I've visited this restaurant several times, and unfortunately, each time, I've witnessed them yelling at customers. This time, it happened to me. We were a large group, and an extra table was wiped down to join with ours. After it was cleaned, I thought I'd be helpful and move it myself, but I was immediately yelled at to stop. The employee raised her voice loud enough to draw attention, making the situation uncomfortable for everyone. Afterward, she explained the table couldn't be pushed because it might get unscrewed, which I understand--but there was no need to shout. Later, while waiting for our food, my kids were giggling and having fun, as kids do, and she came over to tell them to quiet down, even though she had just yelled at me earlier. My kids weren't even close to being as loud as she was. I really do like the food here, which is why I've kept coming back despite many awkward encounters like this. Each time I've visited, I've seen them being rude to customers for various reasons. Kids, in particular, don't seem welcome here. They used to have a sign stating they'd charge extra if kids made a mess or stood in the booths, but even without the sign, the attitude remains. Expect to be treated poorly if you come here, but I keep returning because the food is genuinely good. read more

Careful when eating there! I Just found a piece of wire for the 2nd time in my food (from their pot scrubber). I let the owner know the 1st time and they assured me they'd work to fix the problem. Since then, I make it a habit to look over my food before eating. So glad I did! What if my 5-yr old would have swallowed it! Great food, but they need find a safer way to clean your pans. My friend & I went here to eat it was unclean we were yelled at by owner at the front when we put a complaint in about the lemon grass soup which was was a bowl of water with rubber tasting chicken barely a milk base not heated up so we reordered the orange chicken pot stickers were cold she did not charge us but the way she treated us very rude this is not okay they need to correct the treatment and issues with this no customer service she said I don't wanna ever see you two back here again my intentions are not to go back this was crazy experience for our day read more

I do agree however if they need some serious customer service training. 1/28/20 Came across this restaurant thanks to the yelp app that I rely on with my nationwide job. I was craving a poké bowl but they didn't have this on their menu, but I was still glad to have some good food, so I ordered their lunch special which was 3 rolls for $13 which is a great deal. I had their miso soup and salad as well. I also, tried an octopus roll as I've never tried it before, and it was decent. If you're not a fan of raw food then don't order anything sashimi otherwise, they offer fresh and delcious sushi options. Would definitely recommend trying this place out. read more

I'm hoping a next visit will be better. This restaurant is higher rated than its counterpart in Lakeside, but judging by this visit alone, I can't see why. The setting is kinda sterile/utilitarian but that's really not a biggie if the food is there, but, alas, it wasn't. The seaweed was still icy in places when it arrived at the table. So I set it aside to eat later but by the time I got to my destination two hours later, it was a sodden mess, and any interest was gone. The calamari was ok. The breading thick but at least it wasn't greasy or so overcooked as to be tasteless and rubbery, but it was bland. The Black Dragon was good, I thought, but I'm not sure that it wasn't just relief that it wasn't *bad* and that's not really a good place to be in a meal. Our server tho was quite pleasant and good even when busy. The place was 3/4 full on a Sunday at 1:30 pm. Oh well. Again, hoping next time is better. Luckily for me, I saw what was next door .... It was unexpected to find a sushi restaurant in this small town. My expectations weren't very high, but I was really surprised with the quality of the food. All of the sushi that we ordered tasted very good. For dessert, they were out of fried ice cream, but the fried cheese cake was amazing. The staff was cordial, but I didn't exactly feel welcomed. We frequent The location in Lakeside often. We recently relocated to Taylor and decided to visit the Asian bistro there. The food was the same as the other location and was served hot, fresh and tasty. But the restaurant itself was dirty. The table, the chairs, the floor, the window sills as far as your eyes could travel there was dirt accumulation and was built up. We decided not to leave because we were famished after moving. I kept my hands folded in my lap and tried not to look at the floor below me so that I could enjoy my meal. We will not be returning due to the non-cleanliness of the restaurant. At this meal we ordered the teriyaki chicken and requested the teriyaki sauce on the side. We also requested a third meal to take with us for our son exactly the same. We asked them to ensure there was silverware in there since we had everything packed up. When the waiter came to the table he let us know that he had packed the silverware in there and everything is as it should be. We thanked him went up and paid our bill and drove back to our home. When my son opened up his teriyaki chicken everything was in order except he had no rice. So now a return trip back to the restaurant to secure the missing rice. Upon the return to the restaurant the owner approached us and asked us what the issue was. We said there was no rice and we needed the food reheated since it was now cold. They commented "we will give you rice but we will not reheat the meal, we do not do that here." I already knew that we would not return to this location because of how filthy the restaurant was so I wasn't going to argue the point further. We took the rice and they did actually provide two small containers which was nice. I haven't found any additional reviews on this location it looks relatively new so maybe someone else has been in there and looked around and seen similar. Or possibly they had a heavy traffic weekend and just hadn't had a chance to clean up. read more

Newer Racist staff Sat 6pm, came in with my daughter. Stood for ten minutes without any acknowledgement. Caucasian couple came in, immediately greeted by Asian staff and seated. Five minutes later another caucasian couple came in, again elderly woman greeted and acknowledged them by Asian staff. I asked the elderly Asian woman with short hair if she is aware we are standing here , rolls her eyes and gave us a side of attitude "I told you we will be with you in minute". We walked out after that, not wanting to offend her with our presence. I too am of Asian descent, being of mixed race my skin is light in the middle of winter , that browns nicely in the sun. Perhaps my lack if pale complexion offended her. Our business was good enough for them the past three years, with a change of staff apparently you have to be light skinned to get service here. I'm left having to explain to my 10year old why 4 white people got served while we were completely ignored. read more

Every time we try to give this place another chance, because we love Asian food and sushi, it is an extreme disappointment. Service is awful because the owner or manager picks and chooses who she likes and who she is going to treat like crap. She is also awful to her staff and talks about a specific employee to someone else and also right next to the person they are talking about. We saw that the person, that was being talked about and bullied, almost break down in tears. Bet they have a high turn over rate. We stood up to her about the way she treats them and she denied that it wasn't her??? What? We know her voice and face well. And she is the only older person that works there. Their food is also gross. We keep trying to get new things to see if anything is worth while. It's not. The only reason these people are in business is because they are the only Asian food place in town and the next one is at least a half hour away, in Show Low. Do I really need to say more? *side note: the large quantity of handwritten signs posted all over the entrance is beyond off putting. So I usually rave about this place but tonight, after quite some time, we decided to order out. So the food was still about a 4 star but the side we ordered of chow mein had a whole busted bottom on it which leaked all over, which I wasn't too thrilled about but the female whom worked the counter was a younger gal and was just so terribly rude, that I questioned giving that 20% tip. Don't get me wrong I usually tip 20 or more percent wherever I go but the lack of customer service when you walk into an establishment has to be welcoming at the least. This restaurant used to be amazing but in the last year quality has taken a dive. Tonight I ordered a salmon poke bowl (which I've ordered several times before) and the spicy crab meat was missing. When I called to have it fixed I had 3 different staff get on the phone and argue aggressively that the meal did not include that and when I tried to point out that the menu description of the dish literally states it as part of the dish I was yelled at and hung up on. Love that we have this here in our small town. I definitely have my favorites on the menu but you can feel fairly safe ordering anything.

We ordered 2 orange chickens, 1 general tso and 2 order of egg rolls. Those 3 meals are suppose to get white rice- mind you it is a 15 minute drive. We call and speak to a LAREAH General Manager, not only was she unpleasant and did not let us speak. She accused us of having the rice for any of the meals and the sweet chili sauce, there is no reason for us to lie for us not getting rice also it's about $65 for just those minimal things. On the phone we let her know that we live far and we aren't going to be coming back down- we request that to make it right that she take off the 2 orders of egg rolls. While her reply was no sorry, I'll only credit you $4 or you can come get the rice. During the call she argued with us claiming we had the rice and we got frustrated because as the customer you would think that because we are regulars that it would be a simple as- "oh I'm so sorry ma'am let me see how I can make this right for you." But none of this has happened, she argued and accused us, and hung up the phone 2 different times we called. I simply do not understand how someone can treat a customer so rudely, I know customers are sometimes not always right! This makes me utterly upset and makes me result to social media and to the BBB. I tried this restaurant again today, and will not be going back. The wait was very long, received my sushi, and when it did come my order was completely wrong. I ordered salmon sashimi, and I got salmon sushi. I figured that was an easy enough mistake to make at that point and ate it anyway but I also ordered a spicy Scallop roll and got some sort of minced, horrible, hot Honey thick paste inside the seaweed with no Scallop to be found. When I told my waiter about the whole situation with the Scallop roll he said that's the way we make it. We'll, if that's the way they make it they don't have a clue as to how to make it correctly. Hopefully and somehow they learn from all these poor reviews and will try to change their ways and have a quality restaurant on the mountain where they have few competitors. My family and I decided to celebrate my birthday dinner at this restaurant. We started off by having tempura shrimp and veggies and the appetizer of seared tuna slices. It was incredibly delicious. Then we began ordering eight different sushi rolls and our all time favorite was the volcano roll. Every sushi roll was excelente! For desert, Maggie, the sweetest server brought me a Taramassu which was outstanding. I wanted to love this restaurant but the owner/manager is a horrible and rude person. I don't even want to give her one star but I have to. The food is way over priced for the small portions and the owner/manager is an evil lunatic. She constantly yells at customers for taking extra sets of utensils or fortune cookies when there is a sign on the cookies that says take them. She singled out a family and yelled at them in the restaurant for taking new utensils because their kid dropped the first set. I used to place take out orders through Door Dash as a regular customer and when I came in for my order she yelled at me and said she don't like Door Dash, they steal her cookies. I had a $120 order and I was not Door Dash but she yelled at me anyway. She is the rudest restaurant manager I have ever encountered. Please fire her and hire a competent restaurant manager, this woman you have now has anger management issues.
