Just an average casino buffet. Nothing really stood out as bad or good. For 3 adults, 2 seniors, and 2 kids w/ 15% gratuity it was ~$330. Service was average at best. She was absolutely polite and always wore a smile, but hard to track down for refills. I would offer some advice and make your cups bigger to reduce refill requirements. Food was OK. Salty for some items, stale on a few (expected). But we came here for Crab Legs. Now I thought I was the only one but I could NOT for the life of me, get a Clean Break on the crab legs. The meat stuck to the legs 90% of the time. It was frustrating by the 4th trip that I gave up. The table next to us asked for the chef to complain. I the felt that might have been a little much, but we all shared the same sentiment. I do love the sugar free dessert items for my father who is diabetic. So that's a nice touch. All in all, we'll probably be back again because it's a good deal. We just hope that the crab legs are a little bit better next time. Also salmon Nigiri was lacking. They're quick to remove plates and refill drinks. The food Selection is good, and the quality is about what you expect for a buffet. We decided to give the Festa Buffet at Casino Del Sol a try. The first time we went, food was good, but not great. I liked the Asian selection best, hubby liked the meat and Mexican section. The price is very high, given the food options. $30 per person. The staff is very friendly and clear plates quickly, refill drinks as needed. The salad bar portion has quite a few selections and seems very fresh. The dessert section I think is lacking. The pies have a heavy crust and not much of a selection. The soft serve ice cream is okay and there is Cherries Jubilee and cobbler that's decent. The second time we went was only because I had a BOGO which made the price okay. The food was better than before with more of a selection. My guess, because there was the gem show in the main ballroom. Usually casino buffets are busy but this one is not. IMHO, the price is too high for a typical buffet. They need to consider lowering the price. I was in the casino when they were offering the Seafood Buffet for $49! I took a peak at the offerings and there is no way it was worth that. Only seafood was small snow crab legs and shrimp. A good price for that one would be $30 and maybe $20 for the regular International Buffet. The dining room was very nice and clean with comfortable chairs and booths. Since this is in a casino, where people do gamble and may lose money, they ought to lower the price if they want people to come in. More people, better turnaround with food, fresher and would make more money with volume. Just my opinion, but I have yet to see that dining room to have more than half filled (mostly about 1/3). read more

We have been to this buffet a few different times with just my husband and I. It is good, I like the variety. The Asian food is probably my favorite, but there is a pasta bar with build your own pasta option, the carving station always has good offerings, a soup and salad bar and a really nice dessert bar. We have even taken a group of 17 for the seafood buffet, and we all filled up on crab legs, and the server assigned to us did a really good job keeping our drinks full and dishes cleared. This is one of the worst places I've ever had the displeasure of attempting to eat at. My three associates and I immediately regretted paying the high 45 dollar for the seafood buffet entry fee after a single lap. I could feel the food poisoning setting in as I was eating the crab legs, oysters and shrimp. I'm confident the buffet does not know what salt is. The only enjoyable dish I had was the green beans. Dessert was on par with the entrees, I enjoyed the churros and honestly would have eaten 45 dollars worth of churros instead of suffering through this dining experience. Most of the other desserts tasted much like the fridge it came from with hints of beans and pork in the cookies and cake. This is one of the worst buffet restaurants I've ever tried in my entire life. The food is definitely not worth the price because of the limited option and poor quality of food. Not to mention, the service is really bad. Employees doesn't seem to care much about their customers and was even having petty arguments in the dining area. One was even slamming plates and stuff while they're bussing. In our experience, we got seated in a table and wasn't handed utensils until we asked for it and after the fact that we've already filled up our plates with food. Then, during the course of our stay, no one even bothered to take the dirty plates as it continues to pile up. The worst part is - it wasn't even busy during the time we're dining. I made my first visit to the Festa Buffet on Friday. The lunch buffet was $25. Unfortunately the food and the service was disappointing. The restaurant had few guests, and there were very few beverage servers. It took a lengthy time to get our first beverages and even longer to get a refill. There was a good selection of food but much of it was not good. The ribs were dry, tough, and cold. Most of the meats were cold. The Chinese food was the best choice but most of it was cold as well. There was a hamburger station, but it took over 20 minutes to have a burger cooked. This was our first visit since the pandemic, and we will probably not be back. read more

Having been to Vegas many times I guess I am used to casinos having grand buffets with tons of food options. While the Casino del Sol Festa Buffet has it's charm it doesn't really measure up to typical casino buffets. I was expecting the place to be super busy on Saturday evening and it was so empty. Very few tables had customers. And the food, while tasty, was mediocre at best. There was nothing which really stood out or had a "wow" factor. It was food you could pretty much find in any other restaurants. The one saving grace was the dessert station. I absolutely love those little cups filled with flan or custard. They also had amazing bananas foster. But when we go back to the casino we will probably head to one of the other restaurants. read more

Wow, this time was such a disappointment . The Alfredo was runny, the 1st steak was paper thin and they had no T-bone this time. There rest of the food looked like it had been sitting out for a long time and just looked old. I figured, ok the 1st steak was thin and good. I'll take another one. Hmm very well done. Please give me another Medium. 3rd one came out Medium well. When the apple pie is the best thing, not spending another $25 a person for a long time. Again it's a buffet stay, but not bad at all. We also have the pasta for the pasta station and it was pretty damn good as well. I had some Chinese food and the honey chicken was fantastic. Our server was on point in there for us all night as well. 5-16-19 Steak Night getting better The pasta station as well as the Chinese food with very very good. The service on both were so friendly as well as our server. For steak night, however my state came out very rare with some blood on it and had to send it back to be cooked a little longer. The place is very well maintained. Surprisingly empty so it was nice to serve my plate w/o having to rush for the next person. Now, for it being a buffet they don't have a giant selection. A late review. After deciding not to drive to Pheonix , I took my immediate family here for their "thanksgiving dinner , " and it was mediocre at best. At 55.00 a person , I really expected at least this time ( previously visited) a better menu and fresher food. The prime rib for example was rubbery and tasted old. Desert options minimal. I have been to a lot of buffets, but this one is not the best experience so far. Very little selection on food. And the staff is not attentive nor friendly. The place is not big compared to other places I have been. Went to the Thursday Seafood Buffet - Absolutely Horrible!!!! Very disappointed! Service was very poor, and food was very disappointing. We entertained about 12 people from Hong Kong during the Gem Show who love seafood. They complained it was inedible! I tried the Coconut Shrimp which had a hard shell on it that it was hard to eat! The Prime Rib was served so Rare that it was still cold in the middle. The only plus was that the staff at that station grilled it for me as well as some of the Hong Kong People. For the price point, the food is mediocre. Unless you're using some casino credit or a BOGO, special offer... I wouldn't recommend this place. The selection is good but the food is just average. Their staff is very friendly and attentive but the quality of the food and flavor seems to miss the mark. Sunday brunch offers bottomless mimosas which wasn't advertised to us upon arrival. Keep this in mind as is can help justify the $30 per person price tag. I lost my husband in April, first thanksgiving without any family. Our ex-roommate came in for dinner, as he's also alone this year. The food was AMAZING! I'm so incredibly grateful for the staff who worked today! It's hard to be alone on the holidays and having somewhere with such wonderful food and great staff takes the sting right out. while driving thru tucson, decided to try the buffet. we were allowed to browse before paying. when passing the area immediately next to the carving station, the young man behind the counter hacked up his mucous and spit it into the napkin he was holding. wow! what a first impression. my wife told him that was extremely gross and he apologized with a smile. we turned around and walked out. on the way out we told the lady at the casb registet who said she would tell the manager but would not call her for us. she said she would talk to the young man. what is she going to tell him? I will start by saying, I read reviews about the Thursday night Seafood Buffet in advance and was a little hesitant to go at first BUT my hubby loves seafood so we gave it a try. SO glad I ignored the negative reviews which seem super off the mark. We have been to the other casino buffets in Tucson, and this one FAR exceeded our expectations. First of all - you WILL get what you pay for. Yes it is $28 per person BUT if you are over 50 or have a club card you get at least 15% off which brought our bill down to roughly 22 per person plus tax. Totally worth it. The service was REALLY good, they were very attentive in keeping our plates cleared, drinks filled up and just being nice and friendly. The food was off the charts (for Tucson in particular) -- high quality, not anywhere near the 'golden corral' quality this town is used to. The dessert area was FANTASTIC... it was all homemade and they had TONS of stuff to choose from - Bananas Foster, Bread Pudding, Cobbler, Ice Cream, Cake Pops (this was my favorite), Cookies, Cakes, Pies.... As for the seafood - HOT and COLD Crab Legs... yes they are snow, BUT they are big and with TONS of meat. They also had oysters, mussels, cold shrimp (big ones with just the tail on so NOT a lot of work), scallops, fried shrimp (the BIGGER ones, not those little tiny ones), ceviche, and other seafood dishes including a couple choices of fish. The one thing their website advertises that they did not have was the crawfish or crab claws. They also had a nice selection of sushi to choose from as well. In addition to the dessert and seafood - they had a salad area, soups, a carving station and pizza area (really good pizzas, five or six different choices) and a section with some good chinese food that included sweet and sour shrimp. We will definitely come back here and are glad that we ignored some of these negative reviews... not sure what these people were expecting but this is pretty damn good for Tucson. read more

Luckily, I started with some sushi and grabbed chopsticks since they were the only thing in sight. Sushi was okay so went back for main course. Absolutely no service and no silverware or napkins anywhere in sight. I wasn't the only one looking either. Literally no napkins or silverware anywhere, let alone a staff member. I finally went to find someone and they dropped off at the table without a word spoken. Food was pretty sparse but I did find some decent shrimp "scampi" so that was nice. Place was pretty empty so service was extra disappointing. The staff members who were working were clearly not happy to be there, dismissive and kind of rude. FESTA - went for the lunch buffet. At $15 a person, this may seem like a great deal BUT the quality of food is underwhelming. Unfortunately, all the food looked old. And when I tasted my selections, I confirmed that they were old. The sushi rice used for the sushi was dry. You shouldn't be serving that anymore. The eggrolls were overfried and oily but the insides were mushy. The beef and broccoli JUST tasted of peanut oil. Even the soft serve ice cream was watery. The only good thing about this buffet was the chicken soup and the pizza. The staff were amazing though, and their attentive service made this dismal festa experience a tad bit better. Just know that this buffet is nothing like the ones you go to in Vegas. It's definitely a budget buffet with budget offerings dressed up to look fancy and more than it's actually worth. Ambiance and place is always clean/comfortable. We used to get a 10% discount when presenting our Del Sol players club, no longer the case since emerging out from the pandemic. It had been around two years since my bride and I had dinner there as it is our go to before an evening concert at AVA or gaming fun. There were about 30 people in front of me waiting to get in at 6pm on a Thursday and it took me 15 minutes. Service (1/5): I had to ask for silverware from someone walking around. Then my server asked me for a drink. Once she gave me it, I never had any one come to my table again. No check up, no clearing of plates and no refills. Yet it seemed like everyone around me was getting service. Food (2/5): there was a Chinese station with bland salty food. Sushi that didn't taste very fresh or special. Ribs and chicken that was not flavorful. The only good parts were the seafood especially the crab legs or the deserts. There was a delicious chocolate peanut butter cake. Also it was advertised as having smoked salmon but I could not find any. Overall I don't know that I would return unless I was really craving the seafood. My husband ended up getting sick, which I'm sure was from the crab legs, it looks like they may have been in the freezer a little too long.
