I'm super disappointed in the "tempura veg and shrimp apps..I'm accustomed to panko breading with a crisp bite, breading was way too thick, a definite bummer. adding to that i ordered shrimp temp and veg temp.. in my shrimp temp box i received 4, only 4 shrimp.. and veg in my in my shrimp temp box.. at first i assumed there would be shrimp in the other box.. no just veg. Delicious & great deal ... The food is always made fresh, and I love that their hibachi grill is up front next to the register. You can literally see everything they're cooking. The menu is lengthy which can be a bit overwhelming. Best way to 'eat an elephant' is to take one bite at a time (my professor used to say that ALL the time). This totally applies - I've tried many of the dishes: the Chinese, Japanese, dessert, appetizers, soups etc. I've never really had a bad meal. For the longest time I have been trying to look all over RVA for a decent alternative Chinese restaurant. I happened to stumble across this place. From the Yelp reviews, I was expecting to be blown away by the food. Was I? Read the review to find out. The Good: Variety- Since this place does not solely identify itself as a "Chinese Place", they have a vast amount of dishes from a number of Asian cultures. They have dishes ranging from Japanese fried rice and Fillet Mignon with veggies. The Bad: Taste- I ordered chicken wings and chicken fried rice. While the food wasnt horrible, it wasnt award winning either. The rice, while fried, was dry. I love my fried rice to be extra greasy. So greasy that I can place the rice on a paper towel and see my hand through it. The chicken wings were decent, but the abundance of feather reminants in the wings turned me off from eating them the way I like to. Overall- This place has a big menu, but the food that I ordered did not meet my expectations. It may be a different experience for other customers. THREE STARS. read more

Prices are reasonable. General Tso's chicken was different than I'm used to, but for the better. There was almost an orange flavor to it that I really enjoyed and certainly plan to order it again. Low Mein was exactly how I expected it and if I were just writing the review on the first two dishes I'd give them a 5 star rating. What lacked for me was the chicken fried rice. All it had in it was yellow rice and chicken. I've found a lot of Asian restaurants in Richmond don't include vegetables like peas corn and/or onion in their fried rice and that makes for a boring dish. If they included some of those standard veggies in their fried rice I'd give 5 stars for good food at a good price. read more

Let me start by saying I have eaten Chinese food across this country. This was Hands-down the WORST Cashew Chicken I have ever had in my life. I was unable to eat the food I paid $10 + $9 delivery fee for. The sweet & sour chicken for my daughters was OK. My husband's General Tso's Chicken was not good, but at least edible. My Cashew Chicken didn't even SMELL like Chinese food. I rarely do this, but I called the restaurant and asked for my money back. I was put in touch with the owner. This is a great Chinese restaurant in Midlothian with great food that you should visit & definitely bookmark. I have been coming to this restaurant and have been ordering from them even before they opened the restaurant. The owner "Tracy & her husband" are very personable and would go out of their way to please their customers and would even do special orders for you. I always order their calamari as a special and Tracy always makes them for me even if it's not on their menu. I work overnight at a hospital as a nurse and we love ordering from Asian Grill. Asian Grill is about as good as a Chinese restaurant can get - especially in Midlothian. The food is always excellent and matches the order. The owner, Tracy, is extremely friendly, makes sure that everything is right and that you get exactly what you want. The prices are pretty average when it comes to the Chinese food and incredibly affordable when it comes to the Hibachi. Japanese Hibachi restaurants can charge $20 for their steak, but this place gives you the same if not better quality food at under half the price. I've gotten food here at least a dozen times in the past year and the quality of food and service is always the same Other than the Hibachi, if you're adventurous, I highly recommend asking them to just make you something good. They can make just about any Asian food that you could want, as long as they have the ingredients. Don't be afraid to go off the menu. But of course, the traditional staples are still good. Fried rice isn't too oily, friend and steamed dumplings are juicy and delicious, and the Moo Shu Pork is the best. They also use more high quality ingredients than other Chinese restaurants I've tried in Midlothian and Richmond. If you don't think you can tell the difference, try anything made with the chicken. Their customer service is amazing and their food even better. They actually know what spice is and understand that General Tso's Chicken is not just orange chicken. The flavors are what we had been looking for. On the spice... With the exception of Little Asia, on the west end, we have been disappointed with most asian food here, especially the spice level. We asked for extra spicy and I was asked to tell them on a scale of 1-10 how spicy I wanted it. I ordered a 7 and they gave me a 5, which was a good thing. So tonight we were in the mood for Chinese. We live in a small town so anytime we want takeout it's papa johns or some small town restaurant...but no Chinese places around here. I've been coming to this place since it opened, and while it's changed hands a couple of times, it's always delicious! Love that you can get a nice hibachi combo OR typical Sino-American food here. Fried rice that comes with combos is DELICIOUS as it doesn't have nasty extraneous carrots/peas in it. Some of our favorites are the S&S chicken, hibachi steak, Singapore noodles and egg rolls. (And did I mention that they're hella inexpensive and fast?) Best Chinese food in Midlothian, hands down. (And that includes the more expensive places that are within a mile of this one.) I had the General Tso's Chicken with fried rice. I decided to dine in as we just lost power due to Hurricane Irene. The food was well presented on a plate for a Chinese food establishment. The pricing was normal, as in below $10 for most items. I thought the sauce on the chicken was a bit bland and the rice suffered the same effects. I would give this place another shot. They have open dining for you to sit down once you have ordered your food. There is soda dispensing and condiment station for you to take items and beverages at your leisure. There is very little in terms of decor and ambiance. Very little design inspiration if you digest that with your meals. read more

I was already not too fond of this place the first couple of times I tried it. They have "okay" food. Then one day I tried it again, and I found a bug in my soup, DISGUSTING. I wanted to throw up everywhere. I tried to keep eating another dish I had bought, but then I found what appeared to be an eyelash. It was clearly human hair, thick and light brown/blonde. I threw it all away. I'll never eat here again, I don't care how clean they look in the front, they are clearly not clean and sanitary in the back. read more

It was alright. The prices are good and delivery is fast, but my chicken tasted rubbery and all one texture like it was boiled rather than stir fried. My boyfriend ordered Mongolian beef and it was 90 percent onions and ten percent beef. I was charged like four dollars to get no vegetables, which I have never heard of before.
