I just wanted to update my review and give it another star. Over the years I've come to realize this is probably my favorite spot for Filipino food, despite the distance I have to travel. I've never had a bad meal here. The only reason I don't give it a full five stars is the limited seating available. If you come at the wrong time you probably won't be able to sit. So...I had tried to eat here twice with friends, and had a few "issues" between the posted hours and when the kitchen actually closed, I had initially written them off, but then a friend convinced me to give them another chance, and I must say, it was the best decision I could've made...I almost missed out on some ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS FILIPINO FOOD...! I started my visit with a Halo Halo, (generously treated to me by Ysa, the lovely owner, as an "apology" for the now-fixed store hours mix-up)....sweetest treat in the land and one of the best ones I've ever tasted....that put an immediate smile on my face and instantly convinced me that I was in for a great meal. I ordered Shanghai rolls (a personal favorite and these were crispy and tasty filled with pork), Pancit Bihon Noodles (tasty with chicken and shrimp), Chicken Adobo (literally some of the best I've had, with onions in that yummy brown sauce over rice), Lechon Kawali (crispy and VERY flavorful), Pork BBQ on skewers (tender and sooooo good), and then a Kare-Kare that I was promised would not disappoint (and they were correct...the tender oxtail was perfect in delicious peanut sauce, again it made my rice so happy). So very authentic and so much love put into the cooking with good ingredients that I will certainly return again... There's also a very cute and well stocked Asian grocery there, just in case you were wondering....well worth a trip there for many reasons, the lovely owner being among them. Great little Asian grocery and cafe. Fair prices, decent selection. The wait was long for the food but it was fresh and delicious. We got the lumpia and Adobo pork. I would come back for the cafe but probably stick to Weee or HMart for groceries. In a pinch, it's great to have it as an option for Asian staples but I would go back for the food. Asian One, Ive loved you for years. I've hailed u to all we know as the best Filipino restaurant in Long Island. There is not a trip out in Mattituck and Hamptons where I wont stop for a meal. Your food is great, staff nice, good variety of groceries. I was shocked when you slapped an extra 18% for my family of five for dining in. One of my 3 kids eat in a high chair. Your 18% surcharge included the raw frozen groceries we didn't eat inside your Chinese takeout level of dining area. Yes, time are tough. Inflation hit bad. But dropping of plates in a table does not justify an 18% service fee. There is no condiments/sauce refills, there is no water refill, no "how's everything?" check-in from servers. A hidden gem on Long Island! I can't speak for the groceries, since I ordered takeout, but the menu is quite extensive. Breakfast options, entrees and even desserts are served here. I ordered a chicken adobo to go and picked up my order in a lovely little cardboard container! The adobo itself, so good. Its savory, salty (but not too much!) and the meat is just super tender. They provided so much food, I ended up having adobo for dinner and lunch the next day. Its a short review, no doubt. But I implore you to try this place out if you get a chance. Chef Minerva is the best. We ordered ahead to eat in: pancit bihon, Shanghai app, and binagoongan with eggplant. Outrageous. Cannot wait to go back to try something different. This place has been here for years and is always spot on delicious and made to order. I can't handle very hot so she made it with just enough satisfying heat. Delicious Filipino food! The kare kare (stew with meats such as beef oxtail and pork, veggies including green beans and bok choy, and tripe, all in a savory peanut sauce) is a guilty pleasure. So bad, yet so good. For meat and peanut lovers, I highly recommend. Pinakbet is usually my go-to with Filipino food, even when I was a pescatarian (I would just pick out the meat). And the Pinakbet is certainly good, BUT in the 2 decent-sized servings I had, there was ONE okra. And I love okra. Wish Asian One were more generous with okras in the Pinakbet. I'm not knocking off any stars though, as the Pinakbet is not as salty as it is at other Filipino places I've had it. Would also recommend the pancit sotanghon, particularly for those who love noodles! Also recommend making this a stop if you're shopping for Filipino groceries! read more

This store always harasses you about how you want to pay. Do you have cash, do you have Zelle, then she says you have to buy a $15 minimum to use a debit card. No one wants to be harassed about paying for items. Never seen a store bother a customer about paying like this one does. read more

This place is so good!!!!!! I was craving pork adobo and pancit after watching a ton of cooking videos on it. We shopped in the grocery store before sitting down for lunch. We came around 12:30, and it was pretty busy with many take out orders probably because it was a rainy cold day outside. There were 2 other people who sat down to eat. We order the fresh lumpia, fried lumpia, pork adobo, pancit bihon, and binagoogan. I've only had Filipino food once before. Everything was amazing, fresh and hot. The appetizers came out in 15mins. The entrees came out shortly after. The fresh lumpia was huge! There was radish, cabbage, carrots, green beans, chicken & shrimp wrapped in a soft savory wrap. It came topped with a sweet tamarind peanut sauce and minced garlic. It was very good. Much more unique than a regular spring roll. The fried lumpia was also very good with the same filling but in a crunchy wrapper, and much smaller. The fried lumpia came with a pickled onion sauce. It was very crispy and flavorful. Then came the pork adobo. Since we ordered 2 entrees besides the noodles our meal came with 2 bowls of rice for our table of 3. So they asked if we would like an additional bowl of rice free of charge. We agreed that it would be a good idea, so we got 3 plates of steaming bowls of fresh rice. The rice was really warm and fluffy. Cooked perfectly. The pork adobo was so tender, sour, sweet, a bit spicy and salty. I didn't think I would like the pieces of fat that came on the meat, but the fat just elated in your mouth, and the meat fell apart so easily. Then we tried the binagoogan, the meat was really salty, and spicy and had a unique flavor from the shrimp paste. It came with fried peppers and eggplant. It went really well with the rice and the spice was so good. Finally we had the Pancit Bihon Noodle. It was a bit bland, and came with veggies and meat. My favorite dish was the binagoogan. It was just such a unique flavor and spicy. Next time I want to try their fish and other dishes. I want to try their kare kare as well. The staff were really friendly and nice despite being so busy. It felt like eating with family. I will certainly come again. They can accommodate a large party despite their small kitchen. The waitress said they had a party of 10 coming in. read more

Ok as an American born Chinese with housing in flushing and just recently moved out to Long Island, I'm very unimpressed by this grocery store. It's mostly Filipino groceries but the entire store is three measly aisles. Yes you can get the core ingredients like soy sauce and sesame oil but it's truly bare bones. Also I would not get the ube mochi ice cream here. I bought it and it turned out that all the mochi balls exploded(?) and all the ice cream and mochi skin accumulated in one corner. I'm assuming their stocking process for ice cream isn't that good. read more

Wow. We came here honestly to just get baby bok choy to put on the grill at home, but as soon as we walked in we were greeted with the amazing smells of the bbq and fried pork. My husband said "you smell that" We knew we had to eat. I asked the gentlemen behind the food counter what are the best suggestions. He recommended the "knuckles" which we ordered, and the fried pork belly. We also ordered the bbq skewers (2) and it came with two rices. Also ordered fried calamari and spring rolls. Now everything came out super fresh and hot. Which is a big deal for me, I hate room temp food as if it's been sitting. We could tell everything was made fresh to order. The spring rolls came with sweet chili, they had the perfect crunch and a super yummy filling. Next was the calamari, which also was very fresh and the batter was really light and flavorful. The bbq skewers we're sweet and savory, and the rice had the perfect texture. The fried pork belly was soooo good, crunchy meaty and the right amount of fried fat-everything you'd expect. The knuckles was really good too, had pieces that cooked up like pork rinds, ugh so good! The meat was flavorful and tender. 5/5 would highly recommend, can't wait to be back. ETA thanks for your response business owner. I agree that expiration dates are kind of arbitrary. However ramen, plum candy, fish sauce etc have unbelievably long shelf lives. When they're "expiring" within the next 30 days, maybe it's time to take them off the shelf. They've probably been there 5 years already. I really like this Asian market/restaurant. It's right by my house and they have always been in business. Whenever I go in, the service is friendly and hospitable. I've never eaten here, but I have gotten take out a handful of times. The wait time is a little longer than most places, but that's because this food is not fast food. They prep everything the day you order it - as it is always very fresh. Some of my favorites are their breakfast dishes and noodle dishes. Enjoy ! PS. A nice variety of goodies, sad the kitchen wait was so long. After seeing this store featured on News 12 a few years ago, I've been wanting to make the trip! I'm a huge fan of HMart in Jericho. While this store doesn't have a ton of items like HMart, they do have a nice variety and it's great to support local businesses. Located on Portion rd. in Farmingdale, this should be easy to find. It's located in the shopping center with a few other small businesses. Plenty of parking. The workers here were very friendly. I came at around 12:00pm on a Saturday, I guess that was my mistake. I wanted to order some hot food from the kitchen. The woman up front informed me that my order would take at least an hour and a half. At first, I was still going to order. I wanted to try the Chicharrón. Unfortunately, the woman then informed me that they haven't had it in months. I also wanted some Lumpia, but I wasn't going to wait over an hour for it. Instead, I only bought some packages items and left. My plan next time, come very early! They also having limited seating to dine in. They have a nice selection of Ramen, snacks, and other packaged goods. I was able to find some boba tea in a can, the very spicy ramen, and some tasty snacks. My favorite, honey butter chips were in stock! They also have a small selection of baked goods. I tried the Ube Cheese Pastries which were delicious! Overall, this is a great store. Small grocery/casual restaurant with a few tables all in one. Most of the patrons seem to be regulars. We ordered chicken BBQ, some curry dish, chicken soup with ginger, and some dish with glass noodles. The chicken BBQ was soooo good - tender and moist meat with great flavor. The curry and noodle dishes were a bit bland. The soup was great perfect for a winter day. The service was reeeeally slow tho. Definitely waited a lot longer for our food than to eat it. read more

This place is amazing! I was just visiting the area, so I couldn't really pick up groceries, but I bought a ridiculous assortment of spice, sauce, and soup packets, plus some really nice wooden chopsticks, all for $20. This includes a huge packet of saffron. Everyone who worked there was very sweet and helpful, and the owner (I assume) told me about the different packets as she rung me up. I frequently shop at giant Chinese markets in brooklyn, and with the giant selection (and huge crowds), I never take time to really explore, I just get what I need and get out. At this store, it was so peaceful and I had a great time looking through their curated selection of Filipino (and other parts of Asia and Hawaii) goods. Heard about the delicious and generous servings so drove an extra hour since we were already in Long Island. For GPS, use Farmingville, not Ronkonkoma. Thumbs up for the Karekare, pork bbq, lumpiang Sariwa and lumpiang prito. Halo halo was so good with taro bits, pinipig and plantain, in addition to the usual ingredients. Sisig can use some spiciness though. Langka in ginatang langka was a bit mushy but good with fried pork it was topped with. For an eatery inside a grocery, the food is as good as in filipino restaurants in Queens but for a better price. read more

I got the kare kare and halo halo. The kare kare was absolutely delicious nice sized pieces of oxtail with array of vegetables. Bok Choy string beans and eggplant in a velvety peanut sauce comes with a side of white rice to soak up that delicious sauce. It took about 45 mins so order in a advance but it is worth the wait. My boyfriend and I went to see a movie at the Ronkonkoma Regal theatre and decided to check out the local Filipino grocery store. Disgusting food and terrible customer service. I bought a Pianono (jelly roll) in Ube flavor, a product I've had from Daly City, CA and Woodside, Queens before. I'm almost ashamed to share this photo because it makes me want to throw up. There's mold growing all over it. Two hours after buying the product, I went to cut a slice and noticed a weird green spot on one side of the cream. Then when I opened the roll (which is not the right way to eat it, but I was so suspicious) I saw spots all over it. To add insult to injury, the grocery store required me to bring the jelly roll back to the store for a refund. When I told them I live in Manhattan (about 50 miles from the store) and had already thrown it out, they were uncooperative and would not take responsibility at all for selling a rotten product. They downplayed my concerns by saying the jelly roll was shipped on the morning of my purchase, therefore, it must be fresh. Folks, if this photo represents a product that was "just shipped this morning", I don't even want to think about products in the back of the house. They may have saved 6 bucks, but lost a lot in future sales. read more

I usually won't set foot in a Filipino restaurant as my mom is a master chef, I kid you not! The last time I ate Filipino food at a restaurant was a total disappointment. I heard this place was pretty good so curiosity got the best of me and I convinced my husband to go for brunch today. Oh boy am I glad! This place is such a gem! We both had Tapsilog and shared an order of Sisig. Also ordered a chicken BBQ stick for my daughter who's a super picky eater. This food was AMAZING to say the least! The portion was perfect, not too much or too little. The chicken BBQ was soft, tender and thank goodness not under or overlooked. She ate half of it with her rice! They are so on point with the flavors, textures and quality! The cook truly knows what's up. You could almost tell the food is cooked with love and not just to mass produce/ serve it. It wasn't even oily like most Filipino dishes come out to be when ordering from a typical restaurant on Woodside, Queens. The staff was friendly, place is clean, you could tell they get plenty of locals there and believe me I will be one of them! Time to introduce my parents to this place!
