I ordered gravy, but they didn't offer the brown gravy, only the sauce from chicken and broccoli..... Personally, I didn't like this sauce, made my shrimp fried rice too salty. Order shrimp egg roll. Have dropped into this restaurant occasionally over the years and have never had a bad experience, until last night. 40 - 45 minute wait for carry out ended up being 90 minutes. Friday nights are busy, and anything can happen to cause the kitchen to back up. But when we got home, the food was just so disappointing. The rice was in such a tiny container, and when I opened it, the rice was loosely spooned in...there was barely enough rice for one person to eat half of the szechuan beef. There were only 4 strips of beef in that dish...it was mostly onions. The same was true for the Singapore Mei Fun. 5 tiny shrimp, a few pieces of chicken, and no beef. Mostly noodles and curry powder. Something has gone wrong with this place. Will never return. read more

On a previous visit I gave 4 stars because the food was good....at first. My last two visits resulted in a very unnecessary rude awakening. I was very disappointed in my meal so I decided to turn the car around and return it. I called ahead to let them know and was accused of devouring half of the meal and told that there was no way they would take it back. The meal I had just attempted to eat was a 3/4 portion of dried, overcooked chicken breast, smothered in sauce. I bit through 4 different pieces to see if perhaps I had just gotten a few tough pieces of meat (easy to do with white meat). The once very sweet little lady at the register became an evil step-sister who refused my return and/or refund until I demanded both. It is not just takeout but also has a nice little dining room and bar (although I think a majority of their business is takeout). I wish they delivered in the area. Greeted directly. Sat directly. We (my friend and I) were 10 minutes late for lunch special times, But they still allowed us to get the special. I got the orange chicken, it was crunchy and so good! Why does this restaurant not have five stars?!? I am gluten intolerant and haven't been able to eat Chinese food in about a decade. We found out cc wok was accommodating and actually knew what they are talking about. Ever since, this place is our family's favorite treat. I've never had anything I didn't like. Veggies are crisp and fresh, honey shrimp is an AMAZING succulent dish, and they even make GF fried rice. they Are a little family and they are always incredibly accommodating and friendly. Earlier last week I was on a mission to try a Chinese restaurant that I had never been to before. Along the way I encountered CC Wok. One of my friends recommended the restaurant to me saying that the food was some of the best in town and me being me, I had to see if this place lived up to the hype. How did my experience go? To find out, read below. The Good: Customer Service: I placed my order to go but both times I've come in the restaurant, the employees have been very friendly and genuinely happy to see me. The Bad: Taste- Maybe its because I've been spoiled by neighboring Chinese restaurants like Jiangs and Tops China so much, but I was not a fan of what I tasted. I ordered chicken wings, chicken fried rice and won ton soup. The won ton soup was standard. The chicken wings were hot when I received them but did not appear to have much seasoning on them. The chicken fried rice was somewhat dry and lacked the flavor that I was looking for. Price- It seems like the items that I tried on this restaurant's menu were $1+ more expensive versus if I would have ordered the same things from Jiangs. Flavor wise, Jiangs sets the standard for Chinese food in the Bon Air area. But to pay more money for food that does not exceed in portion size of flavor could be considered blasphemy. Wait Time- Usually the standard wait time for most Chinese takeout restaurants that I've been to was 10 minutes. This restaurant's wait time is around 15-20 minutes minimum. If you are willing to wait then this should not bother you. Overall- While I liked the customer service, I wasn't a fan of the quality of food that I ordered or the price. Because the customer service was the shining star in all of this, I could see myself giving this restaurant another shot in the future. And if I do, I will be sure to order something else. So sad that this restaurant has gone downhill so quickly. It used to be my go to restaurant for good chinese food, and we ate CC Wok almost every month. I liked it so much that I have gone back 4 times after bad experiences, hoping CC Wok would return to its old form. Sadly, I hear that they have changed ownership and think this may be the reason for the drop in quality, as the food has continued to leave much to be desired. The chicken is so chewy it is not edible. The vegetables are mushy. We end up throwing away the majority of our meal. The last time they forgot 1 of the dishes from our order and replaced another dish with the incorrect one. Sadly, I have gone back for the last time. We went here for dinner recently. I ordered the Hunan Shrimp and my wife ordered the Capital Chicken. Hers was better, with a very good sauce and a nice mix of vegetables, though mine was good too. We also got egg rolls, which were decent. Two complaints. First, they don't deliver, which seems odd for a suburban chinese place that isn't overly fancy/unique. I'd expect they'd get more business if they delivered; the place is good but not soo good that it's inconceivable for them to do this (e.g. their menu is basically a normal Chinese delivery menu printed on a fancy menu). That's a minor complaint, though. Second, and more irritatingly, we were charged $1.50 for a small bowl of extra white rice. This is (perhaps literally) the cheapest item for a restaurant to serve. And I might have forgiven it if the bowl was massive, but it was clearly an ice cream scoop of white rice. Not that I need a massive bowl of white rice; it's the principle of the thing. I'd go back, but I'll make do with whatever rice comes with my entree. read more

As someone who comes from the restaurant industry and considers themselves a "foodie," this restaurant is truly awesome if you want quality ingredients. Well, I have to say that my family purchased take out from this place quite often and really liked the food. It always tasted fresh and hot. Then I made the mistake of ordering a dessert--the cheesecake they said was from The Cheesecake Factory. When we went to eat this dessert it was disgusting. It looked and tasted like a combo of freezer burn (maybe?) and just plain being old and disgusting. I phoned them to discuss it. As I usually do when calling to complain, I opened with a compliment, in this case mentioned I was a regular customer, and then reported my findings. The girl (an All American if you will) who had taken my order and checked me out was the one who answered the phone. I heard her have a conversation with the owners. They refused to get on the phone, refused to apologize, etc. I heard them say that if I bought it and ate it I couldn't return it. They also tacked on (through the middle-man girl handling the call) that if I wanted to get in the car and bring it back that "they would look at it." I was also told that they don't do refunds. Huh? Alas, we've been so turned off by this experience that we haven't been back since. Talk about shooting one's self in the foot. with being cheap. I wish they would have just made it right by offering a refund over the phone which they could have done very easily. So, they made the money off their disgusting cheesecake but lost me as a customer. read more
