Usually you have a tendency to take for granted local restaurants since your options are few in a small town with local fare but you would be doing yourself an injustice with Casa Ramos. One reason it's a favorite of ours is their great menu. It has a variety of your must have Mexican entrees including Fajitas, beef or chicken or both, Quesadillas all ways, and many other of your south of the border treats. My all time pick is Green Chili Relliano, yours might be the ludicrous Enchiladas or flavorful Tacos chuck full with your mouth watering ingredients. Whatever your choice is, Casa Ramos has it! Our wait staff was extremely attentive with drinks and the complimentary chips and salsa while seeing to all ourneeds. We were seated in a comfortable booth but they have ample tables for large groups. In small town Heber/Overgaard you get big city dining with reasonable prices at Casa Ramos, try it! read more

While the ambiance successfully transported me to Mexico - a truly delightful aspect of the experience - I unfortunately had a less-than-positive encounter with the salsa. It possessed an unfortunately stale flavor, which was quite disappointing it tasted old. I can say I have never tasted old salsa tell today We brought this to the attention of our server; however, we felt our concerns weren't fully addressed, he said oh ok that weird. The enchiladas were enjoyable, although not exceptional. They were certainly good, but I feel there's room for improvement to reach a truly "great" level. Overall, the atmosphere was the highlight of our visit, creating the authentic Mexican experience we seek in a restaurant. However, the issue with the salsa, and the less-than-satisfactory response, leaves me with mixed feelings about our visit. I hope you'll consider this feedback as an opportunity for improvement. read more

On the way home from a weekend fishing trip in the White Mountains, I was in the mood for Mexican food and I wanted to try a new place (new to me) and Casa Ramos was it. The restaurant looks like it was converted from a 1950's lodge or old hotel on the outside. Really big inside...tons of booth seating available. We were greeted quickly and had our drinks within 5min along with the chips and salsa. Their salsa was really good! I went with a bean burrito, green enchilada style. My friend got the chicken tacos and he loved them. My dish was good, the beans were perfect! It also came with what I thought was a garnish of lettuce....you know, typical for Mexican cuisine with beans and rice. It was actually coleslaw....i tried it, wasn't a fan. Overall, on a scale of 1 to 10, it was good, I left full and satisfied, but I'll look for a new place to eat (and maybe BBQ) next time I'm in Heber. read more

Absolute horrible experience!!! my wife and I ordered three cheese enchiladas and split it. it was average at best. Actually it was well below average but here's the kicker. I ordered a margarita and the first sip I took I thought I ordered lemonade. I waited a little bit later after I had some chips took another sip. Same thing terrible margarita told the waiter we didn't want it because it tasted terrible and they left it on the bill and argued with us as we tried to have it removed from the bill and her quote was "You drank some of it so we can't take it back" so the question you have to ask is if you are ever to return anything how do you know it's good or bad unless you taste it??!! read more

After a long drive from California heading toward Pinetop AZ, my cousin called me to tell me I needed to give this place a try. So, once I arrived I pulled into the parking lot and strolled in with my family. This place gives off a "hole in the wall" vibe, with no frills. We walked in and were seated promptly. A lot of people were here so we thought that was a good sign. We were given two baskets of chips and two bowls of salsa. Our drink orders were taken, and we started right away on the chips and salsa. The chips and salsa always make the first impression with me, so if they start bad, I know the food will suck. The chips and salsa passed the test. No complaints. We perused the menu and your typical items were in on the menu. We did see at the bottom of a page that the first bowl of chips was on the house. Subsequent refills were $1 a pop. What the hell? Eh, ok whatever. We looked on the menu to see if queso was an option. The only thing they had was queso with meat inside. We asked the waitress if just queso by itself was an option, to which she replied "no, we don't have anything like nacho cheese." She gave us a weird look like the request was far fetched. We told her that we were from Texas, so that was why we asked. She gave a condescending smirk, and walked off. The wife and I were still undecided of what we wanted. The waitress came back and we ordered fajitas for dos. Beef and chicken. The entree on the menu specifically listed 6 tortillas. No more, unless you want to pay for extras. Again, what the hell? Eh, ok. In good time the fajitas came. We heard them coming from the kitchen all the way to us just a sizzling and rolling smoke. A good sign. They were placed in front of us with the fixin's to accompany them. Beans, rice, guacamole, and sour cream. All of it looked yummy, minus the brown guacamole. We got right to making our fajita tacos to our liking. The beef was leaving a weird orange stain on the tortilla, to which I realized was the seasoning on the fajitas. Strange.. ok... Took the first bite, and was instantly turned off. The fajitas were seasoned with taco meat. What the hell? What kind of place is this? I've never seen fajitas seasoned with taco meat. I finished the first taco, and threw in the towel. I at the beans, rice, and my two other tortillas, with no complaints there. I really wanted to give this place a good review. I am usually a "give me Tex-mex, or give me death," kinda guy, but I was going out of my comfort zone to give this place a shot. Next time I will just stay in my lane and stay with what I know. I do not recommend this place, and suggest you keep driving by. Other good alternatives are not too far down the road. My family had not been here in years. Honestly the service we had last was not good. Not pleasant and food was nothing extraordinary. And to finish off that experience there was a charge for additional chips. Fast forward to this past weekend. We drove down from Show Low to give it another try as we had read several yelp reviews saying it was under new management. Two people on the party had a cheeseburger and fries and the other two of us had a combination off the lunch menu. The taco was crunchy and the beef inside shredded was delicious. we asked for extra salsa anything that was hotter than what they were serving and they brought us the green salsa which was extremely hot. Just what we needed and was great for the taco. The decor was the same as the last time we were there. It wasn't very busy right opening, but at the end of the hour approaching 12 on Saturday it was filling up pretty fast. The service was outstanding and the servers were pleasant. Our drink glasses were kept full Both with water or soda whichever we had. We were able to sequester some extra chips without an extra charge. I honestly didn't even look to see on the menu if they still did that. The crew that was working just seem to want to aim to please and always had a friendly smile. we will definitely be back for lunch. Not sure about dinner as the prices were a little bit higher than what we pay in Show Low. But that being said it was a beautiful drive down the 260 highway and we gave this place another try and we thoroughly enjoyed it. read more

Update #2. The food and service have been consistently top notch. We had the fajitas again last Friday night. They come out really hot and sizzling. The seasoning is spot on and the onions are cooked just to the edge of caramelization without being mushy. read more

Really wonder why good reviews, other than owner is having employees make fake accounts. Was here when last owner had it a few years ago and was so so then. Has not changed much other than they made attempt to remodel inside. Place has employees that could care less about working or how they treat customers, this visit was no different. Must be small, backward town attitude. As usual, service was terrible, food was edible but lacked taste and flavor of real Mexican food. What was really bad was smell in restaurant of rancid grease, my guess, they fry everything in same pot and don't change grease very often. This is Mexican food catering to white people, you are better off going to Taco Bell in Show Low. Will never eat here again and strongly recommend you don't either. read more

The first thing that caught our attention upon entering the restaurant was the acoustics guitar covers of Bruno Mars hits. The intriguing tunes inspired a Spotify quest that led to Guitar Tribute Players and an album download. The eclectic decor was random and enchanting. From a plaster deer head to a sombrero to Harry Stiles in a tutu, there was a quirkiness that celebrated what it means to be weird. A seafood lover, I was impressed with their many seafood options. The seafood burrito was a bit pricey ($21) but did not disappoint. The refried beans and the rice were fresh and flavorful rather than the customary overcooked after thought. I finished off these palate pleasers before starting on my entree which was adorned with avocado and crema. Filled with crab, shrimp, octopus, and scallops, my mouth felt like it had stepped into a seafood cocktail party. The mariscos were accompanied by bell peppers and mushrooms which offered a savory contribution all their own. From the hostess to the waiter, the staff were friendly and professional. Stopped in for lunch while driving through town. Outside looked like a hole in the wall but inside was nice. Staff seemed pretty aloof and untrained and generally unhappy. I think someone was mixing cleaning solutions in the back bc the whole restaurant started choking and coughing which was odd and wife had to take the kids outside to catch their breath. We always go here when we visit Overgauurd. It's like a must do when visiting. The place is under new ownership but am glad to see that the food is still amazing. My husband got the carne asada. So yummy. Beans are very good here. You could eat them all by themselves. I had the sour cream enchiladas. Two chicken enchiladas and I could only eat one. Check them out then also visit the aliens over by the phone booths. It's said that they based the movie Fire in the Sky for this area. Check it out too. read more

Wow! The NFS guy recommended this place to us and he was SPOT ON! Sooo delicious! The flavors in the mole were just perfect, as well as the flavor on the pollo asado. The guac was just perfect.
