Just West of Stone on the South side of River Rd

Had lunch at Asian 1 Buffet on River. Their weekend buffet has a good selection, including sushi and Mongolian BBQ. I'd say the quality is good to very good. Service is attentive, clearing plates, filling drinks, etc. The buffet lines are kept freshly stocked and very clean. The Mongolian BBQ guy has his own separate tip jar, but the plate I got was very good. You have to ask for the Senior discount (10%). The place can get a bit noisy and crowded during busy times. It's a good place to stop on the way to Sam's Club.

As always, food was great. Admittedly I went for the oysters, I'm an East Coaster that just moved back to Arizona from Maine last year and I love oysters. After taking down 3 dozen and some crab legs I tapped out. Great Oysters at an extremely clean buffet is unheard of. Service was great, table was always cleaned and drinks refilled quickly. We visit every time we go to Tucson.

We love a good buffet. My husband had seen this place advertised and we decided to give it a try for their lunch buffet. We were impressed with the variety and amount of food available for a lunch buffet. Several islands of food, plus bbq and sushi stations. They had a good variety of foods to choose from. Some fried, some not fried, several appetizer type items, salads, desserts, some with rice or lo mein, some soups. It all seemed to be fresh and either hot or cold, depending on the item. We had a server who refilled our waters throughout and removed our used plates. There was plenty of seating and the restaurant was light and cheery. We enjoyed our dining experience. The cost was definitely reasonable as well.

I've been to Asian One Buffet twice now, and both visits have been very positive experiences. Honestly, I'm just happy to finally have a decent Asian buffet option in Tucson--after living here all my life, I've seen so many Chinese buffets come and go. Some of the dishes really surprised me with how good they were. The braised pig trotters were a unique find, and while I can't eat too much of it, it's something you rarely see in Tucson. My personal favorites so far are the salt and pepper prawns, and the Cajun-style seafood boil with mussels, shrimp, crawfish, and corn. The sushi was also a highlight--fresh tasting and better than I expected for a buffet. The restaurant itself was very clean, and for me, it's a great place to go when I'm craving a wide range of Asian dishes, from comforting classics to items you don't usually find at other buffets. I'm giving this place five stars based on the value for the price and what's available here in Tucson. I wouldn't rate it the same way against the huge buffets in Las Vegas, but judged on its own and for our city, Asian One truly deserves it.

This space was once a Chinese buffet but that disappeared some years ago along with -19. So happy to see it back as a Chinese buffet again. They have cleaned and brightened up the interior with multiple serving stations and plenty of food. Other reviewers have pics of all the options. Wifey was pretty happy with it. Sure, there were hits and misses but I think overall it's a hit. We were happy. I really like the chicken wings and was glad to get some shortly after they opened while they were fresh. After folks had worked down the pile there were only 3 drumletts left and dried out and it didn't get refreshed! I had some of the steamed catfish which was pretty good . I found some tartar sauce for it over by the salads. Fried zucchini was good as was the egg fu young. Hot and sour soup was descent. I got the Mongolian bbq with the lo mein sauce but I won't do that one again. Lunch didn't have all the big seafood, which was fine, but I would have liked a little salmon sushi instead of all the big California rolls they were making. Desserts were a little light but I did like the apple turnover I had which was fresh and not super sweet. The ice cream is packaged in single servings so you can just pick your flavor . Reasonably priced lunch plus we get the 10% senior discount.

Oh dear gawd where to begin. This was one of the worst Chinese buffets I have ever experienced. The place is very clean, but it's also very new, service was fine, and the selection was plentiful. There is also a Mongolian BBQ and sushi station. We were there on a Sunday morning right at opening, and were seated quickly, and brought our drinks. That's where the good ended, the food is where the bad began. Everything I tried was just so salty, and I mean salty. My blood pressure rose with each bite. Several of the chicken dishes were already dry, and like I said it was right as they opened. I cannot recommend this restaurant, as nice as the place was and as friendly as the employees were, the food is just not good.

This is a Chinese buffet somewhat on steroids. I say this because it has Everything! Every thing! From Lo Mein and orange chicken to Mongolian BBQ to sushi. I'm not sure you'd want something they don't have. There's pizza, fish, buns name it. The place is pretty huge so no waiting. At least not today. We went for lunch. And while it was busy there wasn't a wait. We were seated quickly. The place looks very clean. The staff is attentive. Our glasses were always full and used plates went away quickly. Fresh food constantly being put out. It all Looked appetizing. Mind you I don't normally even like buffets, generally speaking. I tried several dishes and they were all tasty. Certainly filled that want. If you still have room or have a sweet tooth. They have cookies, cake, pudding, jello, ice cream in cups. No soft serve. As stated earlier. If you want if they probably have it. Pepsi products, lemonade for drinks an additional charge not included in buffet price. But that's ok. I don't go to buffets of any kind often. But this one I would consider coming back to. They are doing it right. Reasonably priced. They have Children's prices and a senior discount. Only open since March I hope it's around for a long time.

Stop by at this newly open asian buffet. Nice, clean & spacious place. Very good service. Reasonable price. Delicious & more than enough variety of food to eat. For sure will come back again.

Have you seen the new Asian buffet on river road? As far as buffets go... it is very fresh and clean with rows and rows of variety to please everyone. The staff kept the foods fresh and hot, including a sushi station. I wasn't impressed by the deserts, but that's just me. The prices are fair and the quality is what you would expect. Not quite five stars but still pretty decent.

I'm just going ahead and doing this right now!!! Writing my review in the restaurant. I'm going with it. Regardless of whether I like it or not, there is a lot of variety and they are constantly putting out new food so it doesn't sit. They have chicken feet and sushi, the sushi is ok and I never eat chicken feet. There are a ton of Asians eating here which is always a good sign. I loved my stir fry and the peel and eat shrimp. The staff is courteous and quick to take your empty plate. So in my humble opinion it's about as good as it gets for an Asian buffet. I will be back because it's clean quick and easy. I've spent a lot of time all over Asia and this place is good.

Wow I was super impressed on how open and clean this restaurant was. The decorations are beautiful and CLEAN. The waiter and waitress are attentive. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. There is so much to choose from. The dessert is of course my favorite. They have a chocolate/coffee cake that's was mouthwatering. Great hours. Open late. And still amazing service. I do recommend if you are a senior citizen and want that discount tell them when you get seated. (no I am not a senior citizen) I do recommend this place. Did I mention they have sushi rolls as well.

For the price and the type of restaurant, it's exactly what you'd expect. For $14.99 at lunch and $18.99 at dinner, you get all you can eat Chinese food. Some of the hot food was okay, but mostly subpar. What really disappointed me was the seafood. It looked like it had been sitting for a while, but I had to try it out at least once. The sashimi was slimey, and the roll had a crust from sitting out so long. Afterwards, I did not feel too good. I would say the only things I enjoyed were the sausage, cheese rangoons, and the speedy service.

    Perfect ribs and kielbasa.

This girl loves a buffet. So many options with no commitment. Try something new and walk away if you're not liking it. We tried Asian 1 on Saturday around noon. The per person cost is $14 during lunch hours. Drinks are $3 per person. The food was prepared well, fresh and delicious. The only area that lacked, in my humble opinion, was the desserts. With costs skyrocketing, this restaurant provides a value that I don't see anymore. My favorite dish was the BBQ pork. The meat is pre cut into bite sizes making it easy to eat. My picky Manfolk even liked it. That's a biggie. Staff is fine and attentive even on a busy weekend day. Give them a try!

Lots of seafood here. Seafood heaven.

I wanted to update my review after several years and several great meals at Obon. They have really…read moreupped their game these last couple of years (I'm guessing thanks to their new head chef). In my prior review, I complained about a lack of consistency in their meals. Not anymore! I can happily say that my meals have been consistently good. They've updated their menu many times since my last review - this is for the better. While they still have some of their classics like their ramen (the vegan ramen is actually delicious and with umami flavor), they've added other fun things like the braised short rib donburi. (Which they recently had a special where the donburi was made with udon noodles instead of rice - please make this a permanent menu item!!) I love their yuzu yellowtail sashimi dish. To be honest, I would argue Obon has some of the best sushi in Tucson. Their cocktails have also gotten much better. Before, I felt like many of them were pretty strange creations. Now, their drinks are still unique but thoughtfully made - not full of sugars, candy, etc. I look forward to having a cocktail at Obon now. The interior/exterior of the restaurant has not changed; I do not mind this. The ambiance has always felt right. If there was one minor thing I'd change, it would be so that when you sit at the sushi bar, you could actually see the sushi being made (it's hard to explain the seating at the bar but basically the view of the sushi chefs at work is sorta blocked by the unused sushi itself). But this is incredibly minor and not at all an issue causing a lesser rating. As you can see, I have come to really love Obon. I come here semi-regularly, both on dates and with friends, so I felt it was only just to update my previous critiques. If it's been a while since you last tried Obon, definitely give it another go. They are doing some good work here, clearly listening to customers and making improvements.

We began with ordering edemame and yellow tail nigiri to start. It was from the happy hour menu which was a great start to our meal. I also got their cocktail of the day, which was pretty refreshing. Keep in mind that HH is good until 6pm. We also ordered salmon roll, teriyaki noodles with either white rice and 2 buns to share. It was good enough for two people. Overall, food tasted great. Very fresh.
