I've eaten here before but only through pickup so this was my first time eating inside. Came in a large party and was served pretty quickly. The food was all so warm and flavorful on a rainy day. The pot stickers and the fried spring rolls were so good especially. And my main entree pick was spicy pad thai, I asked for extra spicy and they made it nice and hot so it wasn't too sweet like I prefer. Overall I love dark wood and low lighting of this place. We went here a few months ago, and again last night. Our first visit was great! Everything was hot, fresh, good quality. We especially enjoyed the coconut shrimp appetizer and the yellow curry with shrimp. The service was prompt and friendly. We used to visit Barley Sprout at this location, and were amazed at the transformation and openness with their business coming in. We were excited for a new Thai place downtown. Unfortunately, last night's visit was a stark departure from our former. I'm sitting here with gastro symptoms, and none of the 4 of us were impressed with our meal. The kid's chicken teriyaki saw a decrease in quality. The chicken was pre-grilled frozen rubber-like quality. My noodles were stuck together in places and uncooked, with multiple hot and cold spots (uneven microwaving). The honey pork was dry and unappetizing. My family member had to send their food back to be microwaved because it came out cold. I hope they improve enough to consider visiting again, but there are so many other options in the area that are consistent and decent. The quality this last time was just not acceptable. read more

We're exploring our area and Downtown Gresham, Oregon is popping! So many great places to hang out or just walk around and look at all the street art and all the great places to eat. We love Thai food. My wife is a challenge for any heat intensive food. She uses Sriracha like I use ketchup. Not kidding. I love spicy food but I knew from Date # 1 she was no joke when it came to spicy foods. I digress. It was late lunch time but I was craving Thai food at work. I work in a public school. No Thai food there. So I checked out Asian Thai Bistro. They were still open from lunch and I ordered Pad Thai Tofu. My favorite. I didn't get spicy because some places are too much for me and having nevbeen here before, I wasn't going to play games. My wife however would see it as a challenge and probably get the hottest version and still use Sriracha. And when I tasted it and cried, she would probably call me a baby. Rightly so, but still. My order was waiting for me when I got there. The modest but classy at the same time. I see this place getting packed at dinner. Good size bar as well. As they rang my card I was thinking about when I could bring the family here sometime soon. Food in hand, I couldn't get home fast enough. The peanut sauce smells filling my vehicle. If I was driving an automatic, I'm sure I would have eaten my food on the way home. (Stupid Manual Transmission.)(I'm kidding, it's awesome. Especially when you do a burn out in a 99 Jeep Wrangler.) I get home. Grab a drink and it's go time. I take my first bite and start to rifle yummy peanut sauce and rice noodles into my face. I ate more than half my food before I remembered I brought a drink as well. Gulp, gulp, and then I continued eating, mad that I didn't orderore things. I was about 4/5 finished when I took a breath and thought about saving the rest for later. A few moments later. I finished the rest of my Pad Thai Tofu (still upside didn't order more food. Not that I could have eaten anything else, I still wanted more of this restaurant's menu items in my house, for later. (wink) My Pad Thai was so delicious. I think about it often. Really good food!!! The yellow curry was incredible. Loved the purple yams in there. My daughter also got teriyaki chicken and we shared coconut shrimp with some really delightful sauce. I wanted to try the tangerine duck but my kid gets upset when I try to eat duck around her. Maybe next time. Place inside is huge. Lots of space for lots of people. Very nice service as well! On our way we stopped at the quilt store next door to the restaurant, we snuck in just as they were closing and told them we were headed to the Asian Thai Bistro. Oh they said it a great place. So after two positive recommendation we went in. The service was swift, wait staff friendly and the food delicious. Me; Pad Thai with fried tofu and my partner; Green curry with Broccoli. My husband and I have eaten A LOT of different Thai places! Today, we decided to give Asian Thai Bistro a try. Walking in, the first thing you notice is how roomy the restaurant is. The staff are super friendly!!! Very! I've been to restaurants and the staff completely ruins your day! Not here! They were staffed very well for dinner time on a random Wednesday. I counted about 3 running the front and 3 in the back. We ordered a total of 5 dishes. 2 salads and 3 mains. Didn't really expect much, but to both of our surprise ALL of our dishes were pretty good! Overall, we were super happy and WOULD come back. The only thing I would say is, we did ask for a spicy level of 5. Which is the highest it goes. So the spice could've been on the higher end and we would've been in love! Also, their Thai iced tea is HUGE!! The biggest portion I've ever received from a restaurant. First time. Got take away tonight 14 December 2022. Got red curry with vegetables, tofu salad rolls and papaya salad. Curry had good flavor but they didn't spice it hot as I requested also; the veggies were just mostly eggplant and I really don't know what else I think I seen a broccoli and some green beans but their were not many veggies and they were all over cooked. Next the tofu salad rolls they were pretty good . The papaya salad on a scale of 1 to 10 it was a 4 the shredded papaya was was so finely shred that it couldn't stay firm in the sauce. Also I asked for medium heat and it was very mild. The attending lady was pleasant. The restaurant it self is spacious and feels kind of more like a coffee shop then a restaurant. Hot fresh food served fast! Very flavorful dishes. I ordered the Tom Kha Gai soup to start and it was piping hot and very rich in flavor. I also had the spring rolls which were amazing. For my dish, I had the Drunken Noodle/Pad Ke Mao with tofu and it was tasty. The only complaint I have is that I really love spicy food and I asked for 5/5 spice and it was probably about a 3/5 - they gave chili oil on the side but it doesn't taste the same as if it's cooked with 5/5 spice. For some reason, I always find myself wandering into places like this....in search of something completely different. In this case it was in search of Pho. The original search came up with a Vietnamese place on the same street but it was closed for remodeling. So, this place was next on the list to try out for beef noodle soup despite it being a Thai restaurant. I'm simply reviewing this place for their beef noodle soup for what little that it's worth. I get it. Typically, people don't come here to have soup but to have some of their more traditional noodle and rice dishes. So this review only reflects the beef noodle soup I had there. For one, the soup has a lot of flavor but just not sure in the way of where the flavor wanted to go? It had a strong flavor of ginger along with a dollop of liquid soup base added that gave it that sweet and sour feel to it that I found to be a little contradictory with everything else. The flavor was really all over the board, not to mention, a good amount of salt to go with it. For me, like cilantro, ginger in small amounts goes a long way and when used in large amounts it just overpowers everything else. Unfortunately, the real criticism falls under with the meat and noodles. The beef ball was tender but the sliced beef was tough and chewy. The noodles were basically half-cooked since they had a bit of a crunch when I bit into them, in which, I thought was a little odd. Never had that happened before. The experience certainly wasn't the best but have had much worse. The service was a little slow at first but became attentive for the rest of the experience which reflects the 3rd star. Chances are, since Thai places are so abundant here across town and I typically don't spend that much time in downtown Gresham, I'll most likely won't be frequenting this place any time soon. If I do, I will definitely opt for something people talk about here and not get their beef noodle soup! read more

I had chicken pad Thai and veggie spring rolls for take out. It was ready within 8 or so minutes so I was curious how it would taste. It was actually very good. The spring roll could have spent a little more time in the fryer for a better crisp but the flavor made up for it. The sweet chili sauce was so good, I dumped the remainder on my pad Thai. Now that being said, when we found this place their Padthai tastes very similar to my favorite place in Arizona and I was so happy. I love Thai food, and I've eaten at several Thai places around the metro. I've tried this place three times, and this visit will likely be our last. The peanut sauce is the worst I've ever had. It has a nice thickness, but it's terribly bland. The salad rolls are bland too. There's a hint of mint in here, but it would benefit from additional flavors, more herbs, more carrot, anything with any flavor at all, because lettuce only gives you moisture and crunch. The pad kee mao is not the worst I've had, but it's not much better. I got the hottest spice level, but it's not even close to "Thai hot". The rice noodles are overcooked and mushy to the point of being unappetizing. The sauce is sweet and not very salty at all. Like, it's sugary sweet. The veggies are good, a good veggie to meat to noodle ratio. The sprouts are a nice addition--you can't get sprouts in pad kee mao at every Thai place. The place down the street from here has much, much better pad kee mao and peanut sauce. I feel like the Thai food there is just better in general. It's more "Thai" if that makes sense. read more

Pad kee mao is on point, and the best dish IMO as per usual. I havent been in a couple weeks, but suprised i didnt review (seems i forget the ones that are the best since im stuffing my face) If you want it hot get with them and really hit it home you want it spicy, on a 1-10 i say i want 'thai 10' or make it 'an 11' Id say its 2x vetter than the thai across the street with a better name ;) Look out for coupons in the 'entertainment guide' as they have a bogo and makes this place a steal!! The vegetables are cut in a fancy style the full show is put on. It just doesnt get to the wow. Its just food on a plate ready for you to consume without you having to make it. Came here since my regular Thai place was closed for maintenance. The Atmosphere was really dark, we sat by a window so we got a little more light. The prices seemed a bit high. I settled on the sweet soy noodles with seafood and my friend got the red curry with tofu. Neither of us were very impressed with our food. It wasn't bad but nothing that excited me. The place overall was very forgettable. After we finished it took us a very long time to get someones attention to get boxes and our check. With other Thai places being very close (one across the street) I think I would opt for a different one. Overall not a bad experience. read more
