Green China has long been my "go to" for Chinese food. I've always found the portions to be generous, the food to be tasty, hot upon arrival, and I've always been pleased. Until now. I ordered my usual, Shrimp with Chinese vegetables. Vegetables. Plural. I received shrimp and huge pieces of celery along with a few strips of carrot. Where is the broccoli? Where is the baby corn? Where is the onion? It's just not at all what I'm used to nor what I was expecting. Additionally, the food wasn't even hot. I also think it's time they stop referring to the Crab Rangoon as anything crab related, and instead should call them what they really are, namely Cream Cheese Rangoon. I will give them four stars because the food is good. The atmosphere is not really something that factors in because rarely does anyone sit down and eat. You either order it to go or have it delivered. The service is usually good although they're not the most friendly folks. They have Springfield Missouri style cashew chicken and it's pretty close, although it's not identical. Green China is definitely one of our go to Chinese places in the area. read more

Green China is everything what I expected...it's very much like China King on the IL side, like they are all owned by the same group or something. Nothing wrong with that, of course, because I dig China King when I'm craving non-buffet Chinese food. But what really drew my attention towards Green China was when a local news channel polled everyone on their Facebook page where the best Chinese was. For whatever reason, Green China in St. Peters got the most votes. I would've went out there but the St. Charles location was closest to me. Everyone seemed to rave bigtime about the crab rangoon. That was when I knew I had to make it over there! Like I said, Green China might as well be a sister company to China King. It's got the same layout, decor, and yeah, everything. Decent portions, soda fountain, people in the back yelling in Mandarin...you got it. I always get the Shrimp Lo Mein when I go to China King, though their other dishes are always great. But this is where the two places differ: it seems that Green China really puts a lot of sweet creamy crab goodness inside each fried wrapper. A lot more than what China King does, or any other place! Delivery at Courtyard Earth City-I was pleasantly surprised! Hot sour soup was spicy and had lots of veggies and pork. Spicy beef had tender sizable chunks combined with perfectly crunchy broccoli, onions and other veggies in a delicious brown gravy. The shrimp lo mein had plenty of shrimp and not to oily. I recently visited Green China one evening after work on the advice of a friend and I have to admit that they didn't steer me wrong. Green China is a small family owned Chinese restaurant located in a small strip mall. The inside is small and the focus seemed to be on carry out however there are still about 6-8 tables, available should you choose to dine in. Service here is friendly and the prices are reasonable, especially for lunch where you can get a meal for less than six bucks! The highlight of the menu is the Springfield Cashew Chicken which is probably some of the better I have had, the rice is good and the crab Rangoon is also pretty tasty. Overall Green China isn't the type of place you would take a date, however it's a great place for a cheap and quick meal. read more

When they get any part of your order wrong they refuse to credit the entire order. How can you eat sweet and sour sauce with no rice? You spend $42 and they offer a $12 credit. We originally just asked for a replacement and they refused until the end. I do not want food that's maybe fainted because they are angry. Never again. read more

Ever since they had to go, the place has not been up to the high standards that were set. Prices went up.. not as friendly staff, and the food quality.. is a hit and miss. Today we had ordered food for 5. They didn't get some of the orders right. And they completely forgot one. Upon calling and asking about what could be done about it, they acted like they needed to do nothing. It is restaurant manager common sense to make it right. Sadly this isn't the first time. It's just not the same. The food flavor is still good. When they can make the correct stuff. I would tell people to go there. Now I dont. Tried Green China and though it wasn't any different than food I've had other places, this good review is based on service, price, and quantity. I chose it after searching here on Yelp and I wanted more authentic looking Chinese food and not anything artisan like Panda Express. I came during lunch hours and was the only one there which kind of turned me off cause to me if a place is busy it must be good. Staff were friendly and I saw they had a lunch special and instead of getting my go to "combination fried rice" I got the General Tso Chicken. It tasted no different than what I've had in the past. It was spicy and you go quite a bit for the price. Came with 4 pieces of broccoli and fried rice. It also came with 2 crab wontons. These were the best I have ever had. NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS IN 3 YEARS! Tonight we ordered dinner. The hot and sour soup tasted like cat pee (no pun intended) and the sesame chicken was WAY overcooked! Again.....NEVER had a problem. We called to give them a heads up and asked for a manager. The female? that answered the phone said she was the manager but wouldn't shut her lips long enough to listen to what we had to say. She continually talked over me telling me "you call all time and complain! You no order no more" and hung up? What? Sorry, NEVER CALLED TO COMPLAIN BEFORE! Called back and apparently got the owner who wanted to argue that he had eaten exactly the same thing we ordered and he didn't think there was anything wrong? He asked several times 'what wrong?' but as before with 'the manager ' wouldn't shut his mouth long enough to hear what we were saying. We weren't looking for a free meal or anything. We just wanted to let them know the food wasn't good compared to the several times we have ordered. To be hung up on by the so called manager and then the owner was completely unacceptable!
