The last two times we've ordered from here, we've left feeling pretty disappointed. The food still tastes good, but the prices have gone up, and the portions -- especially the protein -- seem noticeably smaller than they used to be. Our most recent curry had only about five pieces of chicken, which was surprising. I'm not sure if this is because we ordered it to-go, but either way, it didn't feel like the same value we've experienced in the past. That's evil. This has got to be the first Thai restaurant that didn't serve evil jungle. The best Thai dish ever. Ok maybe not to some, but to me it's my go to dish. In fact, a majority of dishes I see at a Thai restaurant back home weren't on the menu. And they had an odd plate of sweet and sour anything. So they have that in Thai? I ended up getting the pad Thai. It was safe for me. I wasn't so sure about this salmon curry or avocado with any curry?!? This place seems to be a mix of Chinese and some Thai cuisine. I mean it's a fusion I have never seen. Overall three stars. The food was ok and the service fine. Plenty of seating and very clean. I was treating my parents out to dinner and they wanted to eat here. I haven't eaten here in years and totally forgot how authentic the cooking was. I found that I ate so much and I didn't realize it. We ordered Pad Ka Pao, Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, Ginger Halibut, Fried Chicken Wings, Basil Fried Rice and Thai Iced Tea. Everything was so delicious and the flavors of each dish were exquisite. You can tell the Chef is very experienced with how savory the taste is in each dish. Overall, the food was amazing. The service was friendly and great. There was only one staff member who was doing everything in the front and it was really busy, yet she was able to attend to everyone needs. Covid-19 guidelines are up to date. The restaurant uses paper and plastic utensils during this time. You can tell that this place is really good because it sure got busy! read more

Things have been going down hill for a while but tonight is our last night for takeout. Drunken Noodles (with beef) was my go to for my husband to pick up on his way home when I didn't want to make dinner. Tonight was awful. He didn't even eat half. Maybe a new cook? Not going to pay $19.85 for one meal on a chance next time it may be better. It was good at one time but not anymore. I hope the chickens enjoy what he didn't eat. read more

I honestly don't know why it took me so long to do this review.... this is one of my favorite lunch spots!! Working really close this is a great spot to go to especially with a time crunch... Never terribly busy at lunch but steady. Clean inside and rather average surroundings. Sort of classic traditional thai decor. Service is good... not terribly focused always because it's not terribly busy but not bad because you have time to enjoy. The chicken satay is excellent. Tender and the peanut sauce is yummy! Fresh rolls were awesome. They were even good leftover... always a nice fresh kick to start with. Wrappers are sticky as they're supposed to be. Great fresh crunch. I haven't had it but friends have said the curries were excellent. They looked hearty and fresh. The Pad Kee Mao was excellent. I had it several times. Noodles are fresh and soft. Great flavor. Excellent leftover! But the star of the show for me now is Tom Kha Soup with chicken.... ohhhhh me oh my! Comes out with a live flame which is fun for presentation. But the flavor... oh freaking yummmm I love it! Chicken is tender, mushrooms are al dente, onions are great and tomatoes are fresh but that coconut milk broth yes!!!! Such a great flavor melding... do not eat the lemongrass or basil! You'll regret it bahaha but just pull them out. I almost always have to take some home. Thai tea and coffee are both great!!! The food is great but the wait staff can be somewhat rude. Their listing says they're open until 8:30pm. We showed up a 8:00pm and we could tell by the looks on the 2 waitstaff's faces that they were unhappy we were there, so unhappy that we asked, "You are open till 8:30, right?" They replied, "We can seat you if you can eat quickly enough to leave by 8:30." Needless to say, we left. I've never had that happen in a restaurant before. Being "Open to 8:30" generally means "we'll seat you until 8:30," not we'll run you out of the restaurant at 8:30." If they want to have everyone gone by 8:30, they should say they're open till 7:30. We ordered veg Pad See Ew and veg fried rice. We shouldn't have asked for 2 star spiciness because that was just hot enough that it was a bit too hot for us. This is a pleasant restaurant with lots of room and a great staff. The food was really delicious and the price was reasonable. It's kind of an open cafeteria style restaurant... with special touches liked farnish tables with pretty folded napkins. But it's not too fancy so don't worry about that. What keeps it from the deserving five stars in my opinion is having a staff table for eating that is within eyesight of the customer. And the music is just kind of off. One more thing... I like it when the staff is dressed more professionally than we usually see at restaurants these days. read more

I don't know why I'm giving them four stars instead of five. The food was delicious, but a bit spicy for two stars. The space is one big open room. They don't have any booths just cafeteria-style tables. Maybe that's why I deducted one star. The servers are very efficient and to the point. They have okay selection of beer. I really wanted to give them 4 stars but I just couldn't get there. For a town with not a great reputation for good eclectic food, I found their food pretty good. Their beef pad thai was one of the better ones I've had in a while, but it didn't come with a lime which was disappointing. We also got chicken teriyaki for the kids, which I wasn't super impressed with. Their sauce was too thick and sweet and they used chicken breast instead of thighs. At the same time, it's not a teriyaki joint so I give them a pass. We also got their shrimp tempura which was weird in that it wasn't traditional tempura batter. It was more like fried shrimp with breadcrumbs. It was actually tasty and we ate it up, it just wasn't what we were expecting and maybe shouldn't be called tempura. The service was good initially. But when it came time for the bill it took forever to see someone and we just sat and sat. Also, some of our steamed broccoli had these black spots on them which were not char marks. I pointed it out to the waiter at the end and was told they were steamed too long. I've steamed tons of broccoli and eaten a lot of steamed broccoli at restaurants and that's not what it was. I felt like he didn't know and was thought I was stupid. I think they may have been going bad but either way, it's not from being steamed too long. I'm in Portland visiting my daughter and her fiance. They treated me to dinner at one of their favorite Thai restaurants. I have to agree, it was fantastic! I ordered the stir fried ground chicken and shrimp. It came in a huge bowl shaped like a fish and had a large bowl of steamed rice in the side. It was full of perfectly cooked green beans, peppers, onions, and probably some veggies I couldn't identify! They were just slightly crunchy yet, which paired nicely with the many pieces of chicken (some ground, some chunks) and 4-5 large shrimp in a slightly sweet and wonderful sauce. Delicious! The other dishes ordered for our group were panang salmon and pumpkin curry with chicken. They were also declared delicious! The salmon's coconut sauce was sweeter and zippier than mine, and a little too much for my taste. They were hoping the restaurant could cater for one of their events, but our server said they don't do that. The staff was all very friendly, kept our water glasses filled, and checked on us several times throughout our dining. I'd definitely go back and try more of their extensive menu options. read more

I called in an order where I asked to sub broccoli for potatoes in the curry, which I always do because potatoes do not set well for me. They said they could sub but for $3 extra which I thought was crazy! I changed my order to Panang with chicken because it doesn't have potatoes. I honestly wanted to hate the food because of the service and then when I went to pick it up I got some dirty looks from whom I'm assuming was the person who took my order. But it was really good! I'd go back and get the same order again. My sister got the drunken noodles which were fine but also not usually my fav already. The food was really good but the service needs to get better. This place is a good, local go-to for Thai food. I tend to order the same thing each time - pad woon sen with beef added easily fills you up and you have plenty of food for one or two leftovers later. It's not too spicy either so if you're wanting some heat, I would ask for a side of spicy chili oil. The other dish we ordered was a mixed seafood stir fry and we ran into some issues with asking for baby corn instead of mushrooms, even after we offered to pay more for it - we eventually got what we wanted to order for that dish after a bit of runaround but it seemed unnecessary to get that kind of resistance for a small request. We ended the meal with mango sticky rice and we're super happy with it - the coconut drizzle on top was on point. read more

Got some take out today. Ended up taking it out to the trash!!! Wonton soup is sad!!!! Broth is light and flavorless, wontons are these sad tiny little gross shrimps covered in a thin tasteless wonton wrappers, small amount of cilantro, a bucket of bean sprout and noodle. I'm ADDICTED to Wonton Soups but this one should be renamed to Broth Soup with a couple shrimps . Fried wontons taste like fried flour chips and the filling is the size of my finger nail. I will NOT be back as yhis place has proven to be anything BUT authentic or attempting to be close. It's been awhile since my last review so decided to take my family in for some dine-in food. Wait was a little long but that was ok due to the amount of pickup orders. The food was a mix bag. Dishes with chicken turned out ok, but the seafood was still cold and flavorless inside. The shrimp was detailed, but the shells were tossed into the padthai. Our egg rolls tasted like frozen food from the grocery store. The servers were good though. Most of the wait time was caused from them taking to go orders or on the phone placing orders. I recently tried this place after some friends suggested it. I called in my order they were friendly on the phone, as well as nice when I arrived to the restaurant. I ordered the fresh shrimp salad rolls and chicken pad Thai and wow. Fresh salad rolls can be a hit or miss and these might be the best ones I have had yet. The shrimp was perfect and the ingredients inside of the roll all tasted fresh. The chicken pad Thai was the best I have had in a long time. I was a bit worried because they never asked over the phone the spice level and I am honestly happy they didn't. I am someone who is a total wimp when it comes to spice and always get no spice but whatever level they used was the perfect amount. The portion is also a decent size. Large parking lot to park in as well as many seats inside of the restaurant if you decide to dine in. I will definitely be returning and can't wait to try more things! read more

Chicken satay $7 You get 5 kabobs with one piece of chicken each. Curry powder marinated? Flavor was good. One of two GF appetizers they offer. Massamun curry with beef and fried rice. Rice, potatoes, carrots, onion. Very subtle taste of curry. Again well cooked, protein and veggies we just right. Wife tried the pad Thai noodles with veggies. It came with veggies but they left off two of the other ingredients, egg and green onion. There is no sauce listed on menu. Sauce was OK but we had no idea what it was. After hearing great things for months, I was excited to try this place. I ordered the panang curry with chicken, which is my go-to Thai order. This was some of the best I've tried! Flavorful and sweet, with nice peanut and coconut flavors. The vegetables were fresh and crisp, and the rice was cooked well. I also tasted the pad Thai, the massaman curry, and the beef noodle soup, all were excellent. They lose a star for no free refills (their soda is from cans- like many Thai restaurants), which shouldn't be a big deal, but I'm a glutton and love a Diet Coke. It lacked the flavor of beef salads we have had at other thai restaurants. However, the beef was tender and the portion size was decent. For $12 I expect to be able to eat it. It was so salty I could only eat a few bites. Shrimp salad rolls were ok at $6, but were fairly small, although the peanut sauce was tasty. We got takeout. Nice and bright inside, wine and beer available. Service was not very friendly. Probably won't go back, but may give a few other favorite dishes a try. This was an order placed to go. I asked for Thai spicy (the spiciest level) and it was mild at best. The dish was overall pretty bland and the shrimp were bland as well. What is this delicious Thai food restaurant doing in the middle of a mostly empty strip mall!? We needed some food on the way back from the gorge and found this place based on the positive reviews. Sure enough we noticed that there were quite a few people in here, even though this place seems like an oasis in the dessert. I literally didn't even know this part of Troutdale existed. The name and décor were fun as it reminded my husband and me of our honeymoon and the time we spent in Chiang Rai and the Golden Triangle. The spring rolls were good and refreshing after hiking all day. The Pad Kee Mao was delicious and well made. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the Tom Kha. The flavor was just weird. Anyways, great place to check out when you're in the area. Hopefully more businesses will move into the strip mall soon. read more

Finally! We need more decent restaurants over this way. The place is packed. Even though they just opened, people are desperate for a new restaurant around here. The food did not disappoint. We were told that they dont make Thai style Thai food we were told its 100% American style Thai food. Hmmm. That left us wondering what the food was going to be like. Because we were wanting real authentic Thai food. Not an Americanized version. I mentioned to to the waitress that I'm vegan if she had any suggestions for me. She first offered a noodle dish and i declined that; next she mentioned #61 Pad Ka Pao. So I went with that with tofu. my friend chose the Halibut. We both ordered papaya salads. Mines thai hot my friends medium. The papaya salads were not good. Simply because the salad dressing was so sweet and all of the papaya was soaked in it. For mine they did not bring the heat. Having requested thai hot I was expecting some good spice. But It was more sweet than any thing eles. I did try to eat my papaya salad just because I was hungry. My friend had one mouthful and left the remainder there. For the main entrees I really didnt enjoy mines because all of the vegetables were very over cooked to the point that they were all wilted and lifeless. Also the tofu was flattened out and squished. It would have been more enjoyable if the tofu were in large cubes or at least not flattened out. Lastly I asked for hot for the spice level and again like with the papaya salad it was just overwhelmingly sweet. My friend was trying to eat the Halibut but he didnt csre for the breading that was on it.. so he was picking at it to get to the actual fish. Also he didnt care for the fact that all of the vegetables on his plate were very over cooked I want to be fair if I were rating in the service and the decor it would be 5 stars I wish I could say the same for the food. It just left too much to be desired. But judging on the other Yelpers guving this place many 4 and 5 star reviews perhaps some of you might like the food better then I did. read more

Hardly any chicken, small portions. To go order presented in little "left over" type boxes. Staying at a local hotel, so it's a bit difficult to to eat out of boxes. Ordered online, was given a time for the order to be ready for pick up, got to the restaurant just on time, and still waited another 15 minutes for my order.
