Beachfront kitchenette suite, full size fridge, stove, microwave
Nikki S.

We just spent 5 relaxing days at the Parkshore Resort. We had the beachfront kitchenette suite, which we were unaware of. There was a gorgeous view from the foot of the bed, as well as a view from the living room. The bedroom has a king bed, tv in there plus living room. The full size fridge and stove were very handy for a 5 night stay. Although the wallpaper has some edges starting to curl, the mattress was a little firm for my preference, and the remote can be tricky at times, it was a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Needs a little TLC. I know they're working on things, having added new alarm clocks & coffee makers recently. We loved the pool and hot tub, really good water temps. The beach is beautiful, the ducks are friendly, and watch out for the big hole on the beach that a kid dug...he's probably giggling at a window when people fall in it at dark when walking the beach. Other than a beach trap, we felt completely safe here. We'll definitely be back. Thank you, Parkshore, for your hospitality.

My wife and I were making our trip to Traverse city(TC) and wanted a good stay. My daughter suggested this place. After all the cheap rooms where sold out, I was forced to rent the best room. Why not. I've seen worse and I've seen better. The room was clean. Towels were plenty. The jacuzzi was perfect. Good service. Friendly atmosphere. Then again, I'm a happy person so it does not take much to please me. Make sure to wear your mask. The hotel was situated on the beach and next to our water craft rental place. Recommend. Oh, no bugs. No ants. No bed bugs. Good

Peppermint patty! Thanks to the bar staff for accommodating my wife's request!

Rating on bar service only. A Wednesday in September: this place is hopping! Almost completely full when we arrived. Service was surprisingly fast! My wife wanted a peppermint patty (hot coco with peppermint schnapps, not on menu) and our waitress happily accommodated her request. It was very nice! 5 stars!

Only spot on the mirror. Maybe I'm being crazy but it's sketch .

We called up to stay here for our 5 year anniversary and weren't warned that the whole hotel was full of kids in a hockey league. We checked out at 9pm due to all the screaming and yelling . Also there was one small circle spot on the mirror that defoged when you whole mirror stayed fogged .

I think it's a real nice place make sure to get the beach patio room! I really liked it. Not the nicest but serves its purpose The pool room is warm and private with a hot tub ! The staff is out standing. Would see my self coming here again. My view this morning (beach side room)

The pulled pork sandwich was delicious and had just the right amount of BBQ sauce. The only thing I left on my plate were a few waffle fries- there were so many!! My husband said his salmon was incredible and cooked to perfection. He cleared his plate and almost ordered more food to go! Our cocktails were unique, tasty, and made with love by the talented bartender. Service was prompt, and our waitress was friendly and patient while we took our time trying to decide on what we wanted to order. Atmosphere is cool and cozy, and the restrooms were clean and well taken care of. We will definitely be heading back here the next time we're in Traverse City!

No need to shout to be heard by the person across the table. Service is welcoming and attentive without being overbearing. They gladly let my date sub a Cesar salad for the fries with her truffle burger. I did not care for the saffron potatoes and tomatoes that came with my grilled salmon, so they offered a side of Brussels sprouts or a dessert. My date really enjoyed her burger and her salad. I enjoyed the salmon even though I did not care for sides that came with the fish.

There…read morewas one aspect that entire group felt clear on: the high noise level made the experience uncomfortable. There were six of us in our group at a table, and you could only hear the person directly next to you. Our group had a reservation and were seated immediately. The restaurant is small, and the tables are very close together and felt packed in. They do have a small roped off 'patio' area on the side walk with a couple of tables. I thought the service was fine, others in the group felt it was poor (probably because no one could hear her and we had to repeat ourselves). The server did recommend that we share several dishes as a table as they are small plates. We ordered the bread and the three vegetable appetizers to start. Here is where it is hard to review: all of the appetizers were fantastic, interesting and fresh preparations. From the light courses section, we had the bougie corn dog and the duck pasta. I'm not a fan of corn dogs, I thought it was fine, but pretentious and not worth ordering, others liked it. I did like the duck pasta. The mushroom tart was boring, dry, and forgettable (side note that if you are in Detroit, Le Supreme's is absolutely fantastic, so this can be memorable). The other stand out was the walleye main, their use of curry made it an interesting, as well as delicious, dish. We all thought the halibut was awful, it arrived with a fishy smell, but was then somehow flavorless. If we were not all splitting it, it would be a send back dish. Overall, the dishes ranged from flavorful and interesting, to terrible. No member of our group felt they would return, and I would recommend against it due to the noise level, it really was that bad. Every sound echoed off of every hard surface. As a result, it just was not an enjoyable experience.

This is one of the times were you need more than five stars. Cook's House is simply outstanding…read more Every aspect of the experience was wonderful. The restaurant is a house in downtown. They only have space for 22 seats, and it was never full during our visit, it is intimate and welcoming. I made a reservation three months ahead, and obtained a seating for 8pm. We were welcomed warmly, and immediately seated. A mushroom broth "tea" was brought out complimentary. My friend who does not like mushrooms even enjoyed it. The service was perfect. Our server understood how to facilitate a tasting course, and the one very small misstep (under down steak for the member of our party that was pregnant, so it was not a being picky situation) was immediately handled without needing to be asked. The wine sommelier did a beautiful pairing. She offered the right level of presentation. Our group of four did the tasting menu. As they are farm to table, and the menu is constantly changing, it is not beneficial to discuss specific menu items. I do want to say the celery soup was representative of the experience, something I would not think to try or sounded amazing but was. My non dessert eating friend loved her dessert, she actually ate the entire cake. Interesting, creative, but not pretentious. A meal to be remembered.

We made the reservation a month in advance and still had to settle for 8:30 time slot. But it was absolutely worth it! Incredible doesn't begin to explain this restaurant! First, it's in the middle of a neighborhood. The name is perfect because it's literally a house. Very small which explains the need for reservations. The biggest stand out for me was the impeccable service! Your glass is never empty. If you get up, your napkin is promptly refolded. This was absolutely 5 star treatment. You also receive several courses with your meal. The food was OUTSTANDING. The menu changes frequently which is awesome because you'll never get bored. There is an Ala carte menu and a tasting menu. I was told to expect two hours for the 5 course tasting at 3 for the 7 course. Being that it was so late we stuck with ala carte. I honestly can't wait to plan a full tasting but it will have to be well planned out so I can get earlier reservations.
