The "Fried Rice" was literally just plain brown rice. I don't think it was even fried. No vegetables, no sesame oil, no egg... just plain brown rice. I LOVE rice and couldn't even finish it after adding soy sauce and peas, it just has this weird 'off' flavor about it like it was days old and reheated or something. The "Lobster Sauce" is made with Imitation Crab. The shrimp is extremely overcooked and rubbery. It's not even edible, I had to spit out the piece of shrimp I tried. I would have given it a 1, but they were decent enough to give me a refund. I have never in life asked for a refund on restaurant food, but this felt like an insult. The employees here are always accommodating and kind. The food is always good when they're busy. If you eat at the bar when its slow, some of the items get a little dry or hard. I like to order off their menu. The portions are large to save for later. I love the snow pea meal. read more

Came here for the first time, not enjoyable, the crab Rangoon's were rough like jerky and cold... the shrimp was cold, the workers wernt very polite to the people next to us, and don't put closed sighns on the stuff that is out of order, but not gunna lie they were very clean and well taken care of. Came here for lunch on Friday afternoon. The place looks decently clean and the service was good. The buffet was kept filled pretty well. But, the quality of the food wasn't all that good. The fried items such as Crab Rangoon were very greasy. The General Tao's Chicken was heavily breaded. And the worst was the Lo Mein Noodles, which had a very off taste and smell to them (smelled like an old dish sponge). I don't think I will be back here. read more

Having just visited another Chinese Buffet about a week earlier, I have a decent point of reference for this establishment. The similarities were amazing. Strengths: Lots of food for a low price. If quantity and cost are your motivation, you will do fine here. Plenty of room, plenty of parking, and generally clean inside. This place has some ornamentation at the lobby to make it look Chinese, and limited decoration inside the dining area. Cons: Customer service is just absent. After being asked how many in my party and what I wanted to drink, I was shown to my seat. And that was it. No one asked if I wanted a menu (they apparently do have them) or wanted the buffet. No one said "help yourself when you are ready". I received my drink and sat until I finally asked someone at the table next to me what was the procedure. Since I didn't see the host/server, I decided to do the buffet. The sushi is made in the back and set out in a bar without labeling. Fortunately, it looked fresh and colorful and I was able to figure out the ingredients on my own. They also had multiple bars of different varieties, like salads, Asian entrees, soups, and appetizers. I did notice someone bringing out refills on the food bins who took time to clean the counters while there after delivering the food. The food was fine, but nothing special. I did try some of the sushi, the egg drop soup, and a couple appetizers, but based on the quality of those, decided I had had enough. I walked to the front desk without a ticket and asked to pay and they found the guy who kept track of that. Again, the system and training for meeting expectations is not there. Maybe it's a cultural thing, but I expect to be greeted, offered a menu, and a wait staff to pay attention to refilling beverages, clearing plates, and bringing a bill. I never had a problem with Asian Pearl till today March 22nd at 11:40am till 12:15pm service was horrible, and they were very bad a keeping the food hot, the food was very cold! They didn't care about helping to fix the problem either and they charged the full price of everything. Very very disappointed and will not be returning! read more

It's the best place within 30 miles of me. The food is pretty good, it's affordable and quick. The staff are friendly not like some of those Chinese places where the staff is always yelling at each other. I found the best time to hit is about 10 minutes before the dinner starts, fresh food. We were headed to Bedford to take some thing back to Lowe's, and decided to stop for dinner at the Asian pearl. The service is fantastic and the staff are super friendly. There were way too many unsupervised kids at the Buffet, we watched kids use their bare hands to serve the food and then to also throw food back onto the buffet. We watched several adults lick their fingers and then proceed to grab the serving utensils. The lo mein had a really weird smell and taste. It kind of reminded me of a really strong preservative or something you would use to pickle something. On a good note, the hot and sour soup was delicious, and those sugarcoated little fried-donut things were excellent too! We didn't try that many things because once we saw what was going on we kind of lost our appetite. Again, the service was excellent and attentive even though the restaurant was very busy. I wish they would've been paying more attention to the unsupervised kids. I also think having hand sanitizer at the start of each Buffet station would be a great idea. read more

I was really satisfied with the food besides the desert bar. I don't know what was in that pudding. The ladies' room could have use some direct attention. But they definitely could use a few more hands even though it's a buffet. Again the food was great my kids had no complaints. They actually ate more than one plate full. This is one of our favorite restaurants. I took my two kids (ages 3 and 5) out to eat the buffet here on Friday night. We stuffed ourselves full of delicious food like sushi (salmon, shrimp, eel, and various rolls), shrimp, seafood delight, honey chicken, and other favorites. For dessert we had Jell-O, pudding, and soft serve ice cream with all the toppings. The total bill was $13.14! My youngest kid ate for free and my five-year-old was only $2.99. Fast forward a couple years to our most recent visit, and while it was still good, it wasn't how we remembered it. There are a lot of options for everyone and they also offer carryout as well. They have a salad bar, desert bar, hibachi and of course the standard fare that you expect from a buffet like this. Now, inside, it's really cool. Delicious handmade egg rolls and dumplings are some of my favs. Food is usually fresh unless I go in near closing hours or at the end of lunch hours-which is pretty typical for all buffet restaurants. They seem to maintain the cleanliness of the place fairly well-usually when I go in on a Sunday, I see them do their weekly cleaning. Service is usually friendly, though the waitresses speak broken English. Great prices! The only buffet restaurant in town that's cheaper than Golden Coral. Tasty and health conscious choices are chicken and vegetables, pan chicken, sauted mushrooms, and green beans. The tapioca pudding is very good, and watermelon in season is excellent. Asian Pearl is a pretty decent Asian buffet restaurant. It is not fine dining, by any means, but the food is flavorful and appetizing. Be aware that foods that are usually spicy in most Asian restaurants are very mild. The only complaints I have regarding the food is A) it's always the same food. Unlike most buffets, they do not make any changes in the menu from day to day. Also, the only change, from lunch to dinner that I have seen is they add shrimp. B) The temperature of the steam tables isn't always as hot as it should be. I have been a regular customer since they opened several years ago. The service has always been very good. The waitresses are friendly, clear your empty plates quickly and refill your drinks in a very timely manner. They speak little English but it doesn't affect their service. The Health Dept inspections for Asian Pearl are rarely more than a minor violation or two. The rest rooms are always clean and checked regularly. Overall, I recommend Asian Pearl as a good choice for your dining pleasure. read more

We eat here often, as it is my youngest son's favorite place here in Bedford. They have a ridiculous amount of choices in their buffet. The food is hot, fresh, and delicious. I can't say we have ever had a bad experience here. With such a wide variety of Chinese food to choose from, you would be hard pressed to not find something you like...and a lot of it!
