Asian Thai Kitchen 2 is my favorite place to order delivery from and has always warranted five stars! I've ordered countless chicken pad thais (my fave), green curries, and drunken noodles, and they've never forgotten anything from my order or taken longer than expected. Most importantly, the food comes hot and ready to eat. Pro tip: If you ask for your noodles or curry to be "medium" instead of mild, expect a kick! I love it. I'm a small gal but I can get a lot of food down. Even so, I almost always have leftovers, especially since I usually add an order of shrimp shumai and Thai donuts to knock up the total of my order if I'm dining solo. Recently, I stopped by the brick and mortar along Calle Ocho because I was close and decided to do pickup. It's very small with not a lot of seating, in fact, the majority of the space consists of the kitchen. The woman who gave me my food was super friendly, it almost made me want to go back to have a meal there, but let's be real. Very rarely does a culinary experience become a dream that sweeps me off of my feet. As a matter of fact the last time I slipped into that bliss, it was during a full moon and I had a piece of Insomnia Cookie heaven in my mouth. I was on my way to get my usual horchata at the local Mexican cantina and my eye caught a hold of this place while parking. ATK (Asian Thai Kitchen) is easy to miss, its a little place sandwiched in a pre-revolution Havana like plaza. ATK is really a take out restaurant, but inside there's one small two seater table and a small 3 seater counter. I decided to pass by this place the following week to try it out, and thank God I did. The food was so delicious the first time, I came the following night and ordered the exact same dish. What did I order? I call it heaven on a plate...But in Thai its known as Pad Prik Thai Spice ($12), delicious sauteed Thai curry paste with basil leaves, red peppers, string beans and bamboo shoots. OMG talk about perfection, this dish temporarily put me on the Mount of Olives. It's definitely been a while since I had some GOOD Pad Thai and ATK definitely offered it. When you first see ATK the door to the left is for take out and the one in the right is for dine in. I ordered their Pad Thai which was so good and it's been a while since I've been impressed with a Pad Thai. I also had their Kimchi Fried Rice which looked taster than the fried rice in other Yelpers reviews. It was ok. It's usually very spicy but I asked them to do it with no spicy at all. Even with that it was still a little spicy but ok. I also had the Red Curry but I asked them to make I with beef. I got to taste the sauce and I was quite disappointed. It's suppose to have coconut milk but I couldn't taste it at all. Not something I'll probably order again. Over all the customer service was good. Something must have changed in the last few weeks/months because the food quality has been noticeable better. The pad prik dish and curries have been delicious and full of flavor lately. I love Asian Thai Kitchen because the prices are reasonable for dt Miami area- where other places can easily charge $15-22 for Thai curries, this place doesn't. The shrimp pad Thai was overcooked dry and lack of fresh and delicious flavor which is typical of Thai cuisine. It was really terrible. I also ordered a seaweed salad which was a pile of seaweed thrown on top of mixed lettuce with carrots on top also basically on identifiable as a seaweed salad. Fantastic place for Thai food. I usually stop by their quickly-mart location in the groove for take out. The food is solid... good, affordable, and delicious! Came here for dinner last night and was pleasantly surprised of the overall calm of the environment. I really got some zen vibes from the Asian music and the modest decor. It definitely took me back to past adventures in south east Asia. Seriously, most restaurants I went in Asia had this look and feel. Service was prompt and courteous. She was very attentive and had a great attitude even though she was dealing with some 'difficult' people in another table. The food was very flavorful, we had Tom yum Gai soup ... spicy, full of flavor, with lots of noodles, veggies and chicken. And Pad woo sen... clear noodles with egg, lots of veggies and I ordered with steak which was tender and nicely flavored. Everything was really good. This review reflects my takeout experience only. We wanted late night Thai takeout on a Sunday, and this was one of the few places open that offered delivery. Eat24 informed me that my food would arrive in 1 hour and 15 minutes since the restaurant was busy around 9-ish, our driver came 15-20 minutes later than anticipated. Our food arrived warm. My friends really liked the Tom Kar Gai soup, which I didn't try. I had the shrimp pad thai, which I thought was a little heavy on the tamarind paste/rice wine vinegar and was too sour for my taste. Had lunch at Asian Thai Kitchen 2 on Saturday afternoon. I ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai Lunch Special and a Thai Iced Tea. Quality My issue with Asian Thai Kitchen 2 is simple, everything I ordered was way too sweet. With the Thai Iced Tea it is somewhat understandable. Anytime I decide to order the drink, I understand that it may end up on the sweeter side. However, this version was so sweet it had my teeth hurting. I am not sure exactly how they prepare it, but I think they may need to reduce the amount of sugar they use. In terms of the Shrimp Pad Thai, I did not enjoy the sauce at all. I personally believe the sauce is what makes or breaks pad thai and that a good sauce will balance the sweetness with heat and sour. This version was all sweet and reminded me of syrup. I also felt like they may have overdone it in terms of the red pepper included. I will say I felt they provided a generous portion of shrimp and I also enjoyed the spring roll that came with the lunch special, but in the end the sweetness ruined the meal for me. Quantity The Shrimp Pad Thai Lunch Special came with a good amount of food. It was a large bowl with six or seven pieces of shrimp along with a spring roll on the side. Value I ordered off the lunch specials menu, which is available seven days a week. It provides a selection of ten popular Thai dishes for $10, with a $2 up-charge if you want shrimp instead of beef or chicken. Ambiance Asian Thai Kitchen 2 is located in Little Havana, a little west of the main stretch of 8th Street. The storefront has two doors. The one on the left side is for take-out. It is a tiny space that is dominated by the kitchen. Technically they have a table in this area, but it looked like somewhere staff may eat during work. The door on the right side leads to a sit down dining area. In this space they have about ten small tables set up for folks who don't want to transport food home. I decided to eat-in, which I regretted. The space is pretty horrifying. The walls are a horrendous shade of red and then the lights are blindingly bright. It reminded me of the creepy bathroom in The Shining. They had a few different small pieces of artwork on the wall, but they also had boxes and items spread on many of the tables. One of the staff members was doing inventory during my visit. They had a tiny old speaking playing techno music in the corner, luckily it could not go very loud. However, the worker was listening to a television show on her phone that was extremely loud. It combined for a headache-inducing sound. I left knowing this is not a place for a sit down meal. Crowd I was the only person eating at the restaurant for Saturday lunch. Apparently other patrons must have already learned to only come for take-out. Service I believe the waitress, who was also working on the inventory, was shocked to have a lunch guest. She seemed perplexed that I wanted to sit down and initially pointed to next door for take-out. In the end she was fine as a waitress, but I think she could have been more considerate regarding the volume of her phone. Parking There is street parking directly in front of the restaurant, however even west of the main stretch, 8th Street can be extremely hectic. Across the street is a newer apartment building and around it are a good deal of street spots that do not have quite as many cars rushing by as you navigate. Extra I acknowledge my mistake of deciding to dine-in at Asian Thai Kitchen 2, it is definitely a take-out spot. However, I did not enjoy my meal because of the overwhelming sweet flavor. I came in craving pad thai and left feeling the same. Perhaps the rest of the menu contains gems, but I would not recommend what I consider the signature Thai dish. read more

It's been a while since I've written a review. This is based on ordering take out a month ago for an early Mother's Day lunch. I called the restaurant to ask if they offer delivery directly since the delivery apps are charging higher commissions during this time but they said delivery is through GrubHub. We ordered the papaya salad (shredded raw papaya), shrimp pad see ew (thick rice noodles) with Chinese broccoli, tofu red curry and tofu basil fried rice. Everything was tasty but it did take over 70 minutes for GrubHub delivery and the food was not hot upon arrival. Would get their pad se ew again as they made it with the thick rice noodles unlike other restaurants that use the regular rice noodles as in pad thai. I may try their spicy fish next time as long as it's not tilapia as that's why I did not order the fish curry. It was nice to order Thai take away that was good and support local restaurants. read more

Although the food arrived still warm, I was disappointed with the quality of the food. I ordered their ATK Fried rice and it was really mushy/soggy. The food had like no coloring on it and was bland. Thank God I had some soy sauce from the Gyoza I ordered that I used to help with the taste. My co-worker ordered the chicken fried rice and hers was even worst in color and flavor. There were also these annoying huge pieces of onions in the rice that were soggy and mushy as well. We had to pick them out of our dish to make it somewhat palatable. My husband got the crispy white fish with the chili Thai sauce and he said it was delicious. I tried it and it was rubbery. I don't think I will be ordering from them again. read more

We decided to give them a shot even though we'd never heard of them. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. I think she might've been the owner based on how polite and friendly she was. As you may already know, Miami is not known for their customer service, but she was great. She didn't rush us and told us to take our time in deciding what to order. The menu is surprisingly extensive and is very moderately priced. We both ordered soup as our starter. I ordered the miso soup which considering how basic a miso soup is, I was pleasantly surprised at just how flavorful theirs is. My fiancé ordered the Tom Kar Gai (creamy coconut milk soup). It was thick and creamy and very well flavored. For our entrees, we ordered the Panang curry: the sauce was impeccable. Best Panang curry I've had in a very long time. We also ordered the chicken with Thai Ginger Sauce: if you love ginger (as do I), you'll love this dish. It has the perfect amount of ginger and the sauce tastes delicious when poured over their fluffy, steamed, white jasmine rice. Overall, this is the best Thai food I've had in years. The portions are generous and plentiful, the flavors are authentically Thai, the prices are very fair, and the service is fast and attentive.
