I was expecting Indonesian food however it had more of a Thailand influence. So I did not get the experience I hoped for. The restaurant has pretty decor, but it was pretty chilly inside; did not feel like Indonesia. The staff is fabulous. They were very prompt courteous and explain the menu well. We were hoping to have a some non-spicy options, but not so; although our waitress offered to have the spice put on the side. I can't say I thought the food was worth ordering again as it really wasn't quite my taste or expectation.

Everything about this place is top tier, from the service to the ambience to the food. My friend and I had dinner here on a Thursday and were greeted and seated immediately, the server politely explained the menu to my friend who hadn't been before and helped me select a cocktail. Then came the food! The hamachi and the salt & pepper tofu are two of my favorite dishes at any restaurant on St Louis. The shrimp toast and gyoza were delicious too, and we finished it off with the coconut cake. Everything was plated beautifully and tasted delicious. Don't miss a chance to try this place! You won't regret it.

This is solely a review for happy hour! My friend and I stopped by on a Thursday early evening to try some items on their happy menu. We didn't make a reservation but were seated quickly at the bar. We ordered the trashed gyoza, the salmon avocado bowl, the chirashi bowl, and finished with ice cream. The bartenders were very helpful and friendly and everything was delicious! I especially enjoyed the salmon avocado bowl-- the salmon was nice and tender and the avocado was just right. I've heard great things about the rest of the menu as well and hope to try it out as well sometime!

This is one of those restaurants where you can't go wrong with anything you order to eat or drink! We had a table of four people and got 7 dishes, which was the perfect amount of food. Our favorites were the shrimp toast, isaan hamachi, and salt and pepper tofu. Highly recommend dining here and trying all the things!

The food is incredibly creative and flavorful, every dish is felt thoughtfully prepared. I also enjoyed the spring cocktails, it was so refreshing and perfect for this weather. The space is so cute and cozy. The staff is kind, helpful and professional. I highly recommend!

I've been to iNDO several times. It feels like a restaurant you'd expect in NYC, LA or SF, sleek and polished, you get the vibe. It's not a "book a flight to St. Louis for this" destination spot. You should try something quintessentially STL instead. But if you live here, it's worth trying. The staff appear to have been here for awhile which adds to the sense that they're building something solid, not just trendy. Regarding food, it's Asian fusion, and for the menu we had, specifically its Japanese technique layered with Southeast Asian and Korean-leaning flavors. More concretely it was sashimi + nori + rice kind of style. I'm Korean so banchan + nori + rice is our staple and home cooked meals. For that reason, the price wasn't justified but it's tasty. Our orders: Hirame Sashimi: flounder, leche de tigre, roasted grapes, crispy rice noodles (18) - not a flounder fan, but this was good! Kanpachi Sashimi: amberjack, caramelized onions, marinated daikon radish (22) - usually like amberjak, but this pass next time Salted squid: permanented, chili paste, sesame seeds, rice, Nori (17) - so Korean food like and good, but I can eat this at home! Bluefin tuna sashimi: assorted cut of dry, aged, fluff, and tuna, pickled kizami wasabi, ginger scallion sauce, ponzu (46) - the sashimi was surprisingly really fresh for a non omakase style place

This is the BEST restaurant that I've been to in STL so far!! First, the service was absolutely wonderful. Our server was super nice and knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive to our table. The food was purely amazing: - The Sake Sashimi was absolute chef's kiss (rate: 10/10). The fresh sashimi in the ginger mint sauce left us speechless, the salsa gave a fresh and fruity burst of flavor, and even the fried chips on top had a ton of flavor! - The Isaan Hamachi (rate: 9.5/10) was also a must! I first tried the candied garlic on top, and it was truly sweet with only a hint of garlic. The yellowtail was also super fresh, and the coconut sauce brought out even more flavor from the yellowtail (and masked any fishy taste)! - The Massachusetts Scallops (rate: 9.5/10) was one of the best scallops I've ever had. Topped with crab and combined with the pea puree, everything complemented each other so well. There were only two scallops, but they were large and super filling. - The Shrimp Toasts had layers and layers of flavor (rate: 9/10)! The shrimp was inside of the toast, creating a super umami flavor, and then the light and fruity topping and sauce, along with the thin slice of cucumber, truly made this a party in my mouth. - The Chili Garlic Noodles were super nutty and so good (rate: 8/10)! The noodles were slightly spicier than expected, but the spice was a quick burst of flavor, so the spice didn't overpower the dish at all. The noodles were mixed with vegetables and topped with a crunch - definitely make sure to mix before eating to get the different textures and flavors in each bite! We also got cocktails (Pretty in Pink & Sands in the Sun), and both were really yummy. Last, we got a dessert - homemade ice cream by the Sous Chef that day: soy ice cream with red bean! Flavors were all subtle but together they created such a unique and beautiful end to the meal. Came here for my birthday, and I will certainly be returning!

First time at INDO for Valentine's weekend and we will absolutely be back! These were some of the best plates I've had in the past year!! We had a reservation and were seated promptly. Our server was so helpful in explaining the menu and helping us pick a 5th dish to round out our experience. The dining area is dim and had great music. So perfect for a date night! We got a variety of plates, but the highlights for me were the sashimi dishes, especially the blue fin deluxe plate! Our server mentioned that they'll curate a "food journey" based on what we ordered and I definitely think that's true. Each dish followed the previous one well and had such fresh flavors. The short rib and steak dishes were also filling, which helped round out our experience and made sure we didn't leave hungry. We'll be back!

Came here for a date night, and it had the perfect vibes for it. Made a rezzy for early evening; when we got there, it wasn't full anyways. Staff was very nice, and made excellent recommendations. We ended up order 5 dishes: potatoes, isaan hamachi, chili garlic noddles, japanese eggplant, and shrimp toast. All of them were delicious, but I'll start from the top down. Best dish: isaan hamachi/yellowtail. The fish was very good with a good/pleasant texture, very complex/dynamic flavors, the sweetness of the candied garlic and the richness of the coconut naam pla. Next is the japanese eggplant. Also very good texture with a really nice umami flavor and slight spice/crunch from the chili crisp. Shrump toast is also really good as well too. There was a good balance of flavors, richness of the mango sweet chili cut through by the cucumber salad. The potatoes were also phenomenal; I think it was a specialty item that's not always on the menu. It tasted like potatoes bravas, but more Asian. Finally, the chili garlic noodles were just okay. It paled in comparison to the rest of the dishes; it was a basic, straightforward noodle dish with soy and mushrooms, with a decent umami flavor. Overall, nice place. 4/5 stars.

Indo has become one of my favorite spots in STL (top 5) the food has been delicious every single time I've gone. The vibe is nice, calm, and intimate, but the space is on the smaller side, so reservations are highly recommended. Parking can also be a little tricky (especially with the construction). Here's what I've tried so far: Food (Dinner): Japanese Eggplant - My boyfriend's favorite. Sake Sashimi - This was really good but I prefer Isaan more Shrimp Toast - My personal favorite; the flavors were amazing. Issan Hamachi - This one surprised me, but I ended up loving it. Drinks: In the Mood for Love Lychee Martini (requested) I loved it so much the first time that I came back and tried the Palm Sugar Ribs it sweet, savory, and super yummy. Then I came again for happy hour and tried: Prawn Chip & Dip - Great starter and highly recommended; the dip was delicious. Trash Gyoza - Still yummy, but I prefer the dinner-menu gyoza. Salmon Avocado Bowl - I know Indo is known for sharing plates, but this is something I'd happily eat all by myself. Chef's Choice Chirashi - All the toppings and flavors came together nicely, but I still prefer the salmon avocado bowl. Overall, Indo is consistently amazing with great flavors, great atmosphere, and so many dishes worth coming back for. If you're looking for elevated, flavorful plates in a chill setting, this place never disappoints.

Repeat visit to indo for my husband's birthday !! We tried the summer cocktails just before the menu changed . They were lovely. We sat at the gorgeous bar and had a great time . The food and drinks were delicious and we stick to sashimi for the most part. The bartender and server were very friendly and had helpful suggestions . It was a random Tuesday and easy to get reservations but highly recommend booking in advance. Also there is construction nearby and some roads are closed in Nov 2025 so plan accordingly

One of the best restaurants in St. Louis! If STL were to get a Michelin Star , INDO or Sado (their other location) would be one that would get it. They definitely got all their flavors down! I don't really like veggies that much, but this makes me start liking veggies. The Cauliflower was amazing! Service is great! I usually sit at the bar when I go by myself, but I do love their dining areas, especially in the back where you can see the outdoors. Highly recommended!

Indo is an expensive meal, but it's absolutely worth it for a special occasion if you like seafood and fine dining. I took my boyfriend for his birthday, and we had a blast splitting a variety of small plates and having a few drinks. The sauces in their dishes are so delicious. Scrumptious even. We had great service, and the dishes were well-paced. We sat on the back patio, which was nice, but next time will make a reservation for the dining room since the calm, intimate vibes in there are great.

They had 2 wait staff working when we went and both greeted us immediately and seated us inside. Their air conditioning was broken and awaiting repair and they had signs throughout explaining that. It was still cooler inside than out so we sat inside. I was curious what a butterfly lemonade was so I ordered one. It was good and quite refreshing with traditional lemonade at the bottom topped with a vibrant deep purple concoction on top. After I educated myself, I found that the deep purple concoction is steeped tea made from butterfly pea flowers. We started with some egg rolls - fried with ground pork and vegetables and served with sweet and sour sauce. The sauce was great! I normally pass as most of them have a cloyingly sweet flavor that I don't like but theirs had a really good balance of flavors amd not too sweet. The egg rolls were flavorful enough to stand on their own though and yes, delivered piping hot to the table. I had the drunken noodles with beef at medium spicy level. At first bite, I was immediately able to taste the spicy level I chose. A great sign. Then I sniffed and started sweating. Another great sign of good spice level. My husband ordered the yellow curry with tofu and medium spice level as well. At first he said it could be hotter but then midway through he decided it was more of a build up and thought the level was actually perfect. Serving size was great. You can definitely get another meal out of an order! We took the rest of our food home. I cannot wait to eat my leftovers today. What a great spot for a delicious, quick dinner!

I get that this is a Thai restaurant, not Chinese (though it's more Chinese than I am), but Meyou might consider such a policy. I would have benefited from it yesterday. I visited on a Wednesday evening with members of a running group. There were umpteen of us. If we'd been given a single egg roll appetizer, we would have been forced to cut it in tiny pieces and share. I would have been willing to do that, because I'm a confirmed, avowed savage. My reputation precedes me. Arguably, they should give you one free appetizer for every six members of your party. But I digress. Now, where was I? Ah yes, Meyou. I'd describe this place as a somewhat Americanized version of Thai food, based on what little I know from having recently visited Bangkok and eaten in roughly 40 or 50 restaurants, food stalls and what have you over the course of a few days, i.e. not a whole lot. You can get pad thai and various other soups, noodles and curries, along with fried rice, egg rolls, crab rangoon and chicken wings. It's got a little something for everyone. Do they charge you $0.25 for extra soy sauce? Can you call up and try to harangue them into giving you a free order of crab rangoon by claiming that they shorted you the last time you were there, knowing good and well they can count better than you? I'm not sure. I might try that on my next visit and report back. This time, I went with something called Pad See Ew, which wasn't nearly as gross as its name suggests. In fact, it was good. Its description on the menu, with broccoli, eggs and soy sauce, called to mind various things I might order from a Chinese takeout--which is what I tend to look for in a menu item. As a noodle dish, I figured the overall flavor profile might not be different from a lo mein lunch special I used to get decades ago, that I still fondly reminisce about on a weekly basis. I wasn't that far off from the mark. They let you choose the spice level, ranging from mild to hot. I usually get hot in most places, but I'm hesitant to do that at Asian restaurants, because they might have access to peppers that are technically considered research chemicals, like Temu Ozempic, and therefore not subject to FDA approval. There were a few girls there, and I didn't want to run the risk of my throat starting to close up. I'd have to find a new run group. Medium turned out to be just right for me, but maybe too spicy if you're expecting something along the lines of a buffalo wing. Even the mild, apparently, has a bit of a kick to it. The noodles were nice and slippery and cooked a touch beyond al dente, right in that Goldilocks zone between undercooked and mush. The heat, and the complexity provided by whatever they use to season this, helped offset the underlying sweetness. You get your choice of meat. No Diddy. I went with pork, natch, with apologies to the Honorable Minister. The amount they give you is surprisingly generous, except that this dish will run you. I'm talking modern-day Chipotle prices. Maybe a dollar or two more. Yikes! But I'd argue that the quality justifies it. If I lived nearby, and I had the means, I'd stop by on occasion.

Upon entering, there is a sandwich board advertising drinks and seasonal specials, such as mango sticky rice. It seemed to be a two-person operation on the weeknight we went. You check in with the host, who appeared to be taking turns serving guests with one other woman. I believe they have happy hour from 4 pm-6 pm on weekdays. We had waters, and I ordered a piña colada while my beau ordered a strawberry lemonade margarita. My friend ordered some appetizers for our table: spring rolls and Thai wings. The spring rolls arrived neatly plated atop green lettuce with a very loose dipping sauce, while the wings arrived perfectly crispy and hot with a thicker sauce that was slightly spicy. On the table, they had plenty of red chili flakes as well as a spicy sauce that we added to our wing sauce for more spice. I would say the chicken wings needed a pinch of sea salt. I ordered the Thai Fried Rice with chicken, my friend ordered Thai Fried Rice with shrimp (a pro--they remove the shells from the tails), and my beau ordered Spicy Kee Mao Noodles with beef. Every dish was hot, fragrant, colorful, and delicious. The meat was tender in every dish, with pops of color from bell peppers. However, service was very slow. At first, there was hardly anyone there, and then tables filled up quickly. Even before then, we had to flag a server down for various things: napkins, etc. My friend ordered some food to go for her son, and it did not come with utensils or napkins, so she had to ask for some. We also had to flag a server down just to get our bill. Once paid, on the way out, I saw the biggest roach I have ever seen. It was lying on its back, dead but still. I'm so glad I saw it after and not before dinner because otherwise, I would not have dined there. Based on parts of my experience, I am doubtful about returning.
