VEGETARIANS BEWARE! I would like to give 4 stars to the restaurant, because the food we could eat was good. It's a large, open dining room and the tables are crowded together and noisy, but that didn't particularly bother us; we were out for food and not atmosphere. There is no alcohol available at this time. The menu is enormous. It was extremely busy tonight (a Friday), and the staff were a overwhelmed. The manager acted very stressed and snapped at the waitstaff frequently. Service was slow, but not outrageously slow, and our waiter was very sweet and attentive. My daughter and I are vegetarians; her husband is not. We go out for sushi frequently, and she was very happy to find a new place near Apollo Beach. We spent a long time going through the large menu, which does not have a separate section of vegetarian sushi or entrees. We specifically asked if certain items on the sushi menu were vegetarian, and my daughter ordered avocado roll and sweet potato roll. The sweet potato roll came coated with roe (fish eggs - not vegetarian). She spotted this right away and asked about it, and it was confirmed that it was roe, and that the dark sauce drizzled over it was eel sauce! The server took it back and ordered a fish-free version, but it took a VERY long time to arrive. My son-in-law and I had finished our entrees, very slowly, before her food came out correctly (she was able to eat the smaller avocado rolls). We also had extremely long waits before our salads arrived after we ordered, and all the tables around us seemed to have been given bowls of fried noodles and duck sauce, commonly served as free appetizers in Asian restaurants, and we weren't. No compensation was offered for the food (of course we were not charged double) and scant apology was made - the server, as I said, was a very sweet young man, and working very hard - but this restaurant will be sorry to lose the large number of vegetarian, vegan AND food-sensitive/allergic patrons who rely on an accurate and complete menu. read more

First timer! We were in the area and wanted to find somewhere to go for dinner. Came across Yummy House and the menu looks delicious! Walked inside and the place looks clean and we were seated right away. I order chicken and shrimp hibachi and my wife order the sizzling pepper beef clay pot. We didn't wait long for our food and our food was fresh and hot! I was starving at this point and was ready to eat whatever came my way. It came to my surprise the portions of the food was HUGE! So delicious and I tried the beef clay pot and that was delicious too! I would definitely come back here if I'm in the Apollo Beach area. Tonight after receiving an advertisement from New China and seeing they had dinner meals (entree with fried rice and egg roll), I decided to give them a try. Worst mistake ever! I am putting this information out there for those who may get the same advertisement from New China. Stick with Asian Yummy House! I have always been pleased with the food. The only reason they get 4 stars is for the price. Everything is a la carte and that can get expensive if each household member wants a different entree. I got the orange chicken and my wife got the Kung Pao chicken. My daughter-in-law got the sushi which was warm and she sent it back. Sushi should be cold not warm. Went on a recommendation of a neighbor. Very disappointed. Only positive was that owner/manager brought us a bowl of Edame meant for another table. I should have known better than to order Siu Mei, a dumpling appetizer. It literally was the kind you buy frozen in a plastic trey in an Asian grocery store and microwave. the vegetables and meats seemed to be quickly cooked in a wok, and covered with salty/sweet sauces that never entered them The taste was limited to the sauce. After a few visits here, I have realized that there are only very few things I've enjoyed from this asian house. The restaurant is for the most part fairly clean, but is expected since it's a new restaurant. service at this point (7 mths) is still very "hit or miss", most tables seem unattended; you sit there with dirty plates with no one to clean up, not even your waiter... you always have to ask for your check, tables around you have same issues from what we've seen. Ok the food: I strongly feel that their best dishes are those of Chinese cuisine, the Japanese and thai is not one I would order here again. Sushi: we have tried so many types of rolls and were very disappointed every time; it is a health risk in it self to eat raw fish and when you serve it room temp, well you finish this statement up. No good! And when you are an avid sushi lover and a restaurant tries to slip fillers (mixed with low grade tuna) with no taste taste whatsoever (spicy tuna=breading ) or switch local farmed fish for white fish on a rainbow roll... no good. Some positives: the stir fry's are good, hot and sour soup is some of the best I've had, and I'm comparing to some of my experiences from China town (NYC, Montreal and San Fran) not bad at all. Hope these folks realize what style they're going for and stick to the good dishes they have or make some changes to their Japanese and thai cuisine. Great food and fast service. I don't know half of what I ate but it was delicious! We had sushi and sashimi combo, and some pot stickers, because that's how we roll! No, really, good food. Go. Tip. It took us longer to order than for the young lady to bring our food. Oh and I'm reasonably certain the pot stickers were not "frozen" prior as they were soft and tender, not the usual where you get it home and they're sticky and you can pick it up with a fork; you could not pick these up a fork - they were simply too tender for that nonsense. We've been driving for hours and I've had a hot and sour craving for days. I yelped this place as my hunger became less bearable and we found ourselves cruising through a Winn Dixie parking lot towards Asian Yummy House. I ordered the large Hot and Sour soup and my hubs had the house special fried rice. The soup was fabulous and brought out quickly too. The fried rice was pretty standard which is what we wanted. When I saw the menu I was excited! Looked like a great idea to have such a fusion of foods in one place. The wait staff was very friendly and polite ( I would rate a 5 star on that) but the three star rating is the quality of their food. Our table ordered pad Thai, General tso chicken and crab ragoons. The crab ragoon overall was good but the sweet and sour sauce was so so. Should serve it with the same dipping sauce they use at Thai restaurants and would make it amazing! The Pad Thai was also good. The General Tso was exactly what you would expect if you were ordering from any Chinese take out. Overall the food quality reminded me very run of the mill take out food where you could expect " good" but not great food. read more

This place is clean and organized. Once my friend and I were seated the server came to my table and ask for our drinks. After her recommendation, I ordered 4 sushi rolls which were Autumn of Connecticut, Baked Philadelphia Roll, Caterpillar Roll and Samurai Roll. I also ordered an appetizer, the rock shrimp tempura was not only mouthwatering but it came to our table fast and was steamy hot. Then, when we're finished with the appetizer, the sushi rolls came to our table with two separate plates. Once I had a glance at the plate I was pretty amazed because of the decorations. The server told us which roll was which. She asked how we're doing a couple times and refilled our drinks. The sushi rolls were beyond delicious. I would definitely recommend this place to you guys. After waiting 15 minutes at our table for our server; we are informed that it is bring your own beer and wine...um ok. The wait staff was courteous; however, they appeared mismanaged. Just discovered this place last week and I love it. Not only is the staff friendly and polite, but the dining atmosphere is clean and welcoming. We were skeptical when we saw the vast menu but having eaten here a few times we've found that not only is the food affordable but it's also delicious. Among our favorites are the Thai basil beef, pork and chicken fried rice, steamed dumplings, orange beef... the list goes on and on! I did not like this place at all. I ordered the combination Tepanyaki, and the beef was ice cold. I sent it back and received a warmed up version after everyone at my table had finished their food. Really nice place in Winn dixie plaza. Walked in and sat down right away. Service was very good. We both ordered pad Thai chicken. It had a little too much sauce for me personally but other than that it was delicious. I will just ask for less sauce next time because I will def be returning. Also ordered fried dumplings for appetizer and those were awesome too. Make sure to dip in sauce they come with. All in all our trip here was very good and we will return again. Do NOT order through their online beyond menu! I placed an order and received a phone call in regards to verifying card information. I'm not sure where the misscomunication happened, but I was told the card would just need to be verified with an Id at time of delivery. After waiting OVER an hour I called to check the status of my delivery and was told it typically takes 45 minutes.... Mind you it's already been an hour. I was then told that my order was out on delivery. I end up calling back again after 30 minutes to find that my order was never even taken. This is a reasonably priced, convenient place to get decent sushi and other oriental meal choices. Their sashimi is always fresh, and their sushi rolls are consistently delicious! The service is always polite and efficient, and the atmosphere inside is very clean and pleasant. As far as their take-out is concerned, they are both timely, and superor to all other Chinese take-out restaurants in the area. Our favorite time to visit is Monday through Saturday for lunch, as their specials are super cheap. Three sushi rolls plus a soup or salad for $11? Where can you find a deal like that? The good is consistently high quality, fresh and served at the right temperature every time. We always start with the fried pot stickers and we love them.
