    Teriyaki Beef and Shrimp

Do yourself a favor and come here with your friends. Large, comfortable dining room and the menu has fantastic variety!! We shared an Eel Avacado Sushi roll for starters. Fresh and delicious!! My husband had the Spicy Meso Ramen, which included Crab Meat, Grilled Pork, Bamboo shoots and boiled egg. He noted that it was delicious, but only really had one bite that was "spicy". I ordered the Teriyaki Steak and Shrimp. The beef was tender and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. I put Yum Yum sauce on my fried rice and was in heaven! We also had our favorite drinks, Yuengling beer for him, Cabernet for me. Our server Ingrid was top drawer!! Please check it out!! Note: we left at 6:30pm on a Saturday night and there was a line at the door.

The food was delicious and presented beautifully. The servers were kind & helpful. The kitchen was moderately fast, it was a reasonable wait time. The interior of the building was beautiful and set the mood

I came here with friends the other day and I enjoyed my time here! The sushi is affordable! I only paid around $9 per roll and it was pretty good. Some of the rolls were a little messy but it was good. It's definitely a nice place to go to with friends or whomever.

I've only been here once, but I was very pleased! I thought the ambiance was nice--not extremely fancy but seemed clean and bright. I was a little hesitant towards ordering Vietnamese pho (rice noodle) at first since it's a Japanese restaurant with Chinese elements, but the pho was actually really good! Broth was very flavorful, beef was nice and tender and they gave a good amount of it, and there were a lot of noodles which I love!! Only thing is that the bean sprouts and the basil was not as fresh as I prefer, but otherwise it was really good. And o another thing I loved was that they had bigggg portions so I felt super satisfied but if you have a smaller appetite that might be something to be prepared for. And I think service was good too so overall I had a great experience :)

Having lived in Hawaii for three years, it was painful picking my favorite sushi place in town being so far from the ocean. I've come to terms with the fact that I'm probably gonna have to eat sashimi that is thawed and I'm OK with that now as long as it's still good quality and as fresh as it can be. My kids and I, who are also sushi obsessed, have decided this is our favorite sushi restaurant in town. (My Thai second) We have definitely tried lots of the others out. We usually come during the happy hour time because my kids typically just like edamame, potstickers, & a simple salmon roll. I love getting the avocado salad (dressing is delicious.) then I either get the tuna Tataki or a fancy larger roll depending on how hungry I am. My only complaint is I used to get the hot sake until I realized they warmed it up in the microwave and that was a bit of a turn off to me so now I just stick to water or a glass of wine. My favorite part about this location has been my servers. Both of my regular servers were extremely hospitable and friendly and consistently delivered great service. There is ample parking. Other guests coming in for teriyaki grill items seemed very content also.

This was my first trip to Sakura 15 and definitely won't be my last. They're new and dealing with a good problem: word on the street is they are really good AND they're perfect for carry out which in my case meant a 20-30 minute delay on my food. I wasn't happy with that but the food itself made up for it easily! This location has been 2-3 Asian cuisine places in the past but they didn't last. I pray S15 does. Decor is ultra modern with an Asian twist. I didn't dine in so I don't know how service is but they were practicing social distancing well due to Covid-19 as I watched he room for quite a while. I ordered the steak and scallops dinner which came with a huge portion of both plus fried rice in great packaging. Egg roll included: The taste was great, it was hot (obviously it was just cooked and I picked it up myself and it's a 10-15 minute drive home). I also ordered a side of noodles which was dirt cheap and could feed an army. I ordered way too much because I had no idea what to expect. Others in the group had chicken and steak hibachi dinners. All enjoyed their food and we had leftovers for two days. The 'maybe we should order extra rice or noodles' is not necessary as I learned. Pricing was so good I just assumed small portions. The sushi appetizer we ordered (just a couple small rolls) were just ok. If I was looking for sushi for dinner I might look elsewhere but I usually mix and match so this will be my go-to. There was just nothing to the rolls for me but again i was overwhelmed by the hibachi side so that may have something to do with it. I'll order sushi again to see what I think. This place is great. 4 stars for now due to the delay and sushi but when I return it may adjust up to 5! Typing this on an iPhone so if I made a typo or to I apologize lol

Usually this is a great Japanese restaurant but tonight not so much. We ordered spicy tuna, California roll, IU/Bloomington roll, sushi sashimi combo, chicken fried rice... A lot of food. Nothing was spicy. The fried rice has a lot of chicken pieces and rice that's it. Not egg, onion, peas.. very uninspired. All in all very disappointing. IDK, maybe they gave us the wrong order?

Decent parking. Short wait time. Friendly staff that approach you the right amount of times, not too often, not too little. They are a laid back environment where you can bring your laptop and chill. The sushi is great! Very fresh. This is exactly what a sushi bar needs to be. I recommend going during lunch hour on a Tuesday.

College town gets big city sushi. The location is a strip mall. The town is Bloomington. The food was definitely a be back. They make great fresh, hot foot with generous portions. Eat in or get delivery on door dash. Either way you will love the food (and probably have enough for two meals). Come and enjoy - sushi, Udon, poke bowl, teriyaki ... all were awesome!!!

Ami was chosen as a family favorite and a place close to campus, where the oldest daughter (now a Junior at IU) could show us around after the meal. Note: Ami could sure use a new exterior sign. Ami is mainly a Sushi restaurant, but has Korean accents, of which my Cupbap bowl (Chicken and Rice) was quite good. I'm completely clueless regarding Sushi nomenclature, but I did know that those choices (in generous quantity) were enjoyed by the other 5 folks at the table. I was the only one that ordered beer, of which my Upland Dragonfly IPA choice had just the right amount of bite and at only $5. We also had a nice roomy table by the window. Service was friendly and prompt, albeit a bit uninspired. It was a very good family outing.

The sushi selection #2 was a little better. There was one piece of squid that included some nori and was well prepared. Tiny decorative amounts of tobiko were present. Soy sauce included was all high salt content. $82.00 Not ordering from Ami again.

The place is really cozy, I decided to eat outside on the patio as it sprinkled. They also sell some snacks and frozen goods you would find at an Asian grocer. Firstly, the prices here are amazing. The food came out relatively quick despite there being maybe one staff member there at the time. The Jjam-Ppong Ramen was great! The noodles had the perfect amount of chew and there was a decent amount of seafood in the dish considering it was only about $9. It was also the perfect amount of spice, I think even those who don't like spicy food could manage with this one. The Kimbap was also really good and had refreshing flavor with the pickles and veggies. The cheese was a nice addition. Overall I totally recommend this place. If anything, I had to wait a while to order after I was seated, but my food came out in a totally reasonable amount of time after that. I had the unaju and tempura ice cream. The salad that came with the meal was very basic, but the unaju was good. The eel was very flaky. The daikon tasted a little funny to me though. The presentation in the box was very nice. I really liked the tempura ice cream too. I've only had tempura ice cream once before, and this was a little different with a coating that was less crispy and more cakey. I got the shrimp tempura, and it was cold, and tasted like it was yesterdays. No crunch to the tempura whatsoever. i asked if they make it per order or one giant batch then use throught the day and the lady looked very confused. Ice cold shrimp, soggy breading, not a good mixture. Ive never had an issue with the tempura. Dinner was excellent of course. Recommend 10/10 Might want to skip sushi though. I dont recommend that. So I've read some of the reviews about how this place is really dark and dingy, when you first walk in lights are on you can see what you're doing you can see everybody there's a bar to your right and there's Booth seating for non hibachi. When you walk through the doors you're right at the desk to check in. If you look straight you can see the Hibachi room. This is a darker room so it can be more intimate. With the whole fire going on the grill, keeping it dim in the room gives it a "wow" factor and to set the mood/ambiance. Its not so dark you cant see, its just not as bright. If it's a bright room and you're having all of these fire tricks going on it's not a big wow factor. I've never had a metallic taste happen in this restaurant, nothing is wrapped in tinfoil, and I've been coming here since I moved here in 2010. Now you can sometimes get overcooked food here if the chef is overworked, but as long as you talk to them and tell them that it is overcooked they'll remake it for you. Or they'll take it off your check. Everyone here is easy going even on a super busy day. I've never had attitude from anybody. Also they don't use a bunch of sauce to Overcoat your food with flavor. A lot of other places will just load it up with teriyaki sauce and the other sauce that I can't think of the name of but the reason why they do that is because the food isn't fresh here the food is fresh. They use fresh ingredients. I've been to other Hibachi places where in their vegetables they add corn and green beans which ruins the whole flavor and then when they're cooking on the grill they add jarred garlic which is a whole different flavor that doesn't mix with the Hibachi experience. Everything is cut in front of you so if you don't think that your chicken is correctly colored you can see it and you can tell them. Again if you don't like something TALK TO THEM. They dont bite.
