my friend's birthday here at it was a lovely experience. We arrivaround 6:30 and were seated rather quickly. When it came time for drinks, I was informed their bar was quite limited but we could bring in drinks from the circle bar, so needless to say I did. I got the shrimp fried rice and it was plentiful. Since they weren't too busy, we got our food rather quickly. While it was good, it wasn't great and was a bit bland. Luckily I was able to get some pepper and soy sauce and it made a difference. Our server was friendly, attentive and made our dining experience pleasant. This place seems to be a favorite of my friend, especially to celebrate her birthday so I'm sure we'll be back next year. read more

Discovered this little restaurant on yelp one night when we went to the casino. It is tucked away inside the actual casino so it can be a little easy to miss. But it was a great addition to our outing for a night of gambling and fun! The full menu and the hot and ready food was a great Addition to our night. The staff was friendly and service was very fast and as I said, the food came out piping hot! There are several different options, especially for non-meat eaters or more veggie eaters. I tried the lo mein, which was a good dish, but I wish it had a little more flavor maybe some additional spice or salt. But overall everything in the meal was good. We tried out a sushi roll along with the crab Rangoon, which you can never go wrong with. This is a must stop if you're having a day or night out in the casino! read more

I have had Asia a few times now and it never disappoints! I have had a great experience every time. I don't think I will ever stray away from the general tsos chicken, it's so delicious and the serving makes the price well worth it. I would highly recommend trying it! The staff is always wonderful, I feel like they really go the extra mile to make the experience great, they are always to polite and kind and even box your food for you. Asia is definitely a unique vibe as it's a more upscale restaurant that is actually inside the casino which is super unique and interesting. Great dinner on a Friday night! We had to wait a few minutes to be seated, but after that it was smooth sailing. Our server was a delight, she was attentive and ready with suggestions when we asked. I tried a Cascading Soju, which was refreshing. The candied ginger on top was so pretty. We started with the classic Crab Rangoon, which I recommend. For my entrée, I had the deluxe fried rice and it was really tasty, but I would have liked some veggies in it and less onion (but that's my personal preference). My friend had the honey walnut shrimp and that dish is a winner. The manger came by and was very nice, he also offered us his recommendations. They deliver towels to you table to clean your hands and have regular utensils and chopsticks on the table. And since everything was so good, I snagged a to go order of potstickers for lunch the next day...they were fantastic! I look forward to going back, as I've got the Pad Thai on my mind. (Oh! Asia is a really cute, (you guessed it) Asian themed restaurant tucked in the far back of the casino floor at Ameristar Casino. I was given fresh warm towels upon first being greeted by my waitress, which was a nice touch. I ordered the crab rangoon, the Asia Delux fried rice, and a cocktail (sorry I forgot the name of it but it's a rum punch). First of all, the drink looked really exquisite with the large, haute couture looking fruit slice hanging on the rim of the glass (sorry i don't know what fruit it was but it had a bright pink edge with a white center with black dots, very chic). It was extremely sweet, kind of too sweet. The restaurant only has three signature cocktails on the menu. On one hand, that probably helps them streamline their menu, but on the other hand, they need more options. The crab rangoon was extremely fresh! Have you ever had freshly made crab rangoon? This was still warm and soft from just coming out of the grease - fresh. It was good. the Delux fried rice, wasn't bad. It definitely isn't your typical shopping plaza Chinese food variety, but is what you'd expect a nicer restaurant's option to be. Beef, chicken, shrimp, and veggies come in it. I definitely had to add soy sauce to it to give it more flavor. The funnest part of the meal was when I got the check. it's served in a giant, homemade fortune cookie that you can eat. It was really cute and creative. Asia is a nice addition to the arsenal of restaurants at Ameristar. The staff was all friendly and knowledgable about the menu as well. This is my new favorite restaurant. We've been back once a week every week since discovering Asia. It is inside the casino but it's worth going to! Everything I have had has been excellent. We throughly enjoyed the Szechuan Wontons- I like them fried better then steamed but both ways are good. Pot stickers were fairly standard but high quality. The lychee Martini is fruity but clean tasting. They have some of the best General Tso chicken I've ever had. The texture of the chicken and breading is perfect. Crispy but not overtly breaded and tender chicken. The sauce is addicting. The willing black pepper beef was savory and peppery exactly was I was looking for. The veggie fried rice has lots of veggies that are perfectly cooked not over done. My the Shaking Beef is beef tenderloin dish comes with a lime wine sauce is very unique and refreshing. The hot chili catfish I highly recommend. I don't know what I expected but it's tender and spicy and savory, I will probably order it every time I go, it's that good! The service is on point. They are friendly, attentive and the food is cooked very quickly. Another plus they are open late! A hard thing to find these days decent food that is open after 8pm is hard to come by. I enjoy this restaurant, the chefs are all consistent with the three times I've been here- I just wish I didn't have to walk through tons of cigarette smoke to get to this gem tucked away in the back, but this review is for the restaurant, not the Casino. On my most recent visit, we tried another full offering of tons of things, and everything was tasty without being overly salted, or greasy. We started with the steamed pork buns, which were a little dry, but that was the only thing that was notably subpar. The fried potstickers were SO GOOD. I forever will remember to "STICK" with these when getting an appetizer. The crunchy coating on the outside adds a nice kick of texture. We also tried the drunken shrimp and pork appetizer and it's very spicy- I enjoyed the tingling on my lips from the chili oil, but be warned it will not be for everyone. The flavors in it though, are worth braving through some heat. My duck fried noodles were rich, moist, and a large serving. I took half of it home. I would have wished for more bok-choy (I added it at a charge) to add some color and more texture to the dish but man, it was so good. My friend's chicken pho was one of the best she's had, in a long time. It was light, but the broth was well seasoned and also lended a great base to drop all the other goodies into. A decent amount of chicken in there, including the fat for some extra flavor. Service has been consistent, friendly, and prompt. Well, this was a unique find. Tucked into the back corner of the casino floor, Asia is a culinary tour through China, Vietnam, and Korea. The pho is terrific - deeply flavored and great ingredients. The lemongrass chicken wings are sticky goodness, as are the Szechuan dumplings. I ordered the hot chili catfish and was delivered my own personal wok. Not only was it a great presentation, but the meal was outstanding. My date drank some sake (the classic Wandering Poet) and I had Taro boba tea. The team there was very nice and incredibly hospitable, and they invited us to come back for the dragon dance on Chinese New Year. I look forward to quick return. read more

Wow, where to even begin. I would mention that as I write this four days after eating there I am still getting over food poisoning. I can't prove it was from here, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt and simply talk about what happened there. First, one of the people in my party was looking for a shareable sake and explained that to the waiter. He said he wanted a small bottle or pitcher to pass around the table. Instead he brings out a flight of three small amounts of sake, which was not shareable at all. Fast forward a bit and the manager admitted the waiter "has a major language barrier," which is not good for the role of a waiter that needs to be able to answer customer questions. Second, one of our party (the same with the sake misunderstanding) had ordered General Tso chicken. I almost ordered the same thing (as usual when we go for Chinese), but decided to try something different. I have no idea what they put on their, but it smelled so foul that I couldn't eat my food, which was fine. Putrid is the only way to describe it. When the waiter came back, we said to take it back, that it smelled revolting. He laughed about that and took it away. At this point, the store should have ended and we were ready to just pay and leave. We had stated up front that we needed separate checks (party of 4), which he said he understood. When it came time to get the check, we again reminded him we needed separate checks. One member of our party only had an order of pot stickers and that was it because he only had $15 in his account (the pot stickers where $7.99). He said he understood and asked for credit cards. The others (I was paying with cash) protested, but he insisted he knew what was being asked and he needed the cards now. They handed them over. Once back at the table, before I could get my check, the others immediately demanded a manager. His idea of separate checks was taking the total and evenly dividing it four ways. This over course caused the one member of the party to overdraft his account. The manager was able to make things right. She took off the sake and the General Tso chicken and (claimed) that the credit cards he ran was "not finalized" and therefore were not fully charged (spoiler alert: yes they were and yes, the overcharge hit). She at least had the decency not to try and recharge for the pot stickers. Needless to say, there was way too much wrong here to ever go back. read more

This is a really good place to go eat at Ameristar. The food is very authentic. The Shaking Beef and Pho are at the top of my list. The Mango Pear tea is a must. The pot stickers and Beef Satay are also tops. The Salt Pepper shrimp is very good. The Pad Thai is also very good. The only draw back to eating at Asia is the smoke from the casino. It has a tendency to hinder the flavor. But over all I have it a five due to the food and the service I have received. The server that I would recommend to get is Bianca. She's great. Every time I have been she has waited on me. Personality is great service is great. Hope this helps!!! read more

What can I say....the food, service and atmosphere was great. This is a late post being that I had hand surgery afterwards, but nevertheless, it was great. We had the egg rolls, noodles with chicken, and some OMG shrimp that was crusted with pecans I think and was sweet. These were the best shrimp I've tasted in a long time. I ate it with some rice and I was in heaven. The only drawback was the location. You have to cut through the casino to get to it and I'm not sure if you can bring a child. I have been coming to Asia multiple times a month (and sometimes per week) for the last few years. When I first started going there it was revelation, great Vietnamese food offered late night in St. charles of all places. But for a while now it been getting worse. They used to let you call in your order, but now they don't let you, so if you want the food you have to wait an extra half hour at the casino to waste your time and money. Sometimes the food is good, but a lot of times now they seem to be out of everything. They don't even know it sometimes until you've been waiting for 30 minutes and then they try to bait and switch you into getting something else as a replacement. The manager Tim (larger white guy) seems clueless - I've never met a restaurant manager with worse customer service skills. When they tried to switch my order again tonight and I refused, he just processed the refund without saying anything and then barely mumbled an apology as I'm leaving. Most of these problems seemed to start happening once I started seeing him there, so I'm not surprised by this lackluster interaction. There's another manager and she seems to run a much smoother ship. so maybe you will get lucky. But I am done with this place - food is twice as expensive and it takes 2-3 times longer to get it vs when they opened. read more

The customer service was phenomenal. The manager made us some Vietnam coffee and Green and Black Tea (yum). The servers were attentive and made sure our drinks were never empty. Everything we had was delicious. My favorite however was the honey walnut shrimp. It had a great flavor and although I was stuffed, I kept going back for more. Also the wontons with the special sauce was a favorite of mine. General Tso's was another one I couldn't stop eating. All in all at the end of the night, I was stuffed and happy. They add a special touch with at the end of the night giving you a warm towel to clean your hands off. Would definitely go back and have dinner before a night out at the casino. read more

For my sister's bachelorette party, we chose Ameristar as the location and we were SO thankful that Asia was an option for dinner! Andy provided excellent customer service, both on the phone when I was making the reservation and upon our arrival that night! He quickly seated our group of 20 in a small private area. The decor was perfect and my sister was very pleased with the entire package! When we got a little too rowdy, he closed the sliding doors so we didn't disturb the other diners, but also left the doors open so we could have the full dining experience! We filled six small tables, which was great for making conversation while we ate. The warm towels before dinner were luxurious. The drinks were very delicious! Everyone enjoyed their entrees and were relieved to have many options! We received our food VERY quickly and never felt rushed! We could have stayed longer :) After dinner, each table received complimentary FLUFFY ICE dessert to share, making the dinner special for everyone! Every staff member stopped by and wished my sister luck and she was gifted with Mr. and Mrs. (black and white) Chopsticks--she was very pleased and felt extra special! Our leftovers also made for a great late-night snack after enjoying the casino! Andy allowed us to separate checks by table, which made dividing the bill very easy. We had the pot stickers for an appetizer, they were really great and the filling was perfect. My husband had the Pad Thai. I thought it had a great flavor but he thought it seemed pasty. I would order it again. I had the blacked pepper steak and would not order it again. A bit too hot with spice but the sizzling pan was so hot my husband was almost finished eating by the time my food cooled down enough for me to eat. The beef was pretty tender for the cut but seemed like a vacuum packed cut of meat versus fresh. The texture was soft compared to firm with fresh meat. I would give it another try as all the food coming from the kitchen looked delicious. This is the new Asian restaurant in Ameristar casino, which is located inside the casino floor on the first floor under the poker room. By being inside the casino it basically makes this place 21+. We have actually eaten here three times since it opened, and each time has been a good experience. The restaurant itself is somewhat smaller, but that is probably by design as many people are just stopping by in between gambling, or getting take out to bring to the poker room or hotel room. We sat down to eat each time, and the dining area is really well lit with nice decor and very clean looking. You can also look out into the casino and watch people lose their money. Between our last two trips, I ordered the chicken pad thai both times, and my fiance ordered the general Tso's chicken once and the Singapore noodles once. The pad thai is really good, not that spice, although you might be able to request it more spicy. There was plenty of good quality chicken in the dish and there was more than I could eat by myself. MY fiance's dishes were similar in terms of quantity of food. The general tso's came with carrots and snap peas along with steamed rice and really tasty chicken. I would compare this to the type of general tso's you would find at PF Changs or a similar "nicer" Chinese place. The Singapore noodles were a little different than what we normally order, as it is a curry dish. We don't usually order curry, but we had tried this during a Yelp event and were hooked. The curry isn't overpowering, and the dish is super tasty with noodles, chicken and some veggies. Would definitely recommend this dish if you are looking for something a little different. Overall, we have tried a good range of what they have to offer, and everything is high quality, but the prices are very reasonable. Most entrees are in the $10-15 range. And if you have casino comps, could be much less or even free! IF you are at the casino and are hungry, this is definitely a good choice to get some good food for a good price. The chicken pad thai I ordered was prepared fresh and was very good, my wife had a curry dish that was also very good, and in both cases we got way more food than we anticipated. Service was friendly and prompt, and the interior decor was modern / traditional Japanese/Chinese/Thai. We also ordered hot tea that came to the table very hot and in an iron kettle that almost took two hands to lift...(interesting).
