I was treating my parents out to dinner and they wanted to eat here. I haven't eaten here in years and totally forgot how authentic the cooking was. I found that I ate so much and I didn't realize it. We ordered Pad Ka Pao, Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, Ginger Halibut, Fried Chicken Wings, Basil Fried Rice and Thai Iced Tea. Everything was so delicious and the flavors of each dish were exquisite. You can tell the Chef is very experienced with how savory the taste is in each dish. Overall, the food was amazing. The service was friendly and great. There was only one staff member who was doing everything in the front and it was really busy, yet she was able to attend to everyone needs. Covid-19 guidelines are up to date. The restaurant uses paper and plastic utensils during this time. You can tell that this place is really good because it sure got busy!

    Drunken Noodle could eat.

Things have been going down hill for a while but tonight is our last night for takeout. Drunken Noodles (with beef) was my go to for my husband to pick up on his way home when I didn't want to make dinner. Tonight was awful. He didn't even eat half. Maybe a new cook? Not going to pay $19.85 for one meal on a chance next time it may be better. It was good at one time but not anymore. I hope the chickens enjoy what he didn't eat.

We ordered veg Pad See Ew and veg fried rice. We shouldn't have asked for 2 star spiciness because that was just hot enough that it was a bit too hot for us. This is a pleasant restaurant with lots of room and a great staff. The food was really delicious and the price was reasonable. It's kind of an open cafeteria style restaurant... with special touches liked farnish tables with pretty folded napkins. But it's not too fancy so don't worry about that. What keeps it from the deserving five stars in my opinion is having a staff table for eating that is within eyesight of the customer. And the music is just kind of off. One more thing... I like it when the staff is dressed more professionally than we usually see at restaurants these days.

I don't know why I'm giving them four stars instead of five. The food was delicious, but a bit spicy for two stars. The space is one big open room. They don't have any booths just cafeteria-style tables. Maybe that's why I deducted one star. The servers are very efficient and to the point. They have okay selection of beer. One of them is Hefeweizen, and that's good enough for me. The prices are very reasonable for what you get.

    86. Stir Fried Ground Chicken and Shrimp

I'm in Portland visiting my daughter and her fiance. They treated me to dinner at one of their favorite Thai restaurants. I have to agree, it was fantastic! I ordered the stir fried ground chicken and shrimp. It came in a huge bowl shaped like a fish and had a large bowl of steamed rice in the side. It was full of perfectly cooked green beans, peppers, onions, and probably some veggies I couldn't identify! They were just slightly crunchy yet, which paired nicely with the many pieces of chicken (some ground, some chunks) and 4-5 large shrimp in a slightly sweet and wonderful sauce. Delicious! The other dishes ordered for our group were panang salmon and pumpkin curry with chicken. They were also declared delicious! The salmon's coconut sauce was sweeter and zippier than mine, and a little too much for my taste. They were hoping the restaurant could cater for one of their events, but our server said they don't do that. The staff was all very friendly, kept our water glasses filled, and checked on us several times throughout our dining. I'd definitely go back and try more of their extensive menu options.

Pad woon send with beef added

This place is a good, local go-to for Thai food. I tend to order the same thing each time - pad woon sen with beef added easily fills you up and you have plenty of food for one or two leftovers later. It's not too spicy either so if you're wanting some heat, I would ask for a side of spicy chili oil. The other dish we ordered was a mixed seafood stir fry and we ran into some issues with asking for baby corn instead of mushrooms, even after we offered to pay more for it - we eventually got what we wanted to order for that dish after a bit of runaround but it seemed unnecessary to get that kind of resistance for a small request. We ended the meal with mango sticky rice and we're super happy with it - the coconut drizzle on top was on point.

    3 wonton soup. :( Bland!

Got some take out today. Ended up taking it out to the trash!!! Wonton soup is sad!!!! Broth is light and flavorless, wontons are these sad tiny little gross shrimps covered in a thin tasteless wonton wrappers, small amount of cilantro, a bucket of bean sprout and noodle. I'm ADDICTED to Wonton Soups but this one should be renamed to Broth Soup with a couple shrimps . Fried wontons taste like fried flour chips and the filling is the size of my finger nail. I will NOT be back as yhis place has proven to be anything BUT authentic or attempting to be close. Subpar would be a compliment at this point. 3 stars instead of 1 or 2 because the place is large, clean and has plenty of choices for those in town who are new to thai cuisine (or have no idea what real thai tastes like).

We brought our water bottles, so we didn't have to buy any drinks, but the drinks look really good! They have a thorough beer, cider, wine, menu, and really cute frozen margs. Anyway, I was really happy with everything I ordered the sundae was so good! You can tell that they put a lot of care into the ingredients they make, like the macadamia-oat brittle was full of ingredients and brought a fun texture and a lot of flavors to the sundae. The chocolate magic shell had kind of coffee in it, which was a fun, tiny crunch and another good flavor. The Thai tea whip was the " cherry on top." I highly recommend adding the miso caramel sauce and Matcha magic shell! So yummy! Just as I said with the sundae, the sandwich and tomato also seemed to have quality ingredients. The tomato soup was delicious, but the flavor was gorgeous with the roasted tomatoes and chive oil, though a bit rich. I definitely finished it, but I do think that having some of my sister's grilled cheese to dip into it was more appropriate than eating it on its own. The sandwich I got had the softest milk bread and was just a classic deli sandwich, but you can tell that again, they used quality ingredients. I felt like I got my money's worth for everything I paid for. The parking situation was great, we parked in the overflow lot across from the establishment. There was a five dollar charge, and if you show your receipt when returning to your vehicle, they gave you a refund. Waiting in line wasn't terrible, we waited maybe 15 minutes? The only thing is that they have a ramp leading to the patio and a long line is inevitable, and the ramp is narrow, so if somebody wants to pass through with a stroller or a wheelchair, everybody on the ramp has to move off to let them through. When we got up to the front to order, something happened with their system, and they had to pause orders for a couple minutes, which didn't bother me, but I could see how maybe that might bother someone else. Either way, they were very nice throughout the wait. There are a lot of people there seemingly throughout the day, and we had a group of five adults and four kids, but we were able to find a picnic table with enough room easily. The picnic tables are also nicely set up with good canopies and the table itself felt pretty clean Lots of Instagrammable foods and photos op spaces.

The situation is like this, they really don't have their own parking at all. You have to pay for parking at the nearby park which is also where the bathrooms are. However, you can skip all this by going through the drive through, but it is a bit chaotic as you try to follow all the signs on how to get into the drive through, but be extra careful as kids and adults are paying attention and walk into the drive thru lane without looking. Since there is a wait for the drive through, they are smart to have QR codes to look at the menu while you are in line. They do have done picnic table setups for sitting down but also some tables inside Sugarpine. I think we waited about 10 min on a Sunday afternoon so it wasn't so bad of a wait. They do warn you that they serve a 20% service fee on top of your order. However, I don't understand why. I got no table service. Basically a guy took my order and handed me my ice cream cup. I usually give 20% for real table service. Not sure if this is one of those charges they use to give the employees certain benefits? It was unclear to me. I'll be honest, I was very disappointed in the soft serve offerings. It was chocolate or vanilla or a swirl but there was a plant based offered that is a little more which is a bit more interesting. We got one chocolate vanilla swirl and one blueberry ube kids cup (5 oz) The had coconut vanilla as well, but I did not try it. I paid my just over $10 charge which wasn't too bad, but since there is no place to eat these I drove into downtown Troutdale to Harlow Park where it is free to park and plenty of covered tables. While I enjoyed my soft serve, it wasn't really anything special to me that I couldn't find in other Portland locations. In fact, I've had better. I do appreciate the family run business and the local kids that work there, I think it is a great thing, but honestly toss lace seems best for a stop on the way back from a day at the Gorge, else I won't go out of my way for it. Nothing wrong with it as I said, it tasted fine, but it did t blow my mind either. I did not get to try their BBQ offerings so I can't speak for that but it did small good. I know that have $10 offerings for dessert that have toppings and such but for me the base or foundation of it all is more important to me.

Walking into the Soda Shop, it feels like a kid's daydream. There was candy and souvenirs everywhere, a big ice cream counter, and, of course, the soda shop. I noticed that they also sell food here-- it smelled amazing and I would definitely give it a try if I came again. Ordering was easy, and the young man behind the counter was really helpful-- I had never been to a soda hop before, so I had some questions about the options. He did not make me feel silly for having questions, and he did a good job of both training his coworker and being attentive to the line at the same time. I ordered a sugar free salted caramel soda (there were so many sugar free options!!!) It was delightful. I was a little apprehensive that it would actually taste like the flavor, but I was pleasantly surprised. The price point is higher than you would pay for a normal soda, but I think that the novelty of the experience is worth it.
